This was originally why Anet added numbers to our account names so we could all have the in-game names we wanted. Why they stayed with the same old mmo problem I don’t know.
If adding numbers or extra characters was what he wanted, I really don’t think he would have any trouble getting a name. Adding numbers does not solve that same old mmo problem at all xD
I believe he means that our account names had (and have) numbers. e.g. the .6297 at the end of yours.
I’m not completely sure, and I probably wasn’t there at the time, but i’m assuming there was a period where you could name your character whatever you want, since you have a seperate “account name” as well that is unique and used for getting added as a friend and such, while still having whatever name you want. it’s a neat idea, in my opinion.
I feel like the effort that would have to be put into this isn’t something they’d want to do… and even if they did, I don’t see how they’d be able to reclass to different armor classes and such.
But what do I know, I don’t develop for Anet. perhaps after they’ve finished the xpac they could introduce it.
For the millionth time, they started design on this expansion as soon as or very soon after(if not maybe slightly before) GW2 was released in August 2 and half years ago, so the expansion itself has been in development for 2+ years.
Source?
Because I doubt very, very much that’s true.
Considering how what we will get doesn’t appear to be more than Living World Season 3 with a few extras, and how ArenaNet claimed they won’t manage to even release more than a “handful” of legendaries, if that’s the best they can do after 30 months, I would be extremely disappointed.
I don’t have any source, but I do remember hearing that the expansion had been planned for a very long time. whether it’s actually been in development or not idk, but you have to remember all the temporary content in the form of living world season 1. that was basically an expansions worth of work, at the least.
(it may have been the angryjoe interview with colin? i can’t specifically remember)
Can we get to be dwarves in the future?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: ITheNormalPerson.9275
Dwarves could be part of the story if/when we have to fight primordus… as to them becoming a common or playable race.. i’ll let that to a-net
just small peeks at areas that are insignificant or insubstantial (like WvW maps).
i’d just like to point out that while insignificant/insubstantial to you, it doesn’t mean it is for everyone. specializations and wvw are literally 90% of my hype for the new expansion. I could absolutely care less if there are no new dungeons however, for example.
Also, directed to where this thread is heading… is it really worth complaining about how subpar an expansion is going to be, before it even comes out? maybe i’m just an optimist, but i’m going to wait until it releases, or we get a lot of information on it before making my judgements. and to be honest, most of the information they HAVE released, excites me greatly
and while i would personally love to get all the information immediately… i’m not going to judge them for not doing it. I’m not a market specialist, I don’t know anything about building hype for the masses, so I don’t know what decisions they’re making either.
(edited by ITheNormalPerson.9275)
we are supposed to be adults.
just like to point out that gw2 is rated T last i checked, which means not everyone is an adult playing the game. they can be as low as 13 (and obviously not everyone follows the ESRB so there’s probably people under that playing too)
That being said, while i personally wouldn’t get offended by it, there are thousands of people playing the game, and i’m not every single one of them, nor do i think every single one of them should get offended at exactly the same things as me.
also, is changing your name really that bad? i would be slightly ruffled if i had to change my name, but only because i use the same 2 names through 90% of the games i play. but it’d be more of an “oh darn. well i guess that sucks. carries on with day” kind of thing, rather than the “make an upset forum post” kind of ruffled
I’m not a fan of it really, but if they add other gods too, i’d be interested in the melandru armor.
and as others have said, i’d much prefer it as actual armor instead of and outfit. Personally no matter how cool it was, i couldn’t live without the ability to mix-n-match :/
Let’s say you only key-bind the keys that are necessary for combat, that’s
4 —- F1-F4
1 —- Weapon swap
10 —- Skills 1-0
4 —- Movement
1 —- Jumping
1 —- Dodging
1 —- Interacting/Looting
3 —- Target closest, next and pinged target
1 —- Look behind (useful in WvW and PvP)
1 —- Ping target as primary target
4 —- camera-control
1 —- place ground-targeted skills
1 —- open inventory for consumables or alternate weapons
33 —- totalAnd up to this day noone explained to me how to chat with a gamepad. How do you explain a random what he has to do in a dungeon if you realise that he has no clue? Someone explain this to me pls, since I’ve never owned a controller myself.
