I don’t even want Meteorologicus.

then craft it and sell the legendary =)

When you put it like that..
I still don’t want it. XD Though, I think I’d still get the skin for it, right? Might be worth all the extra trouble.

I got my Storm from Twilight Arbor after I already had my Meteorlogicus. At that time, I decided to make the second one, sold it, and afforded my permanent hair kit.

There are quite a few things you can buy with gold that would be worth the trouble and fortune of a legendary weapon. Want that hair kit? Preserved Queen Bee? Black Poly-gem? Aetherized skins? etc.

Offhand axe is good when you want to build up adrenaline quickly before going perma-camp greatsword – being the cases when fight needs to be short and burst required.

- Kitten trash mobs that are better dead than CC’d: Earth Elementals, Embers, Molten mob.
- Situationally, trash mobs that are dead before you can CC: Aetherblade, Ascalon, Cliffside Novice/Chanter.
- Bosses that melt too fast for you to care about swapping to axe/mace: Archdiviner (last fight), Molten Weapon Facility boss, Molten berserker, Svanir Shaman, Old Tom.

Fury would mess up the whole thing. I’m interested of the base chance.

Edit: Normal enemies seem to crit. So the question is, can elite enemies too?

Elite mobs in cm have been critting me. Cutpurses, bombers and thugs have fast attack rates if you need it tested.

Tested lots of hits from 2 cutpurses at start of p2. No critical hits.

Level 82 risen berserker in arah, no crits. Btw, has anyone ever seen bloomhunger critting?

I have surely been one-shot by a Sniping shot of the Veteran Straza when he didn’t have any fury at all. The log said I was critically hit for 12,2xx damage. I remember the case very well as I was hit while being in stealth as well.

Thief is much more preferred in any fast run groups just because he supports and utilizes icebow better than the engi.

Berserker engie is weaker than Thief with ice bow, yes, but the difference isn’t noticeable to the human eye. A 9 second ice bow boss fight lasts 9.5 with berserker engie in place of thief, and thats being generous to the Thief. Whoop de doo.

I can’t wait for Ice Bow to be gone then we get to read all the threads about how useless Thief is as a class in PvE.

Thief is useless? Stealth is useless? high damage in single target is useless?

Try cleave.

Fixing bugs in dungeons/fractals goes a long way in making the content more enjoyable. Take the Ancient Ooze for example. So many plebs exploiting it on that dumb coral until anet fixed it. After players figured it out, they can actually do it without hiding behind some silly exploit… oh look, it wasn’t so bad after all.

Crying “oh anet dont’ care, we just want gold, blah blah” when encountering a legit complaint like fixing an exploit is just pathetic.

Wait, the 900-1200 range exploit where it doesnt move/do anything is fixed?

Nope. You can still bug it and make it look silly.

The same could be said about the PvP in this game.

:D made me LOL… god I wish I liked the PVP in this game, but it’s kitten as far as I’m concerned.

If you watch AG stream weekly, 99% of the chatty audience are participants of the tourney that night. However, with the upcoming un-restriction of Latin America, I think more players are attracted to and coming back to the competitive scene. Do you know that many teams were disqualified in WTS or major invitational tourneys because they are not from China/US-Canada and Europe Union? It is basically like cutting one’s own limb when they try to expand spvp yet restrict players at the same time.

Anyhow, just look past over the salt and lemons, there are as many cool folks in PvP as in PvE. Also equal amount of jerks.

Warrior using warhorn 4 and ele staff air 4 and you got perma swiftness. The stealth drone lagged way behind when running so not perma stealth. Still rather just use tools as 3rd line for lower recharge on toolbelts and general convenience.

Engi can finally best thief at stealth and pathing now. It’s a good news to me.

Can we get an updated DPS tier list

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Iris Ng.9845

Iris Ng.9845

Overall all these DPS things are quite unrealistic, you have to apply some thought and kind of factor how it changes the situation. On Engi I’m often using various forms of CC (Blind/Immob mostly) and in doing so my DPS surely drops quite a bit. All these in a vacuum tests just show us the potential.

I found out recently that an engineer only needs like 80% rotational efficiency to beat thief dps, you can kitten kitten up and still be the best choice for encounters where you want stealth.

