I love my Moot too! When I do use it I go M/F or M/S. Tried M/T, but it just doesn’t work. No synergy between the two.

For the most part you want to do the healway build or x/x/30/30/x AH build. Doesn’t really work with a mediation build.

Biggest problem I have with mace is. Against melee it’s great, but a range opponent is just going to kite you all day, and it’s a pain.

For the most part I just save it for zerg diving, and large WvW fights. Nice part about the mace though it’s a surprisingly hard hitting weapon if you have right gear.

PvE it’s a great weapon since mobs just stand there for the most part. Also great in PvP for holding points.

Makes sense.

I’ve been using Omnomberry, Sigil of Leech/Life/Blood for a couple of days now. Not really a build just some tweaks, and it works great. So I can see how this build would be even better.

Cursed Shore is another good place. Just do the typical event rotation, after that’s done guest to different server. Do the same thing, and just keep guesting between the two servers and your home server.

Why not use one Sigil of Blood, instead of two Leech?

I can’t really tell you what kind of gear you need. Depends on your play style, but I can help point you in the right direction. I threw together this build for you. Solid damage and survivability. It’s only exotics so you don’t have to worry about ascend. You can tweak it more if you choose.

The big reason you don’t see a lot of guards in sPvP. Bunker builds require a decent team. If your team can’t kill anyone, bunker is pointless. You can tank and heal all day, but if your team can’t kill the enemy you are going to lose. Also for the most part 8v8/10v10 is a zergfest, no point in trying to bunker against +4 players without some type of help.

On the flip side Guards own tPvP because you have teammates that know what they’re doing.

I personally play a hybrid build so that I can help no matter what the situation is.

They’re only a couple of thing you can really get:

Titles- For the most part they’re just time sinks. Doesn’t reflect the skill of the player at all. Even the Champion XXX ones are. Play enough tourneys and you’ll get them.

Finishers- You get a new finishing move every ten levels. These are pretty cool. Easily the best reward.

Armor/Weapons- New gear every ten levels, and also from tourney chest. You can only use them in PvP so ya…..

Overall the rewards for PvP are pathetic.

I just want to say thank you for this wonderful guide. However, I do have few concerns and hope you or anyone can provide some insight or constructive feedback on it.

I just returned back to Guild Wars 2 after a long break, so I’m starting over and my Main and Only character is Guardian he just turn level 60.
Soon, I will get him to level 80 and I was wondering, for a new starter without much of financial backup how should I proceed with my end game gears?
I was thinking start with Rare, then Exotic. But this just a simple goal, I was hoping perhaps you could provide some suggestions on what is a good starting point to get gears. Like Perhaps focus on xyz dungeon or farm Karma for a Karma set or mix match Karma set from these locations.

They’re plenty of way to get a full set of exotics once you hit 80. If you saved up a lot of karma, the temples in Orr is the easiest way. You can get trinkets and armor for 42k karma a piece. You’ll have to mix and match, because each piece has different stats. I’ll link a site that shows the stats.

Citadel of Flame is a VERY easy way to get gear and gold. Path 1 you can literally do in 10-15 mins. Path 2 not as fast, but simple. Run this a couple of times, and you should have enough to tokens and gold to get whatever you want. Keep in mind CoF armor and weapons are berserker stats.

S/T really can be run with any type of build. Big thing is gear choice. They’re burst weapons so you need to go more dps focused gear (zerker, knight, and rampager etc.) Going Solider or Cleric isn’t playing to the weapon’s strengths. That being said they’re a few builds that it works better for.

Those are the most common setups for the most part, traits differ on the player.

I personally use S/T with a 0/5/30/30/5 build. It works fantastic because my gear is more dps oriented.

Highest possible tough you can get without banner buff. 54% dmg reduction, which is quite huge.

I feel your pain, just last week I had to grind all 525k karma for my shards. It was the last thing I needed. Such a pain. All I can say is good thing for Southsun Cove champ train. It made it somewhat easier and a lot of loot to boot! Too bad it’s gone now.

