One of the problems with difficulty is the huge gap between professions. Certain (regular, non-vet) enemies can hit for upwards of 15k. To a glass elementalist with 11k health, everything is deadly. To a glass necro however, with ~40k effective health, that same hit goes unnoticed, allowing them to play casually.
They should have also stuck with no stats like GW1, so everyone was roughly equal. Zerkers vs nomads only screws over scaling, which is why zergs have a much easier time since scaling isn’t balanced for zerkers, nor the huge damage increase from buffs.
As for the next expansion, I would expect it to be at least similar to season 3, whereas HoT specifically went for zerker enemies. If they were going to cater to both sides however, they would either add vertical progression or nerf old content. ArenaNet has always been for the gamers, so I’d expect the difficulty to increase, but not offering an alternative will be bad for business.
One of the problems is that they try to prioritize certain players. When a certain population is reached, they’ll split instances by server groupings and the old overflow logic seems to kick in, where popular servers have their own chain. They basically cap a map at 50%, where only people from the owning server(s) can get in normally, up to 75%, at which point only groups can get it.
If I show up late to a world boss for example and get into a dead map, I can usually guest to one of the popular servers to get into an active one. That’s an obvious failure of the system.
How do you know? If you’re relying on IP geolocation, it’s because GW2’s IPs are registered to NCSoft US.
This was most likely designed for their release on the Asian market, and, I’d wager, at the request of NCSoft in Korea.
SAB’s Back to School event came out a few months later, so it was likely created for that.
you only get one restoration per account
That was their old policy for restoring an account, back when they couldn’t restore individual characters.
GW2 doesn’t modify the system, so if Windows continues to crash after restarting, your drive could be damaged. Windows will freeze for several minutes when attempting to read a bad section of a drive, which will then either crash or recover. If you can get into Windows, right click the drive > properties > tools > error checking and scan the drive for bad sectors, which will take hours. If you can’t, you’ll need to use chkdsk in recovery mode.
What are we missing? I never got a box with my copy so I can’t check.
Nothing, the box doesn’t say much.
The school uniform was datamined around the same time the sclerite stuff came out. They knew what they were doing.
I doubt ArenaNet would have a problem with showing the health bars of your own party. The problem is with using it to mark every possible target on screen, which is a common cheat found in various games to quickly identify priority targets or see through walls, stealth, etc.
To make it legal, you can use the open mumble data to gather positional data and have each client communicate it with each other. Health can either be calculated by pixel reading or through the combat log. Reading it from memory is simply a convenience.
9 legendaries left but only 2 more episodes …. hmm
Technically, they never promised the 16 legendaries before the next expansion. They originally stated that they would be released in regular intervals until the full 16 were added. They removed that statement back when they suspended them, so now it only states that HoT has the original 3.
They’ll likely continue to be released on the 2-3 month schedule. I doubt the next expansion will have another set, so they’ll probably stop at episode 6 and continue with the next expansion.
you know July 2nd will be the first window in their 2-3 month schedule? June is just 1 month later
They have 3 teams working on 6 month schedules. If they’re aiming for a specific date, episode 6 could launch as early as June 6 on the original schedule. After all, there is no episode 7, so it doesn’t matter that team 2 was delayed. However, an expansion reveal in June likely isn’t a smart idea, as it’d be competing with ESO’s expansion, which advertisers will likely be focused on. It’d be better if they announced it with episode 5, otherwise episode 6 should be around mid-July to mid-August.
So if I am not mistaken its the method of knowing the total health which is bad?
