In my own judgement, I find Winter Wonderland to be of medium difficulty. Nothing overly hard but also not too easy. And this is the way it should be a seasonal event puzzle.
It’s a darn seasonal event, for the six’s sake. And it’s meant to be fun for every player. Seriously, it looks like the people who complain about it being too easy seem to whine more than the ones who find it too hard.Have you ever considered that it might not be fun for the ones that think it’s too easy?
Wouldn’t that completely eliminate any sort of argument you might have, considering you just said it has to be fun for every player?
Really, does something have to be very hard for people to enjoy it? Can’t we just be happy with the simpler things once in a while?
If there’s no other way to make both sides happy then they really should make instances with selectable difficulty levels.

Because projectiles and sounds are weapon type and class related, not weapon model.
And I wish this would change. It would have been much cooler if sounds and graphic effects sdepended on particular weapon models like festive skins.
Had posted this a while ago as a suggestion but I guess it was completely ignored…: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Projectile-hit-effects-based-on-weapon-appearance/first#post684692
Always keep in mind: what’s easy for you may not be easy for others. Keep the games available to every player skill range.
Only two out of five? Why this?
Please fix this. Why shouldn’t I be able to preview those armors just to see the looks even if I can’t equip them?
I noticed this too and it looks pretty much intended. Would have preferred if we could get the shiny new looks instead of battleworn.
that cost 100,000 gold and according to the math of Angery Gammer Joe http://angryjoeshow.com/2012/09/gw2-commander/ is worth over $500.00 US dollers to get and is buggy but yea the commander title he tested could do a max of 30 people. So Olba that Commander title is way out of the range of a normal player…but yea 500.00..there computers you can buy that is less then that.
That dates from september.
As of today, getting 100g using the gem stores costs around 85 USD.
That’s way more than the price of the game itself lol.
In my very own honest opinion, armor shouldn’t get damaged at all in any PvP situation.
NO!!! The cultural set’s need to stay for that race, if you want a specific look then please roll that race. It adds something to each race to give them a very signature and unique look that you should only be able to get by being that race.
I take that nobody read my previous post.
However, please roll that race? There is people like me who value their time, and they can’t just be rolling character after character to get different looks that cost more than 100 gold, at least for a tier 3.
Remember that time is worth more than all the gold in the world.
This is just what I suggested in a similar post in the suggestions forum.
I’ll renew my question to the developers: why in Tyria aren’t races allowed to wear stuff crafted by each other? I thought the Guild Wars were long over and races were already in alliance.Just because they are working together that doesn’t mean that really have to like each other.
I don’t think that the racial requirement will ever be dropped. It gives the races something unique. Also why would those vendors give something that in their culture is a status symbols to outsiders?
And they have to like other people to make a deal of commerce with them?
However, I still don’t see a point. There already is uniqueness. Armor sets certainly look alike on different races, but they’re still different depending on the body shape.
A plate armor on a Norn will look differently on a Charr. Why can’t that be done with cultural sets as well?
Race is already the unique feature. The gown does not make the friar.
Cutural weapons are already available to all races. It’s just the armor sets because probably of um… laziness?
No. Thief is already squishy and stealth is the only skill that makes up for it.
Giving the option to render their stealth useless would turn the class into something ridicolous.

I’m up for the fourth utility slot. After all if everyone can have it I don’t see where could be a real balance issue. Unless some classes already have an advantage over others…
Oh, it’s that topic again.
Quite frankly, I think the sentences “unnecessary” and “you don’t HAVE to” are being abused by ANet.
Because you don’t HAVE to do this to play, but if you want to keep on par with others perhaps you should.
Yet since the the Lost Shores gem/gold trade prices have skyrocketed just as drop rates were changed this way. Consequence? Coincidence? Or rather intended?
Ugh! I got attacked and… I suddenly feel soooo slooooow…
Yeah, not the most realistic episode. In fact, in reaction to danger the body would produce adrenaline which actually gives you more strength, awareness and agility.
I like this idea. I’m in favour of a way to give access to cultural armor sets for other races, just like it happens with weapons.
It would require just some work by the developers to adapt the sets.