not all of those are “required” for combat. this may be somewhat of a stereotype, but imo, someone using a controller in a pc mmo is probably a casual gamer that might not even pvp, with that in mind
f1-f4 – 4 (less depending on class. but for the sake of inclusion i’ll leave it at 4)
weapon skills/utilities – 10
movement – 4
camera – 4
dodge – 1
maybe a button for ground targetting – 1
jumping, though not really needed in combat, is nice for exploring so i’ll include it – 1
weapon swap – 1
that’s really all you need as a casual gamer. 26 buttons, though 8 of them will be on the sticks, so in reality, it would be 18. more than possible if you’re using a controller on PC.
as for the rest of it, it’s not really that hard to also have a keyboard nearby as well. just because you use a controller doesn’t mean you have to unplug your keyboard and toss it in a corner.
I’ve seen people play tera with a controller, and it seemed to work really well, so i’d think it would be more than possible to use a controller in gw2 with support (i mean geez there’s some people out there that play with controllers now!)
while i don’t use a controller, i have no qualms with them adding support to the game for people that do.

-Jack of all trades. can fit most roles decently
-Lot’s of “evades” and such that can make you feel like you’re dancing around opponents
-err.. having a pet is probably a bullet point i guess.
-Isn’t very popular, due to them being a “jack-of-all-trades”, other classes can generally do most things better than them if their class focuses on it, therefore in most situations you run into, you might go “while i ‘can’ do this decently on my ranger, i could do it even better if I switched to X class”
-The pet is a pain to deal with.
-one last thing, this might change in the future, but currently rangers seem to be VERY hated, because of recent buffs
Looking at the roaming build, is it really worth using 2 traits on a single utility?
Also for roaming, in my opinion at least, RTW and Eagle Eye are nearly mandatory longbow traits to take.
Eagle eye for engaging enemies from further away. distance and positioning is vital in roaming. Also a 5% DPS boost
RTW so you can actually land hits from far away. also a 10% attack speed boost
so it’s basically 15% dps boost in longbow, and you get better engage and positioning options, which you’re giving up on :/
just doesn’t seem like it would ever not be worth the investment in a 1v1 power build
It really depends on how it’s implemented. if it’s going to be exactly/very similar to the current luminescent armor set collection, I will be kind of sad because that collection felt very boring and grindy to me
However, I feel there are plenty of ways of doing it without a huge grind. We’ll just have to wait and see exactly what direction they want to go with it
Also, Jussayin, even though i’m against it being a grind, I would be sad if you could get a precursor without a decent time investment. It’s something that “should” take time. just not the way it is now, where the time is spent grinding gold and such.
Fix/Improve pets a lot, or an alternative to pets. Currently having ~30% of our dps assigned to a mandatory pet AI is just… not a good idea. especially with how bad the AI is.
Moving our primary damage away from just autoattacks (on certain weapons cough).
more utility/support options so we’re more viable in a team setting, and do more than spam autoattacks and selfish utilities and skills.
something that… defines our class better. the current problem is that in any situation, while a ranger can perform okay in most of them, another class simply performs better. If there were something useful to a team, that rangers were the best at, that would help.
this is coming from a wvw/pvp perspective. i’ve always been too lazy to actually try in pve ;P
Granted, in my opinion, this far into the game… no matter what changes are given to rangers, I think they’ll always be seen with a negative stigma. either the class is horrible, or the people playing the class is horrible, in some peoples eyes.

Crystal Desert WvW Roamer – [Maid]
80 Ranger(main)/Guard/Elementalist – Proud Owner of KudzuHmm…I don’t believe I’ve run into your Ranger this week during our match up.
sorta offtopic, but i haven’t been playing much lately due to IRL issues.
