Their composition is pretty far from overpowered so dunno what you guys are whining about, also stacking boons has been meta since the game came out. “Boonshare” specifically refers to mesmers and normally involves stacking quickness/resistance.
I will agree condi is boring to watch nowadays so I suppose streaming/recording is kinda ded. Was gonna look for you guys last night XT but we were pretty fat.
It would be a lot of fun to try to fight you guys if we had even numbers. Your group comp is a lot better than ours generally from what I’ve seen before. We generally never ran any condi builds, once in awhile one of our revs would run a condi necro but he prefers the rev these days. Also glad someone else understands what the boonshare deal is – so many groups run the mesmer boonshare meta, we don’t even do that lol.
A group on comms alone nearly doubles the effectiveness of the group. Besides boonshare with a Tempest, Guardian, Warrior, Scrapper, etc is meta. Throw in Durability runes and boonshare happens auto-magically.
The “whinning” is that someone posted a vanity video of a fight they should win.
I wish I was streaming comms for this fight just so you could see how much it actually helped us. The entire fight, all we were saying is “wow how are they so bad?” and laughing. I call targets in game and that is how we focus. Usually with a 6 man group, if I call a target, 3 of us focus that person while the other 3 are essentially just doing what they can to find squishier targets so that they can call that target next once ours goes down.
We had fun, we posted a video of our fun. If you don’t have anything nice to say, you don’t HAVE to say anything lol. I won’t stop you though, its the internet, you’re entitled to your opinion.
Meh this has happened before, it’ll happen again, even to your own server. You had like 20-25 kills, with over half of them being singles 6v1’d down. Ain’t knocking it since that’s what a lot of the smaller organized groups do, including my own use to, go out and get into fights like those.
You also had boon sharing going on the entire time, which probably won’t get much respect, it puts organized groups over the top on unorganized pugs, along with ts and target calling. Which isn’t your groups fault, just anets for not doing a better job with balancing.
Also, when did t2 get so salty with the siege burials, geez that use to be a mid tier thing.
That is the state of roaming, fights like this are about as good as it gets most of the time. The boon sharing stuff is just the 2 revenants sharing might, fury and resistance for the most part. My warrior gives itself a lot of resistance on its own with berserk stance as well. I don’t know what was with the shame siege at the end there but it was the icing on the cake which made us laugh even more as 15+ of them sit in the camp so proud of finally killing the 6 people after we farmed them for 5 solid minutes without us resetting or having any time for our cooldowns lol.
Still a 6 person group, I haven’t counted but we probably got 30+ kills in that 5 minute fight. We also didn’t take the camp, we finally got wiped before being able to lol.
When we run five deep it generally takes 10+ to even make a dent. Even then they better be pretty decent players. Between our Tempest and Guardian running Durability, it takes a small army just to drop those two and the buffs, fields, AoE flying off them just grinds most builds down.
The videos are hardly worth posting because unorganized roamers running solo builds rather than skirmish builds just aren’t a real contest nor are they meant to be. I think that is what most on here are reacting to… a video of a skirmish crew on comms hitting roamers.
I posted the video because it was a fun fight for us. The issue that group I fought had was that so many of them wanted to focus me, which is silly since I have 31k HP and 3.4k armor as well as two invulnerabilities (one from trait, one from defiant stance) and a 30~ second long resistance from berserker stance. It takes a lot to take my warrior down.
I don’t think the group we were fighting were roamers to begin with, they were people simply trying to defend the camp and their numbers kept growing throughout the fight as they were asking for help in map chat. Again, video was shared because it was fun. Even finally dying in the end was fun.
