Loot scales with your personal level and zone level. If you primarily kill mobs in high level zones 70+ they will be better than farming on a low level zone with a lvl 80 character. The chances of better quality drops is also improved with Magic Find. It does take some time to level MF so its best to salvage all White/Blue/Green quality items for more “Essence of Luck”. Check the TP for Rares/Exotic to see whether its worth it to sell or salvage for Ectos.
The value of farming World Bosses comes mainly from the Rare/Exotic bonus rewards that can be sold or salvaged for Ectos. You’ll make little to nothing off the actual Tier rewards which are like a few silver each. I mostly just do it for the Dragonite Ore + Karma.
Besides playing the TP the best way would be to just join the Champ train in Frostgorge Sound. Chance at rare drops and T6 mats which you can sell. The Boss Blits is also very good if you can get into a consistent gold group. You can potentially earn hundreds of Exotic Loot Bags if you invest the time.
Well the only true backpiece wings would be the:
“Holographic Dragon Wing Cover”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Holographic_Dragon_Wing_Cover
“Holographic Shattered Dragon Wing Cover”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Holographic_Shattered_Dragon_Wing_Cover
“Wings of the Sunless”.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Wings_of_the_Sunless
I think the “Fractal Capacitor (infused)” would look pretty nice with is glow.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fractal_Capacitor_
You can also try the “Light of Dwayna” for the angelic look, but they are small so it doesn’t quite fit as well on Charr/Norn.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Light_of_Dwayna
Boss Blitz is pretty good for leveling if you can find a consistent Gold group. After awhile it becomes incredibly boring and repetitive, but its how I leveled my Necro from 30-80 in like 2 days. You can also trade in the Festival Tokens for Tomes of Knowledge (300 each) which are best used for those last few levels that are the slowest.
Crafting doesn’t offer as much as it used to, but it still offer a fair bit of experience and its relatively cheap. I prefer to save the crafting experience until around lvl 40+ and use it with a Crafting Booster. I feel like it doesn’t scale as well if you use it very early on.
I’m still pretty new to PvP using a Necro and have been having the hardest time dealing with Thieves & Mesmers. I don’t have any issues with them when I play on my Warrior, but when I try and use my Necros Terrormancer build it has trouble keeping up.
Outside of AoE/scattering Marks and calling targets they are still incredibly difficult to follow. Any recommendations/tips on how to better deal with these classes?
What game mode are you going for? If its just PvE the gear you should have is
Weapons:
Berserker Axe (Mainhand) – Sigil of Bloodlust or Sigil of Force
Berserker Mace (Offhand) – Sigil of Battle
Berserker Sword (Offhand) – Sigil of Energy
Berserker Greatsword (2hand) – Sigil of Force + Sigil of Night
Armor:
Berserker Armor (Full) – Rune of Scholar (x6) or Rune of Strength (x6)
Trinkers:
Berserker Trinkets (Full) – Ruby Jewels (Berserker Stats)
A generic all purpose PvE Warrior (Greatsword+Axe/Mace)

Your current gear is a bit unconventional, but it should be fine in WvW as a Shout Healer. Maybe try something like this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fJAQNBiYDbkpjKPLDxzDORDUFUoX8A4BUdDpPhXIFA-TFyDABH8AAa4CA4huBl2fAVlgvo+zPK/Aw8HpAYSYE-w
Using Valkyrie + Knight trinkets is lacking in Precision so you’ll want a “Sigil of Intelligence” on your hammer to make up for it.
Strength (Assaulter) 14g/each
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_Strength
Hoelbrak (Balanced) 4g/each
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_Hoelbrak
Melandru (Bunker) 8g/each
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_Melandru
Those are the 3 best runes for just about any Warrior build. If you can afford it full Strength is the way to go for a dps build (Perma Might+7% dmg boost). Hoelbrak is the budget alternative that has lower Might duration, but offers (-20% condition duration) which is incredibly useful in WvW/PvP. I’d only use Melandru if you really need the extra Toughness. If you are mostly Zerging rather than solo roaming you probably wouldn’t need it.
