Nothing special to own a borderland by PvDooring with 20+ ppl, 5 omegas and noone defending
I wouldn’t know. I’ve got a couple of cold beers and I’m watching the last of the Perseides meteor shower.
I stopped over an hour ago in order to chill out before going to bed. Those keeps, towers and even the SM castle were not even close to “empty” and we were still constantly under attack when I left WvW.
I’ll give the Dzags credit, they seem to be trying to actually win this weeks matchup. Arithmetic and time are against them though, so some of them, or at least one appears to be using PR to discredit the RoF win.
Edit: LOL, at this time it would appear that RoF TOTALLY OWNS the Dzag borderland. Maybe that’s why Kontrolle is crying. All of his dudes are trying to save what’s left of EB, and our guys handed out some pay-back for the prime-time game tonight. Poor Dzags…. Pay-backs are a kitten, particularly on the last night of the matchup.

we ordered some at the job center … but sorry to say, they won´t work at night … seems like boring pvDoor for you tonight ….
I guess you guys aren’t spending enough on the hookers, and they’re all playing WvW. Seriously, this isn’t PvD, or PvNPC even after 2am in Germany.
I can’t believe this thread has died. I guess nobody cares about playing defense any more.
Long Live The Mighty Zerg!
Riot went back to Far Shiverpeaks, DEX went to Underworld, FRS went to GH…. Sorry but I can’t remember where VcY went
I saw one VcY member post in an unrelated area. His sig said they were on Aurora Glade now.
We’ve been asking for changes to the commander tag system since the Beta days. I’m not holding my breath on this.
We have a couple of Russian guilds on RoF. That’s not something new.
[AZZL] is probably the biggest one.
Last night in EB was hardly PvD or players vs NPC. The Dzags put up a great fight for EB right down to the bitter end. It took us hours to clear those people out. It was actually fun to hunt down your roamers and yaks while our trebs did the damage.
We had some pretty good commanding too from a relatively new commander.
According to Devon more powerful siege with longer range is not power creep so its all O.K.
Did you refer to that quote from Devon Carver?
“We will continue to work on these abilities in the hopes of making them more fun and providing more variety. We are however quite set on not adding power creep, at least not much, which makes them fairly constrained. We have yet to unleash our craziest ideas.”
That sounds a bit different.
I can provide you with any number of quotes from Anet devs, most of which haven’t quite worked out as promised. “Play the game your way” and “Anet doesn’t make grindy games” both come to mind.
This isn’t just creep. Zerg players have always had a solid advantage over defenders simply because it’s the fastest way to level, gain karma/gold/fun, so more players play that way then choose to defend. More people will give up defending because the Zergstars now have an even greater advantage.
… a siege on a keep that last 5 hours, the first three of which are nothing more than people flinging balls of fire at walls, and the last two are spent in carnage festival at the Lord’s room, I prefer getting to the inevitable final part more quickly.
The fact that it can last 5 hours or longer is exactly the point of my end of this game. I’m standing there defending to help you get it into your head that it is by no means certain that you’re going to get anywhere near the Lord’s Room, never mind take that keep.
But you just got your wish here. Now you can treb much more quickly AND rip supply out of my keep before you even lay a finger on a yak. Great.
We’re closer by the day to flipping and trading keeps/towers because Anet secretly loves the zerg!

Yeah, right.
Anything that encourages people to hide in their keeps less is a good thing.
Let me guess, you’re one of those who would be happier if there were no structures at all on the playing field, and we all just go out there and throw rocks at each other?
I fully expect a Commander Mastery any time soon. You’ll need to have a commander tag already in order to unlock the tier, and then spend WXP points for skills that might be slightly useful.
My take on the Treb Masteries like increased dmg/radius and supply draining?
We have even less reason to defend, and that much more reason to zerg. Anet might as well remove the outer wall to the Bay Keeps and the castle. The Garrison wont have a wall for long either if the bad guys get into Cliffside/Longview with enough supply for a couple of trebs.
Oh well, we didn’t really want to defend anything, did we?
I think their lack of response is because they know they’ve created an insatiable monster. To let the monster run amuck isn’t good for the good citizens of Tyria, but any attempts to check the monster will result in a display of wrath terrible to behold.
I can hardly wait!
Given the lack of response from Anet so far, this is probably working as intended, and I was one of the first to predict an incoming nerf on this farming. It’s quite likely that we’re going to need an awful lot of mats for Crafting from 400 to 500, so they’re pre-loading it for us.
