The bought and paid for guilds went back to their home servers?
It’s pretty much standard against the German servers too. You can’t do much against the blob except build one of your own.
It’s sure nice to see RoF in 2nd place though. I think the Dzag’s are a bit demoralized from playing against FR so many weeks in a row.
It’s a challenging match. It will be interesting to see what the weekdays bring.
You’re using the wrong dust. There is another post here already on this.

Of course they, but the point of ugly ascended gear is to get players to buy transmutation crystals. Just like the reason why fractals have no armor repair points, so players buy repair canisters.
Welcome to coin mall operations that are run by NCSoft.
And you are ignoring my post.
It has become a habit for many of us.
I still use it for certain characters and situations. Not every character has stealth or speed. Drop a wolf on the mob that just wont give up, and go about what ever it was you trying to do, like open a chest or mine a rich node.
Reconsider needing the ascended if you don’t get the exotics to salvage through…
Using Black Lion kits I’ve gotten all the Dark Matter I’ve needed just by salvaging the exotics I created to level my crafts to 500. YMMV.
The better the salvage kit, the better the rewards. BLTC kits only if you want Dark Matter.
You may think the stat gain is garbage for Ascended armor, but it won’t stay that way. Only Ascended gear has infusion slots — I’m betting Anet will use infusion slots as the next vertical grind .. we’ll slowly see the stat ceiling increase on infusions, forcing people to go Ascended.
This is exactly the problem with Ascended to begin with. Those infusion slots can bring any number of infusable materials for more power creep. Players were talking about this when the first trinkets became available from running Fractals.
There are a couple of ascended back piece recipes so far that are crafted by the armor making crafts.
You will most likely need a level 500 jeweler character to make the trinkets and what ever else Anet has in mind for the Electrum material.
Maybe bring it up again after New Years?
Most of Anet has Christmas vacation at the moment.
Electrum actually exists in the real world, it’s a naturally occurring blend of gold and silver. In game we already know what’s planned is a mix of Mithrillium, platinum, silver and gold.
So it’s Jewelry, but at what level we have no idea.
I’m guessing infusions will come from cooking, and perhaps some special effect dyes.

Bolt of Damask is going down? Really?
In 2months time we’ll all still be farming silk, linen, iron ore, platinum, silver, gold…
The guys who paid up front for Bolts of Damask might yet have the last laugh.
No mesmer in his right mind has Moa Morph on the skill bar in WvW. It’s useful against exactly one player, has a long and easy to see wind up that can be interrupted, and a long cool down.
You go into WvW in greens/yellows looking for a challenge you’re just going to get
21 shot by a thief.
Fixed that for you.
Trading post flippers are getting reamed trying to trade this stuff. It looks to me like they’re the only people trading this stuff and they’re buying/selling to each other. The buy/sell spread is getting smaller this afternoon.
I can’t imagine any real player is actually selling this stuff because
1. You can’t farm it. and
2. There is a better profit in selling bolts of Damask. because
3. Most players still don’t have their first set of Ascended armor. and lastly…
4. There isn’t much salvagable material left on the TP either.
The actual amount of silk listed for sale is far smaller than the amounts being traded so the TP players are providing the liquidity in this market, and they are actually keeping prices down.
In short, if the TP players get frustrated and quit flipping this stuff, prices are really going to go nuts.
…i wanna ask why are no mounts in guildwars2?
Because armor clipping is already an issue for some races and armor sets, just walking around Lions Arch. Imagine the issues magnified by sitting on a dolyak, or riding at a gallop?
This one, and capes are “too hard” for Anet and they’ve said that a few times.
Just play along.
Quit being a shill. Anet is shooting themselves in the feet with this time gated crafting crap. The worst part is that they see this as a solution, but I’m not sure what the problem was.
Some players will get gear before others do? That’s happening anyway, so why time gate it?
You need map completion to get a legendary?
The Gift of Exploration
I hope you all did what I did. In the last CDI for commander system, I made the recommendation that commanders should be able to unclaim any structure that does not have a guild buff. It would resolve this situation.
You’ve never run into a troll commander?
Yup, the forge. It’s a bit expensive to get the recipe but the items are pretty useful for group play. A Tray of Mango Pies can be a big help on the bosses that hit back, like the golem or fire elemental.
Crikey, one player is afraid of a few wolves in a low-level map…
You have obviously completely misunderstood my comment. I’m not afraid of wolves, I just don’t want to deal with them ever, just like I don’t ever want to have to farm mats with my gaming time.
“Play the game the way you want”…
Would it really kill this game if I could purchase Ascended items with Badges of Honor or Karma?
Still no Dev comment that I’ve seen on Time Gates, something that many players brought up early in this thread. Sort of disappointed by that.
3s for a silk scrap? More than the gossamer scrap?
You’re really saying that it would be a good design choice making a t5 material worth more than a t6?
Have you looked at the price difference between Silver and Gold Dubloons lately?
Based on the wall of silence we’re getting on that topic, it’s “working as intended”.
I’m sure this price action on silk also working as intended.
Anet doesn’t admit make mistakes.