As for Heal skills “Signet of Healing” is basically our only viable choice. The other burst heals can’t really sustain us and the CD are too long. You might be able to make do with “Healing Surge”, but it requires you to have full Adrenaline to get a decent heal out of it.
(edited by Highchu.3806)
You can check the average conversion rates on the TP.
Right now its about 11.5g/100 gems so 92g/800 gems
Knights is a solid “tanky” choice, but I think you would be better off with Hoelbrak runes instead of Melandru. I don’t think the extra toughness on Melandru is all the important unless you plan on roaming in a small group/solo. You definitely want the -20% condition duration though.
Cavalier/Soldier is harder to work with due to the lack of Precision. If you do decide to use either I’d probably go with Soldiers for the higher survivability and use a “Sigil of Intelligence” (best on Hammer) for guaranteed crits.
If you just equip the set it should unlock both the original and transmuted skins in your wardrobe.
Immobilization is a Condition that prevents movement/turning/dodging. Its more useful in WvW/PvP and it only lasts a couple of seconds max. You can use it offensively/defensively to halt charging/fleeing opponents giving you some time to attack or run away yourself. Ranged professions can’t turn so unless you are directly in their line of sight they can’t attack you. Its still not as good as true Control effects like (Stun/Daze) which prevents actions completely unless they use a stun breaker or it wears off naturally. Its not particularly useful in PvE where everything basically stands still anyways. Unlike WvW/PvP you can basically outrun anything as long as your aren’t Crippled yourself.
Strength/Hoelbrak is pretty typical for power+might. If you want additional Toughness theres Melandru and Trooper if you are running a shout build.
I use 6/6/0/0/2 with scepter/focus and staff in full rampager. Been using full rampager necro since about 3 months after game release and rarely lose 1v1s, 1v2s are usually do-able unless one or both of them are cheese builds, and have even won a few 1v3s and 1v4s. Pretty much any trait set-up with 6/4/x/x/x is good for hybrid though, just depends on what you prefer.
Can you link the build? I’m still learning the traits so I don’t know what 6/6/0/0/2 refers to.
Fractals are basically mini dungeons broken up into 4 levels (3 semi-random)+ (1 Boss) battle with each level progressively harder than the last. A higher difficulty scale increases the # of mobs and their levels while increasing the chances at better loot. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fractals_of_the_Mists
Starting at lvl 10 you will have a chance at Ascended rewards with increasing odds every 10 levels higher (10/20/30/40/50). Starting at level 10 there will also be an “Agony” debuff that causes you to lose health every second. It can be countered using AR (Agony Resistance) which are found only in the Infusion slots of Ascended Gear. Higher difficulty scales will require more AR to have the same effect.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Agony
Fractals are a good way to earn Karma and the daily “Pristine Fractal Relics” reward can be traded in for Ascended Rings (10 each). You will also receive regular “Fractal Relics” which can we traded for other rewards including the Exotic backpiece “Prototype Fractal Capacitor” which can be upgraded to Ascended Quality.
I’m trying to finish up leveling my Necro solely for WvW/PvP purposes and I’m not sure how to properly setup a Hybrid build. Coming for a Warrior main I’m still a bit lost as to which are the best traits/utility skills/gearing setups given that Necros are so much more diverse in their loadout options. I’ve done most of my current leveling in WvW using a Spectral build mainly due to its survivability. If possible I’d like to use something along those lines once I reach 80.
http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?fRAQNAnYWjc00abxN22webiahCy6MAi8EWBqnj2oaB-TFApAYSYE-w\
I’m not sure how I’m supposed to gear it. I’m still using the WvW vendor gear (power+vital) for the time being so I haven’t really worried about it so far. I’ve also seen many different dual wielding combinations, is Axe/Dagger good or should I change it to something else? I want to keep the staff as my secondary set though.
