I went ahead and purchased the expensive $100 version of the expansion under the impression that I would get my 4000 gems instantly like I would had I just spent $50 on Gems, but no. It has been over 24 hours now and I have not received them. I put in a ticket with support but I’m pretty unhappy that I am waiting to receive Gems that I paid for.

That is unacceptable, had I known that I would have to wait for the Gems I paid for, I would have only paid $50 for the game and bought $50 worth of Gems separately, or maybe not even purchased the gems at all…

I want to know, when am I going to get what I paid for? This is unreal that I am even having to post on this forum about this or put in a support ticket – this 4000 gems should have come to me instantly just like any other gem purchase would have…

The lack of customer service we received last week made my final decision to not buy it or gems again.

On that note, my girlfriend and I each have 2 accounts and neither of us will buy it now. That’s $200 lost at minimum because Anet couldn’t even reply to our cries for help last week. That isn’t even counting the $20-$40 we would typically spend a month on gems.

I’ll correct you on this, FA does not love siege. FA uses siege because that is the only way to compete with YB siege. SoS does it too because of YB.

The Fort Aspenwood forum community has an long-standing policy on guild size (going back to 2012) for obtaining access to the Warzone sub-forum. Smaller sized guilds have been given access by consensus based on their leadership activities in-game. Among the small guilds that currently have access are Echo, FTF, CREW, PACT, THUG, WB, WS, and Drgn. There are additional small guilds who would be given access if they requested it, such as CC and DOJO, but the leadership in those guilds has never felt excluded nor unappreciated for lack of access.

I’m not them.

Either way, it was a good move for my guild and a breath of fresh air to be back on a server where the roaming was great again and people didn’t need 3+ people and AC’s to fight 2 people lol. Being excluded wasn’t the only reason, but it was the nail in the coffin.

We’re much happier on Maguuma, I still play my FA account from time to time, but every time I do, Yaks Bend reminds me of why I stopped roaming on FA.

The community on FA was pretty good, it wasn’t even the bandwagoners that turned it more toxic. It was people like Tyrion who wanted everyone to worship him for having no life and running a tag 18 hours a day every day to hold their place in T2. While I am glad he did it, no one forced him to lol. It definitely did not give him any rights to treat people like crap and become an elitist jerk to people. I liked him before he started acting like that.

If you’re trying to become more of a “hardcore” guild, you need to tell your guild that you want to become a more hardcore WvW guild and what that entails.

In case you don’t know what that entails, here you go.
1) Proper group comps (X amount of which classes, you can figure that out.)
2) Proper builds to go with those group comps. You can also figure that out with simple Google searches if you don’t know.
3) Tell them what classes you DON’T need or how many of which ones you do. Example, I generally tell my guilds that we don’t need rangers or thieves since they’re both near useless in larger scales fights. One mesmer is pretty much all you’d need, the rest you’ll probably want 2-5 of though.

You won’t “force” anyone to do anything, but if you want to force your guild in to being a more hardcore guild, you need to recruit people with your same goals.

A good leader will inspire people to want to be better at something, you’ll never do that if you think you’ll force anyone to do anything.

Once HoT comes along, I think WvW will turn in to EOTM unfortunately.

Too much coverage difference. Any T1 server would roflstomp in T2, and YB would be roflstomp’ed in T1. Next week, everything would be back to the way it was before.

Huge NA wouldn’t do any good to YB in T1.

Not sure what server you’re on or if you’ve seen T2 recently or not. FA had bigger queues at just about all times than T1 for months until it started bleeding out guilds. You might also not be paying much attention since YB just got a massive amount of transfers in from BG (4 or 5 guilds from what I hear), then TW from JQ and I think 1 from TC as well.

I’m kind of interested to see this next couple weeks outcomes. If YB gets to push hard enough, they could be T1 in a matter of a month or less depending on how hard they hit FA and SOS. Also depending on how hard BG gets hit from JQ and TC since they just lost so many guilds.

Nope, but you will be ran over by elite specs and have no way to fight them on even ground.

What a joke. None of the elite specs look like they’ll be very strong at all. For example, the Necromancer? That is a joke itself. The Reaper trait line is 90% garbage just to be able to wear a GS and have to be in melee range to fight people. My necro being full zerk axe/dagger and dagger/focus will be incredibly stronger than these GS ones because I’ll have Spite, Soul Reaping and Blood Magic at my disposal and won’t have to lose one just to wear a GS.

