I have nothing against multi-guilds. The real problem I found with it is when more than one of your guilds ask you to represent and thus you’ll be forced to choose and leave (or be kicked) the others guilds in conflict.
It’s clear that everyone wants points, but such situations defy the purpose of multi-guilding.
Actually I do wonder if magic find has any effect at all or if it’s just a useless stat.
My +85% magic find doesn’t seem to make any difference in drop rates.
Maybe +1% magic find means +0,1% in drop rate…
Uh, I hope it is intended. But anyways no one is complaining, so why change it?
I agree that story mode should have some kind of difficutly scaling based on party size. From solo to 5 members.
For exploration mode they could add a mildly hard solo instance in addition to the existing group ones.
Tell me about it. Thief is the most nerfed class since release and if the trend continues I’ll feel forced to roll a warrior. I’m getting tired of all the nerf this and nerf that, OP this and OP that.
In every MMO thief or rogue class have high spike damage with a backstab attack, and a rather squishy defense. Hell, in Lineage 2 the thief type class could 1-hit erase your TP with lethal blow and then kill you in seconds with another and there was the usual nerf cryers who complained but it wasn’t really nerfed in the end.

What is this I don’t even…
Well it’s not like this is a bad thing, isn’t it?
There is no need on making unidentified dyes absurdly rare when there are already rare ones to obtain after identification. It would be like making something twice as rare.
Hopefully now we can expect a small drop in price at the AH for abyss dye which is ridicolous nowadays. 5 gold for a dye… really?

The real problem is that people tend to make virtual dating games out of MMORPGs.
I play mostly female characters… and like many others, because if I have to look for hours at something, the prettier it is the better.
The Good Era of MMORPG was on Ultima Online ,Real Crafters System, REal pvp style with pk(You die you loose all), Real time skill gain base personal status. Each character was a total other world compared with others chars.
Golden era of MMOs? Yeah, for how long?
They’ve made this kind of games more accessible to all audiences, rather than just to elitist hardcore players.
Because not everyone wants to lose all the time they’ve wasted building a character that in the end will lose everything upon death.
Long ago, when I used to play Runescape, I accidentally ran into a PvP zone and got killed and dropped almost everything. Needless to say, I trashed the game.
I don’t know what kind of masochism afflicts the so called hardcore players, but if I have to invest time in something virtual it better be guaranteed. There is already a game called “real life” that makes us rich and poor on its own, and there is no option to create a new character in it.
GW2 is already known as a Carebear Mmo with No Pvp Servers. No PK, No Ganking, No Spawn Camp etc etc. You are free to quest, level, farm whatever in the world.
In my opinion, a free PvP instance of the same server ala DCUO wound’t hurt.
But if free PvP is implemented on all servers, people are not going to like it. Because those who don’t like it seem to be more than you may think.
Well, GW2 isn’t really casual when it comes to legendaries and mystic forge weapons in which are needed 250 pieces of one or two very rare material (and way more than that for legendaries).
I’ve noticed a change in dye drop rate only after gaining my full set of magic find gear. Right now I have +85% magic find and I could get 5 unidentified dyes yesterday.
Orr is defnitely a pain.
Risen Putrifiers, if I’m not mistaking, are the main reason. They can pull you back to them so you can get swarmed by the countless other Risen that have added. Among them there must be a Risen Farmer that will knock you down so you can get some more beating.
Also, underwater is not a better option. They’ll use Dart, an animation-less fast move that can kill you in less than a second.
And to add to that, their catapults shoot twice as fast than allied catapults.