I’ve tried making Hammer work in PvE and its just too impractical. Its designed for group CC so its more for WvW/PvP. Its an okay weapon for trash mobs and useless on boss Defiance. I’d rather camp Longbow than Hammer in PvE.
I’d go with Fire as my first choice. I’ve always preferred Fire>Air for the AoE in group fights. Force/Accuracy are both very generic, but are still good all purpose choices even outside of WvW. If you are primarily camping Axe/Shield you probably wouldn’t get much use out of another Battle/Energy.
ok and I noticed that you cant purchase accended armor from the TP so im assuming it must not be something I could make and sell. what about guild tokens or pristine fractal relics
The Ascended Armor/Weapons themselves can’t be bought/sold on the TP. You can buy the finshed Ascended Materials “Deldrimor Steel Ingots” (5-6g) + “Bold of Damask” (12-13g). The materials required to craft each of those can be made once per day (daily reset) regardless if you have the same recipe on a different crafting discipline. You will save around 2-3g for each one you make yourself.

Most of the Ascended Trinkets can be purchased with large amounts of Laurels. The “Pristine Fractal Relics” can be traded for Ascended Rings (10 each). If you have alot of “Fractal Relics” (1350) you can trade it in for the Exotic Backpiece “Prototype Fractal Capacitor” which can be upgraded to Ascended Quality. Trading in “Guild Commendations” is the best way to get the Ascended Earrings. The regular cost of 40 laurels + 50 ecto each is insane.

I don’t think theres a site for Temples anymore. The only way to see if its open is to actually WP there and check it yourself. You either have to sit there and wait for one to open or have someone invite you to an active server/overflow.
Theres no Legendary armor yet, I shudder to think how much that would cost. Legendary weapons have the exact same stats as their Ascended counterparts. The only difference is that they have cooler skins and special effect animations. I believe the only Ascended weapons to have unique animations are the “Sunless” versions with black smoke.
According to the Wiki the only way to obtain Ascended Chests is through:
- Fractals of the Mists daily reward chest
- Defeating Tequatl the Sunless
- Guild missions
- Exotic champion loot bags
- WvW Rank chests
- Attained from the reward chest of killing all three Wurms in Triple Trouble. (Confirmed armor only)
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascended_chest
All of these methods are heavily dependent on RNG and theres no guarantee you’ll get a usable prefix for your profession. They should be thought of as extremely rare rewards and not an alternative acquisition method. If you want Ascended gear it would be faster to craft it yourself.
State wise Ascended gear is only marginally better than Exotic. It wouldn’t make much of a difference unless you plan to do very high level Fractals where you would need the infusion slots. Its best not to bother with it until endgame when you can afford to invest alot of gold.
When you do start your Ascended crafting its better to start with the Weapons before the Armor. They offer the biggest stat bonuses and are a little cheaper to craft. The Ascended items aren’t too expensive (50-60g) each and are much cheaper if you craft the Ascended mats yourself rather than buying them off the TP. The harder part is maxing out the crafting which depending on the discipline can be (~200g).
(edited by Highchu.3806)
Some item skins are exclusive to X armor type (Light/Medium/Heavy) while others are universal. If you hover over the tooltips it will show you the limitations for each.
“Can only be used by characters who wear X armor”
“Can be used by any race and profession”
“This will replace the appearance of one X armor of any weight class and unlock the skin in your account wardrobe”
Once you purchase a skin it will unlock in your wardrobe allowing you to reuse the same skin at the cost of a (Transmutation Charge) which can be purchased/earned from the Gem Store/BL Chests/Daily Achievements/Map Completion/PvP rewards.
If you are focusing on might stacking you are better off using Greatsword (Forceful Greatsword). It also provides additional movement skills that can help mitigate some damage. Your traits shouldn’t affect your survivability since its all dps utility anyways. As long as you are dodging properly and avoiding heavy attacks Healing Signet alone should easily sustain you. Also, what do you consider to be low hp %? Even without any food/potions its pretty typical to float around 60-90 % in most fights.
