Or maybe it’s just my case. Even though my matches have been fair and reasonable.

I… I rest my case.

I’m not a person who plays with a top down camera view so that’s why I don’t understand the issue. However, I do like the way Sunrise looks currently and wish for no change at all. Taste differs. If OP wants more flashy version of the Sunrise, maybe look at the Eternity? Or even better, just save your time and resources for the new HoT legendary greatsword?

Wait a minute, I own Sunrise and I like the way it looks on my characters. Why would I go out of my way to dictate (or even care about) how it would look to someone else? Much less from a person who didn’t own the weapon to begin with. I’m sorry but your request didn’t make any sense to me. As Randulf said, it is upsetting to some legendary owners when ANET decided to revamp some legendary effects in the past. So unless it is by popular request, there is no reason to keep tinkering with the old legendary weapon.

Also, I attach two other pictures: normal game view and bird view. Sunrise is fine, once again.

P.S.: If you think pictures aren’t enough, maybe youtube videos help?

@OP: My opinion is opposite to yours. Sunrise is absolutely glorious and it doesn’t require any change. Pictures below to demonstrate what you would describe as a “bright fiery sun rising in a dim pale blue sky”. A clear blue (morning/afternoon) sky is a totally different beast and I believe it does not apply to Sunrise.

5k AP requirement for level 32 fractal

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Did you disagree for the sake of getting the last word? Because (I have clearly said that)

AP only tells you one thing: how invested you are to the game.

In a way, AP doesn’t show you how much instanced content the person plays either.

At the same time, the number of mastery doesn’t guarantee a player is good or bad. AP or Mastery just shows how dedicated a player is, or how much they play in different aspects of the game. That said, high AP player is still a much more interesting conversation starter than a low AP player.

As for Jerem, I believe he had plenty of practice into Jumping Puzzle and he excels at it.

You know, the majority of SC members has very high AP and they are one of the guilds with highest skills in PvE. AP only tells you one thing: how invested you are to the game.

Wrong it shows just how much noninstanced content person plays…. It shows that he plays alot of OpenWorld PvE what is the content with the lowest skill required.

In a way, AP doesn’t show you how much instanced content the person plays either.

For one good example: a good friend of mine, Jerem, 28,589 AP, was one of the leaders of Snow Crows. He is a daily farmer, achievement addicts kittenorts to PvP just enough to get the Champion titles that he needs. He has all other Edge of the Mist achievements – the most boring thing in this world I disgust. He did enough map completion to build up 12 legendary weapons. At a glance, he looks like a dirtiest casual chinese farmer. BUT, he is the one of the best mesmers in EU. He was in at least 80% of SC dungeon records. He was in one of the earliest raid teams that cleared the wing. AND, he got that AP number 5 months ago – currently MIA.

At the same time, the number of mastery doesn’t guarantee a player is good or bad. AP or Mastery just shows how dedicated a player is, or how much they play in different aspects of the game. That said, they are still a much more interesting conversation starter than a low AP player.

And what exactly does this prove? I have a friend with 27,000ap that doesn’t know how to dodge lupi’s kick

Nice, I have 19k AP. Is it clear enough that I wasn’t talking/referring/responding/making a point to you? How’s about reading everything with its context? [The original context is quoted below. Please disregard if readers have been aware.]

TIL Not Joining a Squad gets you called out

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Once, I got shoo’d away while standing at SCAR lane but without joining the squad. The squad commander literally told me to go away or change map instead of “being a dead weight”, to which I replied that I know the fight, and I’m taxi-ing my guildmates into the map. However, the harassment did not end as I believed that commander rallied his squad members to say nasty things to me in /say and /map chat just to chase me away.

The incident is so rare and on such an amusing level of immature and hive mind that I can never unsee.

You failed to mention that you were there boosting numbers when SCAR scaling was broken (+ pre Gerent nerf) and the commander already had enough people in their lane.