You do realize that the name “Ranger” does not imply usage of ranged weapons right? It just so happens that the Ranger archetype often overlaps the Archer archetype in many games.
i’d just like to point out that, whilst in the real world, this is true, it’s fairly obvious that ranger was intended to be a master of range, or at least a master of bows.
quoted from anet themselves
“Unparalleled archers, rangers are capable of bringing down foes from a distance with their bows. .”
that being said, i’m happy with the damage on our longbow, along with the range associated with it. what we need is more focus on the other things. team support, utility, etc.
Personally, I find the upright charr to… put bluntly, look extremely silly.
that being said, if it was an optional thing, and my charr could still look the way it is now, i’d be okay with it.
Idea: what if there were an item, that when bought, enables your account/character for dueling? expensive enough so people who want to avoid it wouldn’t buy it just for the sake of it, but cheap enough that it isn’t a huge gold-sink. perhaps a one-time investment of 20-50g.
It could also possibly have some sort of marker above your name, similar to the map completion marker, that shows you have also bought this item and are able to duel. If needed, it could only be visible to other people who also have bought this item and used it.
Now, with this, it would prevent most types of “duel spamming”, since if you don’t want to duel, you just don’t buy the item. sure, someone “could” annoy you trying to get you to buy it, but I feel it would barely increase the amount of duel requests we currently get, if at all (and yes, i have had someone request to duel me in sPvP, albeit he/she did it very politely, and we were friends at that point) I feel if it had a large enough gold/time cost allotted to it, then those “duel-rage induced crazy people!” will realize that their efforts to get non-duelers to duel are going no-where.
If also required, this could be limited to only certain zones, maybe. perhaps when starting a duel, a decent-sized ring appears(maybe only visible to players who have enabled it), and if there is another player in it (perhaps only players without this item) you cannot initiate the duel. and once a duel starts, perhaps those players could be “removed” from the upscaling algorithm (or maybe can’t attack/be attacked by mobs at all, if this is abusable)
With the megaserver, there could also be a preference to toss “duelers” into instances with other duelers, and non-duelers in with other non-duelers (I know, megaserver sucks, etc. etc. It would be a small improvement though.)
P.s.
“We get attacked. We get killed. We then get laughed at and instructed “if you’re not here to fight, then don’t come to WvW!” Again – this is direct personal experience, not an anecdote I heard from a friend of a friend.”
you’re basically justifying “if you’re not here to fight, then don’t come to WvW!”, by saying “if you’re not here to fight npcs, then don’t come to PvE!” Jussayin’.
P.P.S
As a reminder, I’m posting as someone who would rarely, if ever, use open world dueling. I’m not exactly even in support of this suggestion. I just don’t see why people are so against it (or well, I find the reasons unfounded)
-snip-
While i’m not necessarily disagreeing with your argument as a whole, a few things
to your first point, as people above have said, dueling already somewhat exists in the game, and in the 2 years i’ve played, only once have i had someone rage at me and demand to duel me. Just because you believe people would demand dueling if it were added doesn’t necessarily mean people will.
to the second point… i’m not exactly sure how that’s an argument against dueling? It’s like saying since i’m bad at dungeons, so i don’t want them to add more dungeons to the game.
for the third point, as i said, dueling already somewhat exists in the game currently. and people “already” complain about how awful the meta and builds are and all that jazz. I doubt adding dueling would increase the complaints much (and personally, i think the amount of builds in pvp and even specifically dueling is far more diverse than pve.)
the fourth point seems like more of a personal attack rather than a counter-argument, so no comment.
no comment to the fifth point either.
Most of the people in this thread against arguments seem to think that it would both interfere with your average PvE activities, and they would get spammed with duel requests or vulgarities.
as for the “interfering with PvE activities” i can’t say for sure, but to be perfectly honest, a majority of pve maps are already sort of dead most of the time anyways. and for the most part, i think duelists would want to avoid involving their duels in PvE activities just as much as you guys want to avoid PvP activities.
and the whole “spamming duel requests/screaming vulgarities” i also can’t say for sure, but neither can any of you. we don’t “know” if dueling would increase or decrease that sort of interaction. GW2 has been known for having a “good” community (at least by MMO standards), and GW2 is also quite different from your average MMO. it would be hard, or near impossible, to tell what effects this would have on the game, as an average player. simply saying “dueling will make people jerks!” is very much a slippery slope fallacy.
