Last night In fractals I had a 21.000 ap guy repeatedly die at various parts more so than everyone else around 3-5k.
This shows actually that you are the new player, inexperienced and he was probaly the one who actually knew what he was doing.
If a team member dies, its the partys fault for not communicating proper tactics and using proper utilities. Its the classic Cleric Staff Guard saying, dude why are you guys dying as he does 0 damage or 1500 range bearbow asking why people die when the rest of the team is stacking, and he is ranged. The rest of the team is melee, and he is far out. The rest of the team is properly pulling, and he is scattering the pulls forcing bad tactics and causing the team to die.
Your statement speaks volumes about YOUR inexperience , not his
Tips:
Melee it instead of spamming 1 on a ranged weapon
Make a party, type lfg in say chat or just party random people. You dont even have to talk, its likely out of a large group you can get 4 to join
Use Zerker gear, as you should be anyway as its a world boss.
Use a 50copper or under food or potion to add damage
Use Sigil of Force and Sigil of Accuracy/Air during the actual boss fight.
Stack Bloodlust Or Accuracy in the pre events and moa’s
Dont want to do this? Then dont expect a reward for your zero effort when there are lots of people such as me, and many others who do all of these things and deal way more DPS.
Especially with ascended gear, the items you make friom recipies actually cost the maker more than it does to sell. with the tokens you can buy rares to salvage for ecto and/or exotics to forge or salvage. Then plus mats and it sells for like 1g.
Isnt there something they can update these with to add special because why even have this super rare recipie drop if it literally doesnt do anything
6. Escort/Open Arah – Arah is almost always open/defended and this great event with multiple stages, huge planning, epic mob spawns is never done anymore since Arah is never contested. This stems from forum complaints about Arah “Always being contested” pre-megaserver. Please maybe force an Arah closing due to Zhaitan, every “X” hours to force the Pact to open Arah because this is now wasted.
7. Champion Corrupter – I believe its corrupter, forgive me if im wrong. However, its the champ that “Chills” I believe. Its the one that casts “Whirlpool” on land, and pulls you into him, much like Grenth, causing instant death. This mob takes AGES to kill compared to other champs, and pretty much wipes 3/4 of map, including me and theres nothing you can really do. Anet changed it so the waves dont spawn until all vets/champs are dead, to stop farming, but this mob needs to be toned down, both in HP and in damage from Whirlpool. Ive seen it take over 1:30 over a 6 minute event to whittle it down and the event shouldnt stop for 1:30 just because this mob is OP. At least resume the other waves or nerf this guy.
I realize that CS is a hotbed of controversy because technically it used to be the best farm spot, and still is, if theres proper coordination. But a re-vamp of CS is overdue. It was amazing, it got nerfed to the point of abandonment and now with its re-surgence I feel its time to un-nerf some of the overreactions from the balance team from way back when. I believe Pentient is the perfect example of balanced event, although I do think it should have less vets personally, but would be happy if the others were more scaled to Pent’s difficulty. This area has potential to solve end game woes, like it did at launch, and be source for way more enjoyment than it currently is with some changes. It’s overdue and would be fun. No need to re-invent the wheel via Southsun, you have CS, make it work.
Theres alot to say about this area so ill try to keep it to a few key areas. This is how to make Cursed Shore enjoyable again or more enjoyable than it is now.
-If you played at launch you remember CS as a area that you could farm 24/7, events almost always happening, with tons of zergs farming regular (Non vet/champ) risen, giving TONS of t6 mats, rares etc. The amount of people who used to farm there is comparable to the amount of people doing a World Boss event with the Megaserver today(Ok slightly less).
This was nerfed in terms of:
Spawn times of farm events, Tweaks to events to spawn less mobs, Buffing of events to add Vets/Champs to farm events, Plinx nerf etc. After these, CS IMMEDIATELY was back to a dead zone, and then people complained on forums. Now insert Megaserver.
Current Day:
CS is seeing a -partial- revival in glory due to the Megaserver. I am so happy to see this but alot of newcomers are here and dont know the true potential of the area. However, due to this resurgance, I believe some of the old nerfs need to be changed and updated to reflect this, as they were made AGES ago when the game was fresh and havent been re-visited.
Problems:
1. Shelters Gate – WOW. Please Anet have a Dev watch this with more than 10 people. Its literally IMPOSSIBLE. No im not bad, No the players arent running bad builds. Its literally impossible when the Champ Corrupter spawns. Also the Mobs on the right (Non spiders) spawn way to many vets, and its literaly impossible to burn them all. The upscaling on this event is way too high, and not at all equal or on the same level as the Pentient Upscaling which I believe is pretty good (Although I would like to see Pent made easier, I believe its “acceptable” balance between Anet and Players).
2. Defend Jofast – Debateable. The Escort Jofast is a great farm event, however we only can escort if Defending her camp fails. The Defend Jofast camp is FAR too easy and it should be made way harder. Also after you escort Jofast, again, its near impossible to Secure her camp because 2 Champs spawn and they wipe the whole map. I dont mind since I want it to fail to escort her, but technically to be fair, I will say the Secure is way too hard.
3. Historian Fia – One of my favorite events, quick, easy, but theres no tell, please make the event notification on map bigger orange circle because its fast and in-frequent. If your not sitting at Shel’s camp, youll never see her leave.
4. Theres no notification of “Defend Arah/Grenth” events. Id like to join those but it relies on a player literally camping the WP and then stating when its up, then mobilizing people. We all know this is unreliable and the map top right should at least reflect something.
5. Plinx – It was severly nerfed which I dont think will be changed, but due to the starting point of it, being near no POI or WP, its hard for new comers to find and gather for the first event. Please add a POI or some type of marking so we dont need a commander tag for people to find it. The defend the perimeter event is boring, lacks enemys and needs a tweak but its been that way since launch so if not, oh well.
war/guard have ample stabo.
if your not a war/guard, you shouldnt be in the frontline eating earthshakers, stay back more.
engi cc is only other one i can think of that might be trouble if your not in frontline, so nerf engi is fine with me. otherwise, you might wanna rethink your positioning