Yep, it is incredibly over powered and has been for a long time. People are just noticing it a lot more recently and playing dire. I’m praying they nurf it soon, it doesn’t need removed, but it needs nurfed badly. Condition damage should be effected by crit and ferocity and should have less effect based on toughness of the enemies. Dire should essentially be the same as Soldiers in viability.
well you should post this video on that “condi qq” thread in pvp forum, directed to the person of umbra noctis if possible. Just to show him how forgiving is condi play style, with some good example of defiant stance activated while having lot of condis on you and… berserker stance active!!! Or just to show him and all the people defending condis how you can win fights like this while missing 3/4 of the attacks XD or using headbutt while blinded… something that if you would do while running any power/precision/critical combo stats would result in an immediate lost.
Aniway guys i’m not blaming you, its not your fault if anet allow and promote this kitten… you are forced to run condi/boon cancer since if you run zerker, you would have gone down in less than 20 seconds against those numbers
Agree with most except the last part about running zerker. Both of my necros are full zerk, both revs are a mix of zerk/valk and cav, engi is full zerk, my warrior is running full dire.
I didn’t bother reading people’s replies because I have no time lol.
People want ANET to play their game mode so they can know what we, the players, want. Then when they play the game as if they’re any other people, people complain???
Get real man. It isn’t unprofessional for them to play the game as we would, it is actually really nice to see. You should be thanking them for making their presence in WvW known.
The stuff on your screen looks bigger than usual. The circles around the camps looks bigger and it appears you move faster as well. What kind of graphical options did you use to get this?
It’s because I play on a 720p 42in LCD. I need to get a 1080p one but I’m spending all my money between building a race car and planning my wedding lol.. Eventually though!
For your viewing pleasure.
I have a power roaming build and a Condi roaming build on my website. The condi one is just insane and needs nurfed badly.
Thief Mesmer Druid salt is real lol
Except I’ve never have any issues beating any of them on my ele lol. The roaming meta of garbage run away builds is boring, people realize they can’t win and just run – which is still losing lol..
Oh no people don’t roll over and die to you they must be bad
If they can’t fight, they’re bad. I didn’t say the need to roll over and die. What is the point of roaming if you can’t fight? lol..
You’re looking for a dueling server. Resetting and waiting for more opportune moments is definitely part of roaming.
By “more opportune”, you mean backstabbing while they’re fighting someone else because you can’t beat them yourself lol.. Sounds like you’re the person as a kid that ran away from fights and came back with a bigger brother and jumped a person because you couldn’t fight for yourself.
I win 2v1s frequently while roaming, 3v1s are a big challenge to win but it has happened. Anything more than that, might as well either run or lay down. You won’t see me running from a 1v1 ever. Anyone who does is garbage.
Mm personal attacks c:
Don’t be mad cuz u get out-roamed all day Mr. Cele Ele. Maybe if you speced for mobility and damage like all these “runners” instead of good old cheesy bruiser Ele, you wouldn’t have a problem bursting down people before they escape.
Btw I’m down for 1v1 whenever on my main account (this is alt)
You’re welcome to PM me when I’m on and I’ll happily 1v1 you or anyone else if you want to meet up in guild hall or something. My ele actually does plenty of damage and isn’t generally full cele, its usually a mix of cele and marauder. I have no issues with burst, but when thieves stealth and just shortbow5 away, there is no catching them no matter what you’re on unless its another thief lol.
Revenant begs to differ. Am a rev main.
Edit: also idk about you but I’m relieved when a thief has shortbow over staff. Staff is far more of a threat in a fight.
So far a revenant is the only thing that has defeated my ele build, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that was able to beat me. As far a thief threats go, I’ve yet to fight a thief that was a threat in a 1v1 at all really.

I;m actually choosing my necro over my ele when in the beginning ele is all I would play. Elementalist was my 1st character from launch, was always my go to and was my favorite. Anyways, this is just one persons opinion.
