It should also apply to NPCs outside of the normal restriction of 5. This is part of the problem with Balthazar. This and overpowered Spamjugators.

Here’s a novel idea, how ’bout players like you actually run people through the dungeon and teach them, instead of scaring them off with kitten like this. Then when you want to run you will actually have people to run it with.
Most players I know still haven’t even run all the dungeons after a year of solid play, largely because of players like you.
You’re like the industries that demand nothing but experienced professionals for years and years then can’t figure out why there are no more experienced professionals once that generation retires. People need experience, to become, experienced.
Why don’t you do that then. Lets spend 3-4 hours teaching 4 people their class and the dungeon mechanics.
While you are at it, give them gold for gear and help them level to 80. We need to help eachother yes?
You have failed to counter his valid point. No one taught you jack, you just went in all pro and kitten. Right? Idiots.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Really….Anet should sue over Shadowrun. Wait…it was released in the 80s…doh?
Not everything you come across is the first time the subject matter was covered.

It forces you to choose whether or not taking skills that counter CC is worth it. Making choices like this is part of the gaming experience.

The reason you can not sell ascended mats, and the reason you are time-gated on creating some of the required materials for ascended weapons is Anet wants control over how fast you can aquire them.
Colin Johanson stated people got exotics much faster than they had expected and that shortened the “end game” (grind, my word there). So now to control within the strictest measure possible, no you can not sell your ascended mats.
The more productive thing to ask Anet to allow you to do with them is use them as some other sort of currency. Let’s say….hrm…repair armor by visiting a Armorsmith, instead of having to pay silver.

(edited by GOSU.9574)
You specifically mentioned MAGITECH and AETHERBLADE ARMOR. Now play coy and pretend you didn’t, but there it is…quick better go edit.
Has anyone checked to see if the new transmutation splitters work on gem store and event skins? Things like aetherblade or megitech armor…
To late…doh.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Why? 800 gems for full 6 piece skin, or 300 per piece to regain the individual piece skin.
Do the math.

The OP has some very legitimate complaints.

The Champion and Veteran Risen Subjugators are insanely overpowered right now. Balthazar temple is rarely attempted currently, but this isn’t why I am reporting this.
Any Veteran Risen Subjugator is insanely overpowered. This leads me to believe there is an internal check that needs to be made on their power levels. The one in the Cursed Shore maze at the skill point is one, of a few, I have to contend with. You can not go around or avert this encounter, if you want to get the skill point. This location is further overpowered by the fact that every risen in the collateral paths will aggro. This entire encounter area needs cleared out or changed, and that is beside the fact the Veteran Risen Subjugator itself, is overpowered.

The whole soul bound vs account bound is an issue across many portions of the game and the gaming experience of GW2. Good luck with your request.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Anet isn’t a new company, it’s been around a few years and has a few games under their belt. Once upon a time a great idea they had (GW1) was to have a Community Relations position, filled by Gaile Gray. She was a sort of go between the GW1 community and the Anet GW1 team.
The reason I mention this is that over the years I believe Anet has had enough experience to have made a decision to go with their current approach. They have learned how best to handle forums such as this, the input, feedback, and responses they decide to make.
I don’t think it’s just random what and when an official employee makes a response.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Must be a robust tool if like 1 player has access, can really test it out. Only need 1 peep to be in a group, yeah.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I don’t see anything “grind required” about that guilds requirement. Full exotic? Really? If that is to much for you to achieve you should just uninstall.
The fight doesn’t last more than 15 mins so the food cost shouldn’t be anywhere near 1g.

I believe the official statement was to the effect they had no plans to provide such an option. It wasn’t a complete door slam, but it isn’t all that positive either.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
It isn’t mentioned in patch notes so it is either a bug or undocumented change.
The Champion Risen Keeper at the Statue of Dwayna Skill Challenge in Malchor’s Leap can now, as of today’s patch, see stealthed characters.

No offense, but you clearly don’t understand what I’m saying.
I love when someone disagrees with someone else and they start saying “you don’t understand”.
One can understand and disagree at the same time.
He just doesn’t like your Unload redesign proposal, nor do I.Also, one fundamental concept.
Skills in GW2 are not designed to be an alternative to the main DPS skills, nor to be rotated.
They are meant to be situational; you use unload for DPS, headshot for Control, vital shot for Condition dmg, etc.The only class that defies the concept is Elementalist who needs to rotate all their skills to deal decent DPS.
If you want to use all your skills a la WoW you can roll an Ele, so you can play piano with your numerical buttons and believe that makes you a pro, instead of having to use your skills intelligently.Yes you can understand and disagree, but that isn’t what’s happening here. Your analysis is mostly right, and that’s exactly what the problem is. The Thief has a unique resource mechanic – it isn’t cooldowns, it’s initiative. No other classes deal with this as a potential problem because they use cooldowns so their skills don’t directly compete with each other.
The Initiative mechanic means that the bread-and-butter damage skill should always be the autoattack like it is for every other Thief set because it uses no Initiative and therefore isn’t directly tied to your ability to use other skills. #2 – #5 should operate in a supplementary/specialized role. They offer some utility and may be better than the autoattack DPS wise in some situations, but not all. Unload is uniquely among all sets totally superior to Vital Shot, and that single-handedly breaks P/P by forcing you to choose at all times between maintaining DPS or having any utility whatsoever.
You can argue all you want, but I’m objectively right. The main thing that needs to happen is that Vital Shot needs to be buffed in some way to work better with P/P and Unload should be redesigned to work in some unique way that makes it only situationally better than the other skills, including Vital Shot.
It is what is happening here. I disagree, give you my reason, and you state I don’t understand. Here is what I understand:
You want to diminish Unload’s effectiveness in order to buff a skill you like better. No. No thanks. You go on your merry way. You give NO reason to change the skills other than you don’t like the way YOUR preferred skill works and would rather a non-preferred skill be diminished in order to get your preferred one buffed.
No thanks. I do understand, and I disagree. Better yet, it won’t happen. Close discussion, carry on.