Because giving al the other classes a skill to counter the basics of another would render it useless. There already are AoE skills that can hit stealthed thieves.
And then there are channeled skills which follow and hit even in stealth, but I call that a bug.
Maybe this goes under suggestions, or audio, I don’t know so I chose the primary category. (I figured out that if I posted this under suggestions it would get buried pretty quickly under thousands of threads about mounts and various nonsensical blather. So this probably is a better place.)
I’ve noticed normal Battle playlist already is, but BossBattle plays the tracks in the same order they are placed in the playlist. This way, if the playlist cointains many tracks, the one’s at the bottom of the list are very less likely to be played.
So could this be changed so the tracks are played randomly?
It should be the easiest fix.

Auto attack on?
Yea but stealth cancels AA doesn’t it? If this is my problem I guess I just have to deal with it. Not using AA for Pistol#1 would hasten my journey to carpal tunnel.
Not always. Blinding Power gives you stealth, but if you’re in the middle of an Auto-Attack the stealth condition will be automatically cancelled before having any effect.
Best part is when it activates and bam: Lupicus reset…
Oh I know right…
Cluster Bomb has 1200 range but you just can’t use the same way as the auto-attack. It uses initiative and the arrow travels terribly slowly.
I concur. Rifles would probably work. It’s not about firepower, it’s about range. There are many PvE situations in which Thieves are very limited because of their short range.
Forgive my ignorance on the matter, but I found it while browsing through all greatswords. It has the ascalonian greatsword skin (I guess from the icon), it’s usable by all classes and has no level. Is it perhaps some leftover from the beta?
lol – 335 people took the time out to report that drops are less than they should be. Thousands (read the view numbers) have looked into the thread and it took weeks for a mod to acknowledge the thread even existed. What is the response – ah well there has been another thread reporting an increase so we’re not sure who is right. The thread in question they are comparing this to – 5 people, that’s right FIVE people saying they got lucky on a couple of yellows in one run. So 335-5 and they are not sure who is correct ? Also why is when FIVE people say the loot is better than expected they get a response almost immediately ?
Apparently, rare loot dropping too often is considered a major issue. While close to never dropping seems to be a minor issue. In their judgement.
I’ve noticed it’s particularly some tier 6 materials which seem to never drop, like lodestones… (guess what? the stuff needed to make legendaries too) Even dungeon chests have begun to drop more cores instead of lodestones.
So the question is why pistol bullets aren’t arcing like arrows? Are those magical bullets that travel on a straight line and just disappear into nothingness instead of falling towards the ground thanks to gravity?
As much as I’d love to see this in opposite of the Thief = Dagger stereotype. Generally, thieves don’t wield heavy two handed weapons because they’d be an hindrance to their mobility.
After recently acquiring a legendary weapon, I’ve become very interested in using it on my alts. I have two suggestions.
1. Add an “unbinder” item to the gemstore that turns “soulbound” items back into “soulbound on equip”.
2. Make legendary weapons account bound.
1. No, I don’t think so. If it was too cheap, it would result in people recycling all of their armors through different characters. If it was a bit more expensive, then people wouldn’t use it at all, unless the item in question was much more expensive to re-acquire.
The fact it’d be a gem store item means it wouldn’t be cheap.
Honestly even if they returned drop rates back to “normal,” they would still be pretty bad. GW2 drops and loot in general has been the worst I have ever seen in a game.
Well, no that’s a bit exaggerate. If you played Lineage 2 pre-GoD you’d know that there’s a much deeper level in the hell of grinding.
Pistols’ effective range is actually roughly 700, hence the range in Pistol skills description is a lie.
Out of curiosity I just tried now what you’re saying.
There’s a little difference between the range of pistol and shortbow, but it’s really a little step (tapping W very rapidly to gain maybe a 3-5 range), but not at all the difference of 200 that you’re talking about.
The funny thing it’s that even if in the game we don’t hit the target due to “out of range”, there’s no red bar under the pistol skills.
It’s not a little step, it’s a full step forward.
These are the pictures of my test for comparison. You can notice the distance on the minimap as well. First picture is Short Bow max range using a Short Bow, second is Short Bow range using a pistol, and third is Pistol max range.
It may not be 700, but still the range specified for pistols is unaccurate and shorter than Short Bow’s.