Again, I’m not specifically for OR against dueling. but personally, I still fail to see how it would harm the game.
i’m not sure if you’re joking or being serious? honest question here.
a majority of the vistas are already fairly easy to get, assuming you’re the appropriate level for that area. personally i enjoy the ones that adopt a “mini-jumping-puzzle” style. I guess not everyone would agree though. it’s up to personal preference i suppose.
That said, there are so many vistas that to change them all to make them easier to obtain would take so much work it’s not really worth doing, in my opinion.
What i’m curious, aimed towards the people who don’t want it, is “why” you don’t want it? in what way would it negatively affect the game if it were added?
Like, personally, i probably wouldn’t use the feature and i think it’s a bit silly. but i don’t know why i “wouldn’t” want it added.
(And to be honest, i don’t think it’d take “that” much work to implement. I believe they actually enabled open-world pvp for woodenpotatoes? i’m not sure, i’ve just heard that from others)
(edited by ITheNormalPerson.9275)
A Ranger that knows how to play is a very very dangerous thing so keep coming for me I want you to. Ignorance is bliss.
I will call your bluff..Every Ranger i seen had died in 15 seconds or less. Not to mention how many i have taken out in the mist..Ranger are no good for pvp period…Just swallow your pride i probably had killed you in the mist as well..
while i’m not disagree-ing nor agreeing with you, 15 seconds is either a hyperbole or plain false. while it is rare nowadays, the condi-regen build can last a decent amount of time in 1v1’s with very little effort (not to say it doesn’t take skill).
and if you’ve played pvp for more than a week, chances are you’ve ran into a couple of these builds.
Not to mention there’s a ranger in the competitive field (i believe. i’ve never actually kept up with it)
even glassbow rangers can last a long time if you play defensively and know what you’re doing
edit: for the sake of contributing something to the topic, I think the fact that the same people who complain about all rangers being bad (and that they kill rangers “all the time” )are generally the same people that cry for ranger nerfs. that speaks for itself, imo.
(edited by ITheNormalPerson.9275)
said it before, will say it again.
while i wouldn’t use this feature much, i see no reason why it shouldn’t be added at some point. I would say it should be put on the backburner of things to do, but then again they added first person camera already, and this is just as important as that imo.
I’m hoping the staff will be a mix of CC and team-buffs, sort of like the guardian staff.
i would also be happy with something similar to necro staff, with lots of AoE’s
as for traits, idk. i’m just hoping lb/staff will be a viable option. (or at least a POSSIBLE option. i doubt it wouldn’t be.. but you never know)
How I think specializations will unlock
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: ITheNormalPerson.9275
my bet is for it to be part of the mastery track. e.g. work on the “druid mastery” and once you do that, you unlock the druid specialization for your account
It’s a fair assumption considering WoW is one of the largest MMOs in the market and this is an MMO game.
I didn’t know what it was, and i’m fairly sure my 3 irl friends that play gw2 would not know what it was, based on none of us ever playing wow (in fact one of them has never played an mmo outside of gw2 for longer than a few hours)
that being said… I disagree with this suggestion. it just doesn’t sound like it would benefit the game in any way (perhaps if you provided examples of where it would benefit the game it would change my opinion)
Longbow damage, or base pet damage
longbow because obviously, it’s damage is in a good spot right now (though perhaps we need to spread out the damage a bit. e.g. a 5-10% nerf to autoattack, but 100% buff to the damage of #4, if they’re close to you (sort of a reverse of autoattack)
base pet damage because i don’t want pets to become a “required” part of your build. it would just spell nerfs for other things. buffing the damage if you trait into beastermastery though, i can get behind.
based on them giving us drytop and silverwastes for free (in what seems like was a “test” for features in the xpac) i think it’s safe to assume we’re going to get a lot more than just this map split into 3 sections. (i’d say a LOT larger than just this map)
Maybe i’m just an optimist though
I say to this, dont get your hopes up. Until they say or show something that suggests more, i wouldnt expect much more. May only get this one map, with 3 levels. I mean, all they have really talked about is the 3 level map.