Condi meta in PvP makes playing your necro more worth while. I don’t play PvP anymore because they removed my celestial amulet instead of just nurfing it like they should have done. The conditions in PvP are absurd and its not even fun to play right now because of it. So I’ll just keep playing my ele in WvW where its still a lot of fun and might return to PvP one day when they decide to nurf conditions into the ground.
came back and Bought HoT a few weeks ago , tackling fractals and solo Content with my necro .. now im looking towards WvW again but my necro build is all out melee for Solo Content, and i got a full trinket set of celestial flying around unused.
So any fun/useful class in WvW that could make use of Celestial stats ?
Elementalist for roaming is near godly in celestial. http://asphyxia.tv/wvw-roaming-elementalist/

Ele is still the overall #1 in my book. Gets mobility from Fiery Greatsword if you need it, has good burst with overloads, great tankability in Celestial gear and if you know what you’re doing with combos, you won’t die easily and you’ll win most 2v1s.
Thief is good for roaming if you’re a garbage player and just want to run away from anyone you can’t defeat in 3 hits or less.
Ranger is so easily countered and just runs away if they start to be countered – more garbage player stuff.
Condi mesmer and condi thief work well on bad players. You can literally just walk away from a condi mesmer or condi thief and it not matter. The only way they can beat you is if you hard commit or don’t know how to manage your condition clears well. Once they blow their burst and all of your movement cooldowns (blink, shadow step, steal, etc) trying to get you while you walk away, you simply turn around and burst them and the fight is over.
Revenant is good if you have 2+ for roaming, it isn’t very good solo in my opinion.
Engineer is pretty good from what I’ve seen, but I don’t play it to be able to say anything of its greatness.
Guardian can be great for roaming solo or in a small group with the right build. The only thing it lacks greatly is mobility, it doesn’t even have a good source of swiftness unless you want to run staff, which is bad for roaming.
Yes katniss Meta ele in cele ….. It´s one of the OP builds why cele was removed in sPvP :-)
It was a lot stronger in PvP than it is in WvW because of the overwelming amount of stats it gave across the board when compared to the stats everyone else had. Realistically, Anet didn’t NEED to remove cele amulet, they just needed to nurf to cut all of the stats down about 10-15 points – then it would have been more balanced.
I don’t think its necessarily OP. I’ve seen people lose fights with that build pretty easily. A person who knows how to play it well won’t lose fights almost ever, but if matched against someone who knows how to play Rev or warrior really well, they may lose.
Josh’s build looks good and I might try it. One question I have is how you deal with running – without Shiro, you won’t be able to run very well if things go badly. Mallyx does have the jump skill, but IMO it isn’t enough to get away from very fast runners (thieves, warriors, druids, etc) even when paired with other mobility/blocks such as staff 5.
Short answer is that I just don’t run well lol.
Longer answer is that I sacrificed mobility for survivability. More often than not, I don’t have to run unless I’m about to get blobbed down and even then, if I don’t have a target with shiro, I can’t run well anyway. Since ANet removed a lot of the PvE mobs in WvW, that skill doesn’t seem as great to me. It is fantastic for CATCHING someone, but I don’t think it is really great for running away, especially since they recently nurfed it to cost 35 energy instead of 20 (i think) like it was.
Your answer here: http://asphyxia.tv/wvw-roaming-elementalist/
Also the person who said I was thinking about axe offhand was correct. I did try out sword offhand a bit over the past few days and I didn’t really like it as much as I liked shield offhand. Both are perfectly viable for roaming, I would say shield is better for larger group play but sword may be better for roaming.
I think I’ll stick with shield offhand personally, might switch it up ever once in awhile. I do like the pull and the immobilize that are on it.
I think we miss lead. Josh ’s build is mid field for group. For Kai and Jack, I think depend on case. if yr style is pull and kill sw 5+2+3 are good ( pull to center). or lock till group arrive sw4+4+2(lock and chill).
fmo I wonder why Josh use sw/sh , not m/sh coz thier his build set for mid-field. mace may lost evade skill( sw3) but can support group damage from mid range and combo field.
I run my build midline for group play as well as small man roaming play (5 or less people generally.)
