In GW1, and many other MMOs I have played, when you have no target, if something attacks you it becomes your target. This is very useful and I can’t imagine why it was either left out or intentionally chosen to not be implemented.

Would like to see this as part of the targetting system.

In GW1 especially in PvP on my monk I kept my target clear and cast on party with mouse, having my target become whatever was attacking me made life much easier.

At this stage even if Anet went in this direction you are talking 6-12 months to get the ball rolling with production. I have no idea why they spent all these years developing this game and evidently decided not to provide mass market cards like most other far cheaply produced F2P MMOs have done.

I really like how peeps post things like the responses above. In no way are they useful.

I don’t have or want any credit cards so I can pay a gouged % in order to buy things online. If you don’t have a CC how are you filling your PayPal account? Sending them checks? lol…

Cash Shop cards are highly regarded, useful and cut out a lot of issues especially for younger gamers. Has nothing to do with Wife, Parents, whatever. It’s called convenience.

Credit Cards require a hefty premium just to have them. Not everyone wants to pay a premium when it isn’t necessary. Most online game companies have these cards on the market, at WalMart, Target, GameStop, etc.

Get with the times and stop harassing legitimate requests.

Dungeon gear is completely optional, it isn’t needed in order to succeed at this game. Not sure what exactly you expected. It’s like FoW from GW1.

I just want to add I found your first 2 videos extremely helpful in understanding some of the basics of a Mesmer. I was rather confused on just how clones and phantasms worked out overall and the whole shattering concepts. Putting it into a video that showed combos and uses was extremely useful for me.

Prior to watching the videos I couldn’t force myself to get a mesmer beyond level 7…now that I have a much better understanding of the basics I am working one up as an alt.

In GW1 Mesmers WERE nothing but pvp really, no one wanted them in their groups for pve really if they could chose others (this was up through the first 2 years of GW1, I don’t know if changes were made afterwards).

In GW2 Mesmers complain about their usefulness in PvE environments like Dungeons, but I think they are pretty darn good. However, once again, they really shine in PvP. Is that broken? I leave that for you to decide, but I like having a character that is strong in an environment even if it costs them to be weak in another. I consider, in the end, that to be balanced.

Normally I run 3 signets but currently I am running the AoE stealth/heal for revives in lieu of one signet. I mainly go d/d and run 2 signets, with p/p on switch for nasty fights I don’t want to be in (I have a shortbow and only use that for dynamics with mass foe spawns). Still levelling at 55.

Do not incentivize players to report, it will lead to some of them reporting any one in order to get more rewards….

I have 6870 i5 2400 8gb, I don’t have this problem. I am thinking it is your system, not the vid card or game client (unless you got a bad install). Drivers up to date?

Playing from a thief perspective, while levelling, I could consistently underlevel kill things. I did this because I would quickly get bored with an area and go after skill points in the next higher area. In the 30s and 40s killing things 5-8 levels higher wasn’t to bad, but as I got into the 50s and beyond, this level gap kept narrowing and narrowing.

Just letting you know what to expect. Now at 55 I don’t like fighting anything more than 4 levels higher, and I try to avoid even that.

From another game I recently played it was suggested that tearing could be caused by having Vertical Sync enabled, IIRC.

I have the same exact video card you do and I don’t experience this issue. I do not overlock my cpu nor use crossfire, if that matters.

In a similar note, I find it annoying when my warrior starts losing adrenaline she says “Adrenaline risiing!”…

Look guy, I am 47 years old. I can’t twitch or rapidly react like most teens who play this game or MMOs in general. I have issues with things like these jumping puzzles, I too despise Mario-esque Platform Jumper games being in “my” MMO. However…

Everyone has different likes and dislikes. These things are in the game cause some people really like the challenges. I have come to somewhat enjoy them although they tend to annoy me greatly, it does add some variety in things you do in this game.

If you don’t like it, skip it. Obviously you like Map Completions, not everyone cares for that, myself included. I don’t bother with it, I only do jumps for skill points and Vistas if I find them amusing.

Bottom line: Deal with it, get over it, move on.

