I play on a 42" widescreen LCD TV. This change is wonderful, hope it is implemented fully soon.

Last few weeks…not the last week.

Part of the problem is Bots are mass tagging mobs before they even appear on your screen, they get the info straight off the server, no load time. It’s basically melted before you see it half the time.

Level cap was 20 in GW1 before, during, and after all expansions.
The lvl 80 thing is there to placate the sandbox braggerts who didn’t want to brag to their WoW buddies about their awesome level 20.
There is no reason to increase levels other than bragging rights, it’s a PvP game.

I’ve been playing MMOs for 15 years to, the thing I do not need is a gear grind. I despise them generally, it’s an incredibly weak mechanic and is needed by the MONTHLY pay gimmick to keep you …. paying.
I prefer to have fluff to grind for if I want TO, not because I need TO. This is a PvP game, as soon as you PvEers wrap your little heads around that notion we can progress beyond all these “we need mounts” “we need more end game content” “we need raids” crap.

[Exploit] The 6000+ Vanilla Beans I bought in Bulk with Karma are sellable for gold on the Trading Post...

This post should be removed from the forums if this exploit still works. OP should instead submit the exploit properly, privately.

Unless I am mistaken, as long as one of the items is level 80 in your transmutation box it will require a Fine Transmutation Stone.
Only if both items are below 80 could you use the Basic Transmutation Stone.

I make about 1.25-1.5 gold per 20 mins or so just farming nodes in Frostgorge. I don’t go out of my way to farm the far off nodes, I stick mainly to the east side. I also time-share this 20 mins between 2 80s I have so I double up the farming on that side of the map.
You probably can make that much or more doing the event suggestion above, I just find mat farming less stressing and much easier, can afk at any point, etc.
After the 20 mins I jump on an alt and work on levelling another character. Do that for about an hour, switch back to farming.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Agreed and would prefer to have the real time dodging that was in GW1.
Unfortunately these are hard-made decisions I am afraid and I expect them to be held on to firmly.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I posted a similar suggestion for an app last week, an Event Alert app. Hopefully that gets implemented if not stand-alone.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Thief, simply due to burst dps, stealth and 25% always up (except in combat) movement speed.
I have 80 warrior and 80 thief. Both weren’t hard to level unlike some professions, but I have to give Thief the edge mainly due to movement speed, kill speed is the second contender.

In PvP games you raid other players.
Imagine, instead of fighting static scripts you fight against another player trying to out wit you…..just imagine.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I am getting this same issues.
Seems to happen during large events where a lot of people are fighting… At points when their are a lot of different sounds being played rapidly at the same time.
It is almost like it get overloaded and fails and leave you with the alarm to let you know it broke.
The work around mentioned a few times in the previous pages is to turn down Sound Quality. I managed by reducing mine from max to 50% on the slider. Haven’t had the issue for a month now (or about that).
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Chiming in, though I found this rather late.
1. Gold sellers are the reason gem prices are skyrocketing. More easy to obtain gold in the game, cheaper than selling gems to gain, drives up the price of Gems as the demand goes up, less people flip gems for gold and the product on hand dimishes.
Now for my unbiased opinion on the Free question.
If the BLTC helps keep this game floating, helps pay the bills for updates, free new content, running the servers, etc., I am happy with that. As long as it remains a cosmetic and quality of life added based design. As long as it doesn’t go into the Pay to WIn category.
Would I like everything to be more like GW1? Sure, but I was happy in GW1 when buying extra character slots first became available. I wasn’t around much longer after that though as my interest had declined due to playing the game for 2 years.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Was just about to post this, it’s specifically the drake champs whose animations are stuck. They look like someone is sliding around plastic dinosaurs. Been this way for the last 3 content updates.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Been doing this since Pre, I know the sliders and the difference in the Width slider and the one that moves the jaw/chin back and forwards.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I had just made a Human Female Elementalist prior to the message to update. When I updated I deleted the character and remade with a different name, however the Jaw slider did not change the position of the jaw/chin. I went back and forth into the character editor and it did not correct the issue.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I don’t understand the issue in it’s suggested totality. I ignore most mobs in Orr when I want to get somewhere, do something. With my warrior I just keep on trucking and absorb the damage it rarely takes me below 95%. On my Thief using Stealths I simply keep on truckin’. If my Mesmer were 80 it would be just as easy. On a ranger I can use pet to attack while I keep moving and call him back to me.
I just don’t see the issue. Now perhaps the issue is you feel the need to kill anything that attacks you?
Don’t get me wrong, I find Orr utterly annoying and do my farming elsewhere, but if it is working as designed you simply need to learn to adapt.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
It’s a long coat. Let’s not be misleading to try and make a weak suggestion based on nothing.
Each race has Cultural Armor. I suggest you check it out, no long coats for at least Human and Norn (T2 and T3). gw2armor.com