I’ve been running this (just with cheaper food & utility) after boosting a Rev to see what the class is all about. Never been keen on root in place skills, and was wondering how well Staff would work here in place of Sword+ Shield.
Staff works well as an alternative. I prefer sword/shield because the sword autos, sword 2 and sword 3 do a ton of damage quickly. The shield 4 giving protection and regen is great. Shield 5 rooting is pretty bad, I don’t like that, but it has saved me in fights where I got pushed on and had no other way out. It seems like the Guardian’s Shelter if it rooted you in place and healed for less.
I liked staff, but I still prefer the sword/shield. I’ve even considered playing with sword/sword for the pull but offhand sword seems more like a condi weapon.
Sword offhand isn’t a condi weapon. It’s more of a control, power weapon. You’ve got a mobile block and an immobilize attack on 4. Then you have a Fury-giving, backwards shadowstep pull on 5, which needs some serious overhaul imo. Unless you consider immobilization and pulling a condi, there is no condi anywhere else on it.
I think I was mistaken with something else.. I thought it had torment on it. I might give the sword offhand another shot.
Get Herald unlocked. Revenant is really not very good in WvW without it. Once you have it, try this out: http://asphyxia.tv/wvw-roaming-revenant-build/
Just keep in mind, with proof of heroics in WvW, you can unlock an elite spec pretty fast. Its also pretty easy to get the hero points in the new maps if you just follow a tag around. I’d definitely focus more on getting the elite spec than trying to come up with a workable build that doesn’t use it.

Bumping this up for visibility, some builds updated. Same links as above.

I think if they ran, they didn’t win lol. Maybe it isn’t necessarily a loss to them for having to run, but its definitely not a win if they run away. If running away was winning, then I can just drop a fiery GS and win against an 60 man blob right? lol.. Not good logic in my opinion.
Running away from a 1v1 is admitting defeat to me, anyone needing a full disengage in a fight lost in my eyes. It doesn’t matter how many times a thief tries to go in on me, they’ll either get downed or they’ll have to run away when they realize they can’t hurt me.
Again, it depends on who you ask and how you define things. If a roamer runs into a 60-man blob and manages to disengage and live to tell the tale, then in my eyes, yes, the roamer won. He succeeded in his goal to survive. On the other hand, the 60-man blob intended to kill the lone roamer but failed to do so.
My logic might not make sense to you. Likewise, your logic kind of bewilders me. The objective of a 1v1 fight is to down or kill the other player. I can understand the runner not being the winner of the fight, since he failed to kill you. But if you can’t catch and kill the runner, then why should you be considered the victor if you didn’t fulfill your objective either?
Let’s say you went roaming one evening and all of your fights ended with your opponents fleeing. You were unable to catch any of them. In other words, you did not kill a single player; all your enemies exploited your lack of mobility and chasing ability. I assume that would be a successful evening in your book?
So if you get into a fight with someone irl and you punch them so hard they trip over themselves then they decide to run away, do you win? lol.
Like I said, may not be a “victory” but it certainly isn’t defeat if I get into a fight with someone who runs from me. By your logic, thief wins every fight since they can just use the bad game mechanic that is their mobility and ininitely shortbow5 away lol.. Not a win when they do that, thats admitting defeat.
If you’re looking for a build, I have a few depending on how you plan on playing here: http://asphyxia.tv/builds/
Please no…….
Imagine this, omega zerg with nomads guardians running around behind them repairing them………….
That is what I consider a win. If someone runs away because they realized they aren’t going to beat me, that is a win. If I downed/killed them, that is a win.
Everyone seems to have their own philosophy when it comes to roaming. Killing your opponent is a win for sure… but failing to deliver the killing blow and letting your opponent escape? I don’t think I could ever consider that a win. Honestly, I would give the win to my opponent because I know exactly how satisfying it is to escape from my opponent(s) and deny them a kill.
