“fake information”
… or, the real information of the previous owner. Ever had a major IP change? That’ll be fun to prove.
HoT seems like it’s going to feature highly mobile combat, forcing movement, as seen even now with the newer enemies. You’ll still be able to stack however, you’ll just have to be far more coordinated. Zerker will always be the best choice for skilled players, but everyone else wearing it will likely find themselves dying a lot. I wouldn’t be surprised if people complain about the difficulty of new areas, believing groups are required, in the same way some people couldn’t manage the living story episodes.
Complaining about zerker/etc because of old content is pointless. I doubt HoT will feature dungeons however since ArenaNet turned away from them. Instead, there’ll probably be open world challenges designed for groups (ArenaNet seems like they’re trying to be very inclusive), which bad players will of course believe is zerg content and scaling doesn’t exist.
“Gw2 abondonded the holy trinity to become…just dps?”
The goal was to be able to do and bring whatever you wanted. Bring the player, not the character.
It’s literally gotten to a point where people are stating that certain classes are sub par and should not be taken for optimal dps. How is this better?
If you’re min/maxing, something is always going to be better than something else unless everything is exactly the same. Every MMO is like this if you’re truly trying to optimize, like a world 1st progression guild.
surely they cant get passed the authenticator
They can if your computer or personal information is compromised. The secret key could have been stolen by monitoring your web activity or keylogging it and they can attempt to remove the authenticator by contacting support.
If you changed your password and they were still getting in, either you were using guessable passwords (for example, going from password1 to password2), they were using the forgot password option, in which case your password should have changed, or you’re infected by a type of keylogger. Not all anti-virus software will detect keyloggers, especially if they’re designed for a specific purpose and/or not actually a keylogger. For example, your web browser could be infected or if you’re using the -password option, that’s easy to steal and no anti-virus will detect that type of software. Unless you know what you’re doing and want to comb through all of your processes, personally, I’d always recommend reformatting if you think you’re infected.
Check your email. If a feature like automatic forwarding has been set up, they have access to your emails without actually having access to it.
All elementalists should have been up front prior to Jormag landing (anyone that can range attack the wall can probably hit harder than those guns). Stack might and begin with Meteor Shower, finishing the cast as Jormag lands and the wall is formed. Negate the first fear, Frost Bow AoE, then proceed with normal fire staff attacks, or if locked, chain lighting, which will hit the wall twice. You can use healing rain to setup a cleanse for the fear, if nothing else is available. The fiery greatsword can be used to triple hit Jormag, which if I remember correctly, was around 20k in total per attack, though I’ve never bothered to check which is higher (vs staff). During phase 2, conditions are king until the ice is down and it only takes a small group to deal with the icicles.
Just saying, the video doesn’t really show anything special other than a non-AFK zerg and it looks like it’s your first time standing in the middle. You could probably easily shave off another minute by optimizing or even more if you can trigger its phase 2 vulnerable stage immediately after it lands.
It is extremely unlikely that they will offer compensation. It’s not like they compensate people when they screw with markets or destroy investments overnight.
It would be far more likely that they’d implement a system where instead of tacking on extra stats to gear, they let you choose exactly which stats you want.
Guild wars 2 is intended to be different than that. Anet said countless times that they want the “journey to be the goal” rather than grinding new stuff to be able to play the new content.
So ArenaNet should offer refunds every time they implement a new stat combo or release a new elite specialization? It is not guaranteed that the stats you have chosen will be ideal forever.
The password field appears as ****** in gray if the password is saved.
As a small test, delete the file %appdata%/Guild Wars 2/Local.dat and if it exists,
Documents/Guild Wars 2/Local.dat. This is where your saved login info is stored, along with a few other hardware-related settings.
After deleting those files, run Gw2.exe directly without using a shortcut. There should be a small download as the Local.dat file under %appdata% is recreated. Enter your email and password, check remember password, click login (don’t play) and then click the X button once you’ve successfully logged in to close the launcher. Run Gw2.exe again to see if your login was remembered.
If it didn’t remember it, try again by right clicking Gw2.exe and running it as an administrator.
If it still didn’t remember it, I would guess there’s a problem with how they store it and either your OS or email/password combo is the cause of the bug. You could try creating a new Windows user account (Control Panel > User Accounts) to ensure that your current Windows account isn’t bugged. You could also try running the launcher from safe mode.