Yes. If you’re solely looking at the in-game combat log, you can’t determine the exact health of your target. They’re only allowing the use of data that is normally available. They should have never officially allowed memory reading. Their combat log is just so bad they probably couldn’t implement the basic option of dumping it to a text file.
The other problem with the health bars is that it was more than just health bars, it was a basic radar implementation. To make it legal, everyone would need to be running the app to share their own information with each other.
Looks like it’s now on sale
It’s not a sale. They permanently dropped the price. The funny thing is, it’s been hovering around $30 for over a year now at official 3rd party retailers; DLGamer.us for example.
It seems odd to drop the price now, considering the next expansion will likely be revealed within the next 3 months. They offered 5 months of refunds when HoT was first available for pre-purchase. Either the next expansion is over a year out, they’re no longer going through with their 1 box model, or maybe the pricing rumor was true.
Episode 5 isn’t out yet, so when it says there’s 2 left, it means 5 and 6.
The raid team mentioned training new hires for the living world.
So if we put that in perspective, we have retailers that sell gemcards for the game, of which the developers (aka Anet) does not even provide on the website..
They don’t sell the physical products themselves.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/gems-cards-now-available-at-select-retailers/
Episode 5 will likely be May 2, which should be revealed tomorrow along with a possible sale.
Probably, considering EU cards can be used in NA.
If LS3 truly is meant to be smaller than LS2, then that means we’ll get 7 episodes at most, with common belief being that it’ll end at 6 (because it’s a round number). We’re also getting episode 5 possibly in 1-2 weeks, and we know that one is going to be bigger than normal.
The episode count isn’t important. Seasons were originally intended to play out over the course of a year. They have 3 teams working on season 3, hence the belief of there being 6 episodes.
Teams 1 and 3 (bloodstone and jormag) are basically already done their stories. Team 2 will likely be following up on Marjory’s investigation of Lazarus, which should reveal his goal, which will likely involve the next expansion. Alternatively, Palawa Joko suddenly busts in and season 3 was just a distraction.
This morning both of our accounts were suspended.
That generally happens when your payment fails.
How long can we expect to wait for a response?
1-3 days.
Are we able to get a refund if this is not resolved?
If purchased through buy.guildwars2.com or through the in-game store. ArenaNet has a 30-day refund policy.
Contrary to some eager voices on the forums, we’re unlikely to get the expac before Q3 2018 anyway, so…
Season 3 would have to run for another cycle in that case. One of their goals was to reduce the downtime, not increase it.
I wouldn’t count on ArenaNet rushing out the remaining legendaries. They simply have no reason to do so and continuing to release them into the next expansion is no different than what they’re already doing now. Season 3 is not HoT. Assuming they don’t simply abandon them when they’re done, legendaries will likely be removed from expansions and kept on their own schedule, allowing for a full set every 2-3 expansions.
No, in my opinion it is bad marketing to ask new players for money to follow the main story.
It’s really no different than buying each individual expansion in other MMOs. Normally the seasons would have simply been sold as DLC from the start. The problem here however is that you’re not aware that you’re missing parts of the main story upfront. If something is going to be optional, the main story shouldn’t continue on top of it. Expansions and seasons should have been their own thing.
NPCs wouldn’t go very well. They’d have to be at a champion+ level and designed to basically play the content themselves. Scaling for solo play would likely be far easier to implement. They could do an outnumbered buff for example, where your damage dealt and received is greatly modified.
Huuummmm… If we did not get a trailer this week, does this means that the next ep will be released in may? (considering that the 3rd month is in may 8 )
This week was patch week, so the trailer should be next week and release the week after (May 2).