I can’t speak much to the rest of the classes because Necro is the only one I bothered to look in to. I can pretty much promise that I’m not going to have any issues fighting these with my Necro or Guardian because their builds are already solid. The only way Anet could really improve my Guardian is to give it a permanent 25% movement speed bonus.

Turned WvW in to a PVE zone where ktraining is the only viable way to play. I think it is only fair to allow me to go roam around PvE land and kill people trying to do their map completion.

Special PvE event suggestion. Turn all PVE lands except main cities in to PVP zones so that you can ruin PvE game mode like you did to WvW with the PVE Golem event.

Make it last for a whole week too, and don’t reply to any posts that anyone makes about how upset they are with the event and how it completely ruined their game mode. Oh and don’t fix ANY bugs that come along with it, patches interrupt the fun. I’d definitely buy the expansion if this happened.

The grass is always greener on the #1 NA skill server. If Mag can get some Oceanic guilds, they’ll be able to compete with T1.

Totally.. Since Maguuma generally only queues 3 maps during reset (all very small queues) and generally 1 map during NA prime every other day of the week. If you think Maguuma has to coverage in NA, SEA or OCX to come close to Tier 2 coverage, you’re mistaken. We may have tier 2 EU coverage though when Xushin or Nacho is on lol.

I’ve personally transferred 8 times in the past 3 years I believe. I’m not pained by it at all, I go where the fun fights are.

Also as a side note to this, this is also the reason I transferred from FA to Maguuma months ago. The fights became negative fun there, Yaks Bend ruined tier 2 by sitting on siege all the time. I would go get in to a 1v1 and no one would fight unless they were 10 feet away from a door they could run in to. Then, I’d be fighting them and some scrub would get on an AC to interrupt my 1v1 lol. I’ve had this happen where I was in 2v1 situations, already out numbed, then some scrub gets on an AC to turn it in to a 3v1+ AC.. Tier 2 is cancer.

I suggest you transfer up to a different server, DiscoJacen. The unfortunate thing about the population imbalance is that you’re going to either be transferring around servers a few times in your life or you’re going to be sitting on a dead server that everyone else transferred away from.

But they should call it “Zerg” wars or “Blob” wars.
Because WvW is mostly ment to blob and run around and capture stuff and sometimes fight a enemy blob.
And then we press 11111111.

That is a very Anet mind state ya got there. That is why they think that WvW players are “really in to PvE” – because there is such a large population that just runs around pressing 1, which is pretty much all PvE is anyway.

My play style in WvW is running around solo or with 1-19 other people depending on the day or guild I am running with or driving that day. I mostly do smaller stuff where I’m running 2-4 people, we don’t ever just press 1 lol. When I’m running 15-20 people, I’m still not just pressing 1 because we’re generally zerg busting and taking on groups twice our size.

But yes, the mindless karma train zerg rather it be in PvE, EOTM or WvW can get away with just blobbing and pressing 1, but that is not what everyone who plays WvW does or wants to do. Anet should take notes.

FA is having an implosion like everyone has expected them to have for the past 9 months or so. Bandwagons pretty much always break eventually.

They aren’t going to ban anyone for it just like they didn’t ban any Guardians for abusing the Symbolic Avenger bug or the Engineers that one shotted everyone with Grenade Barrage before they fixed those lol..

If you paid any attention, you’d know this. Just do what the majority is doing, don’t play the game until this idiotic event is over.

When I did log in, it was only for my daily log in reward. I did some fractals on my alt account because I’m really in to PvE according to Mike. I found out he was wrong though, I’m really not in to PvE as I was able to confirm to myself by trying PvE again.

So basically, I spent some time away from the game. It gave me time to decide to not buy the expansion and I’m currently looking for a new game to play. The lack of response to all of the WvW players cries for help was a major turn off and I think that a company that does not care about their customers is a company that I will not support.

Wake up, go in to WvW and see how many people are in there playing this week. Most guilds cancelled all of their raids for the week, servers like FA and Maguuma are ghost towns in WvW in every map lol.. So many angry people, the only thing a lot of us are just logging in for dailies then playing other games or going outside and getting a tan lol…

Suppose now is a good time to start packing up and moving myself and friends to a different game.

