Wings look so ridiculous

HiddenNick.7206

I’m not talking about the gliders which are fine but the wings as back item look so ridiculous and don’t really match the original style of GW1 imo. Should’ve left them in Aion.

I don’t disagree, but the djinn’s outta the bottle. Not really sure what point there is to this thread.

I also can’t see the point… They aren’t going to just remove them now… But I must agree that adding them into the game was a mistake. As adding a lot of other things… Players no longer match the surrounding world and its characters.

What to do now that PoF has been announced?

What would make me want to return: Dungeons redesign and at least 2 new dungeons located in HoT maps.

Dungeons? Really? Why?

It was the content I enjoyed the most and dungeons have a lot of potential if they get an update to withstand the power creep that came along with HoT. To me it was great because you did not depend that much on everyone being online (as raids) and they were a great source of income.

For me dungeons are the most repetitive and static content in the entire game. It also has no place and point being in the game. There are fractlas after all that are much more re-playable and feature the same team based gameplay type.

Why Events are not a replacement for Quests

Events used to be a bit more complicated than that. Nów they are very simple and stripped from story. Other than that there are more things to do in the game than just the events. Like living story episodes that are very similar to quests. Or achievements that are getting more and more similar to original mmo style quests.

The last outfit that ANet released was Sentinel. And those guys are meant to fight Kralkatorrik. Some of the in-game characters was also outfitet in these. So I think that ANet already started working toward their new story and while doing so they decided to push out some of their current work for extra monay.

Mithril - as the most common metal...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

HiddenNick.7206

Can we have other metal nodes than Mithril in 80 areas?

It’s as inconvenient as it’s just plain silly that Mithril is the most common metal in the entire game… It drops from all the Heavy trash you find. And all the areas that are filled with players have only Mithril nodes. It’s becoming a weed in this sense…

The current state of metal nodes also encourages farming as it’s only way to acquire large amounts of other metal types.

Fix it! Thanks!

  • 11 zones have mithril as a primary node (4 HoT zones, 3 post-launch core zones, and 4 at-launch zones)
  • 2 additional zones include mithril as potential nodes
  • 29 zones do not have mithril as potential nodes.

You want more of something else? Head for the other zones.

Just look at TP… The prices for low tier metals are 4 times higher than the price for high tier Mithril ore. It’s not about how many zones have certain types of nodes. It’s more about how many people play zones with those types of nodes.

And I’ve already covered why I don’t farm iron ore zones… In short: I rather have fun!

Thanks!

Well, considering it drops from level 80 gear, and is located in level 80 areas….

Oh right, it is a level 80 material. Which, most people are. Of course there are going to be common drops for it. If you really need to find some want to dispose of it, find wvw guilds on your server, they like it for their siege. Or collection 250 and sell it for 2g.

If you want iron, and platinum, you know what zones those are in, and are welcome to go there for them.

And basically, you described farming. Nodes are just that, farming nodes. What else do you do besides go up and farm the node? o.O

Hmm… I really like to just enjoy the game, events etc… So for me, the necessity of running through areas just to get iron is really annoying and seems awkward.

Also Iron is used by level 80 characters for crafting… So… It really seems like natural thing to do to add couple of iron/platinum nodes into level 80 areas.

Thanks!

Problem 2: Mastery Track Tiers aren’t Horizontal
Levels by Any Other Name: Mastery Track Tiers

TL;DR, Masteries are vertical progression, just like the existing leveling system is. Calling it “not the typical” is disingenuous and builds hype that is bound to get disappointed. But with a few simple changes, it can shift from raw vertical to almost horizontal, with added benefits.

I don’t see a problem with vertical progression as long as it doesn’t ruin all your current progress.

What about gear progression?

