They should at least have the skirmish chest rewards give wvw rank
Why can’t we just use Tomes of Knowledge to up our WvW rank?
This is a very good idea.
I love this idea
Lets look at the time required to get to rank 2000 compared to the time required to craft the gear yourself. WvWrs have been looking for a way to get their hands on Ascended armor/weapons, only to be given a means that far far exceeds what is expected in the PvErs world.
a scale for T1 to T3 such as Rank 250 – Rank 500 – Rank 1000, would be better. This would still required time and effort in WvW to obtain, and be more, “Feasible” for newcomers to work towards.
Because in the end, isn’t one of the reason for these rewards, gear, back-item, to get more people into WvW? Is that not a good thing, I would think so.
This is exactly how I feel, When I logged on and saw the armor, I got all excited like wow I’m gonna go play wvw and I’m sure the reward will be reasonable to get like every other reward in the game. Then when I saw that it was rank 2k I felt a sinking feeling like really? Instead of wanting to play wvw and earn the reward i felt frustrated and repulsed about the entire game.
So first off i have not been able to get into WvW because i had a 100 man + que for EB and 50+ for CD.
Thats on Anet for not looking forward. In there meetings of how to get more WvW participation im wondering if anyone brought up. Man if this works how will the linked servers effect the population for maps?
The other thing is when is Anet gonna address the meta. I understand you love your raids and dont want to have to touch it. Seriously though HOT meta builds are destroying 2 out of 3 areas of your game.
This one is for the community since 1 thread says 2 years for rewards. The OP of it says that they are a serious WvW player.
If they were they wouldnt be complaining. I played the majority of my WvW before we got rankings for it. The other players i know who seriously played WvW have over 2,000 rank points and that was easy.
Like we were playing WvW for fun and now that WvW has something to play for it looks enjoyable from that perspective. So for example AP wise im on T5 of all my WvW except the player kills. (bad internet, cant join zerg fights) With that said i have barely touched WvW since the HOT release because of PvP seasons, raids, new PvE maps, livin story.
You can not call yourself a serious WvW player if you have less then 1,500 WvW levels. I have 900 and been in WvW for less then 20 hrs for the past 2 years basically.
People talking about Anet adding grind to the game. Guess what this should of been here from the start. MMO are suppose to have things that are easy to achieve, some with mid level difficulty and some achievements for life long players who play the game for 5+ years.
Anet has consistently made things easier for PvE players who wanted something and didnt want to put the time in. Raids give quick rewards, dungeons give quick rewards, i hate that Anet adds PvE to PvP and WvW rewards.
With that said GW2 has been out for 6+ years now and since the made PvP levels easy to gain, this would be the first thing players actually had to play and work towards.
except its a mindless grind of doing pvd, in eotm, because that is the most efficient way to rank 2000 by a landslide. I dunno why you think that someone with rank 500 or rank 1000 is a noob and not a real wvwer compared to someone with rank 1,500. The average in wvw is about a rank an hour. I’m sorry but 500 hours in a game mode or a thousand hours is more than adequate to prove dedication in a specific game mode. I’ve played since launch and I have 6.2k hours played, I think anything more than rank 1k is asking too much, especially when you expect 2k hours of my 6.2k total hours in gw2 to be in wvw just to get a reward, especially when all other game mode rewards can be obtained in a shorter similar time table of 3-6 months (all legendaries).
How do you think new players feel looking at this? Especially since this armor is advertised all over the gw2 website and there twitter feed and the implication is that this is something obtainable so “come play gw2 today.” They should add a disclaimer that says, yah but not for 2 years. Its ridiculous.
Currently to get any of the gear in WvW if you were to start at level 1 now and try to get to 1500 it would take a year and a half.
In WoW an expansion comes out, but it doesn’t take a couple years to get the new gear it only takes a couple months which is alot more reasonable.
Think the Anet Devs need to take in consideration that the rate of which people will level will actually be exponentially slower due to queues and less play time because of the fact of limited time to play.
What can be done? Add a solution to fix the over population maybe a new map. lower the rank req to atleast 1000.
i agree completely, I’d like to attain this armor sometime this year, otherwise this is just another unrealistic korean mmo grind
Just curious…..do you play wvw for rewards?
I only do content for rewards, if there is no rewards i usually don’t play the content. I like treasure what can i say. I do all types of content though and play all game modes I do enjoy it sometimes, but a lot of it is tedious in my opinion and a lot of my enjoyment comes from getting rewards.