I think if they ran, they didn’t win lol. Maybe it isn’t necessarily a loss to them for having to run, but its definitely not a win if they run away. If running away was winning, then I can just drop a fiery GS and win against an 60 man blob right? lol.. Not good logic in my opinion.

You’re telling someone who has been roaming primarily since I started playing the game. I know that it is more than 1v1s, and I fight outnumbered all the time. I win 2v1s frequently, 3v1s are a bit more of a challenge – it would need to be 3 bad players lol. But I promise you that someone having better mobility isn’t going to be the difference maker. Their ability to run away from me isn’t going to win them a fight. I do 2v5s with my ele and a friend on revenant and win pretty easily pretty often and thieves are just easy kills for us lol.
What I meant is that roaming is more than just fights in general. Also, how do you define a “win?” For me, a win would be engaging someone (or someones) and either:
1. decidedly killing them
2. Forcing an indefinite retreat (which is arguably not a win at times).
That is what I consider a win. If someone runs away because they realized they aren’t going to beat me, that is a win. If I downed/killed them, that is a win.
If I die, whatever – it was outnumbered, not like it was an even fight for me to beat myself up over.
Most 1v1’s aren’t even fights either because most builds aren’t equally strong at 1v1 or are strong against certain builds and not others (rock/paper/scissors) , if you play cele ele then you have an advantage in most 1v1’s, there was a reason that level of faceroll was kicked out of PvP…
I both agree and disagree. If someone engages in a 1v1 with me, they figure out quickly what they’re getting in to. If a guy who weights 120lbs walks up to a guy whos 250lbs of muscle and punches him and the guy doesn’t flinch, its a good time to run away or be ready to be pounded into the ground lol.
Ele wasn’t the only reason cele was removed from PvP. If you think back in time, most classes ended up running it for a time of the bunker meta era. I’ve beat up on other cele ele’s with my own, it isn’t unkillable by any means, you just need to know how to counter them and know what skills to avoid them casting or to interrupt. I’m not here to teach people how to beat my build, but I know how to beat it and it has been beaten lol.
There is not a single elite spec-meta build that needs high level of skill to win. From thief to ele, it is pretty simple. 4-5 combo’s required only. Player intelligence is rewarded in many situations if you have a nice server and good teaming. Otherwise, every prof. forum is complaining about the unskillfulness (is that the word? meh what the heck.)
K. Game requires no skill, spend $50 and win every fight. Oh wait, I spent $50 and fought so many people that also spent $50 and only have lost 1v1s to ONE person in the entire game on my ele while I’ve been doing 1v1s with it since not too long after HoT released. But yeah every elite spec is easy to win with, requires no skill.
Also, I invite any of you to 1v1 my in my guild hall any time I’m online. Prove me wrong.
Bwahaha, so being an unkillable bunker is more skilled? I’m sorry but if you can facetank that much damage and everything you do heals you then… How is that more skilled than not being able to tank a single hit and having to be extremely careful about when you dodge?
I’m not unkillable, just only one person figured out how to kill me and he’s a friend in my guild lol. I do plenty of damage, I have plenty of videos on my stream to prove that much. I’ve even fought other eles with the same build as me on my ele and beat them because they don’t know how to time things like I do lol. It isn’t my build playing the game for me.
I don’t play a Thief for the record, since you’re speaking as though I do.
I assumed considering the way you worded your post of how you would beat someone, sounded a whole lot like how a thief does it lol.
The point I was trying to make is that roaming is a vicious hobby. You’re going to be getting outnumbered and hardcountered constantly. If you don’t want to be dying every 5 seconds, you should choose something that has good control over a fight. Meaning the ability to decide when a fight starts and when it ends. Necromancers for example are bad roamers because they can only decide when a fight starts but never when it ends unless they’re extremely creative.