perhaps, but i’d rather be optimistic and looking forward to it now and go “oh darn, i guess it wasn’t ‘that’ great” rather than be mopey and depressing like half the people on the forums right now complaining about the lack of stuff in the xpac before we even get much information on it.
and personally, i’m not a big pve-er anyways. even if they give us 1 new map, 1 new pvp gamemode, 1 new wvw map, specializations, and masteries, i would be more than okay spending $40 on it (not saying that’s going to be the price. just a rough estimate). I’d pay $15-20 simply for specializations, depending on how cool they’ll be.

Haven’t heard anything about them being instanced.
https://youtu.be/sG5oUKqbIVM?t=961
as I said, I wouldn’t say it’s confirmed, but it seems like the direction they want to go (if that link doesn’t link the time properly, it’s at about 16:00)
if they don’t instance it i’m not exactly sure how they’ll do leaderboards, since mesmer portals and such are a thing. it just seems like the most simple way to have a good leaderboard system, even if instancing it “does” kind of break the immersion
(edited by ITheNormalPerson.9275)
From what i understood from the angryjoe interview, when HoT rolls out, jumping puzzles will turn into instanced activities (like the adventure/quest system) with their own leaderboards and better prizes the faster you complete it.
given that it’s instanced, it’d probably be safe to say that they could disable gliders while inside it.
and even if it has an un-instanced version, i wouldn’t be surprised if they have the ability to simply disable gliders while you’re in that area. (and this leaves open the possibility for jumping puzzles utilizing the glider too!)
it would be interesting to see. maybe not as a permanent thing, but occasionally having an all out war of some sort would be fun
also personally i think the charr would definitely be the winner. if anything, they could hide in their black citadel and i don’t think anyone could take it (know why the charr 1-15 zone is the only one without a world boss? because the cannons on the black citadel would blow it to pieces)
and that’s coming from a sylvari. our only option would be to tag team with mordremoth ;P or maybe get some friends from some other races, e.g. quaggans
The Break-bar, or how to commit to mechanics
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: ITheNormalPerson.9275
I think it would be cool if they expanded more on the mechanic when the wyvern flew into the air and got CC’ed back down. where the defiance bar is there working as it does, but if you manage to get it down, something unique would happen rather than just a simple fear/knockback/stun etc. e.g., you burn the defiance bar on a giant type of boss, and it comes crashing down for a good ~5 seconds and becomes more vulnerable to damage, or an enemy starts charging up a MASSIVE attack and if you don’t CC it, it’ll really hurt the team
more tell-signs(not changing channeling time/damage/effects/etc., just the visual representation of the skill) on longbow #3 and #4 so opponents can tell which attack they are using a bit better.
not sure if this would be considered a nerf, but i’d like to see it added tbh
i don’t think you understand what “exciting” and “fun” means. maybe i’m the odd one but a statistical nerf isn’t very interesting to me.
that said, I don’t think they need a nerf. they don’t seem too overly powerful to me. the only problem i have with them is their ability to disengage and come back with full health, but i suppose that’s just part of the class design, to really annoy other people :P
Sylvari, fo sho. not sure what class, it all depends on how the game rules apply to “real life” as it were… and i’d probably be one of those people in the grove that hangs around. not sure what i’d do to pass the time, but i know for sure that the fighting life isn’t the life for me.
This ship sailed before launch. It would mean scrapping the 3 armor weights and making a 4th armor weight and then reworking and changing the char’s stats in the hero panel to keep them heavy, medium or light, then remaking the hundreds of armor pieces to this 4th new armor weight. Or it would mean going over the hundreds of pieces of armor and making 2 more versions of each and every one.
Look in your wardrobe. Count all the pieces of armor to see the number of pieces that would need to be reworked for the first way then multiple by 2 to get the number of pieces for the second way of doing it.