personally i feel like anet is going on the road to grindy korean mmos and it makes me want to quit the game entirely. I really hope they lower this to at least rank 1000, all the other requirements for it seem fair to me. If you guys know the history of wvw rank you would know that its not really tied to wvw dedication, its just a grind tied to karma training rather then actually wvwing.
I think 1000 would have been fine, 2000 is too high, especially since it’s only Ascended armor, not Legendary. I would like to see a distribution chart of what all the players have for their current rank.
I feel like 1000 is the compromise everyone would find reasonable as well. It would put the timeline of getting it within 1 year as opposed to 2, and 1 year to obtain something in this game is on par with all other rewards.
you get more wxp if you can farm the enemy zerg vs trying to ktrain. Bring a guardian lootstick, rev hammer, or necro. ez game ez life git gud.
I already have guardian with loot stick full asc and a hammer rev backline full asc, sorry but pvd in eotm is still the most consistent/fastest way to rank up. So if I want the reward this is the most efficient method, which isn’t even wvw and as such rank isn’t really associated with wvw Commitment, it’s associated more with karma train behavior. And K training for 2000 hours is my idea of a horrible grind.

Anet I’m behind you.
Don’t cave.
There’s a lot like us out here that feel the same way.
Things that come too easily are soon forgotten. It’s not a grind, it’s a challenge — and if you really want the new item, you’ll put in the time.
Nobody NEEDS the new shiny to play. It’s a choice. Invest the time or not.
Its a grind on par or worse then the most grindy Korean mmos out there. I play gw2 because it isn’t that Grindy, but apparently with this, now it is. If rank was based on winning zerg vs zerg, or winning in havoc groups or scouting I would say yes this is a reward based on wvw dedication. But it’s not, the best way to rank up is pvd which is achieved by eotm which isn’t even wvw. So why do you care if the req Is lowered? It’s not a reflection of your commitment to the game mode anyway it’s just a horribly egregious grind.
It’s even further cheapened by the fact that people exploited eotm when it launched to gain rank 2000-5000 in a mere month which Anet let them keep, which was fine because there were no rewards at the time gated behind high rank, just titles which only enemy players on other servers can see. So don’t act like your commitment to wvw is really reflected by rank.

2000 is perfect and shows that they are a true ktrainer…
fixed it for you.
WXP has been a thing for some 4 years now. If you think only a karma train could possibly get you to 2k i have to wonder if you ever even set foot in WvW.
Perhaps you are just parroting mindless complaints from people who really don’t want anything to do with WvW but instead just want to get all the shinies from it asap and get out. Well that kitten ain’t gona fly.so saying i’d like it set to rank 1000 instead of rank 2000 = i just want to dip my toe in and get my rewards and get out? How is that possible with rank 1k? You don’t think thats an egregious amount of playtime for someone whos just coming in, or for people who have 500-1k hours in wvw and are still only about half way or 1/4th of the way there?
First off i doubt you only want to drop the 2000 to 1000 and leave the other 1k+ requirements intact. So to pretend you only want to reduce one single item is disingenuous at best.
Secondly, if you have that much time in WvW you are far more along the way to 2k rating than just rank 500. You are greatly exegerating the effort and time it takes because a few people are grossly low-balling their world rank while overstating the effort they put in.
I would completely be fine with rank 1K and wouldn’t have anything else to say. 500ish hours in wvw is a lot and yet I’m only ,1/8th the way to the carrot on the stick, it’s ridiculous.

