What is kinda annoying is that, I think myself and possibly (Not the pros here but I think at least a good portion of the community)
Runs zerker gear, zerk traits, decent sigils but not the insanely min-max’d optimal builds/classes that are necessary for record type runs. For example:
A group of friends might run 4 War/1 Mes CoF because its easy to form, not hard to coordinate, etc. A Guildie group might run 1 ele, 3 wars, and a guard, because it still works fast, even if not record runs.
With this patch, those wont even be viable anymore and we all will be literally forced to run record run builds/classes for each dungeon.
While some see this as a good thing, it does hurt diversity because even if we played 75% of the meta build while skipping out on a few things, it was still fun and decently fast. Now those runs will be garbo and literally everyone will have to run the perfect classes and builds to obtain the nice, fast, smooth runs they were experincing before.
*Disclaimer – This post assumes that builds ran by ALL classes are NOT meta, therefore the reasoning behind not hating certain classses even when they run a non optimal build.
Even without the holy trinity I still think when a group joins together, be it for a world meta event, dungeon group, fotm etc… they should work as a team, even if it is just random Pugs with assorted builds. It feels like a majority of rangers play their ranger as if it were open world, where you are solo without a team. Triple sigs, 1500 range, bear pets (Which cant tank since theres people meleeing so its not actually tanking, just doing bad damage). To me when people play like its everyone for themselves, its not as fun.
A ele ranging will at least drop water fields on me or fire fields for me to blast etc. A necro ranging can help me out dropping the wells on the mobs that im meleeing. A engi nade from 1500 range does the blinds, etc. Guardian scepter/staff, I just hope they are close enough if they ever decide to pop a stability or virtue to share it with me (Although some never do , guards are still valued), A thief range doesnt help too much but people generally realize thief can be insanely high DPS so they are turned a blind eye. Warriors, are forever grandfathered in as OP(Not saying its true but its generally accepted in community that warriors are good enough no matter what)
Rangers, even if they provide good DPS (Debateable but give them benefit of the doubt they are at least contributing “OK” DPS), is just DPS, nothing more. The bow provides bleeds and/or direct damage mostly. They have no “Spells” since they arent a magic user and “spells” tend to affect enemys and allies. They are a raw DPS/Condi class but are outperformed by the other types of DPS/Condi class: Thief/Warrior, which ive discussed why people like them. If they dont run spotter/frost spirit, it just seems like things are suboptimal, even if they are doing decent damage with a bow at 1500.
Ok lately ive been noticing unusually hit crit chance on my ele. I havent payed the upmost attention so forgive the lack of details and data but this is what I have so far:
So recently Ive been noticing, even without lightning hammer or precision food, but with a superior maintence oil and signet of fire my ele has been having absurdly high crit chance.
The other day (I run zerk gear, 20 in precision trait, sup maintence oil, sig of fire) as my source of precision. It was 72% without fury, 92 with. This was just while I was sitting doing nothing so It wasnt with LH, Banners, Spotters etc… Just plain
Then I notice later on I join a dungeon with a ranger running spotter and my crit chance stayed the same when I had spotter on or off, almost as if my character had it permanently somehow, i honestly have no idea. Anyway..
So then i did an AC, as you know downlevel can reduce stats, but I had my usual build, however the warrior ran banner of discp and i used LH and 25 stacks of accuracy, and I honestly forget if the ranger had spotter, maybe you can identify through the icons, but for whatever reason my crit chance SOARED. Is this normal even with all the precision buffs, and has anyone noticed a crit chance increase lately?
Maybe I just havent payed attention before to my stats but it just seemed a lil high even with that
I take it the 10 percent decrease did not take into account that the reason zerkers are effective is partly due to some of the 3 things in title…
sweet and spicy butter food, banner of discipline, and lightning hammer.
so its more than a 10 percent loss on dps because those things are converted also.
were weapons taken into account by the calculations of 10 percent or just armor/trinkets/traits???
-besides those 3 i cant really think of much else that grants crit damage, except in some cases possibly the warrior str. trait for axe dps. i hope trait line was taken into account
Not sure but since Axe was previously nerfed on warrior, the DPS buff will just make it either equal to its old damage, or possibly make it stronger, however if its a grandmaster trait in stength, youd have to give up berzerkers power and no one would do that
So poultry meat, which used to be like 1-2.5s has skyrocketed to 6s+
The herbed soup stock which waas like kitten is now 6s+
Lemongrass itself has remained the same
How come the bowls of lemongrass soup have stayed around 30s when the ingredients other than the grass itself, have gone up significantly?