Try Diessa Plateau, Kessex Hills, Snowden Drifts, Lornar’s Pass as well.
There is boink all for softwood in Diessa and where there is, you’re getting chased by wolves all the kitten time. Same in Snowden. Kessex is toxic these days and not a lot of fun to play unless you’re there for the Toxic stuff.
As for Lornar’s? I’ve had more fun walking around an Ikea shop that forces you to walk in one direction only, for the entire time you’re there. At least Ikea sells Swedish meatballs.
Field of Ruin isn’t bad, but farming is boring. I also run Dredgehaunt for iron ore and seasoned wood, then sell off the excess seasoned wood to buy soft wood.
After saying all that, I hate farming and this is not how I ever wanted to play this game.
So, the same as the Yakkington’s MF choice. Ty.
It’s not on the wiki yet. Does anyone know?
no for everyone drops enough everyday to do the 100 bolt of silk crafting
No-lifers maybe. The rest of us don’t get anywhere near that much. I had tons saved for this, what I thought would be more than enough. Then Anet changed the formula to 100 bolts per Silk Thread.
That’s what is fueling this rush.
don’t go to that “damask req silk 100 bolts” you know silk cost 10c it is cheap as hell and very easy to get
You obviously haven’t look at the price or supply of silk in the last few hours.
At the rate we’re going the supply will be gone in about 10 days, and then prices get real.
I don’t want to get dragged into this conversation at all, because this game was sold to me on the basis of horizontal progression. Everybody remembers the manifesto? Vertical progression really should not even be a question at this time.
However, we’ve been handed gaming material such as Ascended gear, Fractals, and much of it is gated content. Time gates weren’t mentioned in that original manifesto either, and I think most players find them reprehensible.
The point I want to make is, if new material or “vertical progression” is to be brought to the game, and you Anet feel the need to time gate it, perhaps it shouldn’t be brought to the game in the first place.
If everyone can make more than one bolt of damask per account per day, then its price would not be anywhere as high as it is now.
Just what the hell would be wrong with that? I play light armor characters. I should have to pay through the nose for my gear while thief and warriors are walking around in their gear today?
I did the work to get my crafting done on multiple characters. Why don’t I get the reward for that, as well as my light armor?
Unfortunately, this is “working as intended”.
Anet wants us to work for “character progression” but as usual there is no reward for doing so.
Many small guilds simply never do these things because they don’t have the numbers for it. You should count yourself lucky that you’ve met people who are still interested to do them.
ascended armor stats arent a huge increase, you’ll be okay
I laugh at these comments….so because exotics is a slight increase to rares, then we can use rares in WvW? why not just use greens? no wait blues work fine?
kitten that I’m going back to whites
Wait. Wut? You wear armor in WvW? Dude, that’s totally not needed. It’s all about player skill, so run bare!!! You know you want to.
I haven’t been participating in this CDI stuff partly because I really don’t see much coming from it. Devon Carvers (lack of) responses in the first WvW CDI are proof enough of that. In the other CDI threads to date players presented very little that was new, very little that we haven’t posted about previously, ideas that Anet could have already been working on.
Instead Anet continues to bring out material that players clearly don’t want, and grind and farmfests that were absolutely not a part of the product that I was originally sold. I’m sure I don’t need to provide examples to players.
The other reason for not participating in the CDI process is that I’m finding it difficult to not be quite rude about the situation. Some people might like to suggest that I should treat these forums as if this were a real life situation and that the people were sitting here in the room with me.
Let me assure you, in real life I’m really quite rude with people who sell me on a product, and then try to deliver something different. Those sorts of people don’t last long in any room I’m sitting in.
I think I’ll stop now.
I remember the bell choir last year. I turned off all volume because it was god awful noise, reset my key layout to 1 – 0, and treated the whole thing like tetris, and pushed a key as the visual indication suggested.
I’m sure I made beautiful music, but even I wouldn’t want to listen to it.
For Johnny Cash!!! (yes, I play on Ring of Fire).
There is no way for players to tell you that. I can point out that there were a couple of months between weapons and armor, and it looks like the Xunlai Electrum item is at least thought out and planned.
My guess? Maybe February, and given that we will need laurels to buy recipes from master crafting vendors, I’m saving mine for now.
WvW players should have expected a lame reward…
We did. WvW players know what to expect from Anet. It’s everyone else who is upset.
… after the [censored]storm ANet is getting from this season do you honestly expect them to make the same mistake the second time around?
Yes
I honestly don’t see it, but I have a pretty good supply of refined silver, gold, and platinum as well as daily Mithrillium ready to go.
Molten Lodestones? They drop in this game?
Wow. Who knew?
There is space in the crafting mats for an item called Electrum. That actually exists in the real world but it’s not common. It’s a blend of silver and gold. I’m sure that’ll be the base material for Ascended jewelry crafting, like Deldrimor or Spiritwood are being used in those crafts.
This one requires silver, gold, platinium and mithrillium, so it’s clearly a jeweller’s equivalent to deldrimor steel.
That makes sense, but could you show us where you found that?
Since day freaking one, but Toxic PvE mobs and Do Not Touch Towers are far more important and absolutely must be a part of WvW.
Why is there no space in the crafting bank for them?