here’s the real issue,
obtaining:
full legendary armor from raids – 3-6 months
legendary fractal back piece – 3-6 months
legendary spvp back piece – 3-6 months
legendary wvw back piece – 3-6 months
crafting any legendary without a credit card – 3 months – 1 year
getting t3 armor from wvw = 1 1/2 – 2 yearsplease a-net even out the discrepancy.
Arbitrary numbers are asinine.
I’ll have the full T3 armor within a few months. Because I’m a dedicated WvW player and this armor is for dedicated WvW players. If you’re rank 0, then you have to become a dedicated WvW player to get that armor.
by doing a ton of ktrain in eotm, cuz thats the most efficient way to get rank. So i dunno where u think rank = dedicated wvw player. its also way more effort then any other game modes rewards. If thats the case seems like spvp and pve got the shaft on long term commitment rewards.
If players want WvW then they need to play WvW, not EOTM
funny if u go into wvw, the wvwers complain of pve noobs getting in the way of their que. Before they complained about low wvw population. At one point they made eotm for pvers so they could get wvw rewards and not bother the wvw crowd. Now you complain that rewards should be exclusive to wvw and not eotm. we’ve come full circle.
I agree to this.
Casuals need to git gudTell me how auto attacking doors and standing in circle for 2000 hours = skill? That’s the most efficient way to rank up so.
What do you know about wvw in the 1st place? you have an average or just over an hr per week since release in wvw. 20 mins per day if you do the math from your other post, just enough to get dailies. if thats all you do in wvw then you SHOULDNT be able to obtain it.
i got 10 ranks playing last night with my guild for 2-3 hrs without boosters. if i done that for 30 days (which will happen) i would exceed your current wvw rank. 2000 is obtainable for people who actually play the game mode and it doesn’t feel like a grind because its not, we actually play the game mode.
if you spend 1 hr a week in wvw WHY DO YOU THINK YOU ARE ENTITLED TO SOMETHING THAT IS MEANT TO BE PRESTIGIOUS. you should be thankfull you can atleast craft the legendary backpiece… you only need 350.
I have a lot more wvw experience then you think, at least 400+ hrs in wvw, including 3 dedicated characters in full ascended w/meta builds for nothing but wvw. Ive played in all the tournaments, and I also play all other game modes of gw2. I am not looking for a hand out I would gladly work towards any reward within reason. aside from that I’d like to you to address this then from my other post.

For the 1st time in your life anet pls do not cave to casuals or players that don’t even care about wvw to lower the Reqs for armor etc.
Why do u care? The way it is now it dissuades people from playing, is that what you want?
They can wait 2 years to see a shining armor with spikes but can’t play WvW to get levels, should be 5k to discourage skin searchers destroying the queue
If they released legendary armor with the expectation that anyone who wants it needs to full clear raids every week for 2 years I would still be here on the forums saying that’s stupid… Because it’s a game…
but the update is a reward to players playing a neglected game mode by years, cant be a simple “Skin research”, now we have the same situation when Legendary Armor has been released, PvP players requesting Legendary Insight by PvP Tracks or Points and PvE players fighting to have a exclusive ‘hard core’ pve armor.
This topic is simply hilarious and hypocrite.
As a person who has played all game modes, the issue revolves around not having exclusive rewards for WvW, but why Is the reward so time consuming to obtain compared to other game mode rewards. I don’t mind wvwing for a very long time to get this, as long as it takes the same amout of time to obtain the exclusive reward as the ones offered in other game modes.
And for those players who are saying, WvW is easy, just follow the Zerg and press 1, and get your reward in the end, NO. if it wasnt for those skilled guilds dedicated to WvW with the right Builds, Gears and skills, Leading You guys!, a decent group, with half of the amount of players you have, will wipe you ass all day long, over and over again. let the WvWers leave the game mode for one day only, and see what will happen to you.
Just Learn this game mode, Gear up for it, follow and listen, and have fun, if you dont like wvw, just stick to pve, WE are happy and Proud of it, the way it is. No one is obliged to play a game mode who dislike just to get a fancy gear.
Though I do hope some Pvers will like wvw and stick around even after the event is over.Well I am a wvwer and a Spvp and a pver, (ive participated in all wvw tournaments, gotten legend in spvp 2x’s and crafted 6 legendaries, without using credit cards) and the requirement for this armor is far beyond anything else in the game except for 30k achievement weapons. You could get any piece of armor or legendaries easier then you can get this set of ascended armor (and I would rather do that. I would rather craft 6 legendaries or get legend in 4 seperate pvp tournaments then grind 2k ranks in pvd, wvw). I have been playing since launch with over 6k hours and played gw1 since launch with GWAMM title, so please stop lumping everyone who dislikes this in the carebear “pve category.” The fact that getting this armor is so unreasonable for a person who has played wvw on and off for the past 5 years makes me think the game is going in the direction of korean grindfest mmo’s. I now feel like I want to quit the game entirely and uninstall it. So i guess if that’s what this was intending, and the community is fine with losing players like me, then there it is.
You said it, you played pve, spvp, and wvw, so it was just a part of the game for you like any other, do you know how many players log on, press B, join a borderland and thats gw2 for them, they do some pve stuff just to get better gear and weapons and thats it. do you know how many players dont even care about the legendary raid armor because they only enjoy wvw, and they have been loyal for years to this game mode? leading and working hard for their guild/server? dont they deserve something unique?
why every is so stressing out on this gear!! how it is fair when you work hard for years to get to platinum and diamond, then someone comes and get the same thing u have in 5 or 6 months? this Tier is made for those players only, so if u do raids and pve and pvp, this is not your gear my friend, you can get the legendary which is even better.
Good dayNobody forced them to only play WvW. They did that to themselves. There should not be a reward in ANY game that requires new players to focus 2 years of their game time to one mode. That’s ridiculous for ANY game mode. I would say the same kitten thing for ANY reward in ANY game mode. It’s just stupid.
Well said, especially from a casual mmo like gw2.
And for those players who are saying, WvW is easy, just follow the Zerg and press 1, and get your reward in the end, NO. if it wasnt for those skilled guilds dedicated to WvW with the right Builds, Gears and skills, Leading You guys!, a decent group, with half of the amount of players you have, will wipe you ass all day long, over and over again. let the WvWers leave the game mode for one day only, and see what will happen to you.

