New patch notes:
-Renaming arrow carts to arrowrams.
-Replacing all WvW siege with just the new arrowram. No more need for other types of siege.
-Renaming WvW to WvAC
I’ll tell ya right now… we just lost bay….to arrow carts. Camera glitches + superior arrow carts = all siege in bay is wiped in 10 minutes.
I’m not playing this until it’s fixed…
I’m so sick of people who are whiny about CoF farming groups wanting zerkers only.
Yaknow what? I have 5 toons. Know what else? One of them is a full zerker mesmer.
Know what I do with that toon? I do CoF speed runs.
Know what percentage of my game time I spend doing that? Less than 5%.
Get over it, really. The people complaining about the zerkers are more elitist than they are.
If you have a problem with this exclusivity…roll your own zerker and do it yourself. It’s that simple.
If they nerf CoF, these crews are just going to find something else to speed run…and they’ll look for zerkers there as well.
I suppose calling zerker warriors and mesmers cu** really makes you so much better than them.
That’s a matter of taste. I like the human look. More…proportional.
On human male characters, T2 armor, T3 shoulders, no helm showing.
I did change those cloth pieces hanging from the shoulders to be a darker grey to match the decor a bit better. The screenshot is a few days old.
Has ANet said anything about the possibilities of making some of this temp stuff permanent?
I know there was a huge SAB push to make it permanent, but that seems to have been unsuccessful.
You have to hit the node more than 24 hours after you hit it last time on that character. Is it possible you’re not hitting that node after the elapsed time on that character?
I played through the new dungeon last night and it’s really a very good, very fun dungeon…
I think by modifying the rewards to be more in line with other dungeons, they could easily make this new dungeon a permanent fixture.
It really saddens me that this is going to be temporary.
On the counter-point is the fact that this “event” (flame and frost) is supposed to “end.” If it’s over…it doesn’t make sense that it’s still “there.”
It just sucks that one of the most well engineered and fun sets of bossfights in the whole game are just going to poof. Seriously….the boss fights in this dungeon made me stop and think…“whoa…they finally get it.”
You have no idea whatsoever how many people a.net has on any given project or what the best use of their time is. Why do people keep assuming they know how to run a game better than people who have run a successful game for 8 years already?
It doesnt take a genius to know that building something like SAB is a lot of work. Only allowing it in the game for a month seems like a tremendous waste of effort.
I can see them nerfing some of the rewards (like the shards) after a month, but I can’t imagine why they would straight up REMOVE a “dungeon” from the game.
Same goes for the new dungeon they added in this patch. It’s nonsensical.
How’s that?
Is there a farming method where you get a lot of gold off CoF?
You can speed run CoF P1 with the right group makeup in a little over 6 minutes. You face heavy diminishing returns, but with MF buffs you can manage 7-8 gold in an hour.
Honestly…you can almost manage the same gold by doing a daily Orr/Karkaland Orichalcum run across four characters.
I think it’s good the game has SOME way to allow gold to flow into the market. The gold is so scarce in this game it almost forces you to spend real $ on it in order to get any measurable amount. Farming out the insane amounts of gold required for legendary building would be nearly impossible if it weren’t for things like this.
I <3 and miss Kaineng dearly. Hope to see you guys back in T2 with us someday.
I’d suggest, as a previous poster said, just removing boon/condition visiblity entirely. I don’t feel that I should know the “condition” of my enemy any more than they should know mine.
There’s also the fact that this is currently a mesmer exploit. You can tell which things are clones because they have no boons/conditions.
What do you think of increasing the AoE cap to 7-10? Because if it’s removed, everyone will play a AoE build and everything would be severely considered overpowered. You could stun a zerg of 40 lol. That doesn’t make sense.
This is also kinda what I was thinking. I personally like the limit of 5 because things are very fun right now, the way they are. Any more…and I think it would impact gameplay too much…
As far as making sense goes, it probably would “make sense” that you could hit them all…but that wouldn’t be a fun way to play the game. As far as stuns go, I think a static field does currently work against a hole zerg. AFAIK there’s not a player limit on that, or on warding fields.