Yea plus since downscaled dungeons, you do seem to do way more damage (Just in general) does this 5% vary or is it just a estimate?
Could 2 ascended 1h weapons do more damage than just 1, 2h ascended weapon since technically the rarities are twice?

This isnt about a specific dungeon but the community on this forums knows best about DPS and id rather have it answered here than anywhere else. I just need the answer, no need to provide math or super long explanation.
Question:
I saw some chatter post patch, vaguely, about something how now with certain Ascended things, a bundle item (Assuming this includes FGS/LH) will now give 5% more DPS as a damage modifier, while pre-patch it did not.
How do I gain this 5% increase. What types of Ascended do I need? Is it Armor, Trinkets, or just an Ascended weapon? Do I need to do anything to activate that bonus? Also, is it just because of the stat increases on ascended stuff or is it some wierd inherent rule? Is it only in downleveled dungeons? Does this only affect FGS/LH/FrostBow assuming I will never play an engineer? I really am blanked on how to get the 5% and just a short general answer of why it gives the bonus.

its asuran t3 , accound bound cuz its ascended, heavy armor. I want to give it to my guardian, but it says Race: Asura only.
so can i just go into wardrobe, change the skin to any ol’ non-cultural skin, and then will it remove the asura requirement so i can give it to guardian? or will it change the skin but because its inherently asuran culutural, keep the race req even though the skin isnt even cultural anymore
I dont really consider trash talk verbal abuse, and not sure if just 1 person reports someone for not even using a curse word if that would result in a ban. I would certainly hope not.
The “A” word is borderline because it is a curse, but its also not very extreme. I would think a warning would suffice.
If you ask them to stop however, and they continue harassing thats one thing but it seems like your just doing it to spite someone and that might not meet the terms. Review the ToS and make sure they fit the description against the rules

The thing about making trash mobs drop more stuff is then it just gets farmed with people not actually doing the dungeon in entirety, as Anet has said many times, The intended way to dungeon is to complete the dungeon in entirety. This is by any means however, skipping mobs, not skipping, etc, but basically the intent is for you to actually finish.
When in the past trash drops good loot, people just farm that part over and over.
TBH, Trash mobs do drop great loot, I think Trash isnt being used by the community properly (Not OP, literally the gw2 community.)
Example:
COE Stairs with risen trash. Orr was known to drop tons of t6 mats back in the day , pre pentient nerf, pre plinx nerf etc. Trash are fast, and drop valuable items, better than any champ bag.
However Elite (Silver) mob trash is what people hate. These drop the same items as their counterpart regular trash mob, but take like 10x longer and do way more damage. This is the bad trash mobs people hate.
Anet tried to balance trash by adding Champ Bags to reward and look what happened. Suprise, It got abused, and now its nerfed.
Same would happen if Elite mobs were buffed. Regular non-silver mobs are great and if you skip them its your loss.
Since the warrior is about banners (Banner of defense/str/discipline/tactics) it only makes sense it would be called War Banner over battle standard.
I know lore wise, battle standard is a common term and other MMO’s use the phrase battle standard.
However, warrior in gw2 has banners so it only makes sense. please revert the tooltip change back to Warbanner
Mace has long been nerfed. If you miss Skull Crack, its over. The problem is
1. Skull crack was given a long charge up
2. Skull crack glows and has a giant tell
3. Skull crack is easily predictable and is dodged or people move etc.
If you are amazing at landing Skull Crack, mace is viable. I however, have not had luck with it post-nerf.
Whats dumb is a melee hit takes longer to cast then a spell. Hilarous.

