Why didn’t Anet tell us this was coming when the game started?
Would you have bought the game if you’d known then what you know now?
Nope.
If you look at the EU, wvw players have spread much more evenly across the servers.
What garbage are you spewing here? It only takes 4 ranks difference before EU servers start getting rolled, and many of us have 5 and 6 ranks difference in our match up.
Skill lag is pretty rare unless you are fighting viz or sfr and most groups run with 15-35 people. And you get good fights every week.
Again, more garbage. I get skill lag all the time in EB. That’s why I don’t play there anymore. I haven’t had the large problems with buff recalc lag this week but we aren’t getting “good fights”. We’re getting blobbed and run over which really isn’t much fun.
Depending on the spawn times of the bosses, the big dragons in particular, I can rotate through my alts and pick up 100 dragonite in about 4 to 5 hours. Boring as kitten, I know but I don’t like the Orr temple events.
While I’m waiting for boss spawns I also run my characters through a loop in Wayfarer’s, Southsun and Queensdale pickup Empyreal frags from open world chests.
What will they do next? The armor will most likely require the blood of a virgin, the holy grail, an unmarked one thousand dollar bill, the hat of Baron Samedi, and the Chachapoyan Fertility Idol from the first Indiana Jones movie.
I suppose we could always go back to the bad old days of “Kill 10 Rats”. At least then the casual players could get their hands on this gear too. As things stand now, no one who only plays an hour or two per day is going to being to able to farm the mats needed for even one Ascended weapon, never mind the armor that is coming.
I can see what’s happening in our guild. Those guys are moving on.
Same kitten. Different Week.
I dont have the bankspace for 2000 emphereal fragments and 3000 bloodstone dust. And I have no interest in rushing to level my crafting.
You just need to get to 450 in one craft and that’s easy. From 400 to 425 just refine a stack each of Ori ores and ancient logs. Done.
From 425 to 450, discover maybe 10 weapons on Friday when your WvW buff is at it’s best. That, with a guild crafting buff and a trading post crafting boost will get your really close to 450. Artificer is easiest because you can also discover a few potions.
Then you can refine all those t7 mats to bricks/whatever. It’s really not hard.
Time gated or level gated content isn’t the slightest bit fun and I have no idea why game devs keep adding this sort of thing to the games they make. It’s a serious turn off and gives players really good reason to just move on when the next great thing comes out.
Note: Wildstar is owned by NCsoft.
Thank you. I did not know that.
Do not be fooled by NCsoft/Nexon’s smash and grab development and post launch support tactics. If you think Wildstar will be different post launch you’re in for a rude awakening.
Don’t Get Fooled Again!!!! ah, brings back memories….
I thought my greatsword was bad and felt all apologetic about changing the skin on it. There will be no such problems with this thing. Nice stats and all, and a pain in the kitten to make, but wow, Ugly!

There are 3 chests in Wayfarer’s that are fairly easy to get, 2 in Southsun, 4 in Queensdale and 1 in Metrica. That’s 10 chests per character getting you 25 to 30 fragments per level 80 character per day. For 5 characters that takes about 90 minutes per day, and it’s exactly how I don’t want to play this game!
Even worse? We’re going to be doing it all again soon for ascended armor. ><
The best part was going to the pub to watch Bayern Munich kick the snot outta Moscow. Even better? There is more Champions League football on tonight, and my home team has a home game tomorrow and I just bought my ticket!
I really gotta thank Anet for giving me a great reason to go enjoy myself for a change!
I’m stoked! I got to use my time warp twice! Amazing!
Vocal Minority, treated like dandruff, getting the brush off.
I honestly don’t want dungeons to get “harder”, because Anet’s idea of “harder” is “takes longer”. I don’t ever want to see another environmental weapon in a dungeon, and I don’t want to see puzzle/jumping content either.
Ok, maybe as a bonus AFTER you wipe the boss, but not on the way to the boss.
I’m also tired of dungeon champions that drop NOTHING.
I’m also tired of one-shot kills and complete party wipes.
I am so tired of locked waypoints that I can’t use when I’m dead.
And above all, I’m tired of walking mountains of hitpoints that are always Defiant so you can’t use CC skills on them, they are sometimes Invulnerable, and they bring in additional mobs that add nothing to the fight, they’re just annoying (and sometimes you have to use those environmental weapons on them…).
Lower your expectations appropriately.
… and/or find some other game to play.
I’m definitely interested to see the thoughts of the players when I log into WvW later.
I’ve heard from our guild WvW regulars. I can’t repeat those words here.
It’s not just in WvW.
This really does look like the next karka queen event.
I’ll try and get it done in the next day or so, because after that I don’t see a lot of people bothering with it again.
I foresee many more rams being built.
League Of Legends must be offline
I can see a lot of people going back there soon though.
I guess I should be used to dying a lag death by now.
Ah well, just one more unplayable part of the game.
I noted this. Then noted them removing a huge chunk of underwater combat area from WvW.
I thought I was the only one who liked those quaggan/krait events. Easy WxP and once in a while a good fight when you catch someone trying to build the node.
The GvG meta game doesnt reward the individual player. We get at least 10 times more loot from a regular 1 hour guild raid compared to a 1 hour GvG.
The reward is the fun. Sitting in a tower/keep is not fun, and not rewarding at all.