Not going to happen.
instead of adding it, equipment wise, they could just add it as a wardrobe/skin thing. e.g. salvaging a light robe, will give you a light/medium/heavy version of the skin. I’m sure most people would be more than happy with that choice and it wouldn’t be that hard to do, afaik, since adding a skin doesn’t seem like it would be “that” hard, when you already have the meshes and textures
the only problem i see with it is severe clipping, but to me personally, that’s not a big deal and i’d be more than happy for more customization choices (everything clips with my lb/gs anyways)
SoS i don’t really have a huge problem with because most classes generally have some form of block/stealth/etc, that they could use, or their own invulnerability. but at the same time i don’t really care that much because i don’t even use it on my build (even in it’s current state, there’s other skills i’d prefer over it. e.g. muddy terrain is basically a 2 1/2 second invulnerability if you can get behind them (unless they waste something condi clearing) and also allows you to get more range on them.
as for the longbow, i feel the current problem isn’t that it’s too strong, it’s that it lacks a skill investment to learn well. currently it’s fairly easy to use it effectively, the only things you could really screw up are hunters shot and using barrage poorly. right now, spamming #1 and pressing #2 when it’s off cooldown is basically the ranged variant of a warrior. high skill floor, low skill ceiling.
what i’d like to see is a rework of skills, so it has more utility and it’s damage is more spread out along the other skills so #1 isn’t your primary source of dps. I’d like to see it be harder to use, but the payoff is better if you take the time to learn it
longbow and greatsword are fun if you liked seeing big numbers
axe is cool if you like seeing lots of numbers
sword is good if you like to dance all around your target (though the rooting might make it seem more clunky than other weapons tbh. more of a personal preference imo)
I prefer survival, but i’m not a huge fan of condi builds. I’d think trapper would be a bit better with condi in mind, but i could be wrong
as said, longbow/axe&wh is a weird choice, but if you really want to use it, you could probably make it work (though if you wanted to be at your best, i’d suggest sword/warhorn for buffing allies or greatsword for dps) also i’m not completely sure, but i think the low duration might stacks (from the axe AA) might overwrite the long-duration ele might stacks in dungeons and things, which in the long run would probably lower the amount of might you get in dungeons and stuff (at least something like that happens with guardian empower)
I assume that you’re considering every gamemode and not just a specific gamemode? (i’m giving advice with that in mind)
#.1: Zerker would be your primary choice imo, and depending on how survivable you want to get (which you’d want to be in wvw) i’d supplement it with soldiers or knights. currently i use soldiers armor with zerker trinkets and i still do good damage but have the tankiness to survive a surprise attack from a thief for example.
#.2: Personally I use Runes of the Defender in wvw/pve, and Runes of lyssa in PvP, but they aren’t really the “meta” choice.
personally in wvw/pve, i’d take runes of the ranger for dps, or runes of the defender if you want to be more survivable. in PvP i’m not completely sure, i just prefer lyssa because of the insane condi clear I get.
#.3 Force, Air, Fire, Accuracy, Energy, or even Peril for your longbow, are all good choices IMO
#.4 I may be a bit biased from my days in wvw when 99% of players used condi builds, but I can’t play anymore without using survival skills. when mixed with survival of the fittest, they’re just sooo good imo. I also prefer healing spring over troll unguent for the group support and for leaping through it for extra heals. I also like both entangle and rampage as one. I prefer RaO in pve for might and such, and entangle in pvp
#.5 personally I like 6/0/2/6/0, for dealing damage while still being tanky and having awesome condi clear.
#.6 in PvP you absolutely need to use the wolf for one of your slots, imo. the F2 and knockdown sets it as the best pet in the game, imo. the other one is up to preference. another canine for more CC, a bird for dps, a bear for tanking, a feline for a bit more support, etc. etc. it’s easy to figure out what the pets do.
Note that I’m somewhat of a theory crafter so most of my advice isn’t really meta. If you want the meta choices, you could just go to metabattle and look there haha.