ArenaNet’s just giving people what they want. People complained about the living story, so ArenaNet’s testing an expansion. What if instead of slowly releasing a season over a year, they were to instead hold everything back for a year and release it all at once? The lack of recent updates is standard for an expansion and they’re probably intentionally not bringing back other events so that they can gauge feedback – who complains more. ArenaNet likes doing surveys like this.
Moving forward however, I would expect to see them stick with expansions and feature smaller living stories and the reoccurring events to fill the time in between them. An expansion simply generates more press and the announcement of HoT was a boost in player numbers.
i suspect the Elite Spec will require many more hero points than the core specs because it will also have various skins and likely the skills spread in it
They might also go with a vertical progression style implementation where they bloat the numbers. What if the elite spec cost ~200+ hero points to unlock? The trick is that all skill challenges in HoT would be worth more whereas all existing skill challenges are only worth 1 point.
If they do that, playing through the new areas will be required to unlock it, though you’ll likely have to anyways assuming there’s a story behind it. If they don’t do that however, the first elite spec will be quickly acquired and they’ll be able to fit in another one before limiting them to expansions only. In the end, it’s the same – you’re required to play through the new content, as if they raised the level cap.
Basically, does GW2 have a stat grind or does it not?
The increased stats on ascended doesn’t matter for the most part, but it does serve a very specific purpose.
Back at launch, people were level 80 within a few days, in full exotics the day after and had all dungeons completed by the end of the month. The endgame was far too casual for a lot of the people coming from other MMOs and expecting something similar. The purpose of ascended gear was to basically stall for time, to give these people something to do. Fractals were for the same purpose, which were meant to be an endless grind. The increase in stats is for the people who were looking for the standard endgame of more powerful gear. ArenaNet was actually planning on furthering this treadmill using infusions as gear progression, which was mentioned in one of the AMAs, but they’ve since stopped after the first set.
I would assume that most of those people are gone however, so there’s really no point in the increase in stats. However, it still fills that purpose, which is to stall for time. People who need that stat progression will have to spend time acquiring it. During this time, the hope is that they learn how to simply play the game.
Does GW2 have a stat grind? Not really considering it’s a 1 time thing, but if you want to ignore that, then yes, but only for those trying to play WoW or people who lose in WvW with the mindset that they only lost because their opponent had better gear.
Assuming you’ve already completed it, you could just start the episode and skip directly to The Mystery Cave. After that, you only need to do the short event to unlock the door, then you can just ignore everything else and simply run through the cave.
A while ago, I had to replace my video card. At the time, my computer wasn’t overclocked, so I did a small FPS test in Lion’s Arch.
Going from a 570 GTX to 770 GTX, I gained 5 FPS.
Overclocking an i7 2600K from 3.4 GHz to ~4.7 GHz, I gained 20 FPS.
And rest assured there will be a pre-purchase for HoT since there was one for the launch of the game itself.
A pre-order version was also offered, both digitally and for the boxed version. Pre-purchases were given a 3 day headstart whereas pre-orders were only given a 1 day headstart. Pre-ordering was only available from retailers.
Technically Pre-order is the correct terminology
A pre-purchase is the same thing as a pre-order, except you pay upfront. ArenaNet will likely only offer digital pre-purchases whereas pre-orders and boxed copies will only be available through retailers.
Second, ignore Healix instruction about the confirmation e-mail, as it was confirmed by ArenaNet on this forum the no confirmation e-mails sent out, if anyone received one, well, well it wasn’t from A.net. If NCSoft sent one, that’s for something else entirely.
Create a new email account and try it yourself. There was a confirmation email back in 2011 when I first signed up and there’s still one today. There is however NO confirmation email if you were already registered.
The confirmation email looks like this. The confirmation link directs here:
http://guildwars2.ncsoft.com/subscribe/confirm.htm
What Gaile said was simply wrong:
For those asking about a confirmation e-mail in relation to a newsletter subscription, I want to mention that I asked our newsletter person about this, and he said that the note indicating that a confirmation mail would be sent was in error. If you signed up for the newsletter, you’re subscribed. If you were previously receiving our GW2 newsletters, you’re subscribed. No confirmation will be sent in relation to an existing or new newsletter subscription.
Perhaps they don’t even realize that they’re using NCSoft’s mailing service. I can confirm however that failing to accept the confirmation email will result in no newsletters being received.
If you have the portal, you don’t actually need to be subscribed to the newsletter.