they mentioned a few dragons during the bar movie. jormag, krak and 1 other. but mordemoth wasnt mentioned at all. was this intentional mislead or meant to dispel rumors it was mord?
i hope its krak because i will srsly make it pay for what it did to snaff.
I dont mind the changes but quite frankly it’d be nice to see this stuff in the patch notes.
Since there is no dungeon team , there is no group to write the notes. The head devs dont get a rundown on every change made so most likely the people who prepared the notes, didnt realize these changes existed because they were not gamebreaking, so it wasnt forwarded to the lead guy in charge of the patch. I do agree they should have notes, so please hire a dungeon team ASAP

Not the right wording. The Carrier doesn’t have meshes now, meaning you can shoot and run through it (which also introduces the bug where you can’t hit it with projectiles).
I think the reason why was to stop the mesmer portal glitch safespot inside but havent tried it since patch.
FGS Rush #4 now doesnt let you hit a solid wall, the rush continutes through the entirety of the carrier and outside. Since the carrier is “long” the fire field actually does hit 3/4 of it still so only losing a little DPS maybe? no idea but the thing is that now you will aggro the dredge in front of the car while before I could just fgs rush #4 the back of it without risking aggro.
Does anyone know how much DPS is lost if any since its a straaight line now?
A thank you note for making GW a better game. I think people have seen the difference between a map with an active commander and without. In WvW its the difference between alot of pugs staying on the map for more than a minute. In PvE its the difference between a coordianted map effort or people just farming for loot, not even trying to win.
It takes a lot of effort to organize things and it may seem like a waste when things fail, people wipe, or map chat gets filled with hate and rage comments. But some stick with it and try no matter what and eventually they get a crowd or have a good enoguh group to succeed. The ones who make serious attempts at commanding in Overflows and EoTM must be even harder as you dont have your servermates, but people you wont see again and way less guildies than a home map.

So I see that steps were taken to address the high price differental in making the Ascended silks (100 bolts of ssilk, 20 wools, 20 cotton/linen) because for the duration of the LA event the bags of supplies, drop Cotton, Silks, and Wool.
At first this helped drive the price down, and it worked when Silk dropped to a low of 1.5s. Then the next patch nerfed the zerg events and bags were less common, and look at that, prices are HIGHER than they were before the patch.
Good step at addressing it but they failed to realize that the lack of quick easy loot for scarlet, meant the scarcity of these mats again. So what was the point of adding it if the price was going to only decrease for 2 weeks, neato.
Things are just getting higher and its been a while, I already have 2 ascended armors + LOD etc, so its not like the ascended silks are new.
When will prices drop? As of now I usually buy enough mats for only 1-2 days worth, in the hope there will be a balance patch like the LA one where the supply can be increased and prices dropped. In the meantime, ill be doing 10 dungeon paths just to keep up my daily habit.
Logging on every day doing daily nets 600 karma. To think they want you to farm 500k+ karma by simply logging on for a few minutes isnt plausable. You literally have to farm karma if you want to stack it unless all you do is WvW

most people i know have a problem with too little karma, not too much and having no where to spend it. most people with excess karma are old players who have it saved up from back in the day. we need more ways to earn karma, then this would be ok. Right now, we need less ways to spend karma not more

