I can’t explain it. There’s just something missing here.
It’s called growing up.
People change and things they loved yesterday now seem stale and boring. Not the game’s fault.
Wow.
It seems there always will be unhappy folks, unrelated to the quality of the game.
You can level to max in a week playing casualy – “it takes ages to level”
You can get exotics from TP for the reward of couple dungeon runs – “hellish grind for high-end gear”
You can ignore legendary, cause it is just a cosmetic skin, not some OP one-shot thingie – “mad grind cause I really have to get meself a legendary to play this game”
It is as if some people find their whole life purpose in complaining.
It’s more like “reward VS usefulness for your party”.
And this is where it becomes th real issue.
When some people do their best to have max DPS and survivability while others just have some crappy rares with MF, do zero damage, die in 1 hit and still get better reward.
Stats are 20-50% higher than comparable exotics. Yes, you do need them.
I like it how people state something basing only on forum rumors, instead of actual facts.
Then again, need for what reason? The 10% stat increase on 3 items (out of 12) is no way near something important And all content besides fractals is designed to be played without ascended items.
So if you like fractals you can just run them and get needed items naturally. If you don’t like ’em you can ignore them completely and still enjoy every other aspect of the game.
Yeah, account-wide levels would be nice.
Though new players won’t be able to do low levels.
But it only points out the issue in this whole level system.
What if I tell you, that you don’t need ascended items anywhere besides the fractals.
And if you wanna do fractals, it means you like them, means it’s okay to repeat them over and over.
And agony resistance is not that necessary to progress there. Just dodge and you’re good.
So again – people criticize GW2 without actual reason, just for kicks.
Nothing drops in the one dungeon they wanted us to do endless due to the age old and tired RNG system.
Really?
There is no RNG needed to get your exotics of any kind.
Karma and Orr gives you a nice boost upon hitting 80.
A 3 or 4 dungeon runs gives you another item plus the nice gold.
You can get exotic trinkets from TP really cheap.
Where is the RNG? Where is the grind?
I really don’t understand how people can say, that it is hard to get end-game items in GW2 =\
Sure, I like it.
There’re a lot of issues but we only talk about them because we like GW2 and want to see it improve.
“a bit” is a major understatment in this case.
.. the miss thing is getting out of hand now. not only is it in all cone attacks two weapons rely on that the most are ft/eg but now it seems that everything is having that issue.
The irony is, I’ve tried ele and he has a ft-like skill, but it can be used on the run and don’t have much “miss” issues.
So anet do know how to make flamethrower work. It just seems engi is not on the priority list.
Yeah, leveling is easy. And I like it this way.
It means I can spend little time on a game and still not lag behind the power-gamers.
I’m not a part of const-party, have a low online time and don’t log in every day, yet I still can go to any dungeon I want, have access to the best items and I am free to to do whatever I want in my spare time without the feeling that I’m left behind by other players who progress upwards through content.
It is a wonderful game system, really.
If it is an auto aim toolbelt skill it works flawlessly. If it is one where you have to aim it often misses.
This explains it then.
I was trying to use it with nades\elixir build, so yeah.
Thx for clarification.
Is there a way to aim static discharge?
I tried using it for some time and it always flew off to some random direction and to my target.
I’d like to see some polearms. Like halberds, bardiches, glaives, etc.
I don’t see a point in skipping mobs in fractals. Aye.
There is really few places where you can actually do it and they are usually have low numbers so it doesn’t matters anyway.
But in dungeons it’s different.
The majority of reward comes from boss chests and completion reward. So the point is to get to the end as fast as possible as it will give you a stable gold+tokens reward.
’nades Engi
2 Guardians
2 Warriors.
People don’t care about guilds because they don’t want to. Not because of multi-guild system.
Stop blaming the game for player desires.
If there is a lot of non-sociable people in GW2, then guild system won’t change them.
(edited by Isslair.4908)
The worst thing is some people get loads of fractal loot, from ring to vials and globs.
While others get next to nothing.
There is really something wrong with rng distribution there. As if all “special” loot for whole party is dropped only for 1-2 people in a party.
Same thing with mist vials.
I have only one from all my time in fractals while some people have more than 10 after lvl 5.
Ihope anet will look into it.
Well it is already kinda f2p. We don’t pay subscribtion.
Though I think anet should think of something to invite new players. MMO with low online gets boring real fast.
One can have almost all kind of pvp experiece in www already.
The only thing that is kind of absent there is high-level coordinated teams griefing and killing players who are not interested in pvp.
So yeah. Not gonna happen.
No, the level correction system in lower zones automatically takes care of this behavoir
Lvl 80 with full traits, skills and exotics is way stronger than regular player in levelling crap-gear.
You’re either don’t know about level scaling or just ignore it on purpose.
Feel happy. I don’t have any ascended items at all. Lol.
Dem risen mesmers everywhere.
So you’re against zerg in www but support zerg in “open world” (because that’s what open world pvp will quickly devolve into)?
I can’t understand this.
Played some games with such unrestricted pvp and didn’t enjoy it much. It all revolves around big zergy guilds who control vital farming spots\dungeons. And ganking weaker players, while running away from stronger ones =\
Oh, and don’t forget the sweet community which grows out of such sort of interaction.
Balthazar temple comes to mind.
Well I soloed all exploration in all Orr zones (beside the temples obviously) as an engi in lvl-80 rares.
It is possible. But it takes some deaths to do it. Some Lyssa altars are a real pain to do >_>
Stop saying it’s a warzone, for kittens sake.