It really depends which class you use most often. I’m a fan of “The Dreamer” for the flying unicorns which is pretty awesome. “Bifrost” is also very nice and could be used on your Necro as well. “Sunrise/Twilight” are overused since everywhere you look someone has it.
You should checkout a previous thread where I listed the current PvE meta build.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/need-help-finding-a-warrior-pve-dungeon-build/first#post4096207
The PvE meta for pretty much every profession is the full Berserker approach. In PvE you don’t need more than your base armor as long as you dodge and pay attention to attack animation. You should be focusing purely on maximizing damage and group utility. The only time I’d recommend gearing defensively is when you are just starting out and still learning the basics. It is best to stop using it as soon as possible or it can become a crutch later on.
I highly recommend you go and get yourself a full set of Berserker armor/weapons/trinkets. For runes you want to go with [Scholar] and sigils [Force+Night] on the Greatsword. What you use for your offset is up to personal preference. Axe/Mace is the most commonly used, but you will mainly be camping Greatsword so its not that important. Just stay away from Hammer and Shield since CC (stuns/knockdown/daze) don’t work on boss Defiance. If you feel like you want a block option bring an offhand Sword which is alot better than shield.
If you’re worried about spending alot of gold on gear you can farm CoF paths 1&2 for tokens to trade in for armor+weapons. Both paths are fast and easy so it should only take about 1-2 weeks to earn enough for a complete set. You should also net a fair amount of gold from those daily dungeon runs as well.

I completely forgot about the Largos which seems very interesting. Whichever new race they choose it would need to be fairly advanced to stand alongside the other Tyrian races. I think theres enough mystery behind the Largos/Tengu to create a compelling backstory and open up new territory to explore.
I just wish we had more (free) Ascended storage space. Even after crafting my Ascended Armor/Weapons I’m sitting on way more stacks than I can use and it keeps accumulating. I have around ~30 stacks cluttering up my bank right now and if it weren’t for the extra tab I’d have been forced to destroy them long ago. I always feel bad destroying stacks of anything on the off chance I might need it later.
(edited by Highchu.3806)
There are many variations to these builds so tweak it to your playstyle. It probably won’t be a good idea going with Berserker right off the bat. Its what I’m trying to practice with and its very squishy. The X/Shield builds have a little more leeway since they can block with Shield and evade using GS. I forgot to change the armor for Hammer/GS which should be using Knights/Soldier armor + Berserker Trinkets.
If you do want extra toughness people typically use (Knights/Soldier) armor with Berserker trinkets. Everyone should have A full Berserker set for PvE so its good to make use of gear you already have. I’m not sure how much a difference it will be having Berserker armor + Soldier trinkets. Soldiers is slightly harder to work with than Knights due to the lack of precision so its common to see it used with Hammer + (Sigil of Intelligence) for guaranteed crits.
(edited by Highchu.3806)
Axe/Shield+GS is actually pretty popular right now. It won’t offer as much CC as Skullcracker/Hammer, but its fun and flexible in combat. Check it out if you like mainhand Axe.
Mace/Shield+GS:

Nope. You can check the wiki to see the available prefixes for Ascended Weapons:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascended_weapon
For the Missile Deflection+Riposte combo since it technically reflects all ranged attacks rather than blocking does it still cause bleeding? Also, does reflecting still count as being attacked triggering adrenaline?
Would be helpful if you linked the actual build, just saying 0/4/6/0/4 (GS+Mace/Shield) can have many different variations. Try using: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/
If you are looking for “sexy” or “skimpy” outfits you won’t find them here. You will have better luck trying one of the Korean MMOs (Tera perhaps). Some of the Light armor skins show more skin than others, but thats the extent of it. Once you get into the Medium/Heavy sets its all about functionality over aesthetics.