As others have said, “Speedrun/Zerk” groups are a far cry from what some consider and/or expect out of an experienced, fast clearing group. Having “Zerk” armor isnt enough to make the run go perfect, contrary to popular belief.
Nono’s for a true zerker or speed run:
Do not run a speed signet (25% run speed). This utility is acceptble to be used during a skip or run part, but swap it out for something else for any part that involves fighting. I would not recommend it for trash running as Swiftness is superior to a 25% boost, but it surely is acceptable to run during a skip. I recommend Pot of Hylek Poison for classes without easily accessible swiftness or awareness of other classes and being in range of their group swiftness if applicable.
Never drop banner of defense as a warrior, even if all the other banners are taken by others.
Do not run the following signets: Ele water/earth. Any ranger signets other than Signet of Stone on select encounters. Dolyak Signet. Guardian 10 percent Damage reduce/wrath (condi)
Use a ranged weapon point blank in a stack. Shooting a target 1 foot away with a bow looks silly and you should recconsider weapon choice if the dungeon requires alot of stacking. If you like range that you would never swap your bow, try melee on the stacking parts, and swap to your bow if the encounter accomodates some ranging. Dont just stick to ranged weapons all the time.
Do not charge Life Sigil Stacks, Condition Damage Stacks or Momentum (Toughness) Stacks. Bloodlust and Accuracy are much perferred.
Dont show your defensive traits openly if you absoltely must run them: i.e. guardian using Strength In Numbers, Warrior having a traited defy pain etc.. Use things that the team will not be able to know and call you out on (I dont recommend this but it is reality as some people will not drop their defensive traits for anything)
DO use Constructive Cleave Positioning – Always target the middle monster if they are in a line . I I I If there is two in a line, spread out, deselect any target and position yourself in the middle of them.
Using Food and or/Oils isnt required but if your going to have one up, at least make sure its relevant. If you popped a Scarlet Oil for LA, you can pop a Undead oil for Arah. If you were too lazy in the first place, this bothers me less than the people too lazy to use it for the current dungeon,but used it on farming loot or something else.
Pulling Certain Bosses:
Pulling certain mobs/bosses in runs can be the difference of a smooth, quick kill with the team retaining their scholar bonus or a drawn out kill thats a hassle to hit the boss and/or maintain the stack without it turning into a disadvantage. I am just going to list a few examples and if this thread gets more than 1 reply or people care, feel free to add tips
Subject Alpha – Must be pulled good or he will start attacking/crystaling spire, and use his tremor aoe, hitting the team, making the team wait for him using up boon time and taking slight damage, removing their scholar rune bonus before he even comes into attack range. My method which there is probaly tons of ways, I hit him with a ranged weapon, then immediately ASAP run back to my stacked team. I do not hit, wait and then hide. I just tag, and jet back to the stack. Champ wolf, stack in corner, allow spire to hit it once, watch for the ice patch, hit the wolf, and walk back to stack immediately.
Leurent – If you have a confident exp team, move up to the second hug curve in the wall and pull. If you have low DPS and or low burst damage, goto the far curve which most people seem to do, as the boss and/or knight doesnt aggro well there and you can pull slowly rather than all at once.
Malrona – Dont charge in. Have someone use a knockback to push her into that back wall, then reflect till dead.
-There are some other points, im sure the list could go on for 100 pages like (no ranger longbow 4, no guard staff) Etc but I try to cover the things I see in common PUG speedruns, that aren’t gone over extensively on forums or maybe are less emphasized in popular postings.
I think the skill of the average player is fine. I’ve never run anything with people who are as bad as people here are pretending.
Most people dodge. Few people use consumables in PvE. But most use then in WvW. Frankly, they aren’t necessary to steamroll most of the content.
Your missing the point. Nothing is neccessary. Theres a video of a level 35 engineer, solo’ing Spider Queen from AC. There are videos of no armor dungeon runs. There are surely tons of videos of people beating hard content with no consumables.

