This I like. Server loyalty rewards. Must remain on the same server for 1-3 years then a merchant appears and it becomes purchasable for heroics+badges. Maybe this could be our wvw legendary armor. Since loyalty to a server seems to be the hardest thing for anyone to do these days. It would take a year to get from scratch, so pvers cant whine about it being too easy for us. But those of us who have been on the same server for years can get it right away and are rewarded for our loyalty with out own unique legendary armor different from the pve set. It wouldnt even need any fancy effects. just give it the same skin as the exotic wvw armor but make it stat swappable and i’ll be happy.

The key is making each server set unique to make it something you have to work for and … STAY … to get.

Better still make it viral and have players submit designs for their server, have it voted on, then implemented. Engaged players, stronger community branding, win win win.

And those wanting the different pieces will have to invest years in getting them all.

In the interim three to six months is enough time to get to know a community and figure out your final home if you’re an obsessive collector.

None of the gear should have any stat better than another, but different look, unique to the server. And voted in.

The way the side keeps are underneath the attackers negates pretty much any counter trebs. Your friend must have got lucky with a PvD group using bad placement.

I find the cannons and morters in alpine have good use, especially inner. Its like they actually designed alpine for WvW, where this dbl sure feels like a repurposed map, as many have stated.

People tend to forget all about inner cannons on dbl during an attack on garri. They work the same way hills cannons do on alpine.

That said, don’t rely on non-placed siege. Use shield generators smartly.

This is the only thing I dislike about DBL. However, it’s compensated by the gates/walls being thicker — so it means you actually have the time to run to the attack. It’d be nice to have a system of portals between all the main keeps and towers, however; not a waypoint exactly, but part of an upgrade.

This is just wrong…… The East keep in DBL is easier to defend, however the garrison and west keep are much much worse to defend then their alpine counterparts. Even without all the possible exploit into all 3 keeps, inner garrison can be trebbed from NN, west keep inner has the uncounterable cataspot that everyone uses……. No-one can use siege to actually defend in garri/ west keep, therefore the only way to break a siege is to suicide rush their siege with decent numbers/ kill the enemy so if you’re outmanned, WK and garrison are essentially undefendable.

I have counters for everything. Including MaguumieBears.

The same matchup where FSP players were logging off during reset out of boredom , because they had 6.6 KDR ratio after 45 mins, which says it all about Piken as a “fighting” server these days.

Trying to avoid making this a matchup thread (sorry OP) .. but they were bored because they greatly outnumbered every single other server out there. To the point that people just didn’t want to play FSP because you’d go out with 40 (a reasonable size) and FSP would come wiht 80. It was the new Jade Sea server.

I’d say FSP is the best fighting server (at the moment). Some of Piken’s commanders no longer tag up after being obliterated by FSP a few times, then linked with them for eight straight weeks.

Tournaments were terrible. It drove large amounts of guild migrations due to the division lock-outs, directly contributed to the glicko isolation that occurred between NA tiers, and caused a lot of burn-out amongst the playerbase.

Because the GvG guilds have taken it over.

GVG guilds go there because no one will bother them on that map. literally empty. They’re smart.

So it’s being used and is popular. You have three other maps if it doesn’t suit.

I don’t recall seeing a poll on battlegroups. In fact IIRC the leak at the time wasn’t even about battlegroups, I don’t recall them being mentioned until Tyler admitted that they had been a plan at 1 stage.

As I said in my post, there was no poll, the leak came pre-polling that Anet implemented.

Had the news not been leaked and rejected by many, it’s quite feasible that they would never have used polls. The polls emerged after it became clear the direction they were going was wholly not welcomed.

It’s smart. And I have a lot of respect for them to be willing to scrap it in order to find a solution with wider appeal.

When placing siege, always stand outside of the objective and see if you can click on the AC etc. from the ground. If you can, then the enemy can.

I really wish Anet would address this. It’s pretty bad.

Are you hoping by posting it over and over again, you’ll get different results?

You need to point the finger at the guy who leaked it. Otherwise they may have gone ahead and implemented it without conferring with the playerbase.

I’m certainly glad they didn’t. For reasons stated in the thread I linked, it would have been a disaster.

EU isn’t the same as NA. The better tier tends to be silver, not gold. Most servers try to keep out of gold, lol.

I find it funny you complain about Mag. All they have is numbers. They outnumbered us last night and even spawn camped us (or at least tried lol). They are so squishy that 5 go down when I jump in with wings of resolve lol. It is all about how you fight them too. They had 3 decent size groups split off from their main zerg. We took out two of the groups with like 20-30 peeps. Then YB pushed from behind and we wiped. So as you can see without their numbers they really do suck!