It was the fact Anet was nerfing farming in GW1 in order to deal with bots that eventually drove me away from the game. In the end it’s PvP or farming to buy mats/goods for your toons.

In GW1 botting was so bad at one time as to be overwhelming, but at least all farming was done in instances and players weren’t really impacted by it so much outside of the economy, and even the economy was not that drastically shaped by botting other than to the good side of more available runes and such. I don’t condone botting, I despise it. I do however likewise despise legitimate players suffering anti-bot tactics like drop adjustments.

Deal with the bots, that is the issue. Impacting legitimate players is always the wrong way to go about it.

Let’s just say no and bypass the free account gold spammers and botters right now.

It’s just like when you go out and buy that new/different car. Suddenly as you drive along EVERYONE seems to be driving the same make and model.

Some times you just notice things when you are actually looking for them. Those cars were there all along. Now about those droids you were looking for….

I absolutely despised the entire mission system of GW1. Many of those I played with to get through them would discuss this same feeling.

I much prefer how GW2 is working out for levelling, but I also do not care for the arbitrary level 80 thing to appease kids who can’t handle bragging about their maxed level character only being 20 to their WoW friends.

We all have our opinions.

I run intel i5-2400, 8gb ram, HD 6870. I have a constant 60 fps and at times it may drop to 45-50 briefly or in large battles. So, I would think it isn’t your computer.

happened to me in headstart, hasnt happened since. Pretty sure this has to be some quirk in the sound engine for GW2 as this has never happened in any other game.

Although as Nitrius said, this could also be some sort of driver conflict.

Indeed, happens in large fights sometimes. Will eventually seize the game if I allow it to continue during the fight. Basically I have to exit the game to clear it, which sucks as I lose whatever Dynamic Event contribution I have put into it up to that point.

Also to add I experience no dramatic FPS changes during these fights, I run at full settings and while I may lose a good chunk of FPS everything seems to be quite fluid, so it isn’t happening due to a system overload or something, it seems to be a programming/bug issue.

It’s a bot, just report it.

The teleporting melee is a key to finding a bot. Typically they run the Warrior Signet GS build. There is NO instant teleport for warrior, there are leaps and dashes, but not a mob to mob teleport like these botting hackers are using. It is quite obvious.

The fact you played DAoC 10 years is enough for me, I played the first 6 months of it and cancelled. It was THAT bad.

Take the “This game is doomed” drama some where else, the WoW forums maybe.

When you die you are penalized in stats, you will also have to repair which gets pricey and on top of that, you can not self revive without paying a waypoint tax.

Those being negative against removing this tax aren’t bringing a strong debate to the table. Also I suggested only the nearest waypoint be free.

Really it doesn’t impact me any longer, but first time players trying to work through this game do indeed suffer. It’s no better than the old spell/skill system that had a resource like mana, a casting time AND a cool down…I mean really….pushing string is no fun, games are meant to be enjoyable.

It farms mobs, generic usually non-aggressive mobs in fairly safe areas. Here is the most typical Bot I have found.

Profession: Warrior Build: Signet build greatsword

If you see one of these killing things no one else is killing, like no heart involved, watch them. They will kill a mob, the TELEPORT across to the next nearest mob and begain attacking. This teleport is pretty key, there is no warrior skill that allows you to simply appear next to a mob a long distance away. This isn’t a leap or a dash, it’s a complete area move. Basically the hack is cheating the server on where the character is located.

Once I witness this and watch for a bit to confirm it isn’t me lagging, I whisper the character. If I don’t get a response, I report.

This is GUILD WARS, not RAIDZORZ. If you bought the game with anything in mind for end game other than PvP, that is your issue. Next time research your choices pre-purchase.

Tired of these end game complaints from PvEers.

They are selling on TP for vendor price +1cp, even though the fee to post makes it a losing proposition over just vendoring the item. Since they just farm continuously they need to empty bags fast. Vendor price +1cp makes it very hard to sell anything for a worthy value. It’s great if all you do is buy.

I keep reporting the bots I discover, I can only hope they are being banned.