We do it for efficieny, if everyone was like you, things would take 2x as long and even if your not playing for Min/Maxing and a casual player, spending 50 copper on a potion, and 1 silver on food, isnt really a big deal.
You can do anything, you can run 5 Longbow rangers and beat any dungeon. Again, should you?
Just because its not “Do this or fail” Doesnt mean its the correct way, especially when playing with others.
So theres a bug thats existing since launch that players are exploiting. Why its an exploit will be discussed later.
Issue: Monsters during “Farm” events, at least in Cursed Shore, such as Temple of Melandru Champ Spider,(Pentient Camp Pre) etc where basically alot of monsters spawn actually are killable, and lootable before the name of the monster even appears on the map (2-3 seconds before)
Player Abuse: This leads to engi’s spamming nades, ele’s casting aoe’s, guardians spamming staff 1, constantly to try and gain an edge on players who dont realize you can pre-kill monsters before it even spawns and encourages camping in the good spots instead of helping the event.
Its obvious on the champ spider in Melandru, but people have been doing this for all the big farm events. It also (People love this word) “Trivializes” the content, because the monsters dont attack you back, which means a zerg can literally either whittle down the monster HP to 25% before it even appears to do its first attack, or even kill it entirely and loot it.
How/Why its an exploit: During the linen farm in Fireheart, which noted players were banned for, partially was because when the waves would spawn, since the mobs were regular and level 65, they would be like 3/4 dead before they would even charge. The players were abusing the pre-kill method to 1. Outfarm newbs who didnt know 2. Make it so the monsters didnt even have a chance to attack etc.
I remember this happening ages ago. Its time to change it, or change the rules that pre-killing isnt an exploit because I have a feeling 25% of the people dont even realize this, but alot of people do.

It is about DPS. Just because your in party, using dps food etc doesnt mean your actually doing more DPS than the random person to the right of you. I know alot of the time he moves and his target disappeers, I take a while to re-target him, attack again and get into place etc, while the farmers will do that within 1 second, I take about 5-10seconds again to get my DPS Chain back into full flow.
A Zerker using ranged damage will do less damage than a PVT Warrior spamming 100b on him. These are all bad examples on tags. " I Do alot and I should of got loot"
A good example and comparision: Champion Risen Spider from Melandru meta. I have done a 35k 100b, 25k 100b, and bunch of autos to it, at the end, No Loot. No its not a bug, just other people out DPS’d me since they have their party and I guess didnt take any breaks while I ran to heal once etc. Even though I wailed hard, It just isnt enough compared to guys who have 100 percent uptime on their attacks on it.
Just use the suggestions to help maximize your chances at loot. However, those are not a guarantee on getting loot, you still must literally have 100 percent uptime DPS, and use good weps to qualify if you have some hardcore DPS/Farmers/Big Zergs/Partys of 5 to compete against.
Anyone who farmed Orr when GW2 came out on a popular server knows this, you used to kill mobs, the screen said +50 XP and you gained the XP from killing the mob, but it didnt drop loot. So it registerrs you tagged it, but so many others did a large percentage more than you, so it wasnt enough to get loot. Event Credit and Loot Credit are two seperate things
Its not backstab or he would have the revealed de-buff. He doesnt have a stealth nor Revealed buff meaning this was from a normal attack. No way thats real. The only big damage regular attack is Cloak and Dagger, in which case he woulda had been stealthed. If you think thats from a auto attack…Looks quite real though
This goes back to GW1, and it is true most defiantly. Its not a “Conspiracy”. They have told us multiple times, as you farm and play etc, you get something called “DR” or “Diminishing Returns”.
You can break some DR by farming diffrernt activities etc for random loot drops.
However for high tier drops and items, DR cannot be broken by just not playing it or doing other things. You literally have to not be logged in.
I know countless friends coming back and getting a great item the first day back, a week later they are getting regular drops. Its a good idea and needed.
The exact science of course, isnt known. But in general, yes this works to a degree
Sparkfly Fen was called Sparkfly Swamp in gw1 and Tequtal spawns in these lands. Mordemoth is from the swamp is my guess
I think more, Moredemoth = Swamp, Tequatal = Sparkfly “Fen” Aka Sparkfly Swamp in GW1.

srsly guys really? As a warrior, I inflict Bleeding/Vuln on myself from this because I have 100 percent crit chance and I have traits that bleed/vuln on crit. Also fire from my bow or auto attack bleeds with our rifle, do you hear us complaining?
quit complaining. i have EVERY tormented weapon possible in my HOM, going far and beyond the requirements and way more than most ppl and im just glad to see them in game. if they gave these for free it would be an uproar. If you were as pro as you guys claim you were, you woulda known you could farm armbraces in doasc and then u should have weps anyway from that