Well obviously Engi > Thief, and now with the new stealth bot maybe we can do the neat pathing tricks that were the reason to take a thief over engi before (at least IMO).

Then our engi meets the Legendary Dredge Mining Suit, Subject Alpha and Alphard – he frowns. But it’s not like the thief has an easier time fully meleeing the Dredge Mining Suit either. If the group tries to achieve the highest burst damage possible then everything needs to be buffed around the ice bows and ice bow holders. Thief is much more preferred in any fast run groups just because he supports and utilizes icebow better than the engi. If such group requires more than 2 ice bow sitting than they seriously need to consider swapping out classes for more sustained DPS. In that case, each individual efficiency counts towards the personal DPS of the comp. Things like how close you are to the highest damage number, how many melee hit per second, how many perfect reflect, how often you can burst, how often you take hit, how often you can maintain conditioned damage modifiers, etc.

Generally speaking, why would you even compare something arbitrary like personal damage when you aren’t soloing?

If you want to compare support builds, just remove 25% from everyone else’s DPS and give it to the support warrior.

This burns so badly that I cannot even stop rofl.

Also, this topic seems to look for a legitimate excuse to exclude a certain class out of the group because “their personal DPS in a perfectly vacuum group setting is not good enough to warrant their spot in the party”. And you guys don’t even consider the encounters !!!
How many of pugs can bypass 2 phases of Grawl Shaman, Ashym? How many of them can cleave and burst all the champions in Uncategorized fractals in 2 Ice Bow sitting? How many of them can dodge Archdiviner or Mossman and not get carried by Deep Freeze?

Anyhow, Wethospu summed it up perfectly. Striving for a commonly good DPS comp without an actual insight on the encounter is a bit of irony.

@deSade: sound like Tom :^)

@Jerus: There is a way to do that event efficiently without the inhumane tagging method.

Basically, I’ve got 20 credits for the majority is Gold and Silver. Meaning I had to finish one event every 1.5 minutes. This is what I did: There are three different events. The Catapult event requires on defense and 3 active catapults to kill the boss fast. This one is in fact a time sink as most of the time you cannot rely on random people for defense. If I come across this event, I kill 2 mobs then leave before the event scales up. The second Bomb event is a noob trap. It is time gated by the rate at which the bomb husk is spit out. It also tends to gather crowds of zerg and scales up. I’d stay and finish this event if there are less than 10 people, otherwise, leave. The last event: Shield Bloom is a DPS check. It is the perfect event to solo. It takes less than a minute to finish with a group of 5 or less. If it takes longer to finish, more people will arrive, the event scales up and takes even longer… The vicious cycle continues. My strategy is to remember the location of these events. As soon as they pop up, I would be there to finish them and get ready to run to the next location. I also used my ranger for this farm. Sometimes I arrived late, the vine was dead but the remnant still scattered around. The 1500 range of long bow helped me secure a tag for the late finishing. I farmed this event 4-5 times a day at most.

Update n4: got a lunaria. WORTH! Most rewarding content in the game!

Hey, my norn ele would kill for such a sparkling little gem ^^ poor girl only gets some handed-down healing power/condi rings usually

But what’s this fixation with rewards around the forums these days? I need this forum to cheer me up during work hours, but at the moment it seems all is doom and gloom, and how rewards are lousy all over the place.

I may be a weird one, but I actually enjoyed the mordrem event (well, the part I was able to do … lots of rl keeping me out of the game atm). It gave me a bunch of new minis, about six levels worth of experience and a good bunch of map exploration on the three maps done on the alt (lvl 34 -> 40) I used for the event, plus a good amount of iron, soft wood, pepper and even the fun of chaotically running around the maps all the time . That sure looks like a reward to me …

I’ve been doing low-level fractals with guildies, took a while (close to an hour for a lvl 10 ), but we spent most of that time goofing around and just having fun, and got a bit of gold, some loot (yellows, possibly an exotic, some mist essences … no ring though, since we didn’t go above lvl 10) for time spent having fun, too. But I gather from the forums that that’s not a reward but rather just “junk”?

