Jumpin Lumpix.6108

So I solo/duo que in spvp ranked league. I spent over 10+ hrs yesterday queing in emerald league, must of played about 25+ games. My win ratio is around 55-60% which is pretty good for a solo player in spvp and at the end of the day I didn’t even gain one tier… im still stuck at tier 3 emerald. Every time I would win 1-3 games I would get paired against a premade and/or paired up with people who are absolutely horrible, and won’t cap points.

I can now see why people spend about 10 hrs deliberately losing matches to lower there MMR so that the next day they can spend 10hrs blowing through the ranks straight to ruby/diamond rank.

I don’t see how a-net is going to address this when a good player like myself can’t even advance with a higher than average win ratio. Even if I teamed up I don’t see how it would benefit not doing this, and im not sure how they would stop people from doing it, as playing legitimately clearly doesn’t get you anywhere unless your very lucky or have very low MMR.

I might also add that these outpost quest chains are achievements, and you must complete every step in the quest chain to unlock it. So every time it resets is another time you have to do the outpost quest chain again. (and hope you show up at the right time/hope nightfall doesn’t come and reset it again).

So I’m in verdant Brink, doing outpost quest chains and repeatedly I get about half way through all of the event chains to complete the outpost and then out of Nowhere (there dosent seem to be a way to tell when its coming) 5 min till nightfall message appears.

5 min later entire outpost quest chain fails and resets and I have to wait through 45 min of nightfall to start all over again on them. Really great design there.

I think its funny that people think this community is so great. These forums are very toxic and its something I’ve seen since the game launched. The second you post anything you’ll get about 10 insulting messages from “not this again” to “I’m tired of seeing posts like this” to people constantly disagreeing with everything you say no matter how neutral or rational your argument is just for the sake of disagreeing with you.

or my favorite how they nitpick every single word you write and micro analyze every aspect of anything you say, in order to find one discrepancy which then somehow invalidates your entire argument no matter what it may be.

Well this will pretty much destroy the dye market now that you can get 1 account bound dye of your choosing per 3 yr old character on your account.

So now supply hasn’t been increased (since you cant trade them) but demand has plummeted which now means all dye will normalize to some low figure most likely.

I think adding dyeable weapons would generate a lot of income for Anet even though it would take money to implement.

All they would have to do is add some dye channels to certain parts of each weapon, the entire weapon/glow effect color could also be changed and I think that would add even more value to the game itself.

If you think about it if your going to purchase a black lion weapon it is much more likely that it will not be in the color you want, so therefore if you could dye some aspect of these weapons (or any weapon for that matter) more people would likely buy them.

Make Precision/Ferocity affect Condition Dmg

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Jumpin Lumpix.6108

Jumpin Lumpix.6108

All they have to do is rebalance condition damage which there in the process of doing already, then ferocity and precision can affect condition damage as well.

and as for how a condition crits: it crits like normal power damage does and just as a block or and evade negates a hit and crit from a power based attack, block and evade can also negate an application of a condition…

they can also make toughness reduce the damage received from condition damage.

Make Precision/Ferocity affect Condition Dmg

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Jumpin Lumpix.6108

Jumpin Lumpix.6108

Since anet rebalanced condition damage, it seems to still come up short compared to power builds as far as overall damage. This makes sense however because condition damage is one stat and should not be equal in damage to power builds (zerker) stats which consist of Power Precision and ferocity (3 stats).

So since there rebalancing condition damage anyways why not let conditions crit? thus allowing precision to affect condition damage as well as ferocity affect the damage of those crits?

This would then make condition damage a viable 2nd damage meta that should do more sustained damage overtime to a target when compared to power.

the 2 meta’s would then be:

quick burst damage (power based) and slow building higher damage over time. (condition damage affected by precision and ferocity)

Edit:

This is my other stat change suggestion here:

Merge Healing Power with Vitality

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Jumpin Lumpix.6108

Jumpin Lumpix.6108

Out of all of the defensive stats I feel like toughness is most useful. Therefore I think vitality and healing power could get a significant boost if they were merged into one stat which could retain the name vitality. It could be a straight merge in that if you have 100 vitality you get 100 healing power as well as 1000 health.

Any gear that you currently have that has healing power on it could be converted to a new stat which increases boon duration since recent trait changes has eliminated our boon duration increases from trait stats.

