Try the Order of Whispers HQ in Bloodtide Coast. I already did it, but had to go back a second time to get my title. For many people, that is a glitchy one.

Could you please attach a pic of it? Many thanks!

Pretty much straight south from LA. The portal takes you to the Order of Whispers HQ. But if anyone there asks, I don’t know you. They might take away my “Lightbringer” title and replace it with “Tattletale”.

Thank you, but I’ve already got that…..
Hopeless now…

Don’t just look… actually GO TO the Order of Whispers. Go through the portal. I “had it” too, but a weird game bug was preventing me from finishing off the title until I actually went back again. I was having your same problem until I saw on the forums that this is a known bug and the known cure.

If you still don’t have any luck, then I would physically travel to each zone individually and look at the completion for that zone. Viewing the whole map and mouse hovering over the region names is not always reliable. (Divinity’s Reach is never right for me.)

Issue with Character Art etc.

As requested by the moderators:

We are going to unsticky this thread due to the frequency of these posts. Many of these issues are so different that it would greatly benefit us if they could be individual specific threads instead of one giant sticky post.

Thank you.

I am interested in a number of the OLDER problems: the line around the waist of the female Humans and Norns. The Asura back weapons dragging on the ground. My Sylvari female’s lazy eye.

Ever since the March topic was unstickied, I haven’t seen any fixes. Are these still being looked into? Art is one of the strengths of this game, but with regard to armor and weapons you still have a lot of work to do.

Honestly put more thought into your trolling please (or preferrably, stop altogether), gollum says other things.

How am I trolling? I honestly never heard of your Hodor character, and the description that was given immediately brought Gollum to mind. He got the name “Gollum” because of the peculiar noise he made all the time. Sure he says other things, but there is a parallel. Who’s trolling?

And more people know who Gollum is; you wouldn’t have to explain it.

But whatever. Kitten was annoying from the start. I would prefer if they just did like comic strips and use a @#%&!$ed up string of symbols.

Please Lower the Volume in Gendarran Fields!

in Sky Pirates of Tyria

Posted by: Hamfast.8719

Hamfast.8719

Even before the S.P.o.T., and before the new waypoint, almost everyone knew something funny was going on in Gendarran Fields. People heard the mechanical sounds from the road passing by, and investigated.

Now that the event is under way, you’ve raised the volume a lot and extended the range clear out to the Ascalon Settlement.

It is too loud!

Please tone it back down to previous levels. We don’t need all that racket to find the place. We already knew about it. Now whenever I cross over that boundary into the noise, I turn right back around and get out of the area. It annoys me THAT much. I can’t hear other important combat sounds.

SUGGESTION: Improving The Weapon Skill Bar

in Suggestions

Posted by: Hamfast.8719

Hamfast.8719

Right now we are limited in our weapon skills. Each profession has preordained skills that they can use when they pick up a weapon.

What if for each of the 5 weapon skill slots, we had our choice of 2 skills? As a dumb example, you can choose between “Slash Foe” and “Stab Foe” for Warrior sword skill #1. You can select either “Parry” or “Knockback” for skill #2, etc. TWO skills to choose from for each weapon skill 1-5.

You could not change weapon slot skills while in combat mode. The ability to SAVE and LOAD weapon skill bars would be very handy (to the point where I’d say it was almost a requirement).

The Guild Wars team would still determine what two skills are available to go in each individual slot. But after GW1 they have the background to balance skills, and I believe they (mostly) know what they are doing in this area.

And just think of the VARIETY! We could actually develop unique BUILDS again if our weapon skills weren’t entirely set in stone. People could take on all sorts of fresh roles.

Sennheiser pc360’s….my god my ears love them

I had turtle beach before these and the reason i changed was the turtle beachs were too bassy, uncomfortable and hot. Sennheiser is a more audiophile oriented company so sound quality comes first. Their pc360 model is geared towards gamers so its the best of both worlds. They sound amazing and are super comfy. They feature an open earcup design (which means the outside of the ear cups are vented which makes them breathe better, my ears never get hot). They also have a cool feature when you move the mic up into its upward position it auto mutes the mic. Makes it super fast in muting the mic as opposed to looking for some inline mute. Downside is they are pricey, but hey you get what you pay for in headphones.

I also have the Sennheiser PC 360’s. Excellent quality and you can wear them comfortably for long weekend marathon sessions. Mine are paired with the Astro MixAmp for pretty good surround sound and the ability to individually adjust the volume of the game and the volume of my chat program on the fly using good old-fashioned knobs. Great music reproduction too, it you get tired of Jeremy Soule and want to listen to your media player.

Norn ale mugs are already about the right size to use for the Cup. Get a raven for your Ranger and just pretend he’s a black hawk. You can even name him Stanley. Get your light armored character the feathered armor set. Maybe buy a hoodie and dye it red, white, and black. Go out and find some brown bears (bruins) to kill. You can probably create a Sylvari that looks a lot like Tommy Hawk. Just use your imagination.

When football season rolls around again, root for my Forty Niners to win it all. Then we can ask GW2 to celebrate their championship by letting us have an in-game GOLD RUSH.