Correct me if I’m wrong though.
The fact that you said a thief “bugged” their way into the keep kinda spoils your argument. If it was a thief…he didn’t bug his way in. He was stealth hiding the whole time and a proper sweep could have revealed him.
It’s perfectly acceptable for a thief to hide, then res a mesmer, and have that mesmer portal people in.
If ANet removed the AoE cap, it would be a game-breaking decision. I don’t think you’re thinking through the consequences of removing the cap….
TC’s meta revolves around being universally friendly and good natured. FA’s seems to revolve around being nearly universally angry and angsty, especially when it comes to TC .
Please, please…someone else tell me the can see the irony in this statement.
TC is friendly – except when making baseless assumptions on FA.
Hate to break it to you – FA is filled with nice and friendly people.
Then do me a favor and display that in this thread. I started in here this morning with a friendly tone and attitude toward both DB and FA. Unfortunately FA has shown all day long that they only know how to reply to a compliment with a troll.
Do yourself a favor and read the last several pages of this thread. Look who’s making all the assumptions.
You seem very angry. I’d recommend taking a step back and then taking a few deep breathes. The weekend was full of great fights and this week will be too. Have fun don’t be angry! This is a fun match up.
Don’t confuse passion with anger.

I mean…seriously? You guys REALLY think TC actively pursues a metagame of manipulating servers through friendliness? Are you THAT jaded toward the world, or is it just limited to this game? We came into T2 friendly with KN. KN dropped to T3 with us still being friendly toward them…and very sad to see them go. They’re a fantastic crowd. the difference? KN didn’t spend the week trolling TC in this thread.
And the rumors that were started about TC paying for the transfers of over 500 players? Yeah, sorry, but TC doesn’t have any organized system of transferring players…and we didn’t get ANYWHERE close to 500. I’d be surprised if we even got 100 transfers. And yet you guys assume…and circulate it like it’s fact. All transfers that were TC paid were either guild sponsored, or individual sponsored. All of them were based on specific requests for help, and those sponsoring always expect to be met halfway in some respect. No free rides for full guilds or any of that garbage that the rumormill has been spewing.
Don’t give me a line about TC making “baseless assumptions.” That junk just makes the poster sound deluded and desperate.

I’m not sure why some TC posters think they are in a position to push FA to tier 3.
That was already tried for 2 months straight without success and now with another strong contender here, you’ve got to watch your other flank.
Feel free to try, but you’re just hurting youself.
We’ve already proven that T2 is a good place for us. If you want a week without us, feel free to drop to tier 3 or jump to tier 1.
TC does not want FA out of T2!!!
You belong in T2…
DB, like KN has come out strong in our first match-up. They are putting the pressure on both TC and FA and have taken a big lead. (they out man us both through the course of the day) with strong coverage in all the maps. ( plus not all of the guilds have transferred to DB yet, so we have not seen their full strength)
Very quickly DB has become the Goliath in T2.
It will take both servers to keep them in check. If not, they will have a quick and easy path to T1. (not to mention you will be stuck with us for another 8 weeks)
We have had our “issues” before TC and FA.
- buries the hatchet*
We need to co-exist or this will be a very, very, very long couple of weeks.I don’t speak for all of FA, but I think it is safe to say that a majority of the sever will never “work with” TC for a long time. TC needs to man up and play WvWvW the way it should be.
What in the world does that even mean? O_o
What is “how it should be,” and who decides “how it should be?”
Besides, TC is well liked by plenty of servers and people. Heck it’s widely considered the server with the best community. The only place TC gets any hate is pretty much just in this weekly WvW thread, and it’s mostly by people with odd doses of pent-up anger.
In answer to your question, I think a lot of people on FA are aware that TC’s meta revolves around befriending one of the other two servers and using it as a meat shield and distraction while TC works on PPT. We have no desire to get involved in that with you. If you want PPT – get PPT. We want fights and we don’t need to buddy up with a second server to get them. That actually defeats our goal.