So if you have cestial gear, instead of healing power, you get 2% boon duration. If healing power is a secondary stat on a gear piece you get 4% and if primary you get 5% per piece. And any armor with vitality on it gets the added bonus of healing power added to it, in addition to normal vitality stats.

Cost of Bag Slots is too High

Jumpin Lumpix.6108

In real life terms, look at your clost/garage/whatever. If you fill it up it does not matter if it somehow gets bigger. You will fill it up again. What you need to do is get better at organization … “do I really need to carry xyz around with me all the time”.

Sure, there are plenty of things you MIGHT need once in a blue moon. Put them in your bank and use the ‘b’ or ‘y’ key when it looks like that situation is imminent.

What does this have to do with the fact that the cost of upgrading a single characters bag slots is too high and most people don’t buy this item on the whole because they feel its too expensive for what it gives you. (even taking into account the convenience of one character receiving additional bags).

Again if they lowered the price more people might buy it, it also might not be so annoying to buy something I feel is way overprice for what it gives you.

I also have no problems with inventory management even though everyone keeps suggesting to me that obviously I must if I want cheaper bag upgrades?

What costs ‘too much’ is relative. If it’s too expensive for you, then the responsible thing is to not buy it. Seems to me when people complain something is too expensive, they want to be relieved of the responsibility of managing their money.

the issue isn’t that its expensive for me the issue is that its too expensive relative to everything else offered in the gemstore already, and from the sound of this thread, its being validated the vast majority of people are arguing that you don’t need it which is a separate issue of not wanting it and ultimately they don’t buy it.

So again my suggestion to lower the gem cost is valid in that if they were to lower the cost of it, it would be a more attractive purchase in the gemstore and more people would buy it.

ok well

400 gems buys you one upgrade slot on one character – you still have to buy the bag ( need 3 of these to fully upgrade at 1200 gems for a max of 60 extra slots)

600 gems buys you a bank tab with 30 slots accessible by all characters on your account

800 gems buys you a new character with 5 bags slots – bags not included……..

why are individual bag slot upgrades SOOO EXPENSIVE in relation to these other gem store purchase when you take into account what they give you?

look im not arguing this with anyone anymore the vast majority of ppl I know are always low on space in their inventories. If you think having a lot of inventory space is a luxury then you have problems,

Secondly if you really think the price of bags is not exorbitant compared to similar like utility items (say bank upgrade which is only 200 gems more Is accessible by all characters on the account and gives you 30 slots which is the equivalent of the bag purchase for the bag upgrade and then some) then I dunno what to say I guess we should all pay a lot for something I see nobody buying simply because too many people I have talked too think its too expensive.

But your right technically we don’t need anything to play this game I guess we could argue we shouldn’t have a bank or guilds or a chat box. there all LUXURY ITEMS.

No matter how you look at it the game has aged and the price of buying something that is considered essential Utility (even more so now that so many new items have been introduced thus taking up even more space) has risen “Overall” when you take into account all of the methods of obtaining gems.

When the game came out 400 gems per bag slot was no big deal. Gems are inflated now and it still costs 1200 gems to upgrade one character to max bag slots.

For a player just starting out that’s somewhere between 180g-200g just to max out bag slots on one character. A little ridiculous for someone just starting out.

Would be nice if the 3 additional bag slots were given free or the price was cut by a minimum of 50% to a more reasonable 200 gems per slot making it cost 600 gems total for full upgrade.

This in addition to the fact that Thief had Rifle in the Beta, it also makes more lore sense to give a Thief a Rifle over a staff – since a Staff is a non lethal weapon.

Also Ricochet was completely removed from thief trait line, it would make even more sense to re-introduce it with a new Rifle elite spec trait line.

[Suggestion] Add Additional Cosmetic Options

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Jumpin Lumpix.6108

Jumpin Lumpix.6108

I’ve put together a list of cosmetic options that I think would greatly improve the experience of the game overall. Since one of the major aspects of endgame is making your character look as cool as possible, I think it would be worth the effort to include these additions to the game.

1) Dyeable Weapons:

I think this would be relatively simple to implement depending on how its done. You could make it simple, like only allowing us to dye the hilts on some weapons, or some of the accent components of the weapon such as inlaid filigree or gems that are in weapons. You could leave the metal part/wood part of the design, the same, depending on the type of weapon. If you wanted to expand on this you could allow us to dye/change the aura’s or particle effects that come off of certain weapons.