HiddenNick.7206

I really liked all the news about Mastery system and Profession specializations. This is the kind of thing that I was asking for! For example in this thread. And the only answer I did get from you guys was: go back to WoW… Finally I did get an awesome answer from Arena Net and I’m more then happy now.
But I must ask again: what about gear progression. And I don’t mean vertical progression because this is NOT what I want! I’m asking about new ways to customize our gear. Something like gear specialization that allows you to alter your weapon skills. I’m asking about the infusions? Are there going to be more of those? I would also like to see weapons with unique and fixed sigils. Something that would really make the gear unique.
I’m asking this because that kind of things would really make the rewards more fun and exciting. And a lot less like: “two blues and a green”. I would really like to see gear rewards that make you excited because they enable you to play in a different and unique way. Instead of just annoying you because the only thing you can do with that rare item you just got after killing that huge dragon is to salvage it for ecto.

No it isn’t. Why bother to even post this garbage? Go back to wow.

It’s really sad that so many gw2 white knights explain to themselves this way why people criticize the game…

No! I don’t play WoW! I played gw1 hundreds of hours! And I hate this game! And I hate that it was so promising(had a lot of fun with the original release) and now it became that boring and pointless skin grind. There is no gameplay, challenge, reward or fun in here anymore. Just farming… For a new dress for your doll. No thanks!

Useful stuff = Vertical progression: getting better things than you have.
Skin grind = Horizontal progression: no increase in stats, just pretty to look at.

You have your horizontal progression.

This is exactly right.

OP, what did you think horizontal progression meant?

New skills, traits, professions, weapons, new infusions, useful runes, useful sigils, unique weapons(with unique sigil type attributes), maybe some other entirely new options…

I can hardly call skins a horizontal progression…

Also… The way you get new sigils/runes is a problem: open store and then press buy, done! You can’t feel like progressing this way!

Your post was simply negative. One of us is displaying bias, one of us is not.

Dude… I said: “probably”! If I would change my post my post like this:

“Exactly what the Hexicz said. If you’re interested in PvE then you probably can be happy about it… There is a lot of new stuff flowing into the game. But take note that it’s either short and without any replay-ability or it’s just a huge grind for skins.”

Would you be more happy?

And being bothered only by negative posts can also be seen as displaying bias…

Edit:

Oh, I forgot, PvE is only dungeons.

Why do you assume that the content I enjoy the most are dungeons? If I would have to name the content I enjoyed the most in gw2 then it would be:
1. Revamped Tequatl
2. Nightmare Tower
3. Guild Challenges
Do you see any dungeons there? The problem is that I’m bored with pointless grind(I stopped caring about the skins since my character already have a huge pile of them) and the lame story instances(I would rather read about the story then play those instances). And I really don’t expect some gear grinding just some other reason to play then just collecting skins.

There was only few times when I really felt rewarded. And it was a long time ago. When? When I really needed the rewards! Yup… That’s mine conclusion. Almost every reward in this game is hollow. They just don’t serve any purpose. You don’t need them to kill some epic monster. You just collect them for the pure sake of collecting.

As cool as those instances can be they add very little to the game.

Dungeon Rewards for Tokens need to be improved, they could put in so much more into the vendor list for tokens. They should begin with adding new weapons and armors of ascended quality, that you can get ascended stuff also from Dungeon Token

The greatest thing about ascended gear is that they are rewarded for doing different things! And you want to exchange that for doing dungeons over and over again?! You are already rewarded with ascended mats for doing dungeons. That’s enough.

We two must play different games, because you don’t get rewarded with any ascended mats from doing Dungeons at all.
If you go into a Dungeon and beat that dungeon, all what you get are:

1-3 Gold regarding which Dungeon and which Path you played sucessfully
Around 60 Tokens of that Dungeon daily for that one Path
The Champ Bosses drop MoneyBags/Token Bags .

Empyreal Fragments

It’s a problem that needs to be solved. ArenaNET removed all the excitement and uniqueness along with vertical progression. And they didn’t give anything in return. I do understand why they did it. But that shouldn’t be an excuse for the lack of excitement when rewarded.

After reading the news about the new exclusive PVP armors, I cannot stop myself from wishing for a similar PVE counterpart. As it is now, the only prestige armor set in game, will be available for the 10-20 people that happen to win elite tournaments….