Helped out a guildie that was stuck in a lousy TA pug when some of the pugs quit, got some gold and tokens for a couple of minutes and two enjoyable (if chaotic ) fights against Leurent and the nightmare tree with a less-than-perfect group setup (lowest character was lvl 55 ). I guess having fun and getting some gold and tokens on top of that does not count as rewards either?

I did use one of my spare character slots and a lvl 20 scroll (first 3-year-birthday won’t come for another 8 weeks) to create a new charr just to go through the early charr personal story, picking up a bunch of loot bags, a racial and an order skin, a couple of keys (lvl 10+40 stories … “thanks” to real life I won’t find the time to play through stories more often than any other week or so anyway), and see a lot of story I had missed so far (yes, I like to check them all out and see how they’re all connected ). Got a couple of boosters that will come in handy when the expansion hits, low level materials for crafting ascended materials, and more … but probably no reward from what I can read on the forums.

Sorry for my ranting, but I’m just so tired of people getting given stuff left and right and center and only complaining about “no rewards worth the effort”. I guess ANet would have to cut down all the gold, materials, salvaging fodder etc. to 0 and only give out a piece of loot once every 10k kills to make stuff worth it again …

Not intended against anyone particular, it’s just something that’s been bugging me more and more lately. With all the stuff we get in this game, what exactly do people expect when they say “no rewards”?

Isn’t fun how we want to spend our quality time in the company of dear and joyous people? I agree with you that I had almost taken rewards for granted. I stopped doing dungeon tours but I still see gold flowing into my account daily. I have afforded expensive dyes and skins with no effort in grinding – except for the Mordrem Event, but I’m happy with it. My daily activity is varied with doing map completion, Silverwaste, personal story (key farming), to grace my friends, old and new, with my presence in PvP or fractals, or drag them across their safety boundary to try something they don’t normally do.

The other day, Jerus, Jeth and me made an “All welcome” group in Arah and had a power necro and a bearbow joining us. Despite such an unorthodox comp (Jeth as condi war, Jerus as engi, me as mesmer), the run was pleasantly awesome that we decided to make an encore with another Arah path and the daily fractal. Then I played Settler’s guard, Jeth as condi engi and Jerus as condi ranger. It was so friggin’ fun for everyone.

WTB block/invul for thief pls.

@OP
IMO you can’t go wrong with warrior for PVE. But I personally don’t like their animation (no flashy moves) and blade trail is so ugly with standard gs. I suggest you to try every class first if you don’t want to regret. Just a little note, Necro and Ranger are usually hated by community for pve.

Since ele and warrior conquers the solo record, so I regard those classes the best for pve.

Which community?

and thief can use staff if they care about block.

Then during his barrage in p2, they panicked, ran towards reflects, got hit; we chained down while trying to rez and wiped. My friend got confused about why pug hadn’t done anything until then. The same thing happened the second time; the group wiped. The warrior let out his disappointment: “junk team” and left. The ele swiftly followed. Should I pass your method to my guild then? Because I’m sure I’ll never run with them.

I stop running fractals with my guild after they insisted that cheesing Archdiviner is “normal and intended just as 90% of the stacking case in dungeons”. Loss for words. Totally disgusted and disappointed.

I almost never play warrior in a pug. Got condis and ask for cleanse? -“Dude, swap out for Shake It Off and cleanse yourself.” For real? How?

P.S. Every time I see a missing support, one banner is removed from my utility bar and if I cant even keep banner of discipline, I’ll swap to my condi engi and people can stack might themselve. Me dun care.

The more I PUG the more I agree witih laokoko on this. Relying on a random person leads to disappointment no matter the profession. Best to bring everything you need for yourself. Been dead too many times because I assumed the guard/mesmer/thief/ele would do what they’re “supposed to.”

But don’t we talk about why we bring guard to a “zerker meta” group in the first place? For max deepz? Oh the irony.

The blue part matches with Ocean/ Enameled Sky dyes. The gold matches with Redemption/Daffodil/Illumination. Depending on the texture of your armor, they can be a tad lighter or deeper in shades.

Monsters don’t have fixed offensive stats. Not sure if they have separate coefficients for condi.