P.s. this is my build, if you’re curious
I’ve spent a good 2 years tinkering with lb/gs, making it my own, and i’m pretty happy with it at this point. I do swap out a few things though
entangle -> rampage as one, for PvE
runes of the defender -> runes of lyssa, for pvp
signet of the hunty -> muddy terrain, for pvp
eagle eye -> piercing arrows, for WvW zergs
hope i helped! also if you have questions or w/e feel free to add me in game and whisper me when i’m online/mail me, i’m more than happy to answer questions and stuff, no matter how silly they are (though i don’t play as much as i used to, i try to log on at least once a day)
(edited by ITheNormalPerson.9275)
from what i’ve experienced from the flame legion fractal, i actually like the longbow animations. I also REALLY like the greatsword animations (more than my sylvari rangers greatsword animation)
They have said that every specialization will change the class mechanic, or at the very least, change the way it works.
I’m hoping the add more control over pets. their excuse in the past has been that it would be “too confusing for new players” however as far as it seems, specializations is something you do later in the game (probably level 80).
it would make all GW2 players happy everyone loved that.
except for the vets who are special snowflakes that “earnt” their skins by owning the game at a certain time and NO YOU GUYS CANT HAVE IT BECAUSE I WAS HERE FIRST.
they seem to want to add the living world season 1 back to the game, but due to it all being open-world and having lasting impacts, it’s difficult for them to do it. and since the xpac is coming out soon, it’s on the backburner of things to do (this is what it sounded like from AngryJoes interview)
[WvW] Why are you removing content?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: ITheNormalPerson.9275
what would you have them do then? have 7 wvw maps at one time, spreading out the already small wvw playerbase even thinner?
For passive mode this is how it works now.
If you target something and press auto attack(whether you actually hit your target or not), your pet attacks your target.
If you hit something not targeted(aoe, cleave), your pet doesn’t attack it.
If something hits you and you don’t hit them back while targeted, your pet doesn’t attack it.
Passive pet auto-attack isn’t random at all and seems like a good QoL change at least for me (no need to hit F1 for pet to start attacking your target when in passive mode).
i sincerely hope it isn’t a “QoL change”. it removes basically half the control i have over my pets in sPvP (currently i can control both the knockdown and their F2)
I like the ability to have it not attack until i press F1, that’s the reason i put it on passive in the first place. now i need to spam F3 during fights or else he keeps running off and wasting the CD on his knockdown. it’s like if one of the guardian virtues just randomly went off if you autoattacked too much.
I’ve been playing around in Caledon Forest since the patch, just screwing around with camera settings and such, and then i noticed; my pet is attacking things, when I have it set to passive and I’m not hitting F1-F4
Is this a bug? I haven’t gone into pvp yet but if it happens in pvp too that would really suck because the wolf knockdown on it’s first attack is very useful, when you can control it.
P.S. i’ve tried toggling it from agressive and back and it still does it randomly.
P.P.S. I love the new stability change!
Weapon swapping: level 15 (not level 10) was level 7 before the NPE
Also, you can bypass this by going into the heart of the mists and equipping 2 seperate weapons (and you can bypass the level 22 for pvp by going to the mists portal in LA)
Personally, while i wasn’t huge on “heart events”, in my opinion, they are leaaagues better than quest systems in other games.
Put bluntly, if you didn’t like the game before, you won’t like it now. Not that it got worse (imo it’s improved) but at it’s heart, it’s still the same game.
I got Leaf of Kudzu within a month, so I’d say at least 700g.
If you pick sylvari, their vine immobilize utility skill looks somewhat similar to entangle and you can trick people into blowing their stunbreaks to get out of a fake entangle :P
but seriously, race doesn’t really matter. pick the one you like
As others have pointed out, AP means NOTHING except maybe how long you’ve played the game (which has NOTHING to do with your skill level, or knowledge of the game). I have nearly 6k AP and i literally just started running dungeons (aside from doing TA a few times for my legendary)
Why don’t you just, I don’t know, say “anyone new to the dungeon” before you start? I run with people with <1K ap all the time and do perfectly fine because I always explain each part of the dungeon before-hand