The best thing about Smite Condition is pairing it with Monk’s Focus for easy healing; I ran a meditation build for most of 60-80 and liked it fairly well, but I ditched it for an Altruistic Healing build with shouts and consecrations after I hit max level.

It’s one of my favorite utilities. I use it all the time, and I don’t even run a mediation build. Short CD, removes condition, very high dmg, (+4k crits) and also throw in the fact it’s AoE.

It amazes me that this problem has be around for over six months now. Anet hasn’t done anything to fix it.

No point in sending Anet a ticket. Just going to say blah blah it’s your ISP fault blah blah. Worst customer support I’ve seen in while, even EA is better.

It’s nice to see someone try something new, so props for the vid and build. That being said it’s very gimmicky. You are relying on your radiation field to proc, also it has a 120 second cd. Very long for a build that revolves around that. I can see how the Asurans would work better, but 60 seconds is still fairly long.

Best trick for Karka is Line of Warding and Wall of Reflection. Champ and vet Karka always start with a charge. So Line of Warding stops that. After that they try to do their burst projectile thing which hits hard. Wall of Reflection will take out more then half their hp.

Other then that not much I can think of. I just run the standard 0/5/30/30/5, and most of the time it’s a breeze.

If you don’t target dps wars first, they’re going to mess up your team bad. If they’re not dps then nobody really cares about them.

Usually Warriors and Necros are the first to get targeted. One, they’re the easiest to kill most of the time. Two, they tend to be the biggest threat if left alone.

Conditions are going to chew you up. You have one passive remover that’s it. Zero when it’s on CD. Unscathed Contender is extremely gimmicky and bad. Only really works if you go scepter.

I recommend you only put five into virtues, and put the other five into Radiance or Honor. Since you’re using two signets, I’d say Radiance so you could get one of the following; Inscribed Removal, or Perfect Inscriptions.

Also dump Binding Jeopardy for Fiery Wrath. 10% more dmg is going to help a lot much then five stacks of vulnerability which can be cleansed.

Pure of Heart is pretty bad too. Better off going Writ of Exaltation since you are using gs/hammer.

Zerker works great in PvP, it’s actually all I use most of the time. Playing bunker guard is like watching paint dry.

I can Kinda see where op is coming from. Three of my Legendaries I got from playing the tp, other one I took the time to craft.

Crafting was a lot harder and longer. TP I just logged in check my orders, check some other things and that’s it.

With everything said and done I don’t really care. I have the Legendaries and that’s more then enough for me.

They’re no odds really, just RNG. I’ve got precursors from the forge, I’ve also lost a lot of gold from it too.

Best thing to do is just save your gold and buy it.

I don’t see anything wrong with it being a stun breaker.

Maybe change the Elite Focus trait to: Elite skills last longer and break stuns. In case Anet is worried about it being op. Not like anyone uses that trait anyways…..

Like everyone else stated. Sure I can do good on Warrior, but I can just play another class. Do better and it’s easier.

So yes warrior is the problem, and needs help. Only why I even play warrior more then my other classes in pvp is because I enjoy the play style.

For soloing, Renewed Focus is the best. But you need Inspired Virtue to make it worth wild.

Mistfire Wolf is just terrible, 240 cd and bad really really bad. Hounds of Balthazar is superior to it in everyway.

The tomes are more group oriented. Overall Courage is favored over Wrath because of Light of Deliverance.

Sigil of Blood is bugged. It procs at five seconds instead of two.

That being said it’s very strong. Heals for 453 at lvl 80 and scales with healing power. If it wasn’t bugged I’d probably use it.

What does Sword 1h do? Is it ever justified?

1h is the highest single target weapon we have. You can argue and say scepter is, but until they fix the scepter’s auto speed. I’m going to say no.

As of right now no. Just go to Southsun, and follow the zerg train. Get better loot, more karma, and it’s a lot easier.