The fact that we can pick up a fair bit of gold along the way isn’t all that bad either. Not all of us are trading post sharpshooters.
The lack of civility between players however, is not justified. Play nice kiddies, and maybe we’ll get to keep playing Farm Wars 2.
They will almost certainly do this. It puts together two of their favorite things: nerfing any farm spots and time gating.
Better farm these champs as much as possible right now.
I’m placing bets on Queensdale. That will be the first map to be nerfed. Probably spawn times first, then later one drop per day and account bound. Nerfnet does this every time players find something to farm.
Did VcY leave Surmia?
One shot kill mechanics aren’t the slightest bit interesting or fun. I’ve died by falling through the floor when I just arrived in the arena, because the floor wasn’t closed in time after the last guy took too long. I’ve died just because I happened to dodge in the wrong direction, in what should have given me “Evade”, but didn’t.
I’ve been targeted and killed even before I could move the camera angle to find the mob. Which as a side note, has Anet still not learned a thing about camera angles and oversized characters? Apparently not.
That’s enough of that. I’ll farm this for a profit, but I’m done with the gauntlet.
Fanboys can keep it to themselves, I have no interest in your opinions. Mods, feel free to lock it now that I’ve had my say.
This is a great match up so far and let’s keep up the great work. RoF, we are way ahead of where we were the last time we met the Dzags.
I would like to apologize for my ROAR in the RoF TS. Yeah, for those of you who don’t know, I’m Tiggy, and I can not stand and will not put up with babbletalk when we’re playing a game. It’s reset night. I don’t care how much you Swedish players don’t like German tourists, just because we’re matched up against a German server.
I’m certain there are Swedish Nationalist Groups with their own chat groups, and you could vent your problems there. The rest of us here are trying to play a game.
Let’s get on with playing a game.

If you’re comparing her to emerald weapon then it’s not that bad-ruby weapon was the one that gave me nightmares. However…this intrigues me greatly-will have to check the gauntlet out this weekend…maybe next week and see what all the fuss is about
It’s not easy, and you’ll have to get creative about it. This will also cost you some gear and trait changes and I’ve come to my limit on that list. I’m not going to re-gear a couple characters just for this.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Watchwork_Portal_Device
It does not work in WvW.
And how long do you think it will take until there is a working hack?
I just got one of these as a drop in the pavilion. No, not the recipe, an actual account bound device to try out. It is exactly a one time use mesmer portal.
In effect, a perma-stealth thief can now hide as long as he wants and then let the zerg back in ALL BY HIMSELF, and there is NOTHING the rest of us can do about it. A proper mesmer sweep is hard enough, but now we’ll have to deal with thieves doing the job of a mesmer.
So can the rest of us have Ash Legion Spy kits again? Probably not. Great.

When you wonder what Anthony Orden is talking about in this post; https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/jubilee/I-don-t-like-this-update/page/4#post2581092
“Some 40 or so permanent events were added around the game in our very first content update. They were met with little interest or fanfare.”
Obviously none of those permanent events were added to WvW, so of course we didn’t notice them.
Some 40 or so permanent events were added around the game in our very first content update. They were met with little interest or fanfare. Granted, Halloween may have stolen the show. But those events are still in the game today. I’ve seen very little reaction to them, however, positive or negative.
I haven’t got the slightest clue what “40 or so permanent events were added”, and I doubt I’m the only one standing around scratching his head, wondering what Willis is talking about.
You mean, in the near future when they add 100 more crafting levels.
That update is coming within the years end, but it’s not this patch.
Actually, new rune and sigil recipes ARE part of this week’s patch.
So far they seem to be pretty much worthless.
I’m not going to destroy some very expensive runes to add torment duration, just as a good example.
You don’t fight them. Seriously, just don’t.
Go find another fight. It’s easier.
I just put my necro back on the shelf. Oh well, it was fun for a while.
Back to WvW with my mesmer.
West tower in Gendarran Fields is stuck with not enough Aetherblades to demoralize, but you know, making Gauntlet Tickets soulbound is so much more important than QA.
Finished it at my 11th tower. Just keep visiting balloon towers. You’ll get him eventually.
One tip, stay on the lower level maps. The champs there are a LOT easier than level 40+ maps.