To all those who posted contrary to my post, no sorry. You are NOT required to purchase anything from the Gem Store. Spend your money somewhere else if you don’t like the pricing, etc.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I, like many others, not only have no problem choosing where to use our Initiative, but I prefer Unload as it is. While not the same burst as d/d, Unload delivers a nice burst of ranged dps.

Wait til full ascended gear is in game, get back to me. I want to continue to read what a trifle amount of difference it makes. If it was so trifling would anet continue to beef up end game event encounters?
It’s a gear treadmill that has to be balanced with a beefing up of content difficulty (more beef). At what point will you clear the smoke from the mirrors?

The issue remains, there is an issue with this waypoint spawning players in the ground. Contested or not, doesn’t resolve the issue.

Currently unable to sell on the trading post, happened over the last hour.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Splintered Coast Waypoint in Sparkfly Fen has the tendency to spawn your character in the ground, this has only happened to me when a LARGE gathering for Tequatl is there and characters are body stacking on the waypoint.
This will become even more apparent once the new Teq event is in game and even more peeps try to get to it.
Waypoint needs to be moved, adjusted, or something done with the ground area.

To the OP: new players that attack a champ are not going to get fussed at, they are going to DIE. No new player will solo a queensdale champ.

Please, for the love of kittens, change Ranger sword auto (#1) so you are NOT glued into the combat animation. The one glaring issue with using Sword Ranger in PvP/WvW.
It’s nifty useful in PvE where you can faceroll stay on target since the animation locks you into constantly closing on the target, but this isn’t a reason to leave it as broken as it is.

My opinion: Big load off my mind.
Was a big load off my mind when, prior to release of this game, Colin stated there would be no gear tread mill. I thought “Awesome, like GW1 it will be horizontal (capping elites in that game) and armor appearances.”.
Turned out it was a load alright.
I put 0 faith in anything this guy says.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Nothing about GW2 is remotely about guilds. It’s a new game that simply ripped off the original Guild Wars for lore and names, including the game’s name. Everything else is 100% departure. Don’t expect Guild content to be high on the list of developers of GUILD WARS 2, which was misnamed purely for marketing purposes.
Welcome to Grind Wars.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I do not participate in gear treadmills. While Anet can claim they don’t make grindy games, the proof is in the pudding. I go about with my exotics doing what I do, waiting on EQN.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
It is written in stone now, why continue to debate what will NOT be changed?
Anet want’s a gear treadmill, Anet installs a gear treadmill. If you don’t like it, don’t get on the treadmill.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Face it, this is the game Anet has provided. If the above listed content doesn’t interest you, and saying that isn’t a knock against you or your likes, perhaps a new game is in order?
I have had the game since pre-release, I left it for about 6 months and recently returned. I don’t like much of the “end game”, but what do I expect for $59 right?
Wouldn’t have been bad if the game was more like GW1 which I played straight for 2.5 years from release, but other gamers did not like GW1. We all have our preferences.

Welcome to FLASHBACK 2012.
This is what happens to the peeps who say “LOL you noob if you think GW2 is a grind you don’t know what a grind is”. Yeah, all that “We don’t make grindy games”, ‘we don’t have a gear treadmill’, etc. All the peeps that harped on those of us who complained when the first implementations of all this began to surface. Yeah…
To all those peeps who said it wasn’t a grindy game…LOL.

For the first year now the message from Anet has been “kitten the alts”. They like it when you buy character slots, but punish you for actually using them.

A token system is the way to go for all RNG content above basic mobs and events. It was done well in another game I played, where the items offered for the tokens (required so many of the specific event to be completed) were the same that had a chance to drop from the event normally. Best system I have seen.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Everyone knows Anet doesn’t make “grindy games”, just ask Anet, or watch their pre-release video. You know, the one that also states they won’t have a gear tread mill in GW2….yeah….that video.

As long as Ascended gear can’t have sigils or runes, I don’t have an issue.

Most will chime in and say something like load outs will get around paying to reset traits, but this is simply resolved by the limited number of load outs that would be available.
Having 2 “free” load outs, the traits and skills currently in use being load-out 1, and a switch set being load-out 2, would be sufficient for most players. This should be offered free, in my opinion, if such an option is put in game. Additional load outs, like bank and inventory space, can be purchased as gem store upgrades.
Being able to change from one spec to another on the fly is indispensible, and in GW1 there was a similar option but that went as far as skill choices (as far as I recall, its been over 5 years since I played GW1).
Resetting a load-out configuration with new trait spec and skill choices would cost in-game coin as it does now to reset traits. However once set, switching to another load-out and back would be free of this cost.
