Just to avoid more confusion, the last Stress Test was at 2:00pm PDT, and tomorrow’s is at 10:00am PDT, so you moved it up by 4 hours, rather than by 2 hours. And I believe 10am PDT is 6pm BST. I’d hate to see posts from those that missed the Stress Test because of a miscommunication about the time.

It has already been stated (by ArenaNet) that it will not be necessary to own Path of Fire to acquire the upcoming Gen2 Legendaries. Thus, no different ‘Gifts’.

The WvW players who argue that they have to do PvE when crafting legendary weapons, and therefore, the way of obtaining the Gift of Battle is just fair, forget that PvP and PvE are not equal game modes that stand next to each other.

PvP is an addition to PvE. Basically every player starts in PvE, and then, if he likes, he can do PvP (I mean WvW here, but it’s player vs. player). Very few players start playing an MMO game immediately in PvP, and stay there all of the time. In a Venn diagram, the circle that represents PvP players would be in a bigger circle of PvE players and only a tiny area of it outside of the PvE circle.

Most WvW players have no problem playing PvE, and GW2 is mainly a PvE game. Sorry, but those game modes are not equal. Just because you have to do PvE to get a legendary weapon, it doesn’t mean it’s fair for PvE players to have to do PvP. There are lots of players who hate PvP, and will not participate. It’s usually the most toxic environment of games. At least you cannot exchange messages with players from other servers, but the map chat is enough to get the picture.

I’ve played PvP in the games I played before I started GW2, starting 17 years ago with Unreal Tournament and Quake (at that time, not every other player met your mom). I have no problem doing PvP in GW2, I just find WvW boring, just as you guys find PvE boring. But I respect that many people have good reasons to stay far away from PvP, and they will not be able to get a legendary weapon. Not because they are not willing to put the work or grind in, other parts of the legendary journey require that, but simply because for them, it’s not just “play a bit PvP”, it means getting ganked in a toxic environment where the locals don’t even want them in their game.

It would be the best for every party, WvW and PvE players to remove that item from the quest or make it available through other means. As far as I can tell, WvW players are not happy with PvE players filling server spots and having no clue what to do. You say just kill dolyaks or capture camps that are protected by NPCs. If half of the server population did that, how would you fill your blob? Best thing for a WvW server would be if only dedicated WvW players filled the available spots, not noobs like me who show up with a Berserker Daredevil using double pistol and PvE traits.

Except, as stated countless times, there are methods of obtaining the Gift of Battle without ever stepping foot in WvW. It’s merely a matter of time.

Because the Gem Store doesn’t allow account to purchase items that can’t possibly use. Which is a good thing. Unfortunately, it can’t, at this time, differentiate between account purchases and gifts.

At this time, the only option would be a Gem Card.

Living World Season 1 Episodes – free to those logging in while live.

Living World Season 2 Episodes – free to those logging in while live. Offered for 200 Gems each after they are live, or in a bundle at a 20% discount after the season is over.

Living World Season 3 Episodes – free to those logging in while live, banked for those who do not own HoT who log in while live. Offered for 200 Gems each after they are live, or in a bundle at a 20% discount after the season is over.

Living World Season 4 – same as above: Free while live, banked for those without Path of Fire if logged in while live. (Unless they announce some change, which would likely have been announced before PoF was offered for sale, just as they did with HoT.)

I believe ArenaNet had about half the staff (~200) during LWS1 than they do now (~400), so I’m not sure it’s a matter of staffing.

The expansion, Path of Fire, is releasing, almost exactly to the day, 2 months after the release of LW Season 3 Episode 6, One Path Ends. That’s pretty impressive. I don’t know if LW Season 4 Episode 1 will release in November (2 months after PoF release, and the only ‘break’ between Holiday Festivals), or in January/February (4/5 months after PoF release). Time will tell.

I loved Season One and its format and release cadence, but it was very difficult on the Devs. Every 2 months (or so) isn’t too bad, and with this cadence we have been getting new maps recently; so, that’s pretty nice.

I don’t think so. When you unlock a Mount, you unlock the corresponding Mount Mastery, and Masteries are account-wide.

What is the mandatory paywall? There is no mandate to purchase Living World Seasons to play expansions. No gate that keeps a player out of expansion maps/content, other than the cost of the expansion.

All maps are populated, as the game uses the MegaServer mechanic, which places players from all Servers into the same maps. (With the exception of WvW.)