LA has (most) of the holiday stuff currently. Fine.

The pirates are not “holiday stuff”. There is no reason they couldn’t have located them in Bloodtide Coast or another suitable area.

We do not have to “get used to” everything. We have a suggestions forum to have a voice and possibly get things changed. Ranger short bow range

in Suggestions

Posted by: Hamfast.8719

Hamfast.8719

You realize they pretty much fixed the longbow right?

Also: reducing the range on the short bow does not make condition damage builds using the SB obsolete, especially since in most scenarios you are less than 900 units away from your target. I say this because around half your opponents use melee weapons and another portion have ranged at 900 weapons, while PERHAPS 25% use 1200 unit or more ranged weapons. In any case, most fighting does not take place at extreme ranges of your weapons, especially ranged ones since a few steps away will make your skills MISS due to ‘out of range’

I have no objection to eagle eye working with shortbow to increase its range, I just don’t think the base range reduction on SB was unreasonable

Well said. The shortbow probably should have had a 900 range from the beginning. We just feel the pain because they messed up in the first place and let us have 1200 for so long. But I am getting used to it pretty fast. Just like the GW1 shortbows / longbows.

3 Steps To Make Flying Mounts Work

in Suggestions

Posted by: Hamfast.8719

Hamfast.8719

I never played WoW in my life. I watched my brother playing, and it’s just too “cartoony” for my tastes.

I see what you mean with your screenshot. That would indeed put an end to my suggestion if the edge of all zones look like that. Never knew that. I can live with it. Case closed for me unless the game designers want to put in a lot of extra work. (See? I told you I wasn’t a mounts fanboy. I just thought I saw a pretty good compromise to get the mounts people some satisfaction without affecting gameplay).

And a couple of you still gave me the old “we have waypoints so we don’t need mounts” argument. So sad. I never said we NEED anything. Flying by my suggested limitations would be purely for fun. FUN. Not necessity. I never said it “speeds things up”. It is merely another form of recreation. I feel so sorry for you if you can’t see that in a game fun is more important than convenience. Or maybe some of you just read the subject line and spoke up totally ignorant of what I said in the body of my post.

3 Steps To Make Flying Mounts Work

in Suggestions

Posted by: Hamfast.8719

Hamfast.8719

I am not a “mounts fanboy”, and could care less if this idea is ever implemented or not. I just thought it seemed like a good compromise. So with that said, I hope everyone can read on with an open mind.

I am talking specifically about FLYING mounts. They would be pure sightseeing fun, with no influence whatsoever upon the “real” world below, and provide no game advancement advantages to riders.

Consider:

1) Flying Mounts can only be used in zones in which the character has 100% map completion. This prevents mounts being used for speed-mapping. They are limited to PvE, since they could be unfair scouting advantages in WvW.

2) The player can only mount and dismount at waypoints. This prevents using the mount to get Vistas etc. (Perhaps towers could be erected next to all the waypoints where people can land and take off.)

3) While on a flying mount, the player cannot affect or be affected by other players. There would be a minimum altitude to prevent griefing by those sad individuals who might think it enjoyable to block the view of players in a pitched ground battle. The player would have no skill bar, with the possible exception of special maneuvers or skills specific to the mount. Nothing that would affect people below.

That’s it! Sweet and simple. Flying mounts would be purely for pleasure rides and would not interfere with gameplay on the ground. Allow players full reign on where they want to go, but they can’t fly below a certain height except when they come in for a landing at a waypoint. They need to cross to new regions on foot, through the portals. And of course on some maps, and near Vistas, “A strong wind will blow you back if you continue in this direction”.

This would open up freedom for all sorts of mounts, from fast griffins to ponderous air balloon party barges. And none of it would affect people adventuring on the ground. Collecting different mounts would of course be status driven. Quest rewards, Gem Store purchased, Mount Vendors charging various fees in Gold or Karma. Whatever. Fun in the skies, but no interaction with the world below. Just seeing the sights and being seen.

Did I miss anything?

Hamfast.8719

My server seems to have been blessed with a minimum of horn-blowers. I had seen hundreds of complaints here on the forums about people griefing with them, but had never actually heard one until today.

I was visiting the merchant in front of the bank in LA, when suddenly some idiot pink-garbed Asura jumps up on the wall next to me and proceeds to pound two notes over and over. Those things are PIERCING! It was almost physically hurting my eardrums! I couldn’t believe it.

I asked him nicely, “Could you PLEASE blow your horn away from where people are conducting business?” Which of course resulted in a fresh round of painful noisemaking.

I had to leave with my business unfinished. Somebody has GOT to do something about those horns! (Or about those PLAYERS… perhaps the ability to /report for griefing, resulting in increasingly long horn noise bans with each infraction?)

But yes, your thought has been suggested and seconded hundreds of times. They really are loud, aren’t they? Even if the person was playing a nice tune, I would still want to turn it way down!

Mechanical Sounds are WAY Too Loud!