Whether you start a new character or continue an old one you will still need to relearn the class. I think it basically comes down to what you want to play the most. If you enjoy the Mesmer why not just finish leveling it since you’re so close to 80. If you find that you don’t like it anymore you can start the Elementalist afterwards. Both the Ranger+Warrior are already 80 so they should be simple to pickup where you left off. Just play a few Dungeons/WvW matches to refresh yourself on old mechanics.
I thought healing signet was nerfed too much to be really practical and healing surge/defiant stance was the norm instead, I can see how there’d be a DPS drop if the heal skill were activated though, granted.
And yeah, I’m often pugging fractals (usually only warrior running with probably a necro, a ranger, thief, and an engi who have about 15 AR in a level 30 fractal -.- ) so I’d take Battle Standard over the Signet.
But yeah, FGJ + a Banner (and yeah, situation stuff whatever) but I usually run endure pain instead since HB can be difficult to land against some of the bosses, EP gives a few seconds to face tank it and blow cooldowns.
I think maybe I just came at warrior from the wrong perspective, since I usually play guardian and it’s all about juggling invulnerability there.
Yeah, so last I had heard healing signet had been nerfed and only people who were bad used it, so I switched it out, which lost some of the justification for the trait to support it.
I did hear somewhere though that one of the signets is bugged in a good way?Anyhow, thanks for the justifications :p
Healing Signet got nerfed about ~8% if I remember correctly. After months of using it post patch it doesn’t feel that much different or maybe I’m just used to it. Either way it still offers the best HPS and is a great counter to most conditions+Agony. As for the Signet bug I think it was from Arms 2 (Deep Strike) which gave us a free “Signet of Might” buff. They fixed this a little while back though.
I’ve heard of some players using Defiant Stance which seems very situational. The active heal of 1.8k is miniscule and making full use of the 3sec absorption heal would require perfect timing. I could see it being useful for Champion soloing, but only if you can anticipate the heavy burst. Having a long 35 sec CD would make any condition damage a major problem and if you activate EP during DS it will negate the incoming damage and therefore the healing. I’ve only tried it a couple times so maybe I’m missing out on something.
“Effects that negate incoming damage, such as Endure Pain will prevent Defiant Stance from turning incoming strikes into healing.”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Defiant_Stance
Just curious on a couple of things, haven’t played in a while
Why did Restorative Strength get dropped from Strength 2 in favor of more vitality?
And what’s with the use of signets over utility now?
Its mainly since we never activate Healing Signet. The active heal is incredibly weak so its better to just never use it and maintain constant regeneration. I just find Great Fortitude to be to all around more useful if I’m not running Dual Wielding. You can bring Restorative Strength if you like, but imo its not a good tradeoff.
Healing Signet is pretty much mandatory. Since we lack the support/defensive skills of other classes we can’t sustain ourselves without regeneration in Berserker gear. Burst heals have too long a CD for how much damage we normally take in. You might be able to make use of Healing Surge if you are completely on top of your game or else your survivability will be greatly reduced.
Signet of Fury is optional. I just like it for the extra boost in precision and on demand adrenaline for extra bursts. I will typically change it out for another Banner/Shout in groups or Dolyak Signet if I need additional toughness. Take whatever you prefer in its place.
Since we have only 3 Elites we are mainly left to choose from Signet of Rage or Battle Standard. If I’m the only warrior i will typically bring Battle Standard, but due to its long CD I prefer Rage instead. I’ve never found Rampage to be of any use and Racial Elites are a joke.
I’m not sure what Warriors were like before, but they’ve become very passive. Alot of our skills and traits happen automatically or through normal gameplay without much player intervention. Because of this alot of players consider our class simplistic which is partly true. We still aren’t as “faceroll” as we are made out to be, its just due to our poor class design and mechanics that we are this way.