especially over a reward that all of you claim, you don’t care about since you play for the joy of playing wvw, why do you care if the requirement is lowered, it won’t affect any of you, you will still have it. You can’t argue this both ways.
(edited by Jumpin Lumpix.6108)
The rank of 2,000 is easy to obtain but you have to put the work in. When I started playing wvw daily all the time. I was rank 400 now 1.5 years later I am 1,356. So its not going to take you forever to get the ranks. 3 nights a week 3 hours each of those nights. Run your booster, guild boost, foods, and play in a zerg. It is very obtainable. It looks insane to the new people joining the WvW player base. But to us so does your raid armor and some of the other pve items you all have. Each game mode is different. Its not fair to the people who play this section of the game to have to wash away all of their hard work to make your life easier.
you say its easy and then in the next sentence you outline how you’ve done it for 1.5 years – 9 hrs a week and your still only 3/4ths the way there, that seems very unreasonable to me. Every other reward in the game is easier to obtain except for the 30k achievement point weapons. Why not lower the requirement? there is no good reason not too, why make it so frustrating?
you start off saying you have spent 360 hours since release in wvw and you are rank 364. What makes you think you should have the t3 chest and make it feel more useless to someone who plays the game for wvw? 360 hours to me is not a ‘good’ amount since release. its casual dip my toes in the water never run a proper build or coodinate with people or never joined a wvw guild.
Well I already have 3 characters in full ascended gear which I only use for wvw with optimised builds from meta battle. I also have legend 2xs from spvp. I’ve participated in all wvw tournaments. And I’m sorry but 360+ hours is a lot of gameplay. To compare I have 450 hrs on binding of Issac and have 100% the game and got every achievement. So calling me a noob pve who has just dipped my toe in, is just gross, incorrect and insulting. And apparently after having this for 360+ hrs I need to spend another 1700 hours to get a chest piece even though I’m min/maxing for ages. This I’d an unnecessary grind which borders on unhealthy and it does not motivate anyone to continue wvw to pursue it.