Definitely toughness and damage. Most of the times mobs go after players with low toughness or high DPS first.
I play a glass cannon thief and in dungeons mobs really like to hit me.
On a side note, ever tried to take an underleveld character to a much higher level zone? It’s funny how mobs aggro you from a mile away.
I’ve heard Norns saying it in various moments, so it’s actually already in. They just don’t say it that often.
I agree. We have so many achievements and so few titles right now.
There could be titles for the storyline achievements, or the slayer achievements so that we can show to others which mobs we like to kill the most!
And what about master of overkill? The achievement itself sounds like a title.
OR just something involving slippery ice platforms…
Wait, no!
It seems like I involountarily created a bit of confusion about my ideas so I’ll clear them out.
No, I didn’t change my stance about it. The weapon mastery idea was an addition to give subclassing a point, in response to the usual “Pointless. Just roll another char”.
And I didn’t mean that you would be able to use all of the subclass’ weapons on the main class, just one of choice, given an unique set of skills.
Like an Elementalist subbing a Warrior. Supposedly importing the “great sword mastery”, he shouldn’t get the warrior’s great sword set of weapon skills, but an entirely new set based on the main class’ traits. Elementally charged physical attacks could be an idea for one. Besides, Mesmer is also considered a mage class, yet again, they can use great swords.
An elementalist with a great sword sounds weird, you say? Yet they can summon a fiery greatsword, can they not? Provided an appropriate set of skills any class could make use of any weapon. Leaving out the exclusives to off-hand, like focuses.
In my opinion, as long as profession exclusive skills don’t get mixed there wouldn’t be any major issue with balancing. It requires just some work by the developers.
I swear, sometimes it sounds like people are overly afraid of change.
About the personal story, it depends on the idea the players have of their character. I main a thief, but my character is absolutely not a knave or a pirate. She’s a stealthy warrior that prefers tricking and silent approach, rather than brute strength.
And why a thief can’t be the “Hero of Shaemoor”? Because thieves are evil? As I said, it’s all about the personal point of view. And again, in my opinion, the class name means nothing at all.

This seems dumb. Start a new character if you want to change professions. It doesn’t really take long at all to go 1-80, and you get some epic lootz and cool content along the way.
You haven’t been following the thread much, have you? Anyways, everyone is free to create new character from scratch. We’re discussing about a feature that would bring some more variety to the game, other than save time for those who don’t have much aka casuals.
It makes sense since there is a duality concept behind the two swords.
Personally though, I’d have named the weapons Radiance instead of Sunrise and Oblivion instead of Twilight. Which are much more inherent to the swords’ colours and particle effects.