“Rune of the Scholar” has the highest dps for organized groups while “Rune of Strength” is better for PUGs and solo content. “Rune of Hoelbrak” is the budget alternative to Strength, which is more focused on PvP/WvW with the (-20% condition duration). You can make use of it in PvE, but it would probably be better to just stick with Scholars unless you were actually using a Might Stacking build.
Its not just limited to just warriors, but it would benefit Melee/Might stacking classes the most. Since you need to be struck to gain might Ranged/Light/Medium classes might have a harder time making the best use of it. Still (Power/Might Duration/-20% Condition Duration) is all around useful.
Like Belzebu said it only makes a difference in PvP/WvW where you become slightly harder to target and follow. Its not a big advantage and is more of a nuisance to whoever you are fighting. I just like the feeling that I’m moving faster with a small toon vs a large one. When I switched from playing a large Charr to a mini Asura I noticed jumping puzzles became alot easier. They take up way less screen space and allow you to better maneuver around tight corners. The only real issue I’ve had is the bad camera angle while stacking.

You can swap Scholar -> Strength runes if you prefer. Scholar is solely for PvE content and does better dps in organized groups while Strength is more useful in PUGs/solo content. If you are on a budget go with Scholars which is (~4g) while Strength is (~14g). With the “Phaylanx Strength” might stacking build you’d benefit more from (Strength/Hoelbrak) which has increased might duration. I haven’t tried it in Scholars, but I doubt it would work as well.
Don’t worry about survivability. You will be fine running a full berserker build as long as you dodge and pay attention to attack animations. Alot of enemies already deal massive damage that extra toughness/health will make no difference.
(edited by Highchu.3806)
While creating a time gated MF system would be neat it would mostly be benefiting players that play regularly and for a long period of time. It would make it difficult if not impossible for players that can’t get play very often and thats also assuming they stick around long enough.
If they are worried about players with already high MF they can just set a lower cap. Possibly provide 50% of our current MF to work on bags/chests with idk a 100%/150% cap. As more players reach max MF they can scale it up as necessary. Longtime players that earned max MF will feel rewarded while casual/infrequent players can still try their luck (no pun intended).
and the above point about Rangers and Necromancers being shunned because of their lack of “group utility” is complete and utter rubbish. Rangers can provide AOE healing, AOE boons and a variety of combo fields, some of which being the rarer ones, such as an Ice field, as well as a handful of the ever-popular Fire fields for AOE might stacking. (Ranger have more fire fields then Elementalist.)
“Necromancers have no group utility”. Because obviously, AOE Protection, huge AOE healing, permanent 25 stacks of Vulnerability and not dying in 1 hit like every other berserker warrior in the game is a lack of group utility.
Perhaps I worded it wrong, what I’m saying is that they simply aren’t as desirable as the others. Organized groups are always looking for (Warriors/Guardians/Mesmers/Elementalists) first to cover whatever their group needs. Each of them has something more concrete to provide and are typically considered first. Thats not to say Rangers/Necros are bad and as you stated above they do have good traits. While AoE fields and perma Vulnerability are nice, theres never a time when you need to take either profession to provide it. Other classes can provide many of the same utilities as well as others that they cannot. I think it also has to due with the negative stigma alot of players have about them.
From what I’ve seen the most common professions are (highest-lowest):
Warrior-Guardian-Mesmer-Ranger-Elementalist-Thief-Necromancer-Engineer
You will see a fair amount of Guardians, but no doubt there are way more Warriors around. They are a good support class, I’ve tried leveling one and personally found it kind of boring after playing a Warrior/Mesmer. In WvW every profession has its uses so if thats what you want to do just pick whichever interests you the most. Of all the ranged/caster professions Mesmers is probably the strongest. I hear WvW Elementalists and Thieves have good dps, but are complete glass cannons. Guardians have great survival skills and good dps. Not as high as a specialized melee user, but more well rounded than most. In my opinion more suited for supporting the group rather than roaming/dueling.