No thanks. WoW players need to figure out this isn’t WoW. You bought a PvP game.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I would be disappointed if GW2 switched to a gear grind game. Those few of you PvErs that bought a PvP game and want a gear grind/raid grind/whatever you miss from WoW, find a PvE game.

I have had ONE black lion key drop and I have been playing since pre-release. It dropped during a Curse Shore event and it netted me no fine stones.
Not complaining as I will buy one set of fine stones per 80 I get.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I can tell you from personal gaming experience, the bots were heavily hit. Due to lack of real players doing content before level 70 I had begun to rely on bots nearby to lure mobs into so as to gain event completions. Now there are very few bots, it appears (on my server at least) to be about half, maybe even less, as to what it was before Tuesday. In fact on Tuesday there were almost NO bots at the cursed shore Bot Event.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
What makes you say those aren’t the horrendous Norn Female running animations?
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Levelling anything below 70 has become a bit painful when it comes to dynamic events. This is not the game it was in the first 2 weeks of release, and very few events get done with so few players in the levels below 70, and even the 70s can be sparse.
What needs to happen, and I am sure if it does it will be a long ways off from getting done, is Maps need to be able to be cross-server accessed. Or basically the maps need to be reduced to a point of less than 1 per server, more like 1 per 6 servers.
I have no idea how this would be handled internally server side, but it really needs to get done and the sooner we start working on that, the sooner the “OMG my server is dead!” messages can be prevented.

lmao then erm… i dnno… change tactic perhaps? you cant just do the same thing in every situation and hope for the love of god it works… you need to adapt and change ur build for every situation… if you only have AOE then you sir fail….
this is a good idea and infact its soo good its in almost every mmo…Aion…. tera…warcraft… rift… all their pets are immune to AOE and not 1 person has complained about it… why? because there is no problem… you want to kill a pet? then sure do it in single target… or just kill the controller… its not hard…. stop being a bad player learn to adapt
Walk in the shoes you provide.
You don’t always need to have a minion build either. They are useless vs bosses as it is.

Some days I can’t spend a lot of time running through maps doing various random things, to level my character. On some of these days I can be within ear shot of the speakers or have my ipod nearby. Here is a suggestion I would like to see since on days I don’t have a lot of time I like to leave my character in the area of a Dynamic Event so I can jump into the event if it starts, but I don’t always know when an event will start since some have no aural warning/alert.
Put an aural alert on all dynamic events. Keep them very limited so as to not annoy players who aren’t directly in the event area and would not care for the alert. Also what about an app that alerts to a dynamic event in the characters area? I think that would be terrific, it may be hard to do since it would track the character location.

It doesn’t have anything to do with fragmentation. Just look at your disk light, it isn’t pegged. Whatever they did it’s about the communication between client and server.
It’s not just zone loading either, whatever it is I think has to do with the ‘culling’ of characters and the preview for your character when you go into the dye screen.
Files get fragmented across the drive, even single files. This is the entire point to apps like Contig, to defragment single, usually large, files.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
The problem: Load times taking very long after patch Oct. 7.
As stated in another post on this forum after the last patch the load times have greatly extended, it’s incredibly noticeable. So either the coding is deficient (most likely the cause) or files are being fragmented with the updates. Since no one in Tech Support can help if it’s issue is caused by #1, I will move on to #2.
Is there any particular file or group of files that may be getting fragmented and extending load times? I would like to run Contig and straighten them out if that could be the cause.