For those who really care about the PPT, then they can scout.
Again, there is no reward for it, which is why we rarely see people doing that now.
Now then, back to the original post please. Is there any reward planned for the individuals in the “decay prevention” team?
(edited by Herr der Friedhoefe.2490)
Did I miss something, or am I right in thinking that the “decay prevention” team will get ZERO reward for sitting on their duff in the ruin of power? Just like scouts in towers/keeps get ZERO reward for doing an important job?
This is why pretty much nobody sits in towers/keeps these days.
Mechanics that only reward server score, without rewarding the individual player simply don’t work. This is why the GvG meta game developed all on it’s own.
This topic moved to the Constructive Feedback Forum in 3… 2… 1…
Farming iron ore and soft wood in Fields of Ruin. Unless there is a guild group there doing a bounty hunt or rush, it’s an empty map. Just saying…
Suggestions to Devs in this game is something of a Mission Impossible, and you know what happens to operatives who die or are captured?
Denied!
“Looking For a new Game”
Pfft. I admit the WvW maps can be a bit of a pain in the kitten for map completion but I have it done on all of my characters. Servers are being rotated around the colours of the maps these days and it’s just a matter of time.
It’s really not that hard. Not as hard as it used to be, and I did it in the bad old days.
That’s quite the American list you have there. Too bad you’ve never heard of Europe.
The EU servers from rank 22 to 27 are dead and have been weeks, if not months.
According to Anet there are 2 optimal group sizes for a zerg. A party of Five, or everybody on the map, and this is why we only have party sizes of 5, or 100g commander tags.
Nothing else matters.
They are far from 100% with a BL kit. I salvaged a pile of exotics and got one inscription. Didn’t keep track of how many were weapons, but at least 10.
Similar story here. I’ve gotten one so far, out of maybe 15 salvages with a Black Lions kit.
First up, Black Lion Salvage kits are pretty much mandatory. Otherwise, any exotic will do, and please quit chasing the prices up on the trading post.
Not bad but does nothing to help us address the issues in the game, not that Anet doesn’t know about our issues already, but still…
The Chinese servers will have nothing to do with NA/EU WvW. They are a completely separate publisher and may as well not exist for the rest of us. You won’t be transferring your account to those servers, if that’s what you’re thinking.
… and how many hours is a guy supposed to grind the fractals solo to get a vial?
Seriously…
You are not alone in this. Its not just us older gamers. Its the gamers that want to test skill… not stats… against enemies.
sPvP is over there —-——>.
Go to a lower pop server. Their engine does not handle the amount of population stacking players did at release very well. It likely never will.
Going to a lower population server doesn’t actually help, as the population allowed on any WvW map is limited anyway. Anytime a WvW map is close to its limit, and 2 or 3 zergs collide you will get lag.
I play on Ring of Fire, 21st in the EU rankings and EB is pretty much unplayable during the peak playing times. Major fights around the borderland keeps have the same problem.
I don’t know how Anet make money out of this game. But I do know there is no monthly subscription fee
I stopped reading right here. It’s the standard fanboy response.
I refuse to pay a monthly subscription for any game. It’s not an argument that justifies poor performance. WvW lag has made this game pretty much unplayable, and the craptastic match ups have sucked the morale out of all the lower EU servers.
Also reset and parts of weekend in general is zergy from midtier upwards.
This is RoF. We aren’t mid-tier and don’t want to be. We’re 21st on the EU server list but we are continually matched up against 15, 16, 17….
We’re sick and kittening tired of it.
I am focusing on PvE until league will start. Then we will have some even matches. Not this 6 ranks
differencebullkitten.
Fixed that for you.
Anet obviously hates the Ring of Fire server.
Now that is some serious lag.
I’m sure this will happen when Anet figures out how to monetize it, and not before.
In Guild Wars 2, the monsters raid you.
Also, check out Guild Missions
Ah. Guild Missions. The once-a-week guild-only zerg that takes scant minutes and only a cursory knowledge of the ‘boss’.
They’re also bugged about 25% of the time. This week our trek failed (seriously) and so did the bounty, when Anders Wildman wouldn’t start the fight after we “saved” him from the Karka that ate him.
Treks seem to fail the most often, and I have no idea why that is. The coding for that couldn’t be so hard. Also we’ve had rushes fail to reward guild merits and again, why? Our puzzle failed this week too, mostly because we had no clue about Emo(tes) and who really is going to salute a picture frame?
The way Anet is going with that one, soon we’ll all be wearing eye-liner and taking self photos crying in front of a mirror just to prove that we’re all Emo(ting).
And all of this after our fairly small guild finally got all the merits and influence together to research everything. We generally like these guild missions but some of them are more than a bit stupid.
TIME
Risk/Reward is probably the most borked thing in this game lol.
Fixed that for you.
And for those of us who simply refuse to step foot into the fractals?
For people who don’t run fractals, there’s the ascended Sclerite Shell.
… and how exactly does that get turned into a Celestial Ascended backpiece?
You may think the fractals are “mind numbingly easy”, but in fact most of them aren’t much more than a jumping puzzle in disguise. Many of us well and truly hate jumping puzzles.
And for those of us who simply refuse to step foot into the fractals?
Fanboys, vs everyone else.