I agree that necros aren’t great for roaming, but your reason isn’t the only reason why. Mobility isn’t everything, your build determines a great deal of what you can do roaming. Because I chose a well rounded build that has great tankability and decent damage, I don’t have to run away from fights as much. I do have Fiery GS in case I do need to get away from an incoming zerg quick, but thats pretty much all I have in the way of mobility, which is plenty.
Being able to faceroll your keyboard because you’re stupid tanky and still doing decent – high damage is so incredibly un skillful I find it hilarious that you’re claiming people should play a “real class.” Although I do absolutely agree that stealth is a crutch, it still keeps those people from getting steamrolled by zergs or gank squads so I can’t say I blame them for using it.
Like I said before, I’m not carried by my build and I don’t just faceroll the keyboard, I have plenty of stream footage to show my game play and I don’t always play it as full cele, I’ve been playing more with my marauder/zerk/cav build than anything. Cele was just an example above that thieves do no damage to. Even on my marauder build, I don’t take much damage from thieves even if they’re full zerk due to my damage reduction.
“Skill does trump mobility”
“I run full celestial tempest with scrapper runes”nuff said…
Damage reduction trumps mobility. The question was the best class to play, so why would it be thief if thief is so easily countered? lol.. The answer to the OPs question is whatever class they’re best at. There is no “wrong answer” to the question, but speaking from years of primarily roaming, I have to say thief is not the best option just because of its mobility. Its still easily countered. You won’t EASILY counter my Elementalist because it is a well rounded build and I know how to play it.
I guess if you wanna play a brain dead easy class you can pick up ele, engi or even druid then. Heck just try that condi chaos/insp/chrono mesmer build. But what’s the fun in that? I guess if you wanna have an easy time or are garbage player that would be your goto
So what you’re saying is that it takes more skill to play a thief than an ele? LOL.. Okay bro, okay.
Roaming is more than just being able to win 1v1s. You can easily get “out-roamed” by someone with higher mobility that knows they can’t beat you in a 1v1. Also, a thief may not be able to beat you in a 1v1, but how do you think that may change in a 2v2 and up?
You’re telling someone who has been roaming primarily since I started playing the game. I know that it is more than 1v1s, and I fight outnumbered all the time. Roaming is about survival, that’s why. An experienced roamer will engage on their terms and disengage when the fight is no longer in their favor.
I don’t think its all about survival. Obviously you don’t want to just go dying all the time, but I personally enjoy pushing my limits frequently. I won’t run from a 2v1, I’ll even stand for a fight 3v1 on my ele because it is fun. If I die, whatever – it was outnumbered, not like it was an even fight for me to beat myself up over.
The reason I love roaming is because it’s not who’s the most skilled, it’s who’s the smartest. I can’t beat you 1v1? Can I reset a lot and kite you? Yes? Okay, I’ll keep doing that until you’ve expended your cooldowns trying to catch me then I’ll kick your kitten . You have a tower nearby that you can run to? Okay, I’ll bait you by emoting or poke you from range until you leave your comfort zone then kick your kitten . You can have all the skill in the world but if you’re stupid/don’t know your limits then you’re gonna die a lot. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve killed someone who was clearly better than me because they just had to chase me beyond their comfort zone and wound up getting ganked.
You’re welcome to try, you’d have to be plenty patient in order to beat me. I’ve never lost to a thief on my ele, and do you know why? Because I don’t blow all of my cooldowns to try to save me from your burst. You can be full zerk and not do enough damage to me to kill me unless I decide to go AFK because I run full celestial with scrapper runes. I’ll also down you with air or fire overload easily if you’re not careful. Skill does trump mobility. I can literally walk away from your thief and cycle my auras and heals and you’ll never down me because I have too much damage reduction and too much regeneration, permanent protection and every aura I use heals me and gives me vigor for more dodges. I have a lot of auras.