To confirm whether you’re subscribed or not, try signing up again. If you see this, you’re properly subscribed. If however you see this, you’re not subscribed until you click the confirmation link in the email sent to you.
Even if you’re subscribed though, you might not actually get the newsletters. NCSoft in general has problems sending emails. The last newsletter I’ve received was sent on April 28th.
Trying to remove an authenticator from an active account looks suspicious. If you wouldn’t have logged in after creating the ticket, you probably wouldn’t have had any problems removing it.
If they think you’re not the actual owner and you’re phishing, I suppose you could ask them if you could confirm your ticket in-game. For example, maybe you could send an in-game mail to a GM including the ticket number.
and nop my question was if i can use the authenticator on other mobile with the same chip on a way to get my code
When you originally setup the authenticator, you were shown a key which you had to input into the authenticator app. If you still have access to that key, that’s all you need to setup your authenticator wherever you want. How an authenticator works is fairly simple. It just takes that key and combines it with a timestamp. In the future, write down this key and put it somewhere safe.
To recover that key from your phone, you would need to recover its internal storage. Assuming it’s not the cause of the failure, you would basically need another identical phone and then swap that specific component. Being a small device however, that component is generally built-in to the board and swapping it would prove very difficult if not impossible. It wouldn’t be worth it if the phone’s internals were actually damaged.
The challenge being you actually had to interact with the game world rather than afk-ing those spots.
Meanwhile, I’m standing in the middle casually dodging all the stuff and cleansing/breaking the fear when appropriate while also doing far more damage than anyone with a gun. Sadly, I’m usually the only one, standing alone with a frostbow by my side.
Interrupting the shield skill was a bug and people exploited that. Why they finally fixed it now after several years, who knows. I’d guess it was unintentionally fixed due to fixing something else.
The fear wasn’t always spammed. That’s likely a bug, especially considering it’ll throw two sets of crystals, though only one appears. Originally, the fear only happened once in a while to refresh the crystals. I’d guess they intentionally broke it back then to try to fear people into the crystals.
As for the AFK spots, they should have just increased the size of the attacks to include the edges. Back when they updated the encounter, they did remove the phase 2 AFK spot. I doubt it’ll ever get changed though, since being a dragon minion, they’ll probably revamp the entire encounter like Tequatl whenever they get around to the Shiverpeaks arc.
It is very likely that HoT will follow the trend and feature even more mobile combat. ArenaNet has been slightly increasing the difficulty since launch with every major content release, so I doubt they’d make it easier.
The living story is meant to be entirely soloable, including the achievements, which are meant to be an equivalent to a hard mode. Unfortunately however, groups are allowed to trivialize the achievements, making their hard mode appeal rather pointless.
GW2 isn’t a gear based game. That means the difficulty is increased by making actual challenges, compared to artificial difficulty created by a higher stat requirement. The side effect of skill based difficulty is that some people will simply never be able to overcome these challenges, whereas to some others, these same challenges may be trivial. The Mystery Cave for example should take around 10 minutes to complete and all you really do the entire time is run in circles.
The most you could probably hope for is for them to implement a “story mode” for the episodes in the same way that SAB featured an infantile mode. The only purpose of it would be to see the story.
@Healix i get the last picture you added…so that means it worked? Maybe i signed up before the game even released and i completely forgot.
The last image is what you would see if you’re successfully registered. You should be receiving the newsletter if you see this.
The first image is what you would see if you’re not fully registered. Even if you’ve signed up, you’ll continue to see this until you’ve clicked the confirmation link in the email.
There does seem to be something wrong with how they send out the newsletters however. I’ve been signed up since 2011 for example and stopped receiving them shortly after. Once in a while, I would start receiving them again for a few weeks, about once a year. I just recently started receiving it again and also signed up on various other accounts just to track it.
@Helix for me it never worked like that. If i type in 10 times my email it just says “Thank you for bla bla”..each time. Never indicates if it worked or not. No confirmation email etc.
If you were originally signed up for the GW2 newsletter, the HoT newsletter is the same thing. Some people have reported however that they had never been signed up before and received the newsletter without ever receiving a confirmation. Personally however, I’ve always received one.
Here’s some screenshots as an example (signing up, confirmation email, trying again):
You can check if you’re subscribed by trying to sign up again. If you’re subscribed, it’ll simply say thanks. If you’re not however, it’ll say that a confirmation email has been sent, which you’ll need to confirm to actually receive the newsletter.