Inspecting gear is a part of games, not just Guild Wars. In Diablo 3, It has an option called “Inspect Gear” which you can see other peoples items, every last detail, and guess how many people used that on everyone who came in the run? Alot.
In GW2, Even if 25% of the population asks to show gear/ping, its not nearly as hostile as some MMO’s or games, because like I said, in D3, nearly 75% of games would gear check you, thats what I call hostile.
GW2 is the farthest thing from that
Sometimes when its 6 AM and im bored I go “bad pug hunting” and join the most noob/non meta dungeon run I can find and people watch. Its so funny the things they wipe on and do.
Usually at least 1-2 wont stack for the easiest of trash mobs, using single target skills ofc.
The 3/5 people wiping running to the first Subject Alpha being hit by Dragons Tooth, and saying “Wow im usually the last one to die”

Hi everyone, I am changing my WvW main to an asura from human. On my human I have full sentinel’s armor. I dont care about keeping the skin/rune, I want to transfer the stats to my new character. Is there any way? Sentinel costs 15g per peiece and I really dont want to just have to delete it and then re-buy on my alt.
Theres a artcle I read today with one of the gaming websites and it said it was to promote the feeling of meaningful changes, that small updates wasnt enough to achive that. I suggest you read through the forums or google to find it, I believe it was just posted today or yesterday, so dont look too far back

