It’s a horrible idea to make people play even more the same thing over and over again…

What I rather would like to see is a system where you need to do all kinds of events all over the world to get the needed parts to complete your precursor.

For example you could need some kind of unique essence which you can get by participating in events all over Kessex Hills. Other part you could get by completing a specific event – like killing priest of Balthazar.

So you would travel all over the world doing hundreds of different things instead of doing dungeons over and over again.

It’s been over 2 weeks and the guild I’m in still hasn’t gotten the influence to do guild missions yet. So to me it feels like nothing happened for the february update.

It requires some team work to unlock. You get most influence when playing together – so try that.

It’s rather discussion so about 1000 of those posts say that the guild missions aren’t so bad or even say that their great – including me (it got my guild finally working together and meet more often – it’s a really great experience and i’m looking forward to checkout other types of this content).

Continuous Dungeon

Dungeon(s) not meant to be completed in 1-sitting & resets at the end of the week. Has a set loot table per boss & challenging/fun. Maybe 8 player setup so we can have some split team mechanics to boss fights instead of everyone just zerging on the boss (and not just anti-melee/spam aoe type fights).

When I started FoTm I heard of the different levels & was excited… Only to discover its just a matter of doing the dungeon repeatedly to “level up” in order to reach high enough level to obtain decent loot. Seems pretty dull, I don’t even bother doing fractals as a result & yea that’s my personal choice but why should I have to do the same dungeon 10+ times just to start getting loot that’s not a bag?

I think you should try Guild Missions. I’ve tried Bounty so far and it’s pretty close to what you describe. Although the bounty missions are not strictly about boss mechanics but rather splitting and coordinating your team.

Pretty sure it is in reference to the dynamic events.

There are some events where you defend an outpost from an onslaught of Centaurs. If you fail or are not there, another event will come up to take it back etc.

Then why mention the permanence at all? None of that is felt in the brief 5 minutes before the event is restarted. I’m not saying events shouldn’t be restarted, but aren’t they working with an idea that can never come to fruition?

Theoretically the town can stay saved as long as there are players guarding it and fighting the centaurs back.

Oh comon dont kid yourself guild events dont need any coordiantion whatsoever they just need alots of ppl in same place thats it.

Which one of the guild missions can be completed this way?

Bounty, you just track 2-6 npcs and kill them thats it how is this something i need to be with 40ppl on ts? Just let ppl spread out and say where they are and go. Its not really a rocket science¨, you just need alots of ppl to kill them before time expires…

First of all most of raids are done with much less people then 40…

“they just need alots of ppl in same place thats it” – so how are you going to kill 6(2 and 4 are for smaller groups) bosses in different places when all your teammates are in the same place? You need to know where they are and coordinate your efforts.

Guild Bounty is not about killing bosses (ie. it’s not about boss mechanics) but about killing spread out bosses in 15 minutes.

PS Raid description with your words: “you just kill 2-6 npcs and thats it how is this something i need to be with 40ppl on ts?” lol

I have no problem with content that requires large coordinated groups but since iam in small guild and theres no function to look up for ppl for this kinds of stuffs (in mmo game so many months after release? Mindblowing!!).

Blizzard added raid finder to WoW after years not months from release and the raid runs your put in from that are toned down version of real runs.

It’s because finders doesn’t work for things that require large coordinated groups.

I have over 150 pristine relics, maximum AR, capacitor fully upgraded so i have no more interrest in Fotm (i would love if they add more fractals i would start playing them again for sure). I have prettier models then fractal weapons, so even if i gotten them i have no use for them basicly i do fractals for gold farm. Also i did Fotm sooo many times theres almost no challange, only fractal which i consider hard is shaman and thats only because there is high chance that my teammates will fail (no offence to anybody i play thief so shaman is fairly easy for me with so many evades, smoke screen and daggerstorm).
My guild is small so theres no way for me to even try out guild missions. I have no pleasure in doing daily and for me i just want to have best item in every slot thats basically my goal in games like this. So me getting ascedent gear through daily system is incredibly frustrating. WvW atm is mess, culling abusing everywhere, also i have no joy in spaming cluster arrows into zerg i dont feel like iam doing anything and theres literally no purpose or reward in WvW right now. Only thing i do now is collecting T6 mats and gold on my legendary because thers literally nothing else left to do…

So you are playing a lot… In that case you should play more then one game at a time.

Also consider games other MMO’s as in most of them the end-game content is for large coordinated groups.