While I agree that top PVP players should get a special reward for their effords, I strongly believe that there should be a correspondant set for the people that prefer PVE.

I wish Anet would introduce an equally prestegius armor set, that could be craftable through PVE rewards and activities. I wouldn’t even mind paying 100 pristine relics per piece.

Before people start complaining that everything in PVE is easy so nothing will ever be prestigious: we have been lacking any kind of hard to obtain armor set, so now is the time to give us one of those. I am sure plenty of people will enjoy working towards one of those.

I’m wondering why did you get so many thumbs up on this forums… I have a feeling that people that agree with you doesn’t know what exactly your suggestion means. I feel this way because people here don’t agree with suggestions about adding extremely difficult content that only a handful of people can do. And basically this is what you want…

The raiding portion of any gaming population is traditionally one of the smallest (if loudest segments) of the community. Anet, in my opinion, can’t spare the time to make challenging raids like the kind you’re asking for…unless I guess they included very easy modes for people who want to try the content. However, Anet has said all along they want their population in the open world. They want a living breathing world. I’m not sure how that can happen in a series of instances.

I’m pretty sure you’re not going to see instanced raids in this game.

I don’t want to burst a bubble for you that a large portion of the last few updates was instances….

Difference between them and raids is that they are easy, soloable and almost unreplayable(not that they can’t be replayed it’s that there is no real reason to replay them).

You’re not bursting my bubble. Those instances are quick hits. Most people aren’t running them over and over again. They take people out of the world for a tiny amount of time and put them back in. That’s not really what a raid is, traditionally.

The game is centered on the open world. In fact, in the last LS, they actually sent people to open world events, which you had to do to complete the living story. I’m not sure how you can compare those instances to the types of raids the OP is asking for.

Hmm… I don’t think that after that quick hits there much more to do in the last update. So I really can’t see what your arguments suppose to prove? Almost all (like 95%) of the open world content right now is two years old. How is that testifying in your favor?
I do agree with the intention to keep people in the world… But I can’t see what is AN doing to make that happen.

PS: About the dry top: I’m absolutely sure that there are many more people doing two years old dungeons then spending time in there.

Third was really disappointing… After very short story there was almost nothing to do. I’ve spent about 2-3 hours with that content.
It’s probably because I didn’t care much about the introduced rewards (weapons with bugs inside, kites and plants growing from my characters back does not fit my holy fire wielding guardian so well).

How was it for you?

There’s lots of dungeons and lots of open group play in the game, in PVE, PVP, and WvW. Let me complete my PS and LS stories without having to look for a group.

We are talking only about PvE here…

Most of the dungeons are two years old now and only few paths are played more frequently. Most of the group events aren’t challenging. They just require more then few people to complete.

And no one want’s to take away single player versions of LS story. I just want a group version of some of the instances added (like Concordia or latest Ascalon boss fight).

It’s not only about how we prefer to play… It’s also about that the story instances are short and without high replayability value. But it’s also a majority of the content we get. And I don’t think that any MMO should focus on such content.

You keep saying that, but the chance for an Exotic, or better, maybe, is what you can find in those chests behind those Veterans, etc. That seems like more than ‘zero rewards’ to me. /shrug

I can’t understand this… If someone feels like there are no rewards then he has right to do so! You have to assume that he is saying true. And you shouldn’t claim that he has no right to feel this way.

I can’t understand feeling that Exotics equate to ‘zero rewards’, either. I did say that such loot felt like a reward to me. OP keeps asserting nothing but ‘trash’ drops from said chests or Vets. What does the OP want, then? A Precursor in every chest? Something else that drops even more infrequently? What?

OP expects to feel rewarded. Currently he doesn’t have this feeling. If it’s impossible to reward him with exotics or precursors more frequently, which in fact is the case, then AN needs to figure out other ways to reward its players. So it’s not a problem with the OP but the game.

I do feel the same way as the OP. Rewards are mostly unexciting and useless in this game. There is absolutely no reason to visit some random cave mentioned by the OP. Not even some lore that you can learn.