I got sunrise before they nerfed warrior, and greatsword into the floor. Since its completly unviable now, and has been nerfed for a while, I dont have any use for GS anymore. Also, the buffed classes dont use greatsword. So when I bought it, I had no idea that it would be a useless weapon that I cant use because Id be doing myself a disservice by running a horrible weapon.
So since it went from Best to Worst, I have no reason to wield it. I dont know what I can do with it now besides get a new one and I dont feel like I should have too, at least let us savlage the gifts back from legendaries, but maybe no the pre?
Id be happy with all my gifts back minus my Dawn. So id just have to buy a new precursor for my next legend.
Just go on teamspeak. This is the best way. You can listen to the commander, dont have to talk, but if you have questions during a non-battle, just ask in TS. It sure beats trial and error.
Basically if someone lists and item and no one else has bothered to list that item, just because its either not worth much or bad skin etc, they list it for 100g and just hope that someone buys it on accident. Worth a shot imo
Im pretty sure it was nerfed too. RNG is RNG but after playing a long stetch and now suddenly, basically the past month has definatly been way less. Since its been consistent lower, literally no good RNG at all and its never ever happened before im leaning towards nerf over permanent bad luck for this long
Axe hardly ever used in pve? Axe/mace are the only accepted weapons for warrior in pve. Zerker Axe/mace or GTFO. I like using a sword, but I can only do that in WvW and PvP, otherwise I get death threats by elitists for real. Funny that on my thief, or necro, nobody cares about my gear or weapon set, only for warriors it seems, and Axe /mace are the only accepted weapons.
After the patch the only accepted pve build will be 30/30/0/0/10 Axe/mace using the dual wield traits and no swap. That’s it unless they change the dungeon content.
BTW I know axe was nerfed, or changed, but it’s still the best weapon for warriors pve. Sword and greatsword are serviceable (but will get you kicked from most groups), Mace and Hammer are a mess (pve), and longbow rules the ranged category.
Ah yes, I believe I worded that part improperly and also probaly could of described it better. I meant axe is nonexistant for pvp. In PvE, yes its still good now, but alot of players, new ones/non meta runners love their Twilight. Since the thread is about running metas though, I should not of really included a complaint that new players do but doesnt affect meta. Sorry for the confusion. I guess axe wasnt effected that bad in PvE, and not as bad as the rest of the nerfs.
Ya, 1h sword is pretty fun and it works well in the mainhand or as an offhand, if the situation calls for it.
LB is still good, since your not supposed to use Adrenaline (To active Zerker Power Trait) in PvE currently, the F1 nerf wasnt effected much for PvE but just seems messed up since thats the “Burst” skill. Pin down is taking longer to cast which means a reducting in using the higher damage skills and Arcing arrow should at least recieve some compensation for the planned 10 or 15 percent DPS nerf to it (This is in addition to the zerker nerf so its taking 2 hits to clarify) – they should make it 1-2 secs less CD or arc faster but its been the same since launch, its not that OP that suddenly they have to change it this far into the game. Its a clear strike, like the other changes compunding this, to the PvP hambow build, a nail in the coffin but adversly affects PvE in a unfair way. If they want to nerf PvP bow, its inevitable but as you say, its been a staple of the good ranged weapon on a warrior. It shouldnt change now just because HamBow PvP build is OP. We need a middle ground compromise at least, nerf DPS but make it up at least a tiny bit. Even a crappy “Inflicts burning or vuln” addition to it, however minor, would be completly in line with lore and common sense of what the bow style is.
I remember in most MMO’s the mace is used as a weapon that breaks armor and by design is a heavy hard hitting weapon. The description “Crushing Blow” is very accurate, as that what a mace does, but the damage/amount of vuln isnt on par with what the phsyical design and representation of a mace has been. Mace has a history of being the weapon to bully the light or heavy armors into being weak for the DPS’ers to eat up after. It doesnt have to be huge DPS but it should have Weakness moved from the 3rd AA chain to the first and have CC along with the vuln skill.
O Warriors, how we have let the community at large make us nerfed by the constant barrage of (fake and inflated) comments that we are OP. This is my memorial to what Warrior used to be and should be. Remember, the meta for PvE speedruns only includes 1 warrior, are we really that OP? Also we are good WvW Zerg’ers but with the Hambow nerf + Crit nerf, warriors will be increasingly ineffective in small groups/spvp.
Feel free to add nerfs I forgot or unjustified nerfs:
Most Outrageous Nerfs – Unjustified Nerfs in corresponding order.
1. The Berserkers Power/Heightened Focus Nerf. (PVE)
- So having a trait go from 10 points, to 30 points is “balance” Thats an insane change and hugely different. It would be one thing if the strength traits were good, but since 10 points in strenth has horrible choices, the Zerker Power thing wasn’t called for.
2. Axe Auto Nerf. (PVE)
-Nerfed axe auto so people will have to use the entire chain to achive DPS. However most weapons you would not sit and spam 1 obviously. Almost no one uses axe in pvp and in pve, even if axe was more effective/as effective as GS, people still generally use GS over axe. Axe needs encouraging, not discouraging.
3. Longbow Nerfs
-The most outrageous was the Combustable Shot nerf. The Developers said that it was too easy to gain back adren, yet when the community showed that Combustable actually DOES NOT gain adren, it was ignored. If this was the reasoning for the nerf, why not revert it? It is disrespectful to not address that. Also the damage was nerfed before this. LB is recommended over Rifle in PvE and should be on par DPS wise. The upcoming Arcing Shot nerf (Which takes ages to cast and if the opponent stands in a slow arcing aoe shot, thats not our fault) is unjustifable as thats what made the DPS on par with a rifle. Also the Pin Down nerf makes no sense. How is dodging a arrow any harder than dodging a guardian scepter #3, or a thiefs trait that immobs, or the countless other classes that have immob. No one runs throw bolas. And hmmm Leg Specialist? Oh yea that was nerfed too.
4. Nerfs to Hammer
-The slippery slope that started has continued to snowball with no end in sight. First it was nerf to hammer by alot (23% Damage). We all know in PvE, hammer is very low damage to start with. Now comes Merciless Hammer damage nerf, WHICH we only started to use becuase of the initial change, to make up for the DPS lost. The fact that earthshaker never connects if your above elevation (makes no sense, it should actually do more damage from above) Is completly ignored, making this weapon ineffective since we all know GW2 has much terrain, which is cool, but not when your weapon is bad cuz of it.
5. Ninja “Empowered” Trait Nerf
-Went from 2% DPS increase to 1%, was not reflected in patch notes. If a warrior has defense traits, hes obviously not max DPS so why act like a warrior who invests in tanky traits is so strong. We are not guardians who can use Save Yourselfs to gain boons. If we invest in Lyssa for boons, thats a big decision. Otherwise its not like we have that many boons that it needed to be tuned down.
6. Rending Strikes worse than other classes vulnerbility traits.
-Other classes have no cooldown on their vuln on crit traits, so why do warriors have one? Warriors job used to be vuln inflicter with axe/mace/trait but now other classes can do what we do without any specific weaponset and better. It only makes sense a “heavy” armor with mace (known to crack armors in most MMO’s) would do more vuln then ele/thief FGS’ers cough cough
7. Mace Nerfs/Unsuspecting Foe (GS/-Mace Shield build)
-Although this stopped the ever popular GS/Mace-Shield, this just reduces build diversity to be forced into Hambow instead. Since this is inefffective in PvE and Zerging, Its a spvp/small team build. Therefore, the only viable alt is Hambow which honestly is just as effective. Shield is honestly a horrible weapon, and to have a build that uses it effectivly is great. (FYI – Offhand sword blocks just as long as shield but with a shorter CD). The increase in mace stun time was clearly a mistake, it should of been left how it was but with no nerf to the animation and time of Skull Crack.
Alt or Alts is more popular but toon is used second to that term. I didnt play WoW but it’s so big and influential, I can see why people still use that term, if indeed it is from there. It seems more fitting for Wildstar-like games to be “Toons”. Ive always called mine Alts, but sometimes saying “Alt” can be a bit confusing or unclear.
Its funny because every patch has actually nerfed the rate of gold income, people can farm less and less over time, yet inflation continues to skyrocket as if gold was easier to get. I can only imagine after champ bag nerf what silk/t6 mats will be.
With account bound legendaries I dont see how pre’s will drop. Rare items and forge nerf (Lots of precursors are made in forge from 4 rares) are going up and up, so making that precursor will cost people more, and in turn have them list the pre for more money which is completly justified since they spent more to gamble it. I sold a rare dagger the other day for 75s. OP.