Once the whole living story thing is over then ppl will go back to Orr.

You’re not going to get any help for the most part, hate to say it. This problem has been around since January. (Huge thread couple of pages back)

Pretty much I’d get this error every 10 to 30 mins, with random lag spikes. I tried everything; contacting my isp and Anet customer support, new modem, and etc. Nothing worked. Eventually it just stopped, and I didn’t have a problem. Now it’s back again. I’m pretty sure it has something to do with patches because that’s when it always comes back for me. Like in a few weeks it’ll be gone again.

Pretty much sending Anet a ticket is all you can do.

I’m very happy with the sword, but it could use some tweaks.

Chain 3 of the auto attack bugs sometimes.

Flashing Blade I don’t have a problem with. More of the mobility/defensive tool, which I like.

Zealot’s Defense is very good when it hits. Problem is getting it to hit sometimes. Non-root I don’t agree with. It’s already very powerful, and this would put it over the top. Maybe increase the range to 900.

For a vulnerability build your best bang for your buck would probably be;

20/25/0/25/0

Traits being:

Fiery Wrath
Binding Jeopardy
Blind Exposure
Inner Fire
Writ of Exaltation
Writ of Persistence

Only problem is you’re going to be squishy squishy.

I hate to be that guy, but please don’t come back to FC. I still remember in December you xfer to FC saying you’re going to help out and blah blah. Just recruiting people and a week later you all xfer to Kain. lol

I finished crafting Rodgort the other day. It’s easily the best looking torch, but I do have some idea on how to make it better.

I thought the footsteps would be similar to Incinerator, but they’re a lot smaller and less noticeable. They’re both flame weapons don’t see why they can’t use the same pattern.

Also when I use my torch skill I’ll throw a dragon instead. This is very cool, problem is it’s small and hard to notice. Please make it slightly larger.

Overall I’m very happy I crafted it, but these tweaks would make it more legendary.

The reason people hate them is because you can’t max/min your gear. Most people want to be all out dps or all out tanky.

I personally use x6 Divinity runes and 3 celestial trinkets on my guard. It’s great. Working on getting more.

Ya, zerker works great for small group and roaming. Bigger fight you just have to be a bit more careful, but still viable.

Ya, it’s pretty dumb tbh. You can’t even get accessories for badges either.

Something like five laurels and 1000 badges is more then fair I think.

Healing power is extremely viable, problem is it scales low. For it to be effective you need to get it around 800ish, once you get there your dodge will heal for almost 1000. Plus it boost all your AH heals too.

Yes you can replace it if you choose too, you’ll just lose some survivability.

I run Sigil of Life and some celestial trinkets. Which makes it easy, so I can focus on other stats.

When it comes down to it. You just have to take the time to tweak your gear. Not one gear set up is superior to another. You just have to find what suits you and your play style. Like what I use might not work for others.

This guide is just a general layout to give people a start. Once you have the fundamentals down then you can tweak the hell out of it. To find what suits you best.

If you’re doing a RHS build you’re better of going 10/30/30/0/0.

Cavalier stats is a great way to increase crit dmg and maintain higher survivability.

No point in a reset until separate ques.

More people is always effective. Take WW2 for example. Germans where better trained and equipped then the Russians. Russians won because they kept throwing more people at the problem.(Yes, I know that’s not the only reason they won, but it was a big help.)

Pure of Voice and Soldier runes is a bit overkill. Especially when it comes to pve.

Magi is pretty good if you don’t go full. I’d say just get the weapon, and the rest of your gear mix it.

The thing about that screenshot is it has buffs, this one I just posted has zero. So it’s a huge improvement in a lot of areas. Only thing I really lost was vit and tough, but that’s to be expected when you go dps.

As for youtube video, its pretty much the same just some different traits. Don’t really understand his gear though. He only has about 200 more vit then me and that’s really it. He’s still in exotics though, so that could also be the reason.