Atm. every new thing thats been recently introduced in GW2 is midnless time sink without any real challange and i must say i really dont like where GW2 is heading…

Fotm is challenging as the Guild Missions (especially Guild Mission CHALLENGE – as I heard). You can’t expect any single player content to be challenging and the real challenge comes from cooperative play – it’s a multiplayer game after all. This is how it is in all MMO’s.

PS Or maybe the revamped World Bosses will be something for you (but I really cant tell you what you can expect from that).

AB, HA, Deep, UW, FoW, Urgoz, TA, missions with friends. Happy now?

Unfortunately I’m not happy… What I want to know is what made you play: Deep, UW, FoW, Urgoz? Was it one time thing and after that you were done?

And about AB, HA, TA. Their counterpart in Gw2 is SPvP. Character equipment in those is detached from PvE so that can’t be the problem.

I never cared about achievements, besides, those achievements weren’t getting you anything except titles, so it was in line with horizontal progression thing, if you cared about it > you do it and get your titles and it doesn’t affect anything at all, if not, then you just ignore it, just like i did. Gear is different, it tied to your performance one way or another.

Reward Laurels to Level 80 Characters

in Suggestions

Posted by: HiddenNick.7206

HiddenNick.7206

When a character levels from 79 to 80, 30 Laurels should be rewarded for that character. This would help the altoholics out there gearing their new 80 toons with Ascended items.

1. Laurels are account bound.
2. Most people need just 30 laurels for amulet so what would be the point of doing dailies after they get everything what they want?

Let’s say you have two 80s. That would net you 60 Laurels. As of today, you could have accrued ~40 Laurels from dailies and monthlies. Now you have 100 Laurels.

With the two 80s you have, you could either dump all the Laurels for Ascended gear to one character, giving him two rings and an amulet. Or you could give one Ascended gear to one of your 80 and two to another. Or if you don’t like the whole Ascended business, you can use those Laurels for the Tonic or the Mini-pets.

There is effort put in on leveling an 80 toon. Why not reward those who like multiple alts with Laurels that could guarantee them Ascended gear? The suggestion came up after reading a topic about how Alts are getting shafted out of Ascended gear.

Laurels was added to give people something to do AFTER 80. So your idea is just horrible.

I was going to try and switch from NA to EU since the PvP takes for ever to pop for 2-Team games and for 8-Team it almost NEVER. Tried waiting for over and hour and a half and nothing.

Now when I want to transfer they want to charge me a ridiculous 1800 gems. I love how they set up this horrific cost AFTER they stopped giving gems for PvP or soon after. And even if they did give us the gems back it would still take me forever to farm that up. I’m definitely not going to invest anymore money into this game. They already swindled me into paying money for things in this game by feeding me BS like they are gonna make this game this and that and blah blah blah. Useless patch after useless patch.

God I hope this doesn’t mean it’s time to quit this game. Your call ANet.

HiddenNick.7206

I’m still shocked that just by a title name a developer would comment just to threaten to close this thread down. Now that is personally the most shocking but clearly a statment that Anet has changed.

I’m really shocked that people take games so serious. Game companies are not your friends! The reasons why you like one company above another is pure PR. Blizzard isn’t the good guy and Activision isn’t the bad guy. Both of them just want to make money! Do you think that any of their co’s play games and want their only goal is so that people have fun with their products?

Why ANet and NCsoft still has and always will have my respect? It’s not because of the good PR (Manifesto) or bad PR (moderator post). But purely because they’ve taken risk to develop something totally new (in my opinion) within 6 years! And they still develop the game 6 months after release! And they even don’t force any of their players to pay for that.

PS And the moderator didn’t threaten but just warn(inform) the OP so that the thread could stay OPEN! How is that bad?

Any changes to end-game content?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Everything else in the game is accomplished through zergs. Literally everything else. So yes, dungeons, fractals, and sPvP are what I consider endgame.

Guild Missions? Jp’s? Grenth world event?

And that:

Dungeons were revamped and / or nerfed, with no additional rewards added.

Is a lie. They’ve added a pile of silver from any of the dungeon bosses and a Bag of Goods that consists of Karma Potion, Bag of Coins and few dungeon specific Trophies. Also the dungeon completion reward was improved few times (more karma, more gold and more trophies on first run).

And the end-game is not what you do with cooperative gameplay. But everything you do after max level. Like in WoW: dailies, reputation farming etc…

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

HiddenNick.7206

I’m thinking that we consider the same things “endgame”, OP. If true, then:

Fractals were added in November. It is a good dungeon, though extremely repetitive. Though it has many levels of difficulty, it offers little additional challenge past Level 10.

Two new sPvP maps have been added since release. Both are fun. The newest one is based on CTF, which is always great.

