Sorry, I don’t have post-processing on, so I don’t see the effects of the alcohol. Regardless, this kind of bright-white ‘bloom’ wasn’t present before, and now it is. I am hoping it is a bug that can be corrected; otherwise, sadly, the game has taken a turn for the worse graphics-wise.
You know, I recently went to my Home Instance to check out what might have changed, on my Asura (main).
I am nearly finished with her Personal Story. There was not even one person in the instance that would speak (Press F to ‘talk’). I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed. =(
I seem to remember that the whole inappropriate Guild Name issue was changed. They started renaming Guilds some time ago. Perhaps, the Guild was removed for another reason?
Then, again, maybe my memory is faulty. I’m sure Support can explain what the problem is.

I guess I’m ‘dumb’, because I don’t do, and never have done, ALL of the Daily options. I rarely do dungeons or WvW, as it just isn’t my preferred playstyle. Getting some rewards from those chests a little later than some doesn’t break the game for me. But, that’s just dumb ol’ me. =)
You can always contact support by sending an email to support@guildwars2.com
I would use the search feature, here on the forums, but as it’s currently broken….
I just wanted to let Angel McCoy know how much I enjoyed her short story about a certain ‘individual’ (so as not to spoil anything for others), and let her know how much she is appreciated. =)
Keep up the awesome work!
So, is this kind of ‘blind’ different than the blind creatures place on you? I’ve been blinded for 10 months, and never lost the ability to see what’s on the screen before this last patch or so.
That also doesn’t explain getting this effect when no creatures or other players are around, though…

Pretty sure nothing we have gotten so far is soul-bound. If you are talking about the weapon skins, they are unlimited, so kind of not soulbound.
It took me a few tries, but I got some screenshots of the ‘bloom’ in the race. I believe it happens when others use powerups, though I’m not sure.
Definitely from the .dat file. The User talk page states that very thing.
Have you tried Poyaqui? I’m not sure if he counts, or not.
This has proved helpful to many:
If you do not see your rewards being offered by Kimmes, the following solution has fixed the issue with some accounts:
Log back into GW1 and speak to Kimmes in your Hall of Monuments.
Toggle your hall display between character-wide and account-wide.
Return to Kimmes in GW2.

I’ve had this problem since shortly after launch, sadly.
I have tried the page and get the error that my character could not be loaded or found.
I thought this might be because I have a space in my name, so I tried a character that had no spaces. No joy there.
Lastly I thought, oh it might be my handle including the number…. but again no joy.
I am trying this on Google Chrome (latest version) with windows 7 64bit. Everything is up to date (flash, java etc etc).
My characters ive tried to check are Lv20 and Lv6 (im a noob so sue me lol).
Below is a screenshot of the error I get :s
Just to be sure….You are entering Guild Wars (1) character names, yes? It doesn’t work with GW2 character names, unless you have characters with the exact same name in GW1.
Maybe you could skip the ‘easy’ ones, and just do the more difficult ones, like Dungeon Master, or….whatever you feel is challenging enough. =)
For me, Torch Master is challenging, or most of the offhand-weapon ones. Also, plants and giants. And jumping puzzles, I’m not good at those disappearing platform ones. I guess what I’m trying to say is: Difficulty/challenge is in the eye of the beholder. =)

I entered my home instance today….no problem. (Human in Divinity’s Reach.) I tried, again unsuccessfully, Belcher’s Blast. Or whatever it is called (senior moment…lol).
My necromancer’s armor is dyed to match Imyrldeen. (Excuse the misspelling, if applicable.)
My engineer’s armor is dyed to match the Wintersday Charr Toy Soldier mini. (And the pop-gun.)
My ranger is in Ocean and Canteloupe, I think…..I don’t have the game open right now. To me, it looks really nice and matches the default Dragon Helm color and Molten Facility gloves.
My mesmer is in turquoises, teals and lavenders, and a medium-light blue, to match the icon colors, sort of…lol.
My thief and ele are undecided, at this time. Maybe when they get weapons or backpieces I especially love….

