So I managed to get lucky and pick up a pair of the holo wings, and i’ve seen the Shattered wings on preview. I have to say they look nice… Except for the fact that they are swinning so hard.

They would look better if they weren’t so heavily animated. If they were less flappy and more stationary they’d look excellent.
The animation is fine standing still, but moving it just looks odd.

I’ve owned “wing” back items in other games, and having them flap like this, just looks strange.
If you’d like to see a game that did “wings” right, Tales Runner did an excellent job.

Why would I want useless unflapping wings on my back? That makes no sense… Completely defeats the purpose of them being wings…Wow.

The purpose of wing is to fly! not flap……

Well I grabbed 18k Gems and opened about 50 of the event boxes, no luck. But I was ready for that lol So I bought 140 keys, and a various assortment of other things. Not 50k, but getting there :P Made about 20 gold off the minis and using salvage kits that dropped for rares/ecto>crystaline. Overall was pretty fun and refilled my stock of boosts.

Allow rng boxes to be purchased in gem store with “better chances at the drop”.
Allow the boxes to be obtained in game with lower chance at tickets.
Allow skins to be earned through difficult and lengthy means, but without time limitations. (Or stretch the time limitations to an acceptable length)

Add more armor/weapon skins to gem store as well as to the game to fill in the gap.

What? For someone who often drones on about his debating credentials, I expected a little more than that.

People have put out plenty of salient, well thought out reasons as to exactly why the argument that “it would be all okay after Southsun honest guys” is a bad case to bring forward. Those arguments where backed up by evidence in the actual game itself which also pointed to such a case being wrong.

Then we have ANET making alterations to the system, the company with all the data and with the control is making alterations which back up the fact that “leaving it alone and it will all be cool” is simply put, wrong.

The evidence and the actions of the developer running the kittening game point to the notion that “it will all be alright soon if left alone” was a bit of a joke of an argument to make frankly.

The argument that “it was all fine, everything would be hunky dory after Southsun” has effectively been buried. But let’s not admit that right, let’s try and still convince everyone that it all would have been okay, there was no issue at all, no siree! I mean, no one has a crystal ball so who know. It’s not like you can go on what was actually occurring, what steps the developers have subsequently taken and use your noggin to apply some common sense is it!

So here you are, gibbering on about needing a crystal ball, calling people closed minded and proclaiming it being only a case of “my opinion is better than yours!!!”. Fantastic.

It would have been “better” after Southsun, but Arenanet decided that instead of just waiting it out and allowing content to further exacerbate the situation they would step in. For a few reasons:

The community was in an uproar over it
It was hurting the economy
There will always be new content to take away from Orr
They do not want us to HAVE to farm, and therefore decided this is the best course of action at this time

There are further fixes in the future to help farmers like myself and others, as well as to make things more profitable without needing to exploit or control things like some others do. Running an MMO isn’t easy, it is its own government, own world, economy, it shares the struggles and triumphs of real world as well. You can go around lambasting everyone because of conspiracy theories or just general hate at arenanet is simply childish. Had they left it alone, between the events the dust would have settled around 25-30s imo. But because they stepped in (which was a bold and dangerous move) we simply won’t know. So any argument to the contrary is just assumption in either case. I think it best we move on and continue feedback on the current system and future systems rather than attack each other over what we believe was really going to happen. Just enjoy the game, go bash some dragons, try and let this silly war go. Because I’m sure all of us have something better to fight for, fight over, than something this petty and virtual.

Also don’t forget the coffers drop pretty much everywhere, this includes Orr. So keep that in mind as far as farming events, you could end up with quite a few if you catch an event chain with many mobs.

No, that’s not what I think. I think if I can get it as a cosmetic item from gem store, it feels like I’m supporting Anet monthly, instead of a money cash grab with RNG boxes. That’s what I think. I got 1 mini out of 10 rich coffers with some misc food and I was wondering why I supported Anet RNG boxes.

It may not be what you think, but if you take a look at all the people having trouble even making 1g in game who are casual and don’t have as much irl cash, you can see the difference. A games quality items whether they be cosmetic or functional should never cater to a financial standard that can make people feel inferior. You can look at this economically in most countries, Africa for instance generally has the super rich and the super poor. Those with wealth have respect and control, those without live in terrible standards of living.

I think people on either end of the spectrum deserve the same quality of life, and the same holds true for the game. I can go toss $2,000 on gem cards and buy anything i wish, but if that gave me an advantage over those who couldn’t I would feel bad, and feel as though the game left out an important amount of people. Since everything is essentially cosmetic or convenience I don’t feel that way. But as far as prestigious items, I truly believe for now a random chance to get is more fair than just allowing richer players with more gold/cash to outright buy them. Becoming the majority holders of said prestige items through wealth alone. That just doesn’t feel right.