I’d love for them to do statistics on my account to see how much time I spent in PvE minus my afking in LA vs my time in WvW. I have close to 4000 hours logged over the past 2 and a half years and am WvW ranked around 2300 right now and I roam with a small group or solo more often than not. So it isn’t like I went around ktraining for my ranks.

I can guarantee that 95% of that is spent in WvW, 5% between AFK in LA and map completion on my guardian for my Twilight since they love to shove PvE down your throat if you want shiney things.

Take a good look at Fort Aspenwood and Maguuma right now. They’re getting destroyed in PPT in their matches when they normally win their matches or come in a close second place.. Why? Because almost all of their WvW guilds won’t raid this week because of how stupid the event is and how it has made it pointless to try. Both servers are filled with WvW players who only care for WvW game mode.

EOTM crowd is mostly PvE crowd. True WvW players don’t care for EOTM and don’t do it because ktraining is boring..

That update is not beneficial to us. They didn’t care to read in to our feedback and they’re essentially turning WvW in to EOTM because they don’t know what we want since they’re not reading this forum.

100% agreed with all of the above. I guess I’d Anet answers their whole WvW population, Mike might end up eating his words and being right about no one playing just one game mode like WvW because we will all find different games to play.

I doubt you’ll miss my $20-50 a month I spend on gems, but it adds up and I know WvW players that spend upwards of $1000 a month in gems that are considering moving on to other games due to Anet neglecting the WvW player base.

This has to be the largest uproar in history about any event Anet has done.. Yet they don’t care lol. Maybe if we were unable to buy gems or didn’t like the details of an outfit we would get a reply lol..

I’m on strike from buying gems and refuse to buy the expansion until they start caring about WvW players and what we want for this game mode, I suggest everyone does the same.

I’d venture to guesstimate that probably 50% or more of players running around on foot are using the exploit Golem “+100% damage to players” buff.

Attached screenshot shows a thief striking for essentially 35k damage in five hits; this burst isn’t even remarkable. Warrior volleys are hitting for 20+k, ranger rapid fire can hit for 30k, etc etc etc.

This is out of control and the lack of response or even acknowledgment by ArenaNet regarding this obvious and broken exploit is a slap in the face to the WvW community. If we are stuck with the gimmicky golem changes, is it so much to ask that at least the golem buff EXPLOIT be addressed?

Tank up. My full zerk ascended necro hits people for 10k+ life blasts pretty often. That is without this stupid event lol.

Anet doesn’t read or acknowledge this forum. It was a good read, but anyone reading this probably already knows and agrees with your points. Unfortunately, Anet is not amongst those people since they don’t understand the WvW player base. It is like we’re speaking a different language lol.

I was solo roaming a couple days ago and found another solo roamer. Much to my surprise, the other solo roamer was in an omega that hit insanely hard and moved faster than me so I could not even get away.

As a person who solo roams very frequently and rarely loses a 1v1 fight, I find this event to have completely destroyed my game mode. I don’t like PvE, its only purpose is for farming gold to me. I don’t like PvP because I don’t have any build diversity and all of the ascended gear I worked so hard to get does nothing there. Amongst other reasons I don’t care for PvP..

WvW, however, is a much different game mode than PvE and PvP. I get to wear my PvE gear and fight people in a large area. I can ninja objectives and wait for the fights to come to me or I can go pursue them. It is a very happy medium for me, until this idiotic event.

Now I’m taking a break from the game to do other things since the game is no longer fun for me. I’m also rethinking if I will buy this expansion since Anet clearly does not listen or care what WvW players want. I imagine these new maps are just going to be another EOTM that almost all true WvW players hate. The only thing Anet needs to know about EOTM is that people do it for the levels and money, not sure how many people enjoy leveling or farming, but I know I don’t.

It is really funny that we’re 16 pages in to this thread, not including the other threads that the mods didn’t merge in to this one yet – yet we still have no reply at all..

The WvW forum is flooded with people saying to turn this stupid event off. Hilarious that Anet isn’t replying to anything since they know what is best for our favorite game mode.

Again, not inspiring confidence in this expansion that will likely turn WvW in to garbage like this event.

Necro is the best roaming class in my opinion. I wreck mesmers all day on mine.

I didn’t read your post, but I read the title. The answer is “probably not.” ANet has traditionally not cared about WvW or its player base at all.

Can’t buy Gems? Anet will answer you within an hour. Can’t get into WvW? You might have to wait 4-5 hours.