Yes like the re-stat after MF gear was removed, and this is why I personally expect they will allow stat changes with the new trait system, since they have already set that precedent…
Celestial simply had its magic find stat removed.
Back in the BWEs:
It was just never a priority and likely never will be, especially after custom arenas. If you count costume brawl though, they did implement open world dueling.
NVIDIA GeForce GT755M is not an integrated graphics card.
Some laptops have both an integrated and dedicated GPU. The 755M is your dedicated GPU. As I was saying, if you also have an integrated GPU, try disabling it through your laptop’s software or directly through the BIOS. GW2 has caused problems in the past for people with auto switching GPUs, especially with Windows 8.
Try running Gw2.exe under compatibility mode – Win7 and XP.
The error posted above was caused by nvumdshim.dll failing to access memory, which is a part of NVidia’s drivers. It might be nothing, it could be bad drivers or a memory problem.
For gmail, check the spam and promotions folder.
You can check your subscription status by trying to subscribe again. If it states that a confirmation email has been sent, you’re not subscribed until you accept it. If it just says thanks, you’re subscribed.
The last newsletter I saw was sent April 28 (Starting Today: Claim Your Spot in the Next Heart of Thorns Closed Beta).
There’s really no point in trying to hide your location from a single person. It’s not that hard to get a second account, and you’ll never know about it.
I’ve heard that if you leave invisible status on, the next time you log on it won’t tell them, but I don’t know for sure.
Yes. If you logout while invisible, you will login invisible. People with game messages enabled will not be notified when you login.
Your guild will be able to see the change in last login time according to wiki.
Yes, however you can trick the system by never logging out. The last login time is updated when you close the game. If you really wanted to, simply leave the game on character select instead of logging out.
It used to be that even if you were invisible, if someone friended you they could see the map names update and change when you change maps. Again, I don’t know if this is still true.
While invisible, your location is blank under friends, blocked and guild lists. However, your actual location can be seen in the tooltip. An actual offline player is displayed as “Unknown”
(edited by Healix.5819)
If you want to save your screenshots, look under your documents for a “Guild Wars 2” and “Guild Wars” folder. If you’ve had GW1 for several years, also look in the folder where GW1 is installed for older screenshots and build templates.
If you want to save yourself a download, the core files for GW2 are Gw2.exe and Gw2.dat. For GW1, Gw.exe and Gw.dat. If you copy those files, you’ll be able to start the game without having to download the game.
The default location of Local.dat is %appdata%/Guild Wars 2/Local.dat
Since you’re on a laptop, I’m assuming you also have an integrated GPU? Disable it, or if it’s an option, specify which one to use.
You can try forcing windowed mode using Gw2.exe -windowed
If you’ve rarely done it, update your graphics drivers.
The vast majority of players are “banned” from the forums. Everyone that hasn’t logged in to the forums before has not accepted the agreement and thus cannot access them.
If they were going to reject people for not being able to access the forums, that would include most people. Regardless, you can use the in-game tool to submit beta reports. If you still want to leave feedback, post it on reddit or gw2guru – the devs are also there.
Lastly, what you do on the forums can affect your game account, but only in extreme cases.
You’re allowed to, but you’re sharing an IP and that is the risk. If ArenaNet sees a large amount of bots/hackers/etc using a certain IP, they will simply ban everyone linked to it and sort it out later. You would be temporarily banned, but not permanently.
This isn’t a common occurrence however and is rather quite rare.
Locate Gw2.dat. It should be ~20 GB and in the same folder as Gw2.exe.
If you installed the game using Gw2Setup.exe and it didn’t ask you where to install it, it would have automatically installed to your %temp% folder. Like the name implies, files in this folder are not safe.
If you know where you installed the game however and Gw2.dat is there, check that drive for errors. Under Computer, right click the drive, select properties, then select the tools tab and look for error checking. Scan the drive for errors, including bad sectors.
If you have access to your old computer, simply copy Gw2.dat and place it in the same folder as Gw2.exe.
Have you tried using the mouse without having Logitech’s software installed? Completely uninstall it, including any drivers.
There is nothing you can do except wait for support. The first reply is automated, and the expected wait time for an actual response is within 7 days.
I would like to add, I have been playing on this computer for a long time and have barely anything installed on it. Why now would they detect something on it all of a sudden?
Your ban would have been based on something you did in-game, not what software you’re running.