Other weapons you could leave un-dyable, such as ascended weapons (mostly because each is a unique color when crafted). So you don’t have to make every single weapon dyeable, but the vast majority could be dyed, especially gemstore skins. This would be a great addition to the game and worth the development time in my opinion.

2) Dyeable Backpieces:

Mostly the same argument above, but I think this too would add a great amont of value to the game if you could just dye the overall colors of most backpieces. Gemstore skins especially would be especially preferred, however in the case of the feather wings backpiece, where you had to buy the two separate colors, simply leave those undyable. In addition, certain skins such as the spinal blades backpiece, where you have to craft a certain color/aura, leave those as is and make them undyable, as its the same argument as ascended weapons. (ie. you have to craft the color you want).

The vast majority of backpieces, however, could be dyed and I think this would add a lot of value to the game as well.

3) Making Trinkets/Rings/Amulets Visible:

This would require a fair amount of work, but I Believe the pay off would be great. If we could visually be able to see the rings we have on, in addition to the trinkets being displayable earrings and the amulets being necklaces, all with their own unique skins associated, I think it would rejuvenate certain area’s of the game profoundly. For example, the skin market for rings would be profoundly affected, and players desire to acquire unique ring/accessories etc. would spur players to go out and revisit old content even more, in order to customize their characters appearance further.

In addition to this you could even do something with jewelcrafting like increase the cap to 500 with the purpose of allowing us to craft legendary rings/trinkets/amulets which would all have their own unique displayable skins (particle/glow effects optional). You could leave the majority of these rings/trinkets/amulets, if not all undyable as each one would have to be crafted or acquired to get the skin you want, especially since there are so many different types of accessories with different color gemstones already in them.

4) Allow characters hair to show through helmets:

I know this is probably quite a bit of work to implement this, however I think the payoff would be good. I understand the reason for not having this is that hair clips through most of the helmets, but I believe it would be worth it to implement and some type of hair to flow down/out of the helmet, that is the same hair color as your characters chosen hair, for each helmet for each race/gender.

I think this change is justified however, since the end game of gw2 is primarily a cosmetic focus and I think a lot of people would be very pleased by this change. Additionally it would spur a lot of people to go out and acquire new helmets, ones that they didn’t consider before due to hair disappearing while wearing them.

I truly believe it would be worth the development teams effort to add these features in and I was wondering if anyone knows if there is any future development occurring towards any of these suggestions?

[Suggestion] Player Quick Commands

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Jumpin Lumpix.6108

Jumpin Lumpix.6108

So one thing that I personally think is pretty annoying on MMO’s is having to constantly go on TeamSpeak to listen to people give the same commands over and over.

Most of the time I’m ok with socializing and talking, but sometimes I get annoyed and don’t want to listen to others talking. (one of the biggest reasons I don’t command in WvW is that I don’t want to constantly have to talk on TeamSpeak)

It would be nice if there was some sort of Quick Commands that a commander could issue in game via their keyboard that would display on others screens as to what they’re doing.

This sort of technology can be seen in popular MOBA’s like League of Legends where you can send various quick messages to other players. For example you can tell another player to be “careful of certain area” or to “Retreat” and since the content were doing is mostly the same, the commands that people give would apply to most content.

For example if a commander had a special interface where they could press pre-selected messages such as “set up siege”, it would appear on your screen (if you were following the said commander) as a message that says, “Set Up This Siege”.

anyways it would reduce to some extent the need for having to use 3rd party applications in order to communicate effectively in the game.

I also can’t see a logical technical reason for restricting this either.

Sometimes I get locked out of LFG for almost 2 hours and when this happens I just end up logging off as it bars ALL TYPES of LFG activities.

The main reason I join a party and quit it, is because the district I am trying to join is full, not for any shady unscrupulous reasons.

This game needs harder Content

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Jumpin Lumpix.6108

Look all they have to do is just add more content that is challenging. I understand that people get better at content overtime and that it becomes less challenging, but if you set the bar fairly hi the content should remain engaging for most people.

In addition even if not all players are able to organize a group or lack the skill level to access such content. That’s OK! It gives players something to work towards, a level they need to try to surpass.

I think its imperative that an MMO has something for gamers to work towards and introducing difficult content not only improves the skill level of the player base (because they will strive to complete it), but it also adds depth of challenge. People try to analyze the mechanics of difficult content theorize about builds, socialize etc.

All of these things make the community grow and bond.

