Balance is good. Maybe some people feel if they can accomplish everything in one day, they have no reason to log in after that day. I don’t have the insight the developers do, so I can’t really say which is more productive for the health of the game.

For me, personally, I’m all for having more things to do each day I log on. But, that’s just me. =)

Well, it took me about 7 years, but..as with anything…your mileage may vary. =)

Would it be wrong of the developers to encourage people to play their game every day?

From a developer-viewpoint, of course.

Let’s say we put a cap on achievement points. Eventually, a large portion of the playerbase achieves all that can be done. The Leaderboards now must split the number one spot among 50,000 people. All are now Number One! What is the point of that kind of Leaderboard?

If you say, ‘Well, Living Story achievements will count…’ Why aren’t they capped, or excluded? Not everyone has the time to visit the game for every Living Story arc. Not much difference between achievement points from dailies/monthlies and Living Story tasks, as far as being ‘infinite’.

There will always be more tasks to complete, whether they are from Living Story, or from dailies/monthlies. And if you take them both out, then you put a cap of achievable points, which really renders the Leaderboard pointless. (Much like it is now =P). The only thing this would accomplish is putting a cap on rewards.

Try deleting all or most of your in-game mail. A full mailbox is the number one reason for delayed delivery of purchases. Good luck. =)

The first chest awarded was the 100 point chest. Each day you log in, you will receive another chest up to and including the chest that correlates to your achievement point total. Retroactive chests are only rewarded once per day.

So far, chests have been: 100, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, and 3000, I believe. (One each day.)

In your opinion: ‘Second laurels and the rewards are what keep many doing daily /monthlies right now not the achievement points.’

I have ~280 jugs of karma sitting in the bank, and 115 laurels. They are not what keeps me playing daily. Thus, in my opinion, it is achievement points that entice me to play, not karma or laurels.

You see, each person has their own motivation for playing this game; although your suggestion suits your desires, it isn’t optimal for everyone. =)

I’m not a completionist, per se, though I do like to complete as many achievements as I feel comfortable doing so.

I like the fact they are there, as it gives me something to do; isn’t that their purpose, anyway? To give us things to do in-game? In Living Story, they are kind of a bonus. I’d be doing some of those tasks, anyway, so it’s great to be rewarded with a gold star, (and a shiny, if applicable), as well! =)

Kind of sounds like your Ctrl or Alt button is stuck on.

Check your explorer achievement list for zones. One of them will be missing several areas, probably. That will narrow down where to look. It seems you are missing 11 Renown Hearts. Timberline Falls has 11 hearts. You can look through the wiki, or the guide of your choice, to see which zones have 11 hearts.

Not a problem, StinVec. The wiki has a plethora of little known facts. ; )

You can potentially earn over 100 points killing nothing but ambient creatures every few days. “Indiscriminate Slayer” can only earn a maximum of 16 achievement points. Furthermore you cannot argue that 30 ambient creature kills over 16 days which is 480 kills amounts to less than the 1000 kills needed for Indiscriminate Slayer’s 16 points .

I was merely disproving the statement above. No real need for hyperbole to make the point. I, again, feel the system works as intended, as I am pretty sure the Developers want people to play their game. Now, it might not suit you to a tee, but it doesn’t seem especially harmful, either.

I don’t really understand why you would want to cap the points earned on dailies or monthlies. It is what brings many people into the game each day. To me, that seems better than a large population only on patch day, or a couple of days after.

Yes. You will need to earn another 417 achievement points before you qualify for the 2500 point chest. You only get Achievement Reward chests for achieving the amount of points they correlate to. If your guildies are getting more chests, perhaps they have more Achievement points.

Completing dungeons, or finishing your personal story, or obtaining the Gift of Exploration has nothing to do with Achievement chests, other than awarding you however many points those feats are worth.

Are you saying it won’t let you highlight the look, or the stats, or anything? Not sure what the picture is showing…

Also, have you tried switching sides? Putting the desired skin on the left, and stat item on the right?

The daily achievements rotate on a 14-day cycle, so you can get a total of 2 achievement points per month from ambient killer. Thus, it will take you 8 months to achieve what Indiscriminate Slayer gives you.

True, in five years, you can achieve nearly 100 points from Ambient Killer, but I don’t feel that is game-breaking.

Edit: After a bit more research, it seem Ambient Killer is once every 5 day, for a total of approximately 5 points per month. So it will only take you a bit less than 2 years to tally up 100 points from this category. Still not especially game-breaking, I feel.