I see tons of people in wvw on maps that are full with 30-40+ ques and once you get in there are tons of afk people who have gotten participation already and stand there afk to milk the pips. We cant even get a full squad on eternal battle ground on blackgate because of this.
Sorry buddy but it’s literally like any other MMO game – rewards for newbies, regulars and then dedicated vets. Now if all these rewards etc were implemented on launch I doubt we’d have as much QQ… everyone would be on even footing.
It seems like a lot of players want everything handed to them on a silver platter these days. What ever happened to the days of people seeing someone with cool vet gear and thinking, hey that’ll be my goal instead of straight up QQ’ing about the requirements?
It’s like people DON’T WANT dedicated vet players who supported the game to have something nice, too. Sad. I understand there are unrewarding roles in WvW (read below).
Anyway, the actual glowy bits slapped onto the armor is just another generic lazy/flashy move and ain’t much different to previous tiers.
I’m all for new players having the opportunity to WORK TOWARDS said long term goals so I’ll pipe up about how they could’ve added in the oldschool WvW XP Booster or featured a better buff akin to PvP season ones, even to the extent of updating enrichment infusions for that added benefit.
Then there’s in game rewards; I feel like scouting/roaming solo etc isn’t as rewarding, nor were fight based guild scenarios. I know some players who barely ever capped objectives; fight orientated since launch and they’re only sitting around 1.7k…. ANet needs to revise rewards for those different roles.
Play how you want is an illusion; those who play all roles (scout, zerg, roam, GvG, solo etc) obviously reap in all the rewards and the game is moulded as such. Still believe all roles should be equally rewarded. Hope this makes sense.
probably because the most efficient way to rank up is pvd, by a landslide. So your definition of veteran or nooby is flawed from the start. its based on WvW rank, not skill or how well you destroy enemy players, or scout for commanders but if you auto attack doors in eotm. Also your saying that players who have 500 and 1k hours of play time in wvw fall into this “noobie” group because this amount of playtime will not get you anywhere near rank 2000.
the last backpiece need rank 350 ? oh.. ok.. there you go….
still don’t understand why you care if the reward is easier to get, you love the game mode remember? I want the reward, in a realistic time frame, why is that asking too much?
oh i think you misunderstood my tone….. "there you go " i meant “that’s it…..350”
yah i want the chest piece thats rank 2000
the last backpiece need rank 350 ? oh.. ok.. there you go….
still don’t understand why you care if the reward is easier to get, you love the game mode remember? I want the reward, in a realistic time frame, why is that asking too much? not to mention you get way more wvw rank from PvD instead of zerg vs zerg, havoc or roaming, why is this playstyle rewarded with rank more then others? Why is this justification for dedication to the game mode above all others?
(edited by Jumpin Lumpix.6108)
I have been working several years as a Game Designer myself. If you are in the industry for a few years you can see the intention of things without them being explained to you.
oh so its intentional that players are repulsed by the amount of effort, as opposed to motivated or reinvigorated to pursue the carrot?
You are not supposed to work towards the skin, you are supposed to play WvW regulary and enjoy the reward when it is time for it. Maybe Anet should hide the vendor tabs completly until you qualify for buying from them to prevent people grinding just for the reward.
who are you to tell me how to play the game or how to enjoy it? I mean think about it adding armor serves 2 purposes,
1) reward dedicated players
2) attract new players to play a lot more then they normally would (that would be me, even though I’ve played it a lot im still in this category)
at 2k rank it falls short, sure the dedicated players are fine but the 2nd group is too daunted, if you lowered the requirement then the dedicated players still get there reward, and the new players have something to work towards thats at least realistic. Why does anyone care about lowering the requirements, as you all said you played for the love of the game mode, so what do you care if a reward you didn’t even have before is slightly easier to get?
they need to remove the rank requirement from this armor
Is there anyway to lower the rank requirement for t3 armor from 2000 to say 500? Maybe 700 or even 1000? 2000 ranks requires you to play around 3-5 hrs a day in wvw mostly doing player vs door for a year. Any way you guys could reconsider, as I’ve lost motivation and feel it’s an egregious amount especially since I like zerg vs zerg and roaming and not pvd.
I’ve played a good amount of wvw since launch and am rank 364 with about 360 hrs in wvw. Feels unobtainable.
No, if you’re only rank 364 you havent done that much. Its a reward for dedicated players and so it should remain
really playing a game for 300+ hours for one type of game mode isnt that much? show me another game in which you cannot absolutely destroy in the same amount of play time?
This is a MMO, MMOs are supposed to last years, especially if you are completionist and want everything
I think its too much time for a skin, anything taking more then 500+ hours is gross and i feel repulsed, its having the opposite effect on me, instead of wanting to play wvw, I’m finding that i don’t want to play the game at all. And yes I do only play game modes for rewards, (I do not nor have I ever played a game to enjoy the game, my enjoyment of the game comes from obtaining rewards, at least in mmo’s) if there are no rewards I tend to not play the game mode, and this is too much, for a game mode I would otherwise play. If obtaining the reward was more reasonable or even realistic in that I could obtain it sometime within this year I would consider it, but its not which is why I think they should lower the requirements. Since this is a skin I specifically want for my main (i know personal issue) its making me not want to play at all. but I guess if the response is i should leave, qq some place else then fine i guess when wvw goes back to being deserted again in a couple of weeks nobody will be surprised.