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Hamfast.8719

Hamfast.8719

The Mechanical sounds emanating from the new area in Gendarran Fields are WAY too loud now, and reach out as far as the Ascalon Settlement. When the range was limited to about the road going past, and the volume was lower, pretty much everyone discovered it on their own anyway. So I hope this is not intentional in order to lure people in the right direction.

Please lower the sound level and the range at which you can hear it to the previous settings. It is drowning out other more important sound effects from my immediate vicinity.

Ranger Pets - Stow lock/toggle

in Suggestions

Posted by: Hamfast.8719

Hamfast.8719

No. If you put the pet on peace mode and stow it will come out the millisecond you are back in battle and still be on peace mode. I’m all for a perma-stow option.

SHOULD. I said it should lock him away until you intentionally bring him out. I know that right now nothing keeps him stowed. Take some fall damage and POP… out he comes. Go underwater and there he is. Get a splinter, and he’ll be there to lick your boo-boo.

And if you stow your OWN weapon, it would be nice if that also triggered the “return to me” function. My pet will run off and attack anything up to nearly my range of sight. With the current state of targeting, that means he often goes out to bring home more aggro after the battle is done. If I sheath my weapon, I would like him to heel.

How to Dance, Volume 2

in Suggestions

Posted by: Hamfast.8719

Hamfast.8719

I remember when there were a ton of people calling for more dances. Well GW2 gave us a couple of brief, repetitive steps. Very disappointing. So where’s the uproar? Don’t tell me everyone is now satisfied with the meager offering? I never see anyone using Volume 1, so it can’t be selling well. The only time I see the new steps in-game is to light effigies on fire. A pretty dumb way to light a tree ablaze, but I guess they felt they didn’t want to completely waste the special animation.

I for one look forward to full dance routines if they give us a Volume 2. Duplicating the GW1 Prophecies dances would be a fantastic start, but there was and should be differentiation between the sexes. Male characters should not be doing the sexy female elementalist’s belly dance, and females would not look right doing the male warrior’s pelvic thrust move. But for inviting others to join, everyone should be able to join in on the “Thriller” moves! THOSE dances would sell well in the Gem Store!

The fireworks are soooooo slow to launch. Please remove or seriously shorten the cooldown. You can’t put on a good personal “show” for people with only one “pop” every 5 seconds or more.

And MOST IMPORTANT: make them ACCOUNT BOUND so they stack in my bank.

Where is YOUR Shangri-La?

I kittening love the top floor of the windmill in Queensdale. I go lay down in the bed and play with the cat up there. It’s my home away from home.

I was about to curl up in your bed the other day when I almost got knocked to my knees. It seems someone put up a Holo-Projector nearby and people keep triggering it. Must be one of those contractors for the condominium complex getting ready to start construction next door. It doesn’t seem to bother Fluffy, though.

There are so many, both hard to get to and easy to find. But the earliest spot I found is also the one I return to most often; the treehouse outside Divinity’s Reach. Great pastoral view. Waterfall sounds in the distance. A nice cool breeze makes the shadows of the leaves play across your face. The reflection of the sun/moon sparkling on the water below. The sound of young children playing. Rarely any combat noises in the vicinity. GW1 Pre-Searing music in the background. And very easy and quick to get to. Not too close to civilization, but not too far either.

My Charr Warrior brings his rifle up to his shoulder and sights down the barrel to fire… for all skills except Aimed Shot which is fired from the hip.

Where is your Shangri-La?

Tyria is full of gorgeous vistas and tranquil spots. Do you have a favorite place you like to go to relax? To just take in the scenery? To have a Zen moment or two away from the crowds?

Why do you like it? Is it safe from wandering monsters? Is it easy to get to? Is it hard to get to?

If you aren’t afraid that crowds will begin to invade your hidden sanctum and set up condominiums, please share your favorite place of tranquility and include pictures if you have them!

I can already hear people coming in here to bash my opinion so let me just say this again. I will not tolerate harassment or bullying of any kind for posting my opinion. I will report you.

Oh, you are so funny! You want no opposition in your game and you will tolerate no unkind words in your forums either!

Go to the Godslost Swamp in Queensdale. There are a ton of white-text frogs there that I use to get the Ambient Killer Daily Achievement. You may have to sneak up on them, but a skilled player should be able to one-shot them. Just be careful of those level 14 Skelk! If you aggro one of them, you’d better have a speed boost handy to get away!

Your next best bet is to do what you have already done. Leave the game if you don’t like it. Because they aren’t going to remove downscaling, and they shouldn’t.

Trahearne gives a motivating speech. Crowds cheer. We enter combat full of inspiration, and the first thing he says is “This won’t end well”.

Their faces.. I had a good loud laugh. Praises to you!

I played with several emotes before I found one where my toon looked sick to her stomach. I feel the same way myself just thinking about the 6-7 stacks of virtual candy cluttering up my storage. I only wish my character could pick up a mug of ale like the NPC (who teeters drunkenly I might add!)

The Southsun Beach Diet. Consists of oversized servings of ale, and all the Zhaitaffy you can eat.
