It also has the same problem s wire does, if your character is facing the enemy but your camera is not straight on sometime it won’t fire and goes on interupt cd. (4s i believe)
The only class that showed signs of bias is the Rev but that’s because he’s an “elite” class who’s part of the HoT package. Then he got a small nerf after the esl so there goes that assumption.

from some of the comments it seems like some of you guy’s thought this was a nerf thread, I didn’t mean it to be, being a daredevil i have 0 problems with any of these classes.
Saiyan you can have at most 3 stun breakers (most only roll 2 though), you are fighting a team of 5 player’s (obviously not at once), most professions have multiple CC, you see the problem You simply can not keep up anymore, CC has always been a weakness towards a thief (rightly so) They had more then enough pre patch, now it’s getting spammy. I’m thinking this is why so many thieves are stating “Buff Thief’s” I also have no clue how they can fix this at this point in time though. Most of these stunlock spec’s seemed to be designed for killing Passive professions.
My point was (but i fail at basic spelling and sentence structure) was it’s not the High Damage, but high damage plus CC., i’m all for Stunlock builds and high burst builds, but you have to spec for them, not have one with the other. (Thieves are just as bad with things like Panic strikes, Soh (daze) Immobilize stacking.
It’s not the profession, it’s the foolish amount of CC they added.

Would really like the elite skill “Impact Strike” to be a 2 hit combo instead of a 3 hit combo. Would make it so much more useful (depends on cast time of course) and fun to use (more flow).

Start Small,
Increase base Health By 1000-2000 (honestly they should do this with all low base hp classes at this point.)
This would give us more build diversity, since it would open up more rune/sigil choices.
Increase sword damage 7% to 10% (perhaps tack it on one of the sword traits in acro)

As for now, IF your opponent knows how d/p works they can easily kill them / prevent them from decaping. You had lot’s of way’s at launch, and now you have even more.

Fizz, That’s thief life. Most of these Gentlemen spamed “teef Op” threads for year’s The other’s just can’t take that fact they lost to someone who play’s joke builds. The fact is you need an insane amount of hours in this game just to be a “viable Pet”. And to be “Viable” (if your fooled into believing that) you need to run the most Passive spec a thief has.
Funny enough if they released Daredevil without giving any other professions any elite, most of the problems with thiefs would disapper, you would probably have to tone down other professions passiveness still but as far as sustain/C.removal/damage most of it would be par. sadly it does not account for the new elites (or what it looks like from the outside so far) All we can do is hope it’s not as bad as now though.

Look go roll Cs/DA/Tr with s/d pick every burst/damage trait. Then go find a ranger.
On a pure glass build you will crit them for 600 damage, with 20 stacks of might (s.Trap, Signet, you will crit them for 1500-2000,) Now factor in the Healing, and regin, and passives on that ranger.

You leave far alone if there is a set defender camping it. If someone is in between as someone suggested u can try a decap and run : forcing that defender to sit and recap it while you go back to help mid or +1 another fight.
Unless that defender is a fast win for you in 1v1.
You won’t decap it, again i said decent opponent’s,what will happen is you will pull them to the point and break to another point, this leaves you starved of initiative. Or you blown your shadow step, either way your easy enough to pick off.

First don’t listen to people who have know clue how the thief class works, As in fact s/d is suppose to be a bruiser spec, which play’s more like a warrior then say an assassin, what is common sense? it ain’t common anymore that’s for sure.

If the enemy team know’s Basic rotations, and can win in the team fight, thief’s are useless, they can’t rotate far to backcap (by the time the defender is down, he will have reinforcments,) you can’t team fight for you will die in a blaze of Aoe, and your Task of +1 can be filled by other professions easier. As for mobility well that’s easy to beat, most people have been fooled into believe fighting off point is “Bad” when in reality all you have to do to defeat thiefs mobility is stand half way between points , this will give them more then enough time to prevent a decap and/or provide help.
Steath rezing is instant death if you are fighting player’s with a half a brain

Thief’s are not viable, they give the apperance that they are through +1’ing and Backcaps, but let’s face it, our plus 1 role is entirely possible due to are offensive passives, you take away Vamp/ Soh, Shadow arts, Panic strikes, i can guarantee you your imaginary role of plus 1 will vanish.
As for backcapping, If your team can not win the 4vs4 at mid, they will not pull there home defender away, Which mean’s the thief will have to 1vs1 at far, If the defender know’s what he’s doing he can easily delay you to get reinforcements.
Finally, The only redeeming feature this game had was it’s combat mechanics, most people will agree with that statement. Sadly, arena net decided to remove that feature from the thieves to do list.