It’s like the Sprinter achievement. You can get it infinite number of times, but it awards no points after the first time, if it even rewarded points that time.

It’s fine the way it is. I don’t really PvP, but I do like filling up the PvP locker. And I will enjoy wearing something other than the default PvP armor in the mini-games. If I get lucky with armor from the PvP chest, that is. =)

Are you referring the the Achievement point chest? Or the dailies chest?

Achievement point chests are awarded at 100 points, 500 points, 1000 points, and every 500 points thereafter. I am not sure how many achievement points you have after playing 1 month.

Daily chests are awarded after you finish that particular day’s daily requirements, and not at server reset.

You only receive one chest per day each day you log in. From the information shown in your screen shot, you will be getting the 2500 point chest at the next reset (tomorrow). Then, on (or after) the next day’s reset, you will receive the 3000 point chest. You will receive the 3500 point chest once you have accrued that amount of points (or at reset) of the day you achieve that many points in toto. The chests that show in the Achievement panel are chests next to be distributed.

Since then I have not received any of the items I purchased and my gems are gone, but I did receive an email confirmation of my gem purchase. SO, two ticket submissions for help later, here I am looking for answers. While on my Engineer(Jeigh in-game)standing in the pvp lobby, I purchased a (1)Total Makeover Kit, 1(set of 5) Rich Dragon Coffer(s), and (1)Trading Post Express. I’d like my items, if anything at least my gems returned? Please help if you can, thanks!

The only requirement for transferring between servers, whether cross-region or not, is the necessary cost in gems.

If you should wish to transfer at no cost, the requirement would be to delete all characters, and place all non-soulbound items in the bank, as the bank transfers with the account.

Even if she does not see 10/10, she should delete several, if not all, mail messages. The mail counter is somewhat bugged. Too many mail messages is the number one reason for delayed/missing mail deliveries. Good luck. =)

According to the Dev videos and such, each team (of the four) is responsible for 2 content patches (1 month’s worth). This gives them a 4-month turnaround until their next content release. All four teams keep in touch, though, and are overseen by a Living Story coordinator, so that the story(s) stay consistent and contiguous.

It seems that some arcs are 2-week, some (possibly) 3-week, and some 4-week or more.
Although, it is all one over-reaching continual arc, interconnected.

Ascended Gear

The same selection of amulets and rings can be purchased from WvW vendors requiring 10 fewer Laurel.png but with the additional cost of 250 Badges of Honor.png.

Just to be a bit more accurate, helms are 250 scraps, and wind-catchers are 150, I believe. Of course, the both cost one Golden ticket. =)

Item icons that appear on the right side of the screen while autoloot is on will be correctly positioned when rapidly acquiring items.

People expressed concerns before, that the items scrolled by too quickly. Thus, the change.

If you head to the Mists, you will find the PvP lockers, and all your deposited items. Once deposited, they become account-bound. The one item that did not go into the PvP locker was probably a duplicate. =)

Isn’t Belcher’s Bluff turn-based?

I don’t know why some people don’t care for Jumping Puzzles; maybe they aren’t good at jumping. I know that Norns and Charr make it more difficult. I prefer my Asura for those puzzles.

Interesting opinion, but not shared by all. Some of the jumping puzzles are very puzzling, to me.

I hope when you say multiple genres, you aren’t thinking of FPS shooters, and such, or…if so…that’s a completely separate part of the game. Those are not my favorite. Lol.

Personally, I doubt it. In GW1, one either had to wait a year for festival headgear, or in many cases about 6 years, until they finally released all the previous holiday ones.

Still, this is a different game…who knows for sure, other than ArenaNet.

To be fair, it’s not your name….names are first come, first serve. You have no idea how long that person has been using said name in his/her gaming career. He/she may feel you took his/her display name! =)

I’m confused by ‘max stats’. What kind of stats are you asking about? Do you mean Magic Find and XP Gain and such?

As many posts and threads all over the forum about this, maybe names on the chests would have helped us all. As in 500-point Chest, 2000-point chest, etc.

The interface was/is a bit confusing.

So, far we have gotten the 100 pt chest, 500 pt chest, 1000 pt chest and 1500 pt chest. Today we received the 2000 pt chest. No one has moved up to 3000 or 4000 yet. The chest that show in the Achievement window are chests you are yet to receive. What you have to look forward to. Once you get a chest, it drops off the preview window. So, you will get gloves in a couple of days, if you log in each day. =)