Inflation will eventually get out of control, players will leave and the economy will crash.
They better do something if they don’t want things to get grim.
This reminds me of D3. Their dev team was so concerned with market “balance” that their drop system was so neutered that their game was not fun*.
They’re getting better so I’ve heard, but it’s way too late and pretty much everyone has stopped D3.If the markets are perfectly balanced but the game is not fun*, it doesn’t matter one bit. Why repeat the same mistake D3 just did a few months ago (and are now learning from)?
kitten the market. Bring back the fun*.
*fun: in this context – meaning the thrill of seeing STUFF fall all the time, and rare-ish items on a frequent enough basis to keep things exciting. Think Vegas — 90% return on slot machines.
They’d be taking wrong assumptions. Who on GW2 has ever complained for getting drops too easily? No one I believe.
This isn’t D3. They said the game would have been fun and different from other MMOs, without grindfests and such. They can’t change that all of a sudden, because it is that way they could lose players.
Not exactly slam poetry, but I couldn’t resist.
In west Hoelbrak t’was born and raised
On the keg grounds is where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, remembrin to hit ‘dodge’
And brawlin’ with some kegs, out side the Lodge
When a gang of ugly Charr, who were lazy-old slobs
Started makin trouble in a city free of mobs,
I got in one big fight and Mom told me to “March!”
And that’s how I ended up livin’ in Lion’s Arch.
lol the fresh prince of Lion’s Arch
I noticed a wonderful spike of drop rate over the lost shores weekend but it dropped back to normal after the event finished on Sunday night. Even in WvW the drop rate actually felt “right”. Does anyone else think this is a coincidence that drops rates were great when there was a free trial and event over the weekend which suddenly dropped off?
I wouldn’t call that normal. Before the lost shores event I could get corrupted lodestones at a reasonable rate while farming. Today I farmed for 3 hours and didn’t see a single one. Guess I’ll have to pass on that corrupted weapon… -_-
This may be due to how shots arc with different projectiles. I know you can get extra range out of arcing your bow shots, it is possible that pistol shots do not rise and then fall, but merely fall, causing their range to be less than stated in some situations.
Pistol shots just travel on a straight line and then disappear.
Even if that was the case though, it’s still a lie.
For all that I care, with those prices cultural tier 3 sets can stay where they are: in the vendor window.
Sometimes there are pixels that aren’t worth my time, and this is a good example.
It’s not just the attack speed of Vital Shot that needs to be fixed. Also the range of pistols is not 900 as specified, it’s even shorter than that!
The description of both Trick Shot for Short Bow and Vital Shot for Pistol (the auto-attacks) specifies range 900.
Now if you want, you can try this out.
Go to the shooting range in Lion’s Arch near the Dungeon Armor vendors, then equip a Short Bow and put yourself at max range and shoot to see how far the arrows go t hit the target. Now, switch to Pistol and try shooting from the same distance which should be 900 and see what happens…
Pistols’ effective range is actually roughly 700, hence the range in Pistol skills description is a lie.
Blue names for players and NPC fighting for the blue server and so on for red and green…
I think it would be helpful to better recognize at first sight who is fighting for which world, especially in large scale battles.
Bag of coins, howsabout?
Also, why can I only get six copper for a solid bar of gold?
Yes. Actually “Bag of Coins” would be the best fitting name.
And not a single word was spent by ANet in regards of this matter. Does this mean it really is an intended “bug”?
Now I know the game doesn’t have a monthly fee, but resorting to this kind of sneaky strategies to increase income? I must say I expected far better. I am disappointed.
I see, guess I had to refresh my browser before starting this thread. It’s going to be merged then.
So today I wanted to try out and get a few through Icebrood Colossi at Frostgorge Sound, as far as I remember you could get those from them.
But in 3 hours on full magic find set, food and guild banner, not a single one dropped. All I could get were 26 Ice Stones, about 21 Large Claws and 4 Vicious Claws.
It feels like something as changed with the drop rates…
Wasn’t this the revolutionary game that didn’t require hours of grind to achieve something? It seems a bit incoherent with how things really are.
By the way, do the kits have at least a chance to “drop” off Black Lion Chests?
Eh 3 and half gold for a character edit. It’s like going to a virtual plastic surgeon.
It’s actually Here be Dragons, but in the game it’s split in different parts.