/rolleyes
TC’s meta revolves around being universally friendly and good natured. FA’s seems to revolve around being nearly universally angry and angsty, especially when it comes to TC. These two ideas don’t mix, and you make blind assumptions like “TC is being friendly to KN so they must be trying to manipulate them.” We’re friendly to every opponent until they start trolling us. End of story.
Stop with your conspiracy theories. FA are the ones who started this fight. TCers would be happy to bury the hatchet if FA stopped prodding everyone with pointy objects.

Building a ballista to spawn camp? =( For shame, FABLers.
Meh, TC spawn camped KN. KN spawn camped TC. FA spawn camped TC. People spawn camp. It just happens.
I think spawn camping is a truly viable game mechanic and should be considered part of the metagame. If you can slow the enemy reinforcements down, and it assists your team, what in the world is wrong with that? The goal is to frustrate and defeat the “enemy.” If you’re frustrating the enemy doing something that is perfectly acceptable (read: not an exploit), I see no problem with it at all.
I personally don’t spawn camp, and I enjoy wiping spawn campers, but I understand exactly why it’s done.

Current powerhouse?. Waiter, I’ll have whatever Dhampyr’s having.
Haha, I think he dipped into the “Theoretical” bourbon on that comment. I think in “theory” TC is the powerhouse, and our showing this weekend has been around 50% of the normal weekend numbers we’ve had over the past few weeks. We have the numbers to be amazing…but they’ve been staying home.
Weak numbers have been a REAL problem for us all weekend. It was hard to get groups of 15 together to make pushes in FABL and DBBL for most of the time. Even when we took junk, FA and DB showed up in force and took it back within minutes.
It’s alright though. I’m glad there’s pressure. I feel like after a high pressure week, TC has traditionally come out of the woodwork, fists swinging. Let’s hope that rings true again!
I’m surprised by all the TC comments about their fairweathers over the last few pages of this thread. It feels like only a couple of days ago that people from your server were painting FA with a fairweather paintbrush and talking about TC’s unwavering commitment – very odd stuff.
Loving this tier with DB. You guys are a lot of fun. It’s nice to have another server in this tier that enjoys some good fights just to fight.
Here’s to a great week.
:-P Yeah, every server has fairweathers. That said, our big-name commanders and guilds are not fairweathers and a lot of them did not show up for most of the weekend. I think they just, plain, took the weekend off for some R&R.
Also, TC loves good fights and always has. There’s nothing like a BT vs (insert TC big guild here) game of chess. BT are excellent at field combat and have helped our TC guilds hone their skills and techniques. I haven’t had a lot of personal experience against VK zergs, so I can’t say much on that topic. I hear good things though. :-P
And I’ll echo that last sentiment. I think if players can just forget the angst between the servers, there will be many great weeks to come. Share the <3 folks!
That’s quite a list of achievements. If you are looking for a bigger/ better goal, I’d suggest farming blues/greens, and going for the top tier for Agent of Entropy
Agent of Entropy is infinite. There’s no top tier.
There was a time when people played games simply for the fun of playing them. I feel like GW2 offers a great opportunity for this once you have grown tired of chasing achievements (whether figurative or literal).
I just finished grinding out my legendary… Now I’m saving money for a permanent bank contract.
In the meantime, I’m playing WvW like crazy. No real rewards from WvW…but I’m just, plain, having fun. And that’s all that matters.
Current powerhouse?. Waiter, I’ll have whatever Dhampyr’s having.

FA has beaten TC. TC has beaten FA.
It is very, very, VERY tempting for me to add the numbers of how often FA beat TC and how often TC beat FA. But I’m not gonne do that, no, I’m not!
The numbers aren’t important. The fact is that they’re capable, and have done it before. We’re all good servers!
From the wiki:" Applying an upgrade to an item causes it to become soulbound, except for account bound gear, which will remain account bound after upgrading."
So they are souldbound to you now and that is why you can’t send them.
TYVM, now the devs need to fix the item wording when this is done because the items are not being listed as soulbound once Runed, they STILL SAY “Soulbound on use”.