The topic is what is the best profession to roam with and the best professions to roam with are the ones that have the most control over a fight. Mobility and stealth are the most powerful things to have because you can reset at will. If you think your skill is the most powerful tool to have you are dead wrong because you’re not going to out skill 3, 4 or 5+ people unless they’re all really terrible.
Mobility and stealth are crutches for bad players who can’t survive on a class that doesn’t need them. It is well known that thieves and mesmers are generally the lowest skilled roamers in the game. I lead a roaming guild that typically runs 3-8 people, usually about 5, we almost never have a thief because it isn’t very useful. Some times one of our guys will play his if he’s bored because its so easy to catch people and immobilize them so that the rest of us can beat them lol. Its rare for him to even do that because literally every other class is more useful to the group.
What would be the alternative for the durability rune? I play marauder ( celestial trinket)dagger warhorn ele with fresh air+earth+tempest (aura). I do not have mastery for durability and wonder what other runea might work until i get them.
Ultimately durability is the best option, but you could also go for Scrapper runes which are a pretty good rune.
Scrapper runes are horrible on ele.
Use Superior Rune of the Herald until you can get durability runes. You can buy them off the trading post and the only big difference is 5% less boon duration than durability. Toughness is exactly the same.
Why exactly do you think 15% boon duration is better than 175 power? Herald runes are not good, scapper are significantly better. People don’t take durability runes just for its boon duration, they take it for the effect it gives when hit. The boon duration is a nice bonus to help give you more duration for the resistance and other boons, but my ele has permanent up time of protection, regeneration and vigor without even having boon duration anything for my celestial set.
I personally think for the celestial set that scrapper runes are better than durability, but that is because without them you lose too much power. You can’t go wrong with extra power and I’d take over 175 power from Scrapper runes over 15% boon duration from Herald runes any day of the week.
Hi new to rev need a good WvW build [cant go marauder, don’t have stuff for it/crafting eg]
Anything else is fine
http://asphyxia.tv/wvw-roaming-revenant-build/
This is the best thing I came up with for roaming and group play for my Revenant, I love it. It is a lot of fun and has a ton of defense and offense. I explained a bit more in the link above.
The rudest behavior I’ve seen in WvW is two persons bowing to start a duel, and the winning person proceeding to stomp the loser.
This behavior is bad and shouldn’t be encouraged.
Isn’t it commonly understood that a bow preceding a fight meant that it was going to be a no-stomp duel where both sides would res and continue dueling and fighting one another.
I guess many don’t share this opinion.
Why bow in the first place?
Why not just fight on sight as a normal roaming encounter would turn out?
I don’t understand why people stomp either. I wouldn’t really know the feeling of getting stomped because I don’t lose 1v1s, but I have watched duels where people have stomped someone after beating them after bowing lol.
The loot bag would be nice, but generally I want to fight the person again if they want another round.
My advice for t1 roaming, like people have previously stated is thief due to the mobility alone. But as for roaming in general. Leave t1 asap. It was a miserable roaming experience a year ago and with the condition builds avaliable now, I bet it’s even worse.
On that note, LOL EVERYONE HATES MERI
I don’t understand why everyone thinks thief is a good thing to roam on. I’ve literally never lost a fight to a thief on my ele, they either get completely rekt or they run away when they realize they do no damage and I do a lot..
If your idea of roaming is playing the class that can run away fastest, then go play thief, but if you want to actually win fights against people who aren’t just bad zerglings trying to get back to their zergs, go play a real class. Every time I see a thief or a mesmer roaming, all I think they are is a loot bag, or someone who is going to stealth and run. I’ll engage and if they don’t run, they’ll die. Easy life, play Ele.
I run something like this for back/midline. I went shiro/staff though.
You run with boonshare mesmer?
When we have one I do lol. I prefer hammer over stuff because of the ranged AOE damage, and hammer 2 OP. I took mallyx over shiro for the resistance and boon stripping. It’s proved to be better for me.
If it was all 4 tiers in the season together and matches changing every week, I’d be all for it.