And that’s it.

Dungeons were revamped and / or nerfed, with no additional rewards added.
No new Fractals have been added since their initial launch.

And that’s everything you came up with?! The only thing that matters to you is Dungeons Instances count and PvP map count?! This are the only things noticeable by you?!

I’m actually getting off topic. I’m not really here to attack Guild Wars 2, I was merely curious if any changes had been made that might make the game more fun to regularly play. Or if any changes have been considered, proposed, or announced by the Development team. I understand not everyone has a problem with this game (if they did, they probably wouldn’t still be playing).

Anyways, it sounds as if there are no plans of making changes to encourage gameplay, and that was really my only question (I tried googling it but couldn’t find any information on changes or upcoming changes).

Thanks for your input.

And that’s you final opinion… People told you about a lot of new stuff in the game and you still conclude with that.

lol, where did anyone in this thread mention any “new stuff?” Are we reading the same thread?

gw2lfg.com That’s how people find dungeon groups. It works. It’s that simple.

What’s even simpler is finding a guild of like minded people and playing with them. My guild runs stuff almost every day. Why pug stuff when there are great guilds out there?

And now, with the new guild missions, there’s other organized stuff for guilds to do.

The first time I played Guild Wars 2 I was blown away at how amazing and innovative it was until I got to high level and realized that there was no incentive or reward for playing the game.

Out of curiosity has this changed? Have they added a dungeon queue system, any incentives for grouping with other players, or significant and meaningful rewards for logging into the game and playing?

The last time I played GW2 even leveling a new character seemed irrelevant as you didn’t feel anymore powerful at level 60 than you did at level 40, and if you wanted to make “PVP” your end-game then your level really didn’t matter at all unless you enjoyed the talentless zerg fest WvWvW — I personally didn’t like this. Large-scale PVP is historically not popular even in other MMOs (Uldum, Isle of the Conquest etc.).

Have any changes been made to remedy these problems? Because I would love to play this game again without feeling like I’m investing a large amount of time to accomplish nothing.

Dude just launch the client (by clicking the icon on your desktop – its not so hard!) and checkout yourself. Its free to play!

Hopefully this will repair this economy once and for all.

Dude this is MMO! If you want to play alone then look for other game. If you want to play an MMO then prepare to organize and play with a large bunch of people!

Gw2 is so nice to everyone that it enables them to experience everything without even joining a guild. But… If you really want to achieve something then you need to play with others and by this I mean a lot of other people.

Guild Missions sneak peek

HiddenNick.7206

The first Bounty mission requires only two champion-level bosses to be killed in 15 minutes. Unless those champions have a very large amount of health, a guild of 4-6 could easily do it.

I think that those bosses are something more then ordinary champions and dealing with them will require a bunch of people… So killing them both at the same time probably require 5 people at each boss and that is 10 in total. I can be wrong.

Take in mind that the guild missions suppose to be long running feature. I really don’t think that acquiring influence is going to be a problem for any guild with 15+ reasonably active players. I know that a lot of people are whining about the amounts of influence required… But I personally don’t think that this is going to be a major problem.

This amount of needed influence is killing many many smaller guilds but do not bother big guilds in any way. An extremly bad choice of design just make more player frustrated, as they have not a whiff of a chance in a smaller guild.

Guild Missions are for 15 players+. I think that 15 players are able to acquire this amount of influence pretty easily in a week.

A see two options here:
1. Glow effects could be sigil dependent. Different sigils could create different glow effects.
2. Add Enchanting profession.

Coordination – As stated on the main page: “These missions, designed for coordinated group play…”

as it is now anet cannot find their footing for open world pve endgame.

litteraly, go in orr and “wait” for temples to open up while killing random mobs and gathering..
it just doesnt cut it.

gw2 is great GREAT fun in open world when you are going for map completion because you stumble on all those cool events!

but as a farming mode? i dont think it does it.
its going to be hard to keep the players in the zones.
its mostly for alts i guess.
but maxed out characters have Fotm or Wvw for them.
thats it.

That’s why they are making changes… Dude… They aren’t adding more of the same but new things and reasons to participate in the events.

and fotm are kind of.. generic. missing lore or actually any cool flavor.
its purely “gameplay”.

its a matter of merging the challenge and cooperation of dungeon in the open world.
or simply pull off more instanced content! (with cool lore this time please… not random “fracktals”.

Instanced content isn’t the way to go… Everyone is doing that and only WoW had any success with it.

Personally I think that’s not about whatever content is instanced or not. It’s more about that is it good with bringing people together.