In addition the rewards should be appropriate to this content. You need to offer very exclusive rewards for completing difficult content otherwise there’s no motivation to do it except for the sake of completing it. Those rewards should probably be sellable as well to the rest of the player base, as that will keep players coming back to do the content as a revenue source.

So what does this add up too. Players striving to play better in order to complete difficult content in order to gain personal wealth and prestige. As well as community working together, organizing and strategizing the best method to overcome difficult content and complete it efficiently. Sounds like PvE Endgame to me.

What’s the point of learning all your skills leveling up from 1-80 if there is no content to test all of your accumulated skills/knowledge on.

The game also seems to encourage casual play and rewards it, to the point where you almost don’t have to do anything at all. For example:

I could run Aetherpath which is arguably a difficult dungeon, with the hopes of getting one of the Dreams weapons. They sell for roughly 200-500g on the TP (I understand that prices are based on supply and demand). If I Don’t get a dream weapon then the other rewards I get from doing this difficult content are marginal at best.

Now I could go to Silverwastes and basically AFK at breeches and Vinewraith events. (and many players do, I’m not one of them because I find it boring). If you do this You get guaranteed champion boxes that appear on your screen, without you having to do much, except for tagging the occasional enemy. In addition you also have a chance at the Preserved Queen Bee Gem which sell for 1.2k gold on average.

These rewards are far greater than anything you might receive from doing difficult content.

Players follow the path of least resistance, the rewards vs effort are far greater by doing easy content in general rather than doing difficult content.

Have you considered setting conditions to make it harder on yourself?

As a few examples… level a character from 1-80, wearing nothing but Blues/Greens without dying once. If you die you delete the character and start over.

Do a dungeon wearing as little armor as possible, while using only Green rarity weapons.

Etc. There’s plenty of challenges available in this game, it’s just that a lot of people only seem to think linearly.

I mean, I understand wanting harder content, but they can’t make it impossible for casuals to do, so finding ways to make it harder for yourself is the important part of this game.

Yes I could make the game harder for myself, but unfortunately there is no actual gain from doing this other than personal satisfaction.

I don’t get any better drops compared to doing this will full gear on, in fact I get drops slower playing this way as it takes longer to kill enemies + I would die easier/more frequently.

This in turn limits the only end game there is which is accumulating wealth so I can buy cosmetic goods that I enjoy.

So this handicap would make the game harder, but the reward would be less. Now if they actually made it so that I got insane drops from playing in Blues or greens I would definitely consider it. And it would indeed make the game harder.

Mostly I just want to be rewarded for playing difficult content.

Or run FOTM 43-44(the hardest levels). 50 level is easy.
Hardcore mod: 43-44 level with PUG group as necro.

I have actually done all of the dungeon paths in the game, in addition my main is a necro and I do lvl 50 fractals as well as the ones you’ve mentioned with pugs as both a necro and guardian.

I will admit that 43-44 fractals are very difficult when I did them, but there is no incentive to do these as lvl 50 is easier and gives greater reward.

I also don’t like the idea of self imposed handicaps, I like building up my character and playing to the fullest, If I wanted to make the game harder I could run around with no Armor on, but that seems silly to me.

So I’ve already done everything in the game that would be considered “hard” – i.e. all achieves on Aetherpath and fractals lvl 50. While these were fun to do, I’m wondering if there going to add content that is even more difficult than these.

Something on par with GW1 hard mode would be nice, or perhaps something like Domain of Anguish where its a group type raid instance that is actually really difficult to do.

This game is so easy compared to its predecessor, and frankly its way too easy compared to other mmo’s.

As a veteran player I have nothing to work towards anymore and there is very little “Skill Based” Content that gives good exclusive rewards except for Fractals and Aetherpath.

I’d like to see hard jumping puzzles (that don’t allow your friends to teleport you) and instances that reward you with items that cannot be purchased with credit cards.

Additional Sinister Stat Items to be Added?

You realize that Sinister is the Condi heavy version of Rampager, right? Assassin’s isnt even condi either.

Additionally, if you run fractals you can infuse the plague signet and then go buy another one to wear with the infused one.

Your right its not Assassin It’s Rampager Sorry either way that’s the closest stat combo,

yes but then one of your rings isn’t infused.

So as of right now, you can craft a full armor/weapon set of ascended gear with the Sinister stat combination (Condition damage primary + Power + Precision)

However there is No Sinister Stat Combination amulet available with a Utility Infusion slot. Only amulets with Defensive and Offensive infusion slots.