I financially supported my wife for 2 years so far, she has yet to clean my house or cook dinner. Sometimes benefits aren’t about being rewarded, they are about time spent enjoying. Yeah, some people are impatient and have to do everything within 24 hrs of the release of new content, then spend the rest of the month complaining there’s nothing to do.

Did you notice when the SS update happened, how soon people started showing up wearing the flower/tentacle backpacks? I saw some within 24 hours of the patch going live. Likewise you’ll see people getting the title and whatever rewards for doing 10/14 achievements, when the other 4 can’t even be completed until the next patch happens.

Myself, I’m not in such a hurry. I wandered around Lion’s Arch for an hour or two while waiting for the dailies to reset, smashed about 50 pinatas and ate some candy, set off 50 fireworks… only thing I completed was to talk to the eight captains.

I don’t even know what the achievements are yet aside from apparently camping holos

Normally you see people just running past trash mobs but not today. I really like it for some reason it’s fun. I am pretty sure I even saw a warrior try to kill a little kid in Beetleton LOL

Cool thx for the info, why didnt I think of that before. i was farming on populated server and pretty much u have to be fast or no kills or drops for u… I will guest to less un populated server later.

The first thing most people do in these events (which is a bad idea) is run to the low level areas for easy kills. People do this not realizing that everyone and their quaggan cousin will also be doing the same thing ^^ Always best to run to higher areas as low levels as well as high levels will swarm populated servers with overflowing amounts of people. You can even switch between at least 2 other less populated servers to see if the same map is more available, while allowing 1-2 people who may be around you to join in, you make it easier for everyone to get at least some drops. Higher the level the activated mobs are the harder they are, so the numbers can be higher at those levels. Stuff in queensdale is going to get 1 shotted by the wind of your greatsword before you can say dragon ba…

You do not buy gems for an extra, you buy gems for the stuff you want to buy for them.

And F2P game make money with micro transactions. B2P games should not focus on micro transactions. It should be a nice extra for them. B2P game should make money on selling the game and expansion.. you know thats why is if B2P.

Only so many people will buy and play the game. There is a peak, then a slope downward because there is no further purchase needed. When large content updates come they do bring in more people, but as you can see they have discounted the price. B2P games do not survive off box sales alone, this is common sense. With all due respect I don’t think you understand business models very well, or how a B2P thrives. And keep in mind it is very possible our expansions will be free, at no cost, and if so you can again thank micro-transactions.

Okay no lasting content. Guild missions last, so you were still wrong about that. And since once you unlock them they’re unlocked and because there are plenty of guilds doing public guild missions, so you can do them without unlocking them, I’d call that a case of ignoring content because you’re not interested in it…which is what it is.

Oh it wasn’t a complaint but more of an observation of something I had not seen before. I already found my secret farm. Also as I said it is making map completion a breeze.

I’m not concerned about the holos. I’ll get those as I play the game. I get plenty of coffers from mobs.

What where the devs thinking? Well weapon skins are out, I will probably never get one of them with the RNG. The special wings are out, because there is no way in H E double hockey sticks that I am going to even attempt to collect that many. The dragon helm, while interesting would probably only take up space in storage, so I guess I will have to settle for the 1 set of wings that we should all get. So now I am not even sure why I should even bother with the dragon bash? Oh well, I guess I can keep farming for enough materials to sell them all cheap and trash the economy. ;-)

About, but I was akitteng alot for rl stuff. You get them other ways than just grinding/farming, the pinatas etc. The chests also guarantee drop them, and they are tradeable. Yes I agree 100,000 is a lot, but it is for an epic prize. If it was just 1000 everyone would have one today, what prestige is there in that? The price should drop and you should be able to buy stacks at a fair price, and there is always the chance of other drops from the chests and mobs.

The thread’s purpose was to discuss the animation of the wings. Which Imo is too frequent and simply annoying. The video was added so people would see what I’m talking about. The video is not about a bug, it’s a preview video for the event that will be coming today that was posted by Guildwars2hub.

It isn’t about posting a “video” which made a moderator move it to the linksville section nor is it about a bug (unless Anet actually considers the animation a bug of content that has yet been released?) for it to be moved to the bug section.

It was a discussion regarding the animation of the backpack. No more, no less.

Once the “Dragon Bash” forum section is up and running. Then that would be the best place to move this thread.

Or it was a compensation for the fact that events/ls have an indirect effect on certain drops from lower populated areas where specific items are obtained from. An argument could be made either way. No matter the reason though, this seems like a good deal.