A GW2 subclass system doesn’t necessarily have to be equal to other games like Final Fantasy XI/XIV or Lineage 2.
Besides, making a new character and taking it to the levels of your main requires time and/or money, let alone if you have worked your way to a legendary weapon you can use only on one character. Maybe there are players who have made one in a month, but there are also those who probably wil take a much longer time to make one.
There’s one main point out of a subclass for GW2 I came up with:
Let’s suppose a player with main class Guardian attains level 80 on a Ranger subclass. Now from there on, by speaking to a particular NPC or rather completing a quest, he/she can choose one mastery based on the weapons usable by the subclass of their choice, thus enabling the main class to equip an additional weapon type and gaining a new unique set of weapon skills.
Of course, this would require ANet to create more skills for each class and weapon. But why not? It would add to the variety.
Since the class change tokens seem not to be really welcomed, then how about a way to start a proper secondary class on the same character instead?
Perhaps after completing a quest to unlock it, then the player could switch between professions in towns through a specific NPC.
While keeping everything else like missions and exploration and all the soulbound equipment, the additional class would start at level 30, with 30 trait points for that class and retained skill points.
Additionally, this could also open a possible way for classes to use more weapon types in future, and thus new weapon skills for players to use.
(edited by Hermes.7014)
Dervish = Human Guardian with a greatsword.
Exactly. Specific to Human. ANet made it so all professions are available to all races. Besides, not seeing how you drew the comparison, to be honest:
- Guardian Greatsword – Main mechanic focuses on sacrificing Virtues to support allies. Greatsword focuses on CC (with the pull / blind) and Buffing (Retaliation / Might).
- Dervish – Main mechanic focused on Flash Enchantments and Enchantment stripping to enhance / add additional effects to own attacks. Mostly focused on Cold and Earth damage (so Chilled and Bleeding?)
But no scythes! That’s the let down.
I wish they’d be, less of a hassle, after seeing the requirements. But then the so called hardcore players wouldn’t have their hours of farming fun, I suppose.
Exp penalties are among the most annoying. Good thing this game doesn’t have any. There is enough penalty with the two or so silver you have to pay for each damaged exotic equipment piece at level 80.
I just noticed that my incomplete mad memories are gone since I acquired the complete version while it should had stayed. Now I don’t know if this is some kind of bug, but after completing the quest I can’t get the incomplete version anymore.
The topic title is a bit unclear but yeah, I agree. The wolf norn form needs a true wolf howl sound, like the wolf mobs when they call companions.
I wish the developers would give a word about this, or at least a reason for the change.
I think I’ve seen a no hair option for females in GW2 too while going into character creation. However, I believe nobody actually chooses that…
Pull champion event mob into their path = fun.
Some people are lucky, some aren’t. I’m among those who aren’t. Oh well…
Now every helmet/hat/hood turns your character bald, whilst before you could see at least a little bit of hair. Why this change? It is pretty ugly in my opinion. Can we have our hair back? There must be another solution to clipping issues rather than turning characters bald. :S
Blackmoon.6837Yes, please fix this.
Before a recent update, my character use to display a little hair for any helm that covered the scalp. I assume they changed this for clipping reasons (which I had none for the style hair I chose)… but nevertheless…
Please add hair for all helms that cover the scalp!
You’re right, I could see a bit of my character’s hair under her hood before a recent update, but now it’s gone. :S
Well I made also a topic in general discussion about this.
(edited by Hermes.7014)
No, you can’t transmute them.
A fixed hairstyle would also work. Anything but bald please.
I would MUCH RATHER have clipping issues with my hair then be bald. I know I’m not alone of this.
I have to agree.
Besides… they could easily add and merge the hairstyle models to the hat. So that when the player equips it he/she wll retain the original hairstyle under the hat.
It makes my character bald when she equips it. I mean, she has the hat on but no hair! Is this supposed to be this way? It’s kinda… weird!
In my opinion they should add custom titles which would appear in blue color, while achievement titles would be displayed in gold color.
I’ve done it about ten times and the only thing of decent value I could drop from the mad king’s chest is a Corrupted Lodestone.
No, it doesn’t.
Keep the games with a different normal theme than halloween. Yeah, it would work.
Cursed Shore is still Cursed Shore.
Of course, it’s an online game so no place will change after you beat the boss.
Picture’s pretty outdated now, but there she is.
After two hours of trying I finally made it too.
Tallest Norn female
Thief
No boosts
Won’t let me edit for some reason, so here’s another post:
Why are people labeling each other? If I feel like I have a legitimate concern and post on the boards, then I must be a “whiner” or a “complainer”. If I feel that something is too easy, then I must be an “elitist”.
Quote: just to have the pleasure of seeing the pride leaving the whiners body every time they fall down in the endless pit of gooey shame;)
^For kitten’s sake, it’s people like you who make the community terrible. I understand concerns from both sides, but voice them like adults instead of name calling and being general jerks.
You didn’t complete the tower did you? What a shame.
Of course, this is /e-sarcasm.
Some people just have to get a boost to their kitten, otherwise they don’t feel special as the should.
Oh look. Another “change nothing and if you can’t complete it then L2P” thread.
I think something went wrong two posts above.
Did it today and couldn’t anymore. No exotics earned either, just a green heavy armor leg piece and two ToT bags.
Mad king’s armor is heavy type so it can only be weared by soldier classes anyways so to hell with it.
Quite frankly, I’ve never seen anyone quitting a game because it didnt’ have hard puzzles.
What about people who quit because of a buggy but optional puzzle?
Actually, neither.
But anyways the concept of difficulty and fun is very relative.
Yet you can’t just say (generally speaking) “what’s not fun for you is fun for me so leave it as it is”. There will always be opinions in contrast.
Change has to be done so that it is acceptable for both sides of the argument. And to begin with, they should fix the design flaws.
