So i’m new here! just finished installing game and finished patching, went to start and I get an “invalid” account message! im like WTF? so I try my acc with the added 4 digits still no work, then went to recovery entered my email, serial #, but then it asks me for a character name!!! ive only just installed the ruddy thing so now im stuck with a $70 box o’ !@#$ can anyone offer some advice or assistance here?

To log into the game, you need to enter the email address associated with your game account, and your password. Using your display name (johndoe.xxxx) will engender an error. Good luck. =)

So i purchased the game about a week after release and played it to death, how ever their wasn’t much to do at end game at that time, so i uninstalled it to make room for other games. Later on (about the time of the eight bit event) i reinstalled and played a bit, only to uninstall again for different games to take its place. Now i’m rejoining the GW2 community for a third time, but this time can’t log in with my account!
Now of course i should be able to simply reset my account, my browser remembering my accounts password and being the only reason i’m able to log in to my site-bound account. How ever, the recovery methods are a bit obtuse for my use. Either i need both a character name as well as my registration number, or all of my characters are gone!
Add to that the fact that it would be unreasonable for me to have kept an email which may have seemed superfluous at the time in my inbox and i’m in a right pickle when it comes to getting my account back. Is their no way i would be able to have my password sent to my E-mail without these?
If you only need to remember your password, and it is saved in your browser, you need only check your browser’s tools, and find your saved password there. Good luck. =)
His account will be just as he left it. If he upgrades his previous trial account, all progress is saved. =)
Now ive tryed acc recovery i giv the info it ask for,i verify it and it says ok mail sent so you can change your password,but i never get the bloody mail,ive tryed like 10 times now and i never ever get an mail even when it says it send one,WTF is going on,
and no the mail aint in the spamfolder,reason for the PW change is of course ive forgotten it,i can log in to GW2 but not GW1 lol…
If you can log into the forums, (and GW2) you must have saved your password in your browser. You can use your browser’s tools to look at your saved (and forgotten) password. Good luck. =)
You need to go ahead and change your password and maybe your email, just to be sure. This person has your information. The only thing that’s stopping him right now is the IP authorization. This means your account is not secure and if he can figure out a way to get past it, he can steal your account.
This is good advice. Also, the email isn’t from the person in China, it is from ArenaNet, asking you to verify the unknown IP address. It is a good thing you have it enabled. =)

Not sure what kind of ‘-ness’ may have gotten to you, but the search function is broken on the forums, so it’s not you.
I, too, wish they would find a way to save the spots for those that get disconnected. Even from overflows, where you may be placed back into different one. Or back onto your home world…either way getting no credit for all your effort.
Well maybe you should complain to Anet about giving players a choice. Of course, since Ellen Kiel won by a landslide, my guess is that you would be in the minority here.
I am not sure that 52% to 48% could be actually considered a landslide……

Not sure…would you be willing to give up the near-year headstart you got with your original DDE for the 3 items from the Heroic Edition included in the current DDE?
Because that is the advantage you have over those purchasing a DDE with some extra items today.

I guess when they changed the puzzle part (of how to allow others through after you), they changed the spawn points. I remember ending up on the lighthouse, but it’s been many, many moons since I’ve done that puzzle.

You can get all those things. Each and every one of them are for sale in the Gem Store or the Trading Post. You can even get them for free with in-game gold! =)
As far as I know, you need to create a new email address for use in the trial, and subsequently (should you decide to buy) your new GW2 account. Email addresses are rather easy to obtain. Good luck. =)

What you got, OP, was 11 months and 20+ days Headstart over those buying the Heroic Edition, (whether Regular or Digital Deluxe). =)
We used portals to enter new lands in Guild Wars. I see no reason why there couldn’t be a Living Story release that introduced a portal to several zones in a new (expanded) map. There is no inherent limit on the amount of content that can be released through the Living Story method; some teams are working on large content releases, even as we speak. I am not sure it matters exactly how said content is made available to us, except for maybe the cost to the players.

The thing is, this isn’t a new setup or GOTY edition. It is Digital Deluxe that gives you the items, which we already have, so your logic is flawed.
Actually, it is the Heroic Edition, not the Digital Deluxe Edition. Although, the Digital Deluxe Edition now includes all items obtained in the Heroic Edition.
Is your guildmate new? There is a restriction on new users for the amount of gold they can send. It is lifted with time and play.
I only have a Quad-core, and I don’t get disconnected. Maybe you should try contacting Tech Support.

The QA team may or may not be on a two-week turnaround, but the developers for each 2-part related release are on a 4-month turnaround. Remember, there are 4 teams, each responsible for 2 releases per month. So, they have quite a bit of time to work on their content.

I am pretty sure that you don’t need to do 13 different maps for the invasion achievement, albeit it does sound that way by how it’s worded. Every time I finish an invasion, my count goes up, and I have done some of the maps 3 times.

You might want to edit out your email address/account name, as that is half the information needed to compromise your account. Also, if you post in Tech Support, they would be more likely to have the answer you are seeking.
I thought the communicator from Volkk, or whatever his name was, was pretty helpful. Whenever I was unsure what to do, I spoke to him…or looked in the Achievement panel. But, maybe, that only worked for me.
There could probably be more tips listed, and explanations of how things work.

There is a daily achievement that counts toward the Chaos Meta each day, so someone can get 14 of the needed achievement points that way, and only have to watch the speech or one of the others that are not too difficult and/or time-consuming. =)

You can create a new email account with a different provider, and email Customer Support at support@guildwars2.com and request a change of email address associated with your account. Be prepared to prove you are the actual account owner. Good luck. =)

ArenaNet has fixed and polished so much content, why are you concentrating so much on all the things they haven’t?
I am not sure your initial post is all that positive, OP, but I have no objections to adding all different kinds of content to the game. The more, the better. Just not one kind, at the expense of other kinds. =)
Might the word you are looking for be…stems?
I am enjoying this release. While encouraging me to visit different zones, I (personally) have done a few regular events, either while waiting for the LS events to start, or after finishing the LS event in the zone.
That’s a few more events than I would have done in said zone, had I not been encouraged to visit there.
It may not be perfect for enticing the population out of the usual places, but there are more people in the different zones than there were before. I think more people will stick around in some of the zones once the initial ‘newness’ wears off, and more people have some of the Achievements associated with this release. =)

Ahh…I tried it on the HUD. Does changing it in the Achievements panel change the order in the HUD? Because I don’t really care what order they are in a window I must open up, because there I have time to peruse them at my leisure. =)
If there are people not doing Living Story content, then I guess they aren’t being forced to do said content. Not sure how you can have it both ways.
ArenaNet has often stated they are and will continue to be working on dungeons, for those that enjoy that kind of content more than other content. =) SAB is coming back next month….that’s a dungeon of sorts. Sort of….
Very nice find. Also, the HUD says you can drag and drop achievements to re-order them, but I don’t seem to be able to do that. No biggie.
I finished (we were successful) the Fireheart Rise event a few minutes ago. Well done, ArenaNet! It was tons of fun and cool new rewards. Got around 7 achievements, as well. You weren’t kidding when you said it would be something BIG. Thank you for all your hard work, this content is most enjoyable. =)

They actually do have an Account Restoration Tool; but, unfortunately, no restoration tools for Guilds as those affect many accounts at once, usually.