The undead dragon is defeated, his necromancers destroyed and corpse supply denied.
Yet there are more risen in orr than there are in story missions.
It makes no sense at all.
1) Toughness adds to defence from items. So yeah it increases you eHP against direct damage, but won’t protect against conditions.
2) Personally, I don’t feel that healing power is worth it. It gives very little returns. Though I may be wrong about this.
3) Dodging is important, but also is kiting. If your enemy will waste time trying to move closer to you he won’t have time to actually hit you.
One-shot hits from champions\bosses always have some pattern and are predictable. So you should try to dodge them every time.
4) Currently Power+Precision+Crit damage are the best stats for DPS. You can add some survivability to your liking.
I don’t understand really.
Precision usually comes with power on items. So you’re shouldn’t be sacrificing raw damage for crit.
And if you just ignore crit completely and go for pure power it will give lower dps.
And also wants me to focus on survivability over damage due to their fights being supposedly highly mobile in nature (meaning don’t stand in one place for too long).
Actually, it’s the other way around.
Since we have a lot of ways to avoid damage you should focus on damage to kill faster. Well, this is from PvE viewpoint.

So everybody will run one easiest dungeon time and time again?
No thanks.
It is already too much cof. I’d prefer more attention to balance of different exp paths. Because now there’re “easymode” paths that everyone run and “hardcore\bugged” ones that are being ignored completely.
Yeah, doing dungeon with a competent group gives you very different and more rewarding experience.
With random low-skilled people it’s unenjoyable chaos most of the time.
.. there’s 2-3 other players in the area. ..
Yeah, good luck killing champion at the end of meta-chain with 2-3 people.
Good luck trying to complete Balthazar temple event.
Etc.
That’s exactly the problem. A lot of events are designed for really large group of players. But there’s like 2-3 people doing quests. All other are already in LA spamming “lfg xyz”
Is this a recent change?
I’ve never gotten a bl kit for daily =\
Guild won’t change a thing.
Most players will already have Orr completed or just not interested in doing useless things.
Flawed game design is flawed.
Also about #3
Since www is actually more like zerg-wars this name anouncement would be kinda stupid.
It really depends on luck who gets the kill when 50vs50 mob exchanges their AOE. There is no reputation to gain there.
Commanders are more than enough to feel yourself important.
This is really personal. I dunno how can you chose a class for other people.
I can only advice you not to choose engi. It’s a decent profession but it only “ticks” at high-level so you probably won’t enjoy it much at start.
Warriors are kinda op currently with great damage and built-in survivability and with powerful ranged and close combat options.
Meh, you’re still stomping low-level mobs in full-exo. And I really feel a lot stronger and able to survive some boss hits that kill lower level players in one hit.
But this only makes this whole delevelling system useless. Because if it is not working now, why having it in-game at all. Or anet could make it optional.
So player can either stay at his level but recieve no loot\exp\events in this zone or to delevel and “enjoy” content with newbie friends as it is now.
(edited by Isslair.4908)
GW2 needs cross-server lfg tool, underflow system for zones with low population, and some incentive for players to do lower level fractals.
These are the current pressing issues which are vital to keep players in game.
I doubt this will come awyhere in time.
To make things worse, the more time current fotm levels system exists the more there’ll be problems.
Even now it is absurd. Map chat in LA is something like:
“Person 1: lfg fractals lvl 6
Person 2: lfg fractals lvl 7
Person 3: lfg fractals lvl 8”
No one wants to do lower levels because they fear to be left behind and want to go up. And there is not enough players to lvl up easily.
Also, you need to be in overflow to have any chance of getting a group. And if you’re playing at night – tough luck. No overflow for you, means no party for fractals.
I ran fractals today at noon and got a full bag of loot.
Then I ran fractals after midnight and got hardly half of my bag. And then got 1 (just one!) masterwork item from grand chest in jp.
Was there some ninja drop nerf? Because I asked around and people seem to have similar low drops recently.
It seems FotM is actually a cruel plan of dragons to destroy all resistance.
While every hero of Tyria is trying to get into the new dungeon, risen are rebuilding their forces.
I really don’t get this Orr.
As of now, Zhaitan is dead, ossuary destroyed and arc-ships sunk. Why there’re still so many risen for kittens sake.
Orr needs remake since it clearly isn’t designed for current population dynamics.
Well if there was a similar pvp mode with creeps and stuff.
Currently in sPvP it’s more about your personal skill so this “majority” don’t wanna play the pvp in which you can’t blame every other team member for your failures.
In my experience it is actually much easier to find low-level group than a 10+ one.
And really, if you stood in LA and whined in map chat about how hard it is…
That’s the fate of all MMOs sadly.
New content goes live and old one stands forgotten.
With GW2 it is more dramatic cause of DEs and general abudance of group events in Orr.
I’m getting suppressed even if I type different messages every time.
It is as if there is some limit to how many messages I can type in the map chat per hour or smth.
Idea for cash shop: item that removes that restriction so you can spam all you want.
I do wish they would give mobs cooldowns.
The tried and proven way to fix this would be to make diminishing returns on CC.
But I guess this strange desire to be as far from WoW as possible makes developers to reject even the good ideas.
Constant CC from Risen\Inquest in Orr is frustrating.
Respawn rate is just meh. You can get used to it and at lvl 80 with good items you kill everything quickly enough anyways.
There would be no joy in leveling if everything would be easier.