Game Loading Time is longer after Oct 7 patch (SSD)

It isn’t your system, my specs are very different from others and I have the same issue. I was coming here to check out if maybe there is a file or group of files getting fragmented by these updates but it just seems its poor coding.
Let me further state I do not have an SSD, just an HD, and again the load times are much longer. It has nothing to do with your system specs.

I don’t do the storyline. I don’t play MMOs for their “Story”, especially PvP MMOs. I don’t care about completionist. I just level, learn the skills and eventually get into PvP.
I would have to agree with the OP, locking content into other content only alienates those who aren’t interested in every single dripping piece of content.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Guild Wars is a PvP game, and as such is fine. If you don’t enjoy GW2, then go find pursuits you do enjoy. If that happens to be another game, great.
Have fun!
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I only played the first 2 years of GW1, up until Eyes. So bear in mind if things changed to this format later, I am unaware.
I would love to see the 4v4 random and team of GW1 return to GW2. I would love the random queue. Maps with no “points” to be taken, just a kill the other team format. Heck you could even bring back the original maps, they don’t need new models, it would be good for nostalgia as well.
I would really like to get into PvP in GW2 and I found random 4v4 a good way to just jump in. Basically a very small WvW which can be to vast and less useful for the completely uninitiated.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I’m more concerned about the actual Guild Vs Guild aspect that Guild Wars completely lacks at the moment, where are the guild on guild matches? That’s what I’d like to see on the leaderboards.
Have to say the two features that should have been in GUILD WARS 2 from the start: GvG and Spectator Mode.
I have no idea why GvG isn’t in a game called Guild Wars. I have no idea why spectator mode, one of the most popular features added in GW1 was left out. I think there was way to much eye on content and less on substance in this regard.

The information datamined from the latest patch reveals an item that will give you permanent bank access from anywhere, there is also an item to do the same thing with the Black Lion Trading Company and something else I am forgetting. So chin up, it’s coming soon (possibly in the November surprise they have mentioned).
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
The OP is correct and has a very good point, the counters of basically “No you can’t, live with it.” don’t hold water.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Control+right click makes any skill auto attack. You cal also set it up for quick casting for skills to put the activated skill where your mouse is.
Currently #1 grenade can not be set to auto-attack, as the OP stated. There is no logical reason a Rifle or a Pistol can auto-attack a target but a Grenade can not.
If the intent is grenades are a non-targetting attack in the real world, I can counter that so is the shot of a blunderbuss and any “rapid firing” musket/pistol.
If I don’t want a grenade to attack my target I could simply use ground targetting, so again the logic behind not allowing auto-attack doesn’t fit. I am guessing it is because the Grenade has no second or 3rd attack to cycle through.

I just went through this map yesterday. These “chaos” maps with their winding twists and turns and non-linear travel is grossly irritating. I just got through it as quick as I could, don’t plan on going back. I went straight to the next map, though straight isn’t the proper term for travel on this map.

I have no idea what you are talking about in relation to GW1. What do you mean the partying system came out way to late? It was in the game from the start.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I stopped playing GW1 before any skins were added, would be interested (played first 2 years, up to the release of Eyes).
Also, Lara Croft’s original Tomb Raider outfit for Medium Armor please.

Missions were the worst part of GW1. The WORST.
No thanks.

I semi-support this, I worked hard for my Icon so the least that should be disabled would be on the minimap and not the icon above people’s heads. I know this may get annoying, but if you complain that the icons above people’s heads are annoying and want them removed, you may as well remove the icons from the merchants and karma merchants.
You can’t even see it so you only want PvErs to see it for your vanity? Really?
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Here is what I take away from the posts:
Warrior can use 1 skill to win! (albeit he has to use other skills to boost that skill’s damage, but still!)
Waaaaaa my 1 trick pony thief got his trick nerfed! I don’t want to consider other builds! (perhaps the nerf was meant to get players to reevaluate using the same build all the time)
Every thing else that are receiving complaints seem to have a legitimate basis to complain.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
If you go this route go the route of GW1. Ultra rare drops just have ultra rare skins of items already available to players.
Since it’s just a super rare skin, it isn’t account or soul bound so you can sell it. It should also not drop just from 1 mob, that creates a farming spawn and we don’t need that in a PvP game either.
No need to try to make a PvP game into some farmfest PvE elitist MMO.