If you bought gems lately using real money, your bank/etc might have accidentally refunded them, which causes your account to be banned for fraud. Other than that, if you’re sure you didn’t do anything remotely bad or suspicious, your account could have been compromised.
Yes, you can just copy Gw2.dat from Win7 to Win8.
Check the disk of the computer you’re copying it to. Open Computer, right click the drive, select properties, then check the drive for errors under the tools tab. If the disk has errors, you won’t notice while writing, however when trying to read it back, it’ll fail.
Instead of trying to run Gw2.exe after copying, try Gw2.exe -repair
In the future, create a backup. Either write down the secret key or print out the QR code. With either of these, you can recreate your authenticator anywhere you want.
Map out what you’re planning on achieving:

Hero Points & old characters: breach of trust
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Healix.5819
“Old skill points in excess of those earned by leveling and skill challenges will be converted into crafting materials for the Mystic Forge,” sayeth Part II of their blog posts.
First, let’s categorize skill points. There are two types, ones that were legitimately earned and those that were farmed. Legitimate skill points were those that were earned while leveling (not to be confused with gaining XP at 80) and those obtained through skill challenges. Farmed skill points include everything else, which were originally only gained by gaining XP at 80, then later, skill scrolls. The new system is simply returning to the original system, minus skill points for leveling at 80.
What the above is saying is that farmed skill points will be converted into a mystic forge currency whereas legitimate skill points are being converted into hero points.
“Old skill points in excess of those earned [legitimately] will be converted into crafting materials…”
Get it? “in excess of those earned [legitimately]” means those that were farmed.
The new system is quite simple.
HOWEVER, I am rewatching the Ready Up and ~13mins in, Jon speaks specifically about completing 65 skill challenges. I took that to be a worst case scenario for, like, a recently purchased account with little access to sp scrolls.
That was correct. You will need 65 skill challenges completed and be level 80 to have all 465 points required for the core specializations. The assumption however is that 1 skill challenge = 1 hero point, when perhaps level 80 skill challenges might be worth more. I suspect that moving forward, that’s how they’ll balance it, for example, with HoT skill challenges awarding the most. Eventually there’ll come a point where you’ll have to play the new areas to get enough points to unlock the new specialization – that’s what they want.
Under the new system, skill point scrolls will award 1 mystic forge currency instead.
Seems to me it would take very little effort for the devs to allay — or confirm — the concerns expressed here and in similar threads.?
Ask tomorrow’s PoI stream.
If levelling up gives all the hero points you need to unlock everything, what then would be the point in hero challenges in the core game? They would be completely pointless
In the core game, hero challenges are already practically useless, assuming they evenly distribute the points while leveling, rather than giving you ~200 at 80. You’ll pick your favorite spec and have ~100 points left to spend without doing a single hero challenge. Really, the only purpose of them is to get points faster. The core game is over however, so having too many points doesn’t actually matter.
Every solution will have a catch. Let’s say that unlocking an elite specialization will cost 100 hero points. If they changed leveling from 400 to 465, they would change that elite specialization from 100 to 165. It’s simply a trick to get people complaining about losing progress to lose focus.
They did say that, but it’s not true. You will receive a confirmation email if you’ve never been registered. If you fail to accept it, you will not receive any newsletters. I’ve already tested and confirmed this. Perhaps they actually meant that you didn’t need to confirm it to get yourself added to the beta sign up, though the page states otherwise.
You can easily test if you’re signed up and confirmed by simply signing up again. If you’re not signed up, it’ll state you’ve been sent a confirmation email. If you are however, it’ll just thank you.
The answer to that scenario (while still keeping everything simple) might be to allow players to reset their skills and traits when in a state of negative hero points.
Ok, but the catch is, you’re only allowed to reset your progress prior the launch of HoT.
Everyone that was grandfathered in would basically have everything unlocked by default. The system is linear, so it’s simply easier to unlock everything than to support holes. Since everything is already unlocked, there’d be no reason to reset your progress.
The purpose was to keep your progress. You can’t choose to reset that progress in favor of unlocking new progress (elite spec). If they actually allowed you to fully reset your progress as long as you had negative points, why would you ever want points? Keep them negative and enjoy having everything you want unlocked whenever you wanted.
If ArenaNet does anything, they’ll take the simplest solution. Simply change 1-80 from 400 to 465 points. Expect a catch however to balance it out.