Dynamically level adjusted – but can’t wear level 80 gear unless you’re ACTUALLY level 80. People need to just buy HOT and be done with it. I don’t even understand why you’re still talking.
Facepalm… Its like talking to a wall.
WvW is easier to learn and harder to master. “Learning” and “Mastering” are two different words. We cannot say WvW is more advanced. Also we cannot say PvP is more advanced. Both WvW and PvP are hard to master.
I can and will say that WvW is more advanced and harder to master than PvP. I went in to PvP for the first time and was instantly good at it after spending 2 years in WvW about a year ago lol. If you’ve mastered WvW, you can master PvP with ease. The same can’t be said vice versa because PvP is such a basic dumbed down game mode with little options for builds and is on a significantly smaller playing field with only 10 people in the instance.
I run 3-8 people with my group in WvW and we have to deal with a whole lot more crazy stuff than you’ll ever see in PvP. WvW is far more advanced because of the builds and the large number of things that can go differently in WvW.
1. Compared to PvP, WvW is easier to learn.
When was the last time you were solo in PvP and came up against 60 enemies? Wait, never? How about this, when was the last time you went in to WvW and just had the option to select an amulet from a list to determine your stats? NEVER? When was the last time you could just walk up to an important objective and fight one dude to take it in WvW? Let me guess. What about the last time you needed to win for a whole week before actually winning? lol..
Man, WvW must be a lot easier than PvP. The problem is you have a zerg mentality for WvW, you don’t actually understand the game mode so you’re assuming that it is no more complex than PvP.
As I mentioned, the high player limit of WvW means that a newbie player can get involved without immediately feeling pressured to contribute.
Depending on the server you’re on and people you follow, if you don’t know what you’re doing in WvW and you get one pushed in that zerg v zerg fight and rally the enemies, you might be in for hearing some words from the people who were in the zerg you were running with. I promise if some pug follows XT and gets one pushed in a fight, we’ll let them know they’re bad.
DB always gets so close to the top then implodes 2-3 weeks later, so lets just see what happens.
They probably will if they get stuck in t1, cause a lot of their guilds are currently not built for the blobs like BG and TC has (even if some of them did come from t1 before). But seems like JQ is recovering from it’s NA plague, so that shouldn’t happen anyways.
They’re known for doing very well then burning out after 2-3 weeks. Their OCX/SEA has never been for fights, so after weeks of fighting servers who have people in those time zones, they decide they want to take breaks and then the NA people get frustrated that they’re losing really bad and transfer away or also take breaks. Boom implosion – see ya in 3 months DB lol.
WvW is designed to accommodate newbie players that are not experienced enough to participate in PvP.
You lost me with the very first sentence. WvW is NOT designed to do that at all. Just because each person isn’t “pressured” to contribute right away doesn’t mean that it was DESIGNED for newbies lmao.. If anything WvW is far more advanced than PvP because there is so much build diversity and there are SO many way to build and play every class. PvP is SUPER limited on what you can do.
Comparing the two (PvP and WvW) is pointless, the two game modes only share on big similarity – they’re both part of Guild Wars 2, aside from that, they are completely different. The meta builds are different, the game play style is different and what CAN be done is WAY different.
Don’t compare the two, there is no point in trying. They’re really nothing alike. You’re clearly a person who has played PvP more than WvW because you don’t understand how WvW works or the player base of WvW in general.
DB always gets so close to the top then implodes 2-3 weeks later, so lets just see what happens.
Dragonwagon is winning T1 match right now, go stack on them!
i actually reported this thread for being in the wrong section
either my report is deemed invalid or simply not attendedon a side note
HOD is only 150g to transfer in!Compare to 550g for Very High and 300g for High
the math is real simple! you can transfer more people to HOD with the same cost!
You forgot to mention the best part about being on HOD. Giving all of those loot bags to Maguuma!
Man.. Copy cats everywhere hahaha.