32-bit memory limitation. You’d need to upgrade to a 64-bit OS. Depending on your version of Windows, you may do so for free. Windows 7 for example: https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows7
You can try to avoid the issue by lowering your model limit and quality to minimum and restarting the client after changing maps or every few hours.
Normal gliders like: Classical, Shining Blade, Phoenix Kite, Ugly Wool, you know, a normal mechanical contraption with a cloth or solid surface. The gliders don’t have to be fancy, just normal, and slightly more sturdy looking than the basic glider.
If they were going to give one away, a retexture of an existing one would be the most likely approach. The SAB glider for example, they could have had an angry cloud variant for completing all of the achievements. At this point, the ending of season 3 would likely be the last chance to add one, assuming they transition to a new type of mount in the next expansion, then the cycle repeats.
They could try the carnival weapons approach again, selling a glider for around 200g (700 gems ~208g). Maybe one day they’ll do cultural gliders.
My request, or rather, a suggestion, would be to have an end goal rewarding 1 or 2 glider skins for ingame effort, rather than outright purchase.

I’m sure the relative quality of user experience of the two, one focused aggressively on forum style chatter, and the other mostly unchanged from the forum technology of five years ago, has nothing to do with that.
The devs also starting using reddit a lot more.
The number of new accounts posting on Reddit is also much more stable than the same number on the official forums which is on a constant decline.
The (en*) forums will die out at this rate. It’s not like it matters though, whereas reddit’s public stats can easily be used to estimate an MMO’s health. It’s why it’s more important for the devs to be active outside of their own forums.
I heard ESO was recovering well after a failed launch, so I also did their reddit at the same time. It’ll take another 6 or so months however to see the results of their expansion, which was announced early 1Q2017 and launches at the end of 2Q2017. HoT was announced early 1Q2015 and launched early 4Q2015 for comparison.
Where was this found? Was it datamined or did someone post it on reddit or something?

Estimated packet loss is the in-between lines with the |
I’m just curious as to why they removed the HoT/green theme.
Likely an accident, where an in-progress update was pushed too soon. Episode 5 will be an important one, likely following up on Marjory investigating Lazarus. It’s also the more optimal time out of the 2 assumed to be remaining episodes, if they were going to reveal a trailer like season 2 did.
Also, considering that the story stuff is essential to understanding what the hell season 2 is about, it makes more sense to have it as soloable content than guild mission style.
They haven’t brought back season 1 in the personal story format because it basically comes down to having a new season or an old one. Chances are they’ll never bring it back. If they were going to, it should have been done with HoT, before people were welcomed back to a broken story.
Play in +10 level areas with a condition build to counter the damage loss due to glances. That’s what the game was originally like before it was heavily nerfed during the betas, then again with the NPE, trait changes and better gear.
Try running the game with:
Gw2.exe -clientport 80
G2A is reseller, so you’re buying from random people, hence why they say you shouldn’t. The problem in doing that is that the original purchaser still has control over the key and can easily revoke it, causing your account to be banned.
You should immediately receive the level 80 boost and be able access HoT’s story after upgrading. Restart the client if you haven’t. You’ll need to continue talking to support if it’s still not available after a few hours.
which was the chance to add a new jumping puzzle to the game.
Episode 5 is actually their chance to add a new JP, considering it’s the Ember Bay team again which has Josh Foreman (Chalice of Tears, SAB). Continuing SAB now would mean sacrificing an episode, hence why he said they couldn’t justify it.
Reddit would probably be a better way to check, since free to play players can post on reddit.
Here’s some forums vs reddit

Ensure the laptop is running on full power / high performance and GW2 is using the dedicated GPU. If you have GeForce Experience, disable the overlay/sharing feature.
Group events are generally balanced for 5 players and scale for 3+, so the metas are balanced around 20 people in total. Keep in mind that scaling wasn’t designed to keep up the challenge, only to keep the content relevant, hence the easy mode zerging.
They should really put the minimum scale on events instead of just calling them group events.
qproxy64.dll is the cause of the crash. Locate the program responsible (Qustodio) and uninstall it or stop it from interfering with GW2.
i’m having the same issue just now….
You can avoid the certificate problem by going to help.guildwars2.com directly. They’re using javascript and an up-to-date browser is likely required (ie, not IE on Windows XP). You can submit a ticket anonymously if you can’t login.

You can face your doppelganger, though nowhere near the same level as in GW1. It happens during Arcana Obscura of season 2 as an optional achievement.
i always see few in Kessex Hill , at the toxic plant location because i always go there when i do my Krytan forager.
The ones that are gathering are likely actual bots however, using software to press F on a timer. There are far more doing it than you’ll see standing there and I doubt anything will ever be done to them because they’re only in-game for a few seconds at a time. The ones farming trees in Orr are so obvious, and I’ve seen them around for years.
The instance creation server is down, meaning no new maps can be created.
If your accounts are linked, your GW1 account was merged into your GW2 account and your GW1 login will always be the same as your GW2 login. GW1 requires a character name however and doesn’t factor any of GW2’s additional security measures (2FA).