I agree for the most part that there is no legitimate reason now to shoo away people or force them to join squad but back then I recall your little tantrums and ‘justifications’ at the cost of everyone else in SCAR lane so you’re hardly one to talk.

Thanks for coming out. I understand that it takes courage to admit one’s misdeed in the past, especially when it’s embarrassing at the level of your incident. However, this part may come up as your attempt to cover it up as an excuse:

You failed to mention that you were there boosting numbers when SCAR scaling was broken (+ pre Gerent nerf)

I recall your little tantrums and ‘justifications’ at the cost of everyone else in SCAR lane so you’re hardly one to talk.

May I explain my side of story? I’m in a guild that did multiple successful guild-run Chak Gerent events every week before the nerf (Ethereal Guardians, btw). We always had 30 people on SCAR lane and each person pulled their weight perfectly regardless of the harsh scaling that casual event goers speak of. Back then your squad had 20 people at most and I was pretty confident to stay in SCAR lane to make sure the DPS is on point. I recalled there was multiple bad RNG spots but SCAR lane still made it in time without any helpers. So, what is the point for calling out a single person before the kill? Or would you and your squad have mobbed me if SCAR lane had failed that time?

Speaking of my “little tantrum”, I told you and your supporters to “go away”, “leave me alone”, “I know the fight” and “I’m gonna stay”. What did your supporters say to push me away? “leacherous”, “I hope you get aids, cancer”, “kittening leech”, “we all report you”, “enjoy your ban”. Well, shame on everyone of you. I stayed, I killed the boss, I got the last laugh.

I have to disagree about the “hard gated” thing. My casual guild only killed VG two weeks ago. We used two druids on every kills then as a safety pad. We always phased at 6:50 to 7:05 minutes on the timer. Since last week, we had to pug for Gors because we cannot get everyone during the week days. Nailed it. The catch? I keep doing gear check, skill check, role check, faq check every single member, every single time. It’s not about being hardcore or casual. My guild succeeded by bringing the right mindset.

How observant are you of looks?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Iris Ng.9845

Iris Ng.9845

I’d like to know how observant you people are of other peoples looks?
I am absent minded most of the time, but I’m easily attracted by a good color combination of a character.

What does impress you?
Anti-thematic idea but with a cohesive design and poignant style. Of course, the ability to pick the best color palette for their characters. For example: a Thief looks like a hippy beach boy? An elementalist looks like a sultry Madam of the Night? An engineer looks like a cartoon mouse? A necro doesn’t look edgy, but instead, pretty and girly? They are so out of place in the context of the game but that’s how they stand out and force me to notice. I love that genuine individuality that leads to irresistible curiosity and quiet admiration.

What turns you off?
Stacking multiple trendiest items on the market. That is just a desperate cry for attention since the players probably lacks either effort or creativity to be selective with his fashion – and instead, chooses to show off his breadth of wealth.

We run two druids at VG, Sab, or hammer DH, or off-heal tempest and we have no shames about it. At the end of the day, the goal is a fast, smooth clear instead of an amazing, brag-worthy record. I think I never had less than 50 gold a day when I ran dungeon tour nightly before. I made a legendary-level purchase every month in the past year. So I’m pretty confident that dungeons were very profitable to semi-casual players. Since HoT, we had much more demands than supply – if you look at the hiking price of all the materials and commodities. If dungeons had still been a profitable source of gold, I shudder at the thought of how the TP price would become. I suppose nerfing liquid gold is the right call, I just don’t agree with the severity: 40-50% would be more in line with the time spent grinding out dungeons. Even the old GW1 dungeons have better loot to justify its duration.