As a solution for WvW-only players, I suspect that 1 skill challenge will be worth 5 points, assuming they’re not intentionally wanting them to PvE. If they did that, completing all of them would be worth those missing 65 points and the new borderland would unlock the new elite.
From ArenaNet’s point of view, they shouldn’t be able to tell the difference between an actual email and an alias. That’s kind of the point of an alias.
I’m guessing the problem is with the +, which isn’t a standard character. When a + is decoded for the web, it’ll get converted to a space. I’m guessing that’s what’s happening, or their sender is simply rejecting it because it’s not an expected character.
-
After testing GMail specifically, I was able to send a newsletter confirmation to myself using an alias. It was however sent to the spam folder.
(edited by Healix.5819)
Unlearning skills/traits to use the new system sounds more like ill-conceived implementation of a poorly thought design.
That’s what they’ll simply do. You’ll have 0 traits, healing, utility and elite skills unlocked after the change. You will be given hero points based on your level and the number of skill challenges you’ve completed. It’s the simplest and easiest implementation.
There’s really no point in grandfathering people in because even with 0 skill challenges completed, you’re only missing 65 points. 65 points is the equivalent of 13 skills, minor or major traits. You’re not using all of these traits and skills now, so why even care that you’ll basically be missing a single trait line and one skill after the patch?
Negative hero points is actually a bad solution. Instead of being given the choice to unlock what you want, you’re now forced to do 65 skill challenges before you can begin working on new specializations.
They could pretend that you’ve already completed skill challenges, but that would add dirty code into the system which will have to stay there forever.
Rather than implementing any of these dirty solutions, they would simply grant you 465 hero points from leveling instead. The catch however is that the elite specialization’s cost would increase to compensate, which is currently 85 hero points, assuming 5 skills and 1 trait line at the standard 5 point unlock rate.
You’re referenced as the commander still and you do eventually meet up with the Pact and Trahearne, but the Pact is now fully controlled by him while you’re off on other adventures. During one of the episodes when you meet up, you can ask him about your duties.
Besides, if you were still by Trahearne’s side, you would have probably…
Compared to the personal story however, I guess it’s actually the same. Trahearne was always in control while you went off on special missions. That’s basically how your role continues to be played out once you meet up, with Trahearne asking you to do stuff.

How much extra work am I going to have to do under the new system to make each one of those characters equal to what they are now?
If you only unlock what you need, you will be able to unlock everything you actually plan on using under the new system without doing anything extra. If you want to unlock everything however, you will need to have 65 skill challenges completed, which will probably take 2-3 hours or running around. You have around 3 months to casually do this, assuming a late summer release.
If you further want to have enough hero points to unlock the elite specialization, you will need to complete an additional ~85 skill challenges.
To get a better idea of what you might be missing if you choose to not complete 65 skill challenges, each skill, minor or major trait is worth 5 points. 65 points would be worth 13 unlocks. A single trait line for example is 12 unlocks (60 points).
(edited by Healix.5819)
The bundle isn’t gone, it’s under the upgrades tab. The bundle is 20% cheaper than buying the episodes individually.
If you only want to see the story, you can join someone else’s instance for free. You will not receive any rewards or achievements however.
As for being the Pact’s commander, you’ve basically retired.

I don’t really understand the confusion. Perhaps I am missing something. you’ll get 400 points for being level 80 and 1 point per skill (hero) challenge you’ve completed.
A small minority of people chose to grind/craft/tomes to level and as a result, has 0 skill challenges completed. Now they’re upset that they’re required to complete 65 skill challenges to unlock all core skills and traits, even though the base 400 points is enough to unlock everything they plan on using. They feel that since they have already unlocked these core traits/skills, they should be automatically unlocked in the new system. However, if ArenaNet did that, these people would have -65 hero points and be forced to do skill challenges anyways, assuming they want the new specializations.
Just wait until even more specializations are released and eventually 100% of skill challenges in the world are needed.
If the ticket is older than 7 days, you can post the ticket number in:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/GW2-Tickets-for-Review-7-days-older
You can try a different patch server using the -assetsrv option. Here’s a sample:
Gw2.exe -assetsrv 174.35.52.174
Note that GW2 uses a CDN, which they do not control, to deliver patches. The IP will change eventually.
If you want to override 64.25.40.119 specifically, that’s cligate.101.ncplatform.net. For this, you’ll need to edit your hosts (c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts) file as an administrator, adding a line to the end. Here’s a sample:
64.25.40.116 cligate.101.ncplatform.net