I have noticed this bug… And if you apply a rune on a new piece of armor and then try to put it on, it still warns you about becoming soulbound….even though it technically already is.
The reason, I’m sure, is that they don’t want thousands of variants of armor ending up on the trading post. Take any piece of armor and multiply it times the number of runes in the game (there are TONS), and you end up with a trading post experience that is utterly unmanageable.
Your logic is slightly flawed in that dropped armour can itself contain nearly all the possible runes in the game. Same with weapons and sigils (obvious exceptions are sigils/runes from dungeons to name one).
Check the TP. The drops with embedded runes are always of the same type in a given level range, or it’s specific to the location you got the drop from. (CoF drops rare gear with runes of the baelfire, for instance.)
For instance, level 20 green light pants have the same runes. Level 20 green light coats might have a different rune than the pants, but all the runes are the same on the level 20 green light coats.

I like taking down champions. You can do most all of them solo if you try. =)
This one you can’t. It’s got some unique abilities that a single player simply can’t survive under normal circumstances. Rangers can distract it with their pets, and that’s about the only way you can solo it.
I’ve been hoping for a nerf-to-veteran on this sucker for a long time.

This is gonna eff over EB the most i fell, all its going to do is force the fights into stonemist more leading to ever more huge skill lag, as who ever controls SM can treb most of the towers on the map, not to metion that OL is the only keep able to treb SM. If this is the case the way trebs work or their siege placement needs to be changed
OL needs to be able to treb SM. OL is the hardest to defend keep on the map, and any help they can get is better. If they balance up that map so OL/Anz/Mends aren’t horrible, then I can see getting rid of the ability to treb SM. Besides, the treb positions are easy to counter…
I only support the change if they get rid of some of the stupid places that trebs can hit important stuff from. Trebbing bay from garrison….while being unable to treb hills from garrison, for instance. Either make both within range, or chop the corner off that garrison cliff so trebs can’t be placed there anymore to hit bay. Bay is COMPLETELY unbalanced at the moment. Not only is it stupidly easy to get into, but the lord room is 10x hard to defend as the one in hills.
I suspect that they think this imbalance is OK because everyone has a home map with the same advantages (provided you actually own Garrison). You can treb their Bay, they can treb the other servers Bay, and that other server can treb yours. I don’t agree with that logic and I find it (personally) damaging to the overall meta when methods to defend are being removed. Again, this favors the zerg flash building a couple trebs and being quick enough to take out defenses. If anything I personally think we need more defensive capabilities such that more thought is needed into an attack instead of the mindless zerg that often runs rampant.
The problem is when you’re on the dominating server’s borderland….and you’re on the bay side of it. They’re already dominating, and your server is at an instant disadvantage. It’s a badly balanced keep on a badly balanced map…

Either make both within range, or chop the corner off that garrison cliff so trebs can’t be placed there anymore to hit bay. Bay is COMPLETELY unbalanced at the moment. Not only is it stupidly easy to get into (can be trebbed from bay OR briar, while there’s no “good” treb position for hills), but the lord room is 10x hard to defend as the one in hills.
Also, the treb positions possible in EB are just silly. They need to remove those possibilities before they make a game-breaking decision like removing swirling winds, etc.
I really do support the removal of the treb-blockers. I just think that it makes NO sense to remove the treb blockers before fixing the problems with trebbing in the first place.
So by this notion, TC should have gone after Kain, instead of FA last week, since FA consistently had a higher score. Funny though how FA somehow continuously is appeared to be a weak opponent, but how long have we been here?
Anyone who thinks FA is weak is deluding themselves. No one gets to T2 by being weak. All three servers are excellent. We all have diverse personalities which sometimes clash, but skill is not really up for debate here.
FA has beaten TC. TC has beaten FA. KN has beaten both FA and TC. FA and TC have both beaten KN. DB is currently beating TC and FA.
No one sucks….
Is it just me or does it feel like a lot of TC are using this as a by-week? Our turnout this weekend seems to be almost abysmal. It feels like a lot of people took a break this week, and its showing.