I have some moderate experience with a healing aurashare tempest which can hold point in an even team fight 2v2, 3v3 and 2v3. I changed out my amulet and runes depending on the enemy team comp. Against teams that are heavy in lock down dps, rev/thief/scrapper,crusader ammy and scrapper rune. Kaypud’s Unrelenting Assault on me was like 2k in total. Against teams that have reapers, mender ammy and soldier rune. In this case, my team tries to break into smaller fight and avoid getting snowballed. Mender is really good at holding up in small skirmish with diamond skin and is decent at watching points

Dear raiders - a question

Iris Ng.9845

The E.G. raid team has a resident dragonhunter in almost every Gorseval no updraft videos post patch. I’m not sure they provided the pov of the dragonhunter but I’m pretty positive with the experience i have with them. In fact, the well timed aegis for the group of five during the slam attack does benefit the team dps in that fight.

Besides, my regular group always has a dragonhunter tank for vale guardian and he is amazing. He could sustain very very well independent from the healer who is already busy with keeping up the sustain of the green group. I have seen both chronotank and tempest tank struggle without external healing/protection/etc and their damage rotation suffers. Not with the dragonhunter. I’m not gonna hype it because I haven’t played dragonhunter myself but my experience with good ones proves that they have never impeded the group dps like the conventional perception. Their ease of play and high dps potential outclassed the current Revenant and should be recognized accordingly.

The only thing I would agree to is to halve Mossman’s toughness and double up his damage and add the ability for him to reset if his melee attack cannot connect to the target (if the target is still in range). Immediate reset and ignore range attack.

With 2832 condi damage and 66.4% condi duration (+33% for bleeding) while using your recommended meta build:

Tooltip stats (heavy armor target):

ø Grenade damage full buffed
power: 2797
condi: 2583
cast time: 1.00s
total damage: 5380
damage per sec of invested time: 5380

ø Poison Gas Shell damage full buffed
power: 2125
condi: 6149
cast time: 0.80s
total damage: 8274
damage per sec of invested time: 10342

And against VG:

ø Grenade damage full buffed
power: 3635
condi: 2583
cast time: 1.00s
total damage: 6218
damage per sec of invested time: 6218

ø Poison Gas Shell damage full buffed
power: 2761
condi: 6149
cast time: 0.80s
total damage: 8910
damage per sec of invested time: 11138

But hey, don’t let that stop you from not using it and feeling good about yourself. :P

I’m still on the staff camp (because I adore German), but I’m glad about this number and I can totally imagine Zelyhn smiling from ears to ears with a glass of red wine on one hand and blue cheese on the other on top of the Eiffel Tower.

Good troll.

But you do have a point though. Warrior needs better sustain against condi and CC burst in PvP, not PvE though. Maybe OP should be posted in the PvP forum?

So today I went to the supermarket because I was craving for some watermelon. Then I realized watermelon has gone up to $10 a piece while I could have bought a bag of apple for $3. So I complained to the store manager about this outrage.

Small Update:

We currently have enough people to fill in three raid groups, so I decided to change our targeted recruiting:

  • Skilled Druids and Chronomancers are in high demand.
  • Players who are efficient in multiple classes are always welcome.

Here is what to expect as a newcomer:

  • Invites are sent indiscriminately per request.
  • Sims assesses your skill level and decides your rank.
  • Most of the skilled players will form their own groups and (try to) swiftly clear the wing as soon as the reset hits. However,
  • We don’t have any preferred fixed groups in the guild. If people like you, they will like to play with you.
  • If your work schedule doesn’t allow you to join an early bird group, don’t fret. Keep asking. Groups have been made all day long during the week.
  • If you never have a kill and need training, please speak up. We do arrange a learning run so that people lower their expectation and upper their patience. Do notice that everyone has a limited budget for prolonged runs.
  • Prepare your best ability and set a right mentality. Things go south often the first time you play with strangers. So keep in check your builds, your food, your roles, your stats, your computer, your internet, your cat, your moose next-door, etc.
  • Please take a shower often.

Go ahead and nerf Boon Duration, too? +300 Concentration (and 40% Magic Find!) is clearly too much