Recently on my Thief I was downed and struggling to stay up, I used the teleport skill (don’t recall name) that is available to a downed Thief, clicked an area on a “beach” setting. Thief teleported and was cycling between in water, out of water, or something and the skill panel kept switching with empty skills for both environments.

Needless to say the Thief died…

I experience the same thing, recently with the dragon in the 40-50 map (something Steppes) it even caused my game to lock up, twice, in the same fight.

It has only happened in long, long boss fight events where many players are involved (like 40+). Not sure what is causing it, my FPS seems very good so I doubt it has any ties to my video performance.

So when a character “dies” in this game you have to pay a repair bill (eventually) AND if no one is around to revive, you have a waypoint fee. This, in my view, is a double monetary penalty that doesn’t need to exist. In fact there are times with some of my characters where I didn’t have enough money to even go to the nearest waypoint.

There should be a simple solution for this: the nearest unlocked waypoint is FREE for downed characters.

The issue isn’t other people’s pets, it’s when the pet is renamed to it’s original “Juvenile”. Instead of the game looking for untamed Juveniles, it’s just looking for that word.

Pretty much levelling as d/d power/precision/crit. Not getting to caught up in theorycrafting or min/maxing. Just levelling solo.

Since I started out with p/p for simplicity and not getting hurt in large fights I use that for champs/events, etc.

I waited years for GW2. At first I was not liking this as much as I expected, I sorta expected something similar to GW1 and I was not and am not into a huge level spread just to appeal to the masses that want LARGE numbers to brag about (omg I can’t tell my friends in school my awesome character is only level 20!!@!).

However, after longer play ( a few days starting with pre-release) I got accustomed to the game and while I am sure there are tweaks needed and whatnot, this is a superb game and a great base for hopefully more to come.

Kudos to all involved in producing, testing and releasing this (as well as to all those maintaining and tweaking it)!

Race change is absolutely no different than a faction change that other game. Seriously if you don’t like it, get over it. Anet will decide or have decided, time will tell. If you have suggestions please post them, your opinion on other suggestions serves no purpose other than to make you feel good.

I don’t want to see baseball caps or sun glasses in an mmo with this type of milieu. Nor Wings. Yet I am not here to hammer on their inclustion, it’s done, I deal.

Norn is best for it’s simplicity. If you want a simplistic start, lets say with a simplistic class (for starting) like warrior, Wayfarer Hills can’t be beat.

The others are interesting, and at times can be confusing or overwhelming for the totally new player. Some are even annoying (imo).

Putting anything in the store that you have to work to earn in game will be seen as a pay to win economy and completely turn off most avid gamers.

It has been stated many times by Anet this will not happen, the store is to carry items that has no direct impact on success in the game. Stated gear for sale and requiring no effort to earn flies in the face of that position.

Styles bought from the Gem Store, there should be a special slot on the character sheet to put styles so they can be permanent, like the town outfit IMO. Most other MMO’s that have costumes are done this way.

The way its implemented atm means there a one off waste of money.

I completely concur, there should be style SLOTS for each armor choice, and an overall slot for an entire skin if one chooses. As it is now there are some armor bits in game that are common I would like my character to appear as wearing, but I can not and won’t buy transmute stones for that.

A race change is absolutely no different than a WoW faction change. To say it isn’t possible is just your opinion since you don’t see it as something you want.

The barber shop is fine, however it should be limited to unlocked content, and style packages can be sold via the store to unlock more options.

To the poster making some sly comment about not knowing what race to pick initially, that holds so much more water than choosing your character’s appearance initially, right? How can you even play this game if you can’t decide how your character looks initially, right?

Paid name/gender/race readjustments for sure. This should also reset all skill points since some may be assigned to racials. Racial equipment should automatically change to race-appropriate gear.

Paid cosmetic readjustments too, simply allows you to alter the gender/race you already use, should be cheaper like $5 or maybe even less.

Would like to see more cosmetics added for a premium. Hair with streaked colors like white down the center, off center and on the sides (white can be customized, just a reference).

This should be a priority just after bug fixes.