Not with the way the have vault set up mechanically. You might have the height to clear a wall but due to there mechanics you end up hitting blank air and falling. It is extremly annoying. i meant to take a video of it but i forgot…

It relys on B/v Soh, Panic strikes, vamp, shadow arts. you are not a thief if you use that —-- you are an AI bot being carried.
you do realize d/p was designed to be the thief’s “Starter” weapon right… that is the main reason it hasn’t been nerfed as much as every other set.
Thieves are a lootbag, you simply need to know how they mechanically funtion to make it so. you can live in denial if you would like but that does not make it true.

If you add more Passives you will go Esports, for sure!! that’s what esports is all about right? well maybe not, you might need more blinding visual effects, and more f2p style pop up loot! (only whites and grays though people don’t like to be rewarded for there work)
Also please continue to add spam conditions! The amount was never the problem but Why stop now!!! where almost at the “Best it’s ever been point” of balance! perhaps adding torment/preplexity ect we can raise it to Wvw levels! look at the wonders it did for small scale roaming there.
And that wonderful downstate!! well used to be wonderful. with all the recent damage buff’s It’s almost on par to where it should be. That’s not good at all… How are we suppose to see Esports team A 3 cap Esports team 2 if they can’t instant rez. and rally the rest of the Team!!! clearly needs work.
Also the Heart of the mist is far to big!, no one want’s to watch someone jump around for 20 mins, no! we need to jam him into a small room for an hour! that is sure to attract viewers!

You should be posting this on the main thread. IF all the info is complied at one place it will be much quicker for the dev’s to read through it all.

It Needs some work, I’m going to bullet point most of this. keep in mind this is only from one day of testing.
Day 1:
-Staff animation are far to slow, The staff should have the same IAS as sword, A staff is much quicker to wield then a greatsword, it seems to me the ias is about the same as a GS atm.
- Like other’s have mention there is no fluidity with the dodge rolls. The stop before and after kills it.
Arcobatics Changes:
-Removed Expedious dodgers from Acrobatics, add baseline to “Dash”, (brings it to 10seconds) Make this spot a +5-10% modifier for acrobatics (That’s your main problem with acro line)
-Add Staff to Swindler’s Equilibrium.
- Bound, Increase radius of Aoe a tad bit, Eventally you will have to dodge roll away from the enemy. we are squishy thiefs after all. maybe set it at 200-250, since the roll is 350 you can still miss but not as much.
-Wpn skills
— Staff 5: Vault: Great skill but, Increase height jumped, the height should be the same as the walls at mid point in legacy of the foefire. this will help Rotations on that map, though it would still be slower then SB. (Offhand diversity)
- Staff 2: weakening charge, Needs a range increase. Every thief uses sb for movement, to get some diversity into the mix the staff should have a longer gap closer. Needs targeting.
Staff 3: Debilitating arc: It’s decent, if you increase staff 2, this should also be increased.
(good job on the 50 less range, it add’s synergy)
Staff 4: It’kitten and miss
Staff 1 + stealth: IF you are going to keep the damage that low (which is a good idea) you should add boon hate to this. like the old larc strike maybe make this steal 2-3 boons on hit. this will help us thin out those pesky ele’s. and give us a bit more sustain.
There is not much of an increase in sustainability. the only way i figured was Every + healing trait, Caltrops, caltrops on dodge, and Som. You could do this before so there is no change.
Utilities:
Bandits defense: This is a gem. It does have problems though. The animation is to slow, so if you pop this, a warrior hits you with 100 blades, you will be dead by the time your kick reaches them.
Fist Fury: The first attack should auto aim, (Just the first attack) The damage is a bit lack luster considering you are leaving yourself exposed.
Distracting daggers: Cast time is a bit to long, The dagger’s should last a bit longer, it’s good with s/p or d/p to chain interupts (a kitteneesy though)
Impairing daggers:
Ulti< Impact Strike:
Great skill, fluid doesn’t really need anything done to it.

Supreme the reason most people don’t suggest a balance idea is rather simple. by the time arena net add’s it to the dev client, tests and reiterates, the proposed change is already obsolete.