No question at all. Our turnout this weekend was in the neighborhood of half as many people as we had last weekend and the weekend before.
It’s really OK though. I think a lot of TCers needed a break, and we’ll be back in action before long. We’ve always done best under pressure.
That said, DB has been nothing short of awesome this weekend as well. Congrats to you guys on your explosive entrance to T2. Sad to see KN go, but glad for you guys as well!
uncontested on TC
Still uncontested on Tarnished Coast
Looking for NA Plz!
Open on Tarnished Coast.
Opened on Tarnished Coast
I got booted from CoF P1 tonight on my mesmer because I forgot the timewarp at the last boss. Just slipped my mind.
Meanwhile three of the warriors died at different points in the dungeon (one FOUR times), and they were apparently all just fine, and in no need of kicking.
Every other thing I did in the dungeon was perfectly flawless.
I can’t stand jerks.
(edited by Hickeroar.9734)
For now, this change is the way going forward.
SMH. It’s a lousy change which messes up reset night for a huge portion of NA. Going forward is absolutely the wrong decision.
Is this a joke, or did WM really transfer to blackgate?
This sounds like one of those problems with a wonderful solution…except the execution would take a nasty rewrite of some big thing that would take a developer a month.
I can hope though!
No. Having the enemy name (and health bar as a result) is critical in telling if there’s someone being stealth-rezzed right in front of you.
I would recommend a grey name, and the healthbar can still be present.
+1 to this idea. Many times in the midst of a big zerg fight I’ve dropped AOE or run in swinging….over a bunch of dead enemies. I would love to see the names get greyed out, or changed to a very dark red or something. Some kind of indicator as to the status of the player.
Lol this^^^^
This has ruined reset night for 3/4 of the US to make it very slightly better for EU??? Come on!
If I was in EU position and reset was at 2am, making it midnight would make no difference to me. Being it is Saturday at 2am, it would make no difference.
And yet it DOES make a rather major difference.
The amount of players playing at midnight is MUCH higher than those playing at 2am.
But it drops off within 30 minutes of midnight. Two ticks is not enough to count for anything.
Getting the server populated with regular, skilled people for the hours that it will be queued up, is far more important to the NA crew than 30 extra minutes of populated coverage in the EU.
Here’s the biggest problem with this change: I can’t play resets anymore. And by “I” I mean anyone who keeps a similar (read: normal) work schedule in the US. I’m CST, and this is going to be even worse for anyone in MST or PST.
By making things slightly more convenient for EU, they’ve made things completely impossible for a large chunk of the US. That’s an utterly broken decision, which needs to be rescinded.
No one thinks they’re TRYING to screw us over. It’s just obvious that they didn’t think this through.
If there’s “no way” to have separate EU and NA reset times…then the application was engineered badly and needs to be fixed. These are separate data-centers an ocean apart from each other. Saying it’s not possible it’s just an excuse for not wanting to put forth the effort to do it.
I have seen quite a few posts that seems to imply that ArenaNet is doing this just to screw NA.
I think they have thought it through quite a bit, and most likely have the numbers that showed that this would be the best temporary solution. For all we know the time with amount of players on both sides of the pond are these new reset times.
We don’t have the numbers, ArenaNet does, so why assume they have not based their decision on said numbers?
As was implied by the announcement, they have probably only been looking into this for a couple days. I doubt they gave this issue much thought at all, and this is probably just a knee-jerk decision caused by the griping of a few players.
ANet has a (rapidly building) history in GW2 of hearing a few players gripe…then making quick, unwise decisions that tick off the majority of the player base.
I like tags to be accessible, as they are now.
It’s “almost” always better to have someone with a tag on the map, even if they’re not a great commander, just to provide some organization and strength of numbers. If they’re horrible…people stop following them anyway.
I have only seen a tag being abused in WvW like twice, ever. I see no reason at all to make them harder to get. Arguments “for” this idea are usually just people who are angry they can’t afford one themselves.
What would be the point?