I didn’t get credit for 2nd Queensdale one, it was already opened for some reason.
Same. The chest in the tower near the Monastery was already open when I got there.
Really? Why?
I’m sure most of us have already pulled all our tickets onto one character because so many of us have given up on alts. Now we can’t put them back if another character might be better suited to a particular mob type or Gambit.
Soulbinding items before use is never a good idea and I have no idea why game devs don’t understand that.
I think to make those achievements… Achievable…. They need to just knock off a zero.
I’m confused over how doing the same thing for years is even considered an achievement.
It’s ok. Nerfnet is confused about this too.
working as intended.
some professions are meant to be powerful while under water.
Probably. Mesmer trident skills bleed things to death fast and it’s fun to watch a thief run away without stealth, not that I ever see too many thieves underwater.
My favorite play is to aggro a bunch of kraits and drag them on to some poor sap trying to build a quaggie node, then I stealth away.
Of course it’s like this on other servers. Nerfnet wants it this way. There used to be places to farm on that map but those were nerfed to the bottom of the underworld so players simply gave up playing there.
Orr, is a wasteland by design. It’s not the slightest bit fun or rewarding.
For my time spent in game I can park on any number of world bosses, play some WvW (when it’s a good match up) or run CoF for rewards. Why go to Orr?
Jewelry and Cooking are the 2 crafts you can do without having to salvage anything. You can get to level 400 in each just by collecting everything you see.
And I can only assume that special pick axes and guild bonuses will help with this effort.
I have gotten charged quartz from my home node with a copper pick.
So the answer to the question is that NO back recipes exist, so why would a Celestial one pop up now?
My question has nothing to do with not being able to craft a back piece up until now.
The question is, “why is there no recipe for a celestial back piece?”
You salvage them from clothing, or if you’re lucky you can throw 4x rare runes at the mystic toilet and get one of these back. Not exactly helpful, I know.
Yeah, this is the sort of fun I want to have.
Yes bug reports have been sent.
Mods, I don’t want to hear from the apologist fanboys. Please close this thread before they come riding to your rescue.
The reason for this is because Anet isn’t coming up with a reliable way to make a precursor. Once there’s a way to do it, the price for the coins will go up. Do not forget that anet wants to do more legendary weapons, and they promised a way to craft a precursor.
They promised Ascended gear from all areas of the game too, but I still can’t use my stacks of WvW Badges to buy a back piece or Accessories. Crafting Ascended gear? Yeah, they told us that’s coming too. What sort of time gate and new currency do you think that will involve?
RNG, new currencies almost monthly and time gates go on and on around here, along with promised material that somehow doesn’t materialize.
It’s nice that we’re getting an account wallet, but that should have been here at the launch of the game, along with an LFG tool, and better options for guild group communications and commander options.
The game is beautiful but it’s time for the artists to take a back seat to basic coding for game functionality.
Soul bound on Use, and sellable on the TP until then. Once in a while I will make that item for resale. It wasn’t a great profit but it’s one of the few ways to turn skill points into gold.
Go back to your own thread with your negative attitude.
I’m actually seeing this in real positive light. The trash can tier now has 3 natural residents, and the rest of us should never have to play there again.
Well that’s one of the more promising developments lately. At least I have a place to store my Badge even if I can’t buy anything useful with them, like an Ascended Back Piece or Accessories.
The combined Vabbi/FoW strategy of simultaneously boring their opponents to death has finally paid off! It looks like you might actually win a week. Well done!!!
I think more are getting wise and sending a runner ahead.
Yeah, that’s why I like to drop them just inside the gate of a keep that is under attack, particularly when they aren’t yet upgraded. Wooden doors tend to melt fast. So why can’t I put more then one and really bust the zerg?
I admit these things are a bit OP, but I don’t see a lot of people using them so far, not on RoF or our opponents. I haven’t actually set one off yet, but I have placed a few that got used.
One person placing them could slow down a zerg, but not when you can only place one at a frigging time.
Great, so what is the point of them? They are a great idea, but wth? Only one?
So maybe the zergs can be limited to one golem, or ram, or cata?
Is there something weird going on with these things that each player can only place one at a time?
Even a solid DPS zerker will get swords on the target before the camp is done. This is why “every class” can solo a camp, but not every player. Don’t get these guys wrong, it’s not easy, and not every build can do it because you need to be fast.
The guards will start to respawn and eventually the bad guys will show up too.