There are No Back pieces that have Sinister Stats at all.

In addition there are no other sets that are close in stats to Sinister if your trying to mix and match to get full offensive infusion slots in your rings/accessories. Zerker is able to sacrifice a small amount of precision in exchange for vitality to get a full complement of Offensive Rings and Accessories. However No such set exists for Sinister.

ex. of Berserker set, maxing out Offensive Infusion slots for a small trade in stats

&

The closest set for sinister stat wise is Rampagers which is (Precision Primary, Condition damage, Power) – Pretty much not worth the trade off so Omni infusions it is which makes the set much more expensive for no reason.

So is there any plans to add in more items with Sinister stats, or other sets that are close to Sinister stats in order to maximize desired infusion slots?

Kind of hard to take Condition damage seriously when its not even on equal footing to Berserker Stats, equipment wise.

Tequatl can’t actually fly he uses magic to either push the planet away from him or bring it closer to him.

Elite Spec's Not Balanced Vs. Reg Spec's

They never once claimed to be removing anything from getting a specialization.

That said, just because you gain access to longbow doesn’t mean you’ll always use it. If you find yourself only using it part of the time and using greatsword most of the time and not using any of the traps you’re at a loss being a dragon hunter. You’re better off dropping dragon hunter and picking up another trait line that actually benefits you.

The Elite specialization trait line really only bonuses the weapon and the skills, if you don’t really use either there isn’t a point to being the elite specialization.

This isn’t true there are only 2 traits in the Dragon Hunter elite trait line that benefit the Longbow, The Optional Master Trait “Hunter’s Determination” and the Optional Grand Master Trait “Heavy Light” The rest of the trait line is compatible with all guardian weapon/skills

Elite Spec's Not Balanced Vs. Reg Spec's

Ok so help me make sense of this, I’ll use Guardian and its respective elite spec of Dragon Hunter.

So if we can assume that all trait lines are created equal, then we can assume that the elite trait line is roughly the same equivalent of a normal trait line. So therefore playing as guardian w/3 normal trait lines = playing as Dragon Hunter w/2 normal trait lines + the required Elite trait line.

Since traits are equivalent why is this so imbalanced then:

If I play Guardian I get to use 11 weapons (including underwater) and I gain 0 new skills for the expansion.

If I play Dragon Hunter I get to use 12 weapons (including underwater) and I gain 6 new skills+ all regular guardian skills.

The only restriction is I have to spec one of my trait lines as the elite spec trait line. How is this fair or balanced for non elite spec’ed classes?

I thought they were going to remove access to one weapon from the Dragon Hunter that the Guardian has, or perhaps remove 6 skills that the guardian has from the Dragon Hunter…. but I guess not?

In my opinion, this game has one of the worst communities I’ve seen in a long time. Maybe not as bad as diablo 2 but still… pretty bad especially in sPvP and here on the forums.

Thousands, perhaps, tens of thousands, of support request tickets are streaming into CS each day at this time, and thus, responses are a bit delayed.

It does not speed up the process to post outside the dedicated thread. Each ticket is seen to in the order received, and then processed as need be.

Good luck.

well I guess, just ridiculous that the support is so slow, and then u have to post in the forum that your ticket is still not addressed, which that requires someone else who does have access to their account to make the post in the first place, all so that they can check the status of ur ticket.

I guess its a lesson that you really don’t want to mess up transferring authenticators/getting hacked or any other issue that requires support because the customer service is so unbelievably slow compared to other games that have support.

It’s also the weekend. I don’t think they work on the weekends typically.

If you posted it late on Friday, they had already gone home for the weekend. There may not be a reply until Monday. And just because no reply is given, doesn’t mean that no one is looking into it and making sure it’s not been skipped over.

yes but she submitted the ticket almost 7 days ago, its also a bit ridiculous that I have to post on the forums for a support ticket, for them to check it? Most people don’t post on the forums so I’m sure they don’t even know about that thread.

I just don’t understand why its taking 7 days to respond is that normal?

So my friend submitted a ticket almost a week ago for an authenticator removal request on her account. (she bought a new cell phone traded in the old one and didn’t transfer authenticators) This is a pretty standard ticket and I personally had this same problem with my battle.net account about a year ago and they responded to my request in about 1 1/2 hours.

We’ll its been 7 days now and still no reply, does it normally take this long to address such a simple account fix?