We have been through many troubling times but the display of resilience and determination has been truly admirable. The story of a server being displaced from t1 and the #1 spot in seasons yet still plays for PPT over fights. The showing of remarkable leadership is one to be foretold and celebrated by all.
Do not let the other servers posts of emotion affect your perception or give sympathy. It’s psychological warfare, inflating and deflating PPT to appear weaker so keep up the pressure. Good work, stay strong.

They should add a non – hostile mode, similiar to the “Away/Online/Invisible Statue” window. This would put a white dot above your character designating yourself a non threat.
This is what happens when novices think “Ranged is safer than melee”. Unfortuantly if the gears are dropping, your doing it wrong. Melee it and it wont do that
ah ok well thats sad but i also read that you can put 4 pvp bags into the forge, and it gives a RNG weapon token. whats the diff between pvp and pve bags, because i cant get any pvp bags with glory since i have none. so can i gamble with 8 slot pve bags or something? i really need that longbow token meh
Can someone please please help me. So as everyone knows, the patch hits in few days. I have all ingredients to make this bow except “Longbow token”. I salvaged my 3 LB skins i had, but alas, no token. I dont have enough glory either for it. Whats the best/fastest way to farm PvP LB skins so I can salvage them and hope for a LB token. Or whats the best way to get the LB token. I dont spvp that often. Yesterday I did daily and it gave me luck and coin so no items there :c
To address the Engi mobility, yes we have some of the best mobility in the game
Engis are about 3rd or 4th mobile in game. Not sure if its the best. Swiftness is only a small part of mobility since alot of class can P-Swift , like engis. The real mobility comes from :
-Things like Fgs 3/4
- Warrior GS 3/5. Bull Rush. Sword Leap. Shield Leap. Warhorn.
-Thief (Inflitrators utility, sword inflitration, shadowstep bow, shadow trap, etc)
- Note: Thief has 0 swiftness or only small swiftness yet its considered #1/2 mobility rank, disproving your “Swiftness = mobility” thing.
-Norn Snow Leopard Form – Dash.
-Engi Rocket Boots (As mentioned)
Engis are good mobility, due to p-swift and rocket boots, but no where CLOSE to best in game. If you think ele fgs, swiftness is better than ele is 3 and engi 4. If you value engis stuff more than ele fgs, then engi is 3, ele is 4. I think everyone agrres that war/thief are 1/2 interchanged.
Every class is ranged only, if you use ranged weapons lol. Engi is probaly best bet but it just depends what you equip.
Honestly, this OP is probaly lying because if you care about effectiveness, you would go melee. Saying “Whats more effective pure ranged” is a oxymoron. So yes, some might do more dps or sync in traits but since your set on being a baddie, who cares anyway, just YOLO it on whatever class is your favorite. Why would you build a ineffective style onto a “effective” ranged only play.

Ive never seen someone say get off that AC unless you have mastery. Most people care about getting on a Flame Ram without mastery, but since Flame Rams are only good for tagging a gate, and not players, and heavys should man the rams, you dont really have an issue. Or how about bringing your own siege, dropping a superior arrow cart somewhere, and then you can use it without worry, and take it over anytime.
Tired of engi/ranger spamming on obsi sanctum from 1500 range where they are unhittable by ALL CLASSES except traited rangers/engis…so fair and fun