- Magg sometimes fails to trigger the event in the first devourer room. I had this stall out for me two times in a row once, even after dungeon was reset.
- Magg sometimes does not run all the way into the room for the flame orb collection, but stands back in the previous room; running to him here makes it harder as it is significantly farther away
The first part I have never seen but my only guess would be that someone didnt bring Magg into the room he needs to be in to start that first burrow event. If no one actually does this or knows he doesnt go into it automatically, thus the event will not start. Im going to say dont add this to the bug list because I dont think its a bug. Correct me if im wrong
The second part has a variety of bugs: Magg will only glitch completly, as in he gets stuck in a rock and doesnt accept the bombs anymore if you fail the Timed Bomb Collection and the explosion literally can knock Magg out of place. What your talking about does happen to, and though it should be fixed, this at least doesnt break the entrire instance

Definatley is Not a bug and/or exploit.
This is an intended behavior of the NPC when players fail to understand the mechanic they are trying to use. When I do it under a certain set of circumstances, he behaves as most players want him too. There is a multitude of reasons why it doesnt work sometimes and there is definatly more than 1 working way but there are many wrong ways also, especially when people dont understand why he teleports.
Its similar to how in COE P1, when you bring Spire to the room where you choose whether the Inquest live or die (The alpha room right before Bjarl), she dies in the golem room sometimes but will “Tele res” to the team if you go to a certain spot (A la same basic concept as CoF)
Also in p1, when you start the burrow room for Hodkings, he can die on the stairs in the traps. Again, if you goto a certain spot he tele resses, or the team can mope around not listening and he wont and you have to manually get him.
Similar circumstances, modifided to fit the challenge. But yea, Magg can be done the same thing and when its done right, he wont bug.

I dont think the event chain bugs ever get fixed really. This happens to temples in orr all the time. JQ has had Lyssa Bugged for 3-4 days now also. It fixes on a server reset/patch etc.
There used to be a game – breaking event that was patched up super quick. Wanna know why? It was profitable. The pre-event before you capture Pentient Camp, in Orr, used to get stuck progress-wise, therefore spawning infinate waves. These contained lots of t6/rare dropping monsters who actually seemed to have an increased loot table.
This is the type of event bugs they will Quick-Patch. Sadly I think the event progress just simply being stuck like temples, and/or CoE wont be touched for a while due to the amount of them
Agreed, It used to bug on me way back in the day even as Warrior when we were being Time Warped in which it would be impossible to deal any damage while I was inside of it.
However, on another aspect of this, Does it seem to freeze(bug) on the highest DPS in party, or a random member?
I know as a FGS ele, it does tend to crystal me semi-often. However, I dont know if party members get it, when it doesnt happen etc or even keep track. Does anyone have maybe any better ancedotal evidence on who he will target? Maybe the puller?

All you really dont know how to farm efficienty. Money in this game isnt in champs or vets. Its in regular mobs. Although most have been nerfed, there are countless examples of how farming regular trash white mobs, yields the most results quantitively and qualitatively.
Farms: (Nerfed now) – Most enemys die within 0.5-5seconds and drop better loot than champs
1. Lyssa (Union) – People were getting 250 t6 dust in 1-3 days farming these trash mobs.
2. Cursed Shore (Plinx/Pentient/Shel’s) – Farming risen for days nets rares, t6 venoms etc..
3. Bugged Event in Malchors – Farming random trash risen again for great mats.
4. Fireheart Rise Defend Event (Linen Farm) – Killing waves of trash flame legion for bags worth 3s+ or linen 7s+ per mob
5. South Sun Cove (With old 200 MF Buff) – Farming newb barracuda’s in water netting massive t6 scales.
Or you have
Champ Bag – Takes a decent amount of time to kill Champ, even with zerg takes longer than 1 trash mob – 1-5silver from box. Worthless bloodstone dust. Chance at maybe 1-3 t5 or 6 mats. Green item (Low chance at rare, Lower chance at a exotic, almost always worth 1-1.3G max)