The Sunspear ‘mission’ for remnants is pretty easy, too. Just takes a few minutes to farm the first part, and the drops are not that rare. So, you don’t have to buy them, if you don’t want to.
It’s a quest ..um…picked up in LA? I think…then just step outside.
M.O.X. can be recruited by any Level 10 character on an account that includes each of the three major campaigns (Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall). Characters must also have a free inventory slot (for receiving their customized copy of the Golem User Manual).
To recruit M.O.X., speak to it outside of any port:
Tyria: North Kryta Province, from the northwestern exit of Lion’s Arch.
Cantha: Bukdek Byway, from the southeastern exit of Kaineng Center.
Elona: Plains of Jarin, from the northwestern exit of Kamadan.
You don’t need armor for Mox or Ranger pets….that was my point. Have you read any of the guides to filling the HoM? They show the easiest way to get points. =)
Oh, and not a ‘bro’, lol. =P
Edit: If you put Mox in, you will get your ‘one more point’! Yay!
You can click ‘deposit collectibles’ and they will go to your PvP locker, and become account-bound. =)
No need to destroy them.
No heroes, at all? Mox is a freebie, as are Ranger pets. I’m not sure how long you’ve played, but no more minis? If you have money, you might be able to buy one. Can do the moa chick quest, as well…..
An update:
Today I did the Sprint, and the ‘bloom effect’ (I guess it’s called) was really bad! It really slows down the race because you can’t see anything but a big white glare. It goes away by itself after a few seconds (maybe 4-7), but that certainly can put you in last place. I haven’t changed anything in my settings, or my drivers, so I’m guessing it’s something in the last patch or two.
You can contact support from Services at the top of this page. =)
It seems to me that the Achievement Reward chests have something for everyone, no matter where their focus in the game lies….Pve, PvP, WvW.
I can’t see how ArenaNet could personalize the chest to your particular playstyle, so they just put a little something in for everyone, no matter where they play. =)
Hmm, maybe just my luck, but every single item I got was for PvP. Badges, blueprints, PvP armor, PvP glory booster (oh and a box of fun!)
Really? That’s odd. I got those things from my PvP chest. I got boosters, and mystic forge stones, res stones, and other stuff from the Achievement chest.

Oh, and maybe they thought some people would see some rewards from a playstyle different than their own, and think: ‘Cool….maybe I will try that out to get some more of those things!’ Just a thought. =)

You will receive a chest at each 500 point benchmark. If it takes you a day, or a month, or a year, when you reach that benchmark, you will receive the chest corresponding to said benchmark.
You only receive chests daily if you have a backlog of achievement points.
Just guessing, but…
If we saw, say, five different dragon attacks, some people would probably complain that killing dragons is all we ever do. That they appear too often, and it’s boring.
Oh…and, of course, that they weren’t rewarding enough. =P
I noticed this yesterday for the first time, as well. So, I am guessing after the one of the more recent updates. I can’t remember where I was exactly, but the glare from a large-ish light area was so strong it made half the screen impossible to see.
I’ve only come across it once or twice, and I haven’t done any Personal Story quests recently, so I can’t comment on that.
I should have posted this a long time ago but never got around to it. I was an avid player of Guild Wars. I bought every expansion and played through every expansion. I of course added all of my accomplishments to The Hall of Monuments in guild wars.
The problem I am having is I CANNOT RECEIVE MY REWARDS FROM HALL OF MONUMENTS! I got the Hall of Monuments stone and teleported there. I talked to the stupid historian and all he tells me is “Heros once strode here I see the same glory in your eyes”…… I WAS ONE OF THOSE HEROS!! Don’t even tell me this BS. I played Guild Wars for 5 years and now I have nothing to show for it!!!?
Yes I linked my accounts, yes I had my achievements logged into the hall of Monuments in gw1. One easy way to tell is that when I click Hall of Monuments tab on this website and type in my old GW1 characters name “I Am Overrated” It shows my accomplishments.
Fix this, seriously ANET this is on your end not mine. I have done everything I was supposed to do and have not been able to claim any of my rewards.
This has worked for some people: Enter your Hall of Monuments in GW1. Speak to Kimmes the Historian, and change your Hall from Account-wide to Character-wide, or vice versa. Once you have done that, enter the Hall of Monuments in GW2 and speak to Kimmes, once again. Your rewards should now be available. Good luck. =)
You can put them in your PvP locker where they will become Account-bound. =)
Yes, there is. You can customize your soundtrack with music of your choice. =)
Even just combat music.
Only the 100 point chest. The next day you log in, you will receive the 500 point chest, the next day you will get the 1000 point chest. Etc., etc.
Once you reach your Achievement Point cap, you won’t receive another chest until you pass another 500-point milestone.
Not a problem. You will get all your chests, and just think! You will receive some on days others do not as you have a backlog. =)
I believe you will receive 1 chest per day logged in. They aren’t distributed through the mail, but as Daily chests or Guaranted Rare chests are.
As I understand, you will be able to choose from all the weapons available. The UI does not have enough space to show them all.
You are aware that there is a different team writing the Living Story arcs, yes? Not Ree and Jeff….
Just want to cast my vote. I don’t think they got it wrong. And I think there will be just as much of a firestorm if they revert the scores now.
What about the people that tried hard to make it to the top 100, and finally made it when they were rewarded for their 1000s of hours work filling the HoMs? Is it fair to shove them off the top of the list?
If there is a solution, it surely isn’t taking points away now.
I bought $10 worth of gems about half an hour ago and when the gems didn’t appear I thought I must have misclicked or something, so I bought another $10 worth only to not receive those either. Is there a bug going on at the moment with the gem store? Has the money been taken still? Any help would be great!