In PvE Necros and Rangers are shunned due to their lack of group utility. Not really sure what the opinion is on Engineers since I rarely ever see any. Elementalists+Guardians are always welcome in parties (limited numbers). 1-2 of each can be a big help with the Eles conjured weapons and the Guardian support for tough fights. Thieves have SF which can be helpful in certain instances, but a Mesmer would probably be better.
Whenever I want to sell some mats on the I will constantly get hit with “Error Attempting to Sell”. I’ve read in older threads that this feature was implemented to prevent botting which imo is a terrible countermeasure. If thats true it would only slow down bots which would just trying again while at the same punishing legitimate players just trying to play the game. I can never sell more than 1-2 stacks of any item before “Error Attempting to Sell” forcing me to constantly close and reopen the TP. Its been like this since I started playing 6 months ago and it seriously needs to change.
It uses the same ingame model as the “Copper Harvesting Sickle”. Not sure if its an actual weapon or not, but theres other weapons on TP that don’t seem like they should exist. Might be a bug or possibly items that are just rare/removed from the game.
They made some stealth changes to stacking sigils. Going underwater is now considered “unequiping” our ground set for our aquatic set. I think you can still keep your stacks if one of your aquatic weapons has Bloodlust as well.
“The bonus is lost when you are downed, when you travel to a different zone, or when you unequip the weapon.”
Hmm it all Megaserver so it should never be empty. Some are more populated than others and everyone is trying to join a Gold group. Check the LFG menu or see if an friends/guildmates have a populated server you can tag along on.
1. Greatsword is the most popular weapon choice. The burst damage is probably the highest, but If you prefer the dual wielding option Axe/Mace or Axe/Sword is just as viable. It just depends whether you trait for Greatsword (Slashing Power+Forceful Greatsword) or Dual Wielding (Dual Wielding/Axe Mastery/Dual Wield Agility). For dungeons you don’t really need to carry a Longbow since we excel at melee damage. Its good to carry one if you are still leveling though.
2. In group play you should always build towards group utility rather than personal dps. If you are the only warrior always bring “Empower Allies”. Theres also “Phalanx Strength” which is really good for might stacking if you have the trait and proper gear. If theres multiple warriors check to see whos using what and you can swap traits as needed.
3. I typically like to carry 2-3 myself whether I’m the only warrior in the group or not. Work it out with other to make sure you aren’t doubling up on anything. I just prefer to carry them myself as to not rely on others. Always bring (Disciple+Battle Standard) which are the most essential, you can bring Strength along as well if you want,.
4. The best Warrior banners are: (Disciple/Strength/Battle Standard) for the dps boost, the other two (Tactics/Defense) aren’t as necessary. Only bring them if you have pretty much a full warrior party. You still probably won’t need it though.
5. If you are just map clearing you don’t really need to focus on killing anything. Bring mobility (X/Warhorn) can be helpful for the swiftness boon. Also consider traiting into Discipline for “Warrior Sprint” 25% faster movement while carrying a melee weapon. It should help speed you along.
6. Not really sure what you mean by “Speedchain” are you talking about maximizing mobility or optimization?
7. Its a tank set which I’d only recommend using in WvW. Theres no need for extra surivability in PvE. Its pretty commonly used in Hammer builds so I’d say keep it if its Exotic. Don’t bother using Rares so if its rare just salvage it and get yourself Exotic if you want. I personally prefer Knights (TPP) if I want to go “tanky”.
8. Hammer is better for group fights, but it works fine for dueling. All warrior weapon skills cleave so its designed for groups. Its a slow weapon with obvisious attack animations, but If you are going for a CC build (Hammer > Mace/Shield) most of the time.
9. For PvE just carry group utility, go full Berserker, and stay in melee combat. If you try and play a tank you will do low dps and might get kicked. Our ranged damage is bad so only swap to a ranged weapon if you need to. I sometimes see warriors that run an entire dungeon using just Longbow and it slows everything down considerably.