Good luck. =)
Hi guys,
Im making my way from work, and i was wondering will i get two chest for achievement awards for soon to be yesterdays rewards and the upcoming daily reset? I want the new weapons!
No one has the new weapons yet. You will get one chest today (if you are logging in after reset). The 100 point chest, if you’ve not received it yet, or the 500 point chest (if you already received the 100 point one). The third chest (1000 point one) is the first to have the new gear rewards.
The baskets? I’ve not received a golden ticket. The best I got was recipes. Or are you talking about something else? Are the fortunes supposed to be in the baskets?…or am I just lost, as usual?
My leaderboard score moved up. I was looking at the board earlier today, and one of my guild’s leader had a +248 points. I thought to myself: Oh, silly me, I should have checked my points right after I logged on. (Just to see the jump)
Still…I don’t understand the concern of most about this. Unless you had 10,000+ points, or so, does it really make that big of a difference if you were number 832 and now are 883?
What are we competing for? To be on the front page of the leaderboards? Woohoo!
How many people scroll past the first page or two, except to see their own name?
If it’s the reward, well, everyone will get the chest eventually. Unless, they stop playing, and then who cares where they are on the leaderboard. Except for the top 100 people, or so, I just don’t see the issue. That’s just me. Maybe I’m clueless, or something.
After some research, it seems it works as such:
You are rewarded at every 500 point benchmark. Depending on what your total points are, you will be rewarded with the appropriate point level chest. It is just confusing while we catch up to our point level. If you have, say…3864 points, you will be rewarded (on consecutive days, starting tomorrow) a 500 pt. chest, a 1000 pt. chest, a 1500 pt. chest, a 2000 pt. chest, a 2500 pt. chest, a 3000 pt. chest, and finally a 3500 pt. chest. The next chest you receive will be a 4000 pt. chest, on whatever day you hit the 4000 point benchmark.
At least, this seems to be how it will work, from what I gathered reading here and there.
Not sure. Is it worth complaining about?
Remember, you need about 10,000 points already for that 500 extra points to make a difference as to whether you would be a leader on the Leaderboards. I am in the 90th percentile, and I am nowhere near close to that. Not sure what one ‘wins’, anyway. We are talking about one 500 point chest, I guess. /shrug
The Southsun boat was replaced with the Asura portal.
Via the Asura Gate: West of Consortium Gift Shop, east of Claw Island Portage waypoint.
Has anyone actually seen this 100 point chest? Every reference I can find states chests start at 500, and are rewarded in increments of 500. Anyone have less than 100 Achievement Points to verify there is such a chest?
Gee, it was a secret to me. I had no idea PvE was dead!