really playing a game for 300+ hours for one type of game mode isnt that much? show me another game in which you cannot absolutely destroy in the same amount of play time?
Maybe 1% of the PVE people coming in will stay, and for that I am happy, but the rest are just vultures. Go play Blizzard games for items and grind. Peace!
Those vultures are the ones that allows you to even play that mode without further server linking.
Please explain.
In WvW there is a queue system. Now that Anet adds yet another carrot on a stick people are flodding to the borderlands to get shiny skins. Judging from this thread and also tonights team chat people only seem to care about “their rewards” and not the actual gameplay. This patch was nothing but a lame attempt to get more people into WvW but instead of improving the quality of the gameplay Anet adds some skins to attract people.. its so cheap imo. Once the people who only care about cosmetics get what they want, they’ll most likley leave.. I hope I’m wrong though.
This is my point exactly, if wvw is about playing the game mode and enjoying it, then why stick a reward so far out of reach. Why not lower the requirement so it’s reasonably obtainable, gets people interested in the game mode and if the game mode speaks for itself, after getting said reward, players will continue to play it for the enjoyment of it.
sorry man 360 hours in 5 years is not a lot…
I’ve been playing games for 25 yrs now 500 hrs for me in wvw and I’ve mastered 99% of the game mode, telling me I need to spend another 1500 hrs is ridiculous when I’ve already mastered it after about 50 hrs.
140 more hours in wvw in the last 5 minutes. impressive. sounds like you just want easy mode handouts. I hate grind in MMOs but this one isnt even bad if you actually played wvw consistently. At least come in with a valid argument and dont change your story. 360 hours in 5 years means you played 72 hours of wvw a year… please. ANET PLZ JUST GIMME LEGENDARY I PLAY WvW for 6 hours a month!
OK I’m rank 364 u do the math? 300 hrs 400hrs ,500hrs which number seems about right? How many hours do u think it takes a veteran gamer to master this game mode?! how many more hours until it becomes egregious? How many more hours after that until you get the reward?

I’ve gotten 20 ranks today in about 4 hours, do the math. It does not take 2000 hours to get 2000 ranks.
Don’t bother, look at this post histories, he complained about raid too. He just want baby effort mode.
U should read my posts I didn’t complain about them cuz I thought they were hard lol

rank 1500-2000 is fine, god forbid that the players who have stuck it out through almost 5 years get rewarded a bit more than the people just jumping in now for the skins.
really so 360 – 500 hrs of wvw and I’m only 1/8th the way there and that’s “just jumping in”?
Why do you want T3 armor?
just aesthetics, it looks cool. I almost wouldn’t mind getting rank 2k to get it, if getting such a high rank was skill based in some way. it just feels like pure grind.
Is there anyway to lower the rank requirement for t3 armor from 2000 to say 500? Maybe 700 or even 1000? 2000 ranks requires you to play around 3-5 hrs a day in wvw mostly doing player vs door for a year. Any way you guys could reconsider, as I’ve lost motivation and feel it’s an egregious amount especially since I like zerg vs zerg and roaming and not pvd.

this is why i don’t raid. I used to raid in wow, back in 2007 in 7th ranked top guild in the world. If i wanted to raid I would play wow. They need to make raids so easy, that you can bring any class, and put in an auto join LFG system.
They need to make raids so easy, that you don’t need to be on discord to strategize. Whenever you make raids hard = you have to talk to people = you need specific classes = people exclude others = people get mean. If it was easier it would be on par with all other content on this game which would mesh better with the type of audience this game has (this is coming from someone who has GWAMM from gw1, legend from sPVP tournaments and does wvw regularly on Blackgate so I’m familiar with difficult content that gw2 has to offer).
I actually want to raid and do the content but after playing online games since 2001 I can’t stand doing this type of activity with others any longer.
Since MMO sales around the world are down I’d assume that most people don’t enjoy this genre anymore either for the same reason/s as stated above.
I would gladly pay for an entire expansion if all it added to the game was dyeable channels for weapons and backpacks, and allowed us to apply glow/particle effects to armor/weapons and back pieces. Also visible jewelry, trinkets, and amulets on characters would be amazing.
what kinds of updates/content do you want to see?

I have played gw1 since launch as well as gw2 since launch, and the practice of taking away finished content because it was either exclusive or in the case of SAB is seasonal, in my opinion is whats ruining the PVE in this game. When they first announced a living world where content would be available and then would be permanently unavailable because its like the world is alive and so events come and go, I thought to myself – " well the only way that is going to work, is if they release a ton of content all the time which will have to be progressively better then the previous content, so that we don’t care about the old content which is now permanently gone, otherwise people are going to be mad or have regret or lose interest in the game." The end result is that they develop content and then take it away and give us long stretches of nothing.
I cant even count how many times I have done content and have gotten used to doing said content and even mastered it and mapped out routes or enjoyed running content with friends and developing a community around said content, only for the content to be taken away and the entire community that was based upon said content vanishes.
From what I see this practice of removing content makes people quit playing the game. I for one don’t enjoy it and feel a huge loss of motivation to keep playing. Simply knowing that SAB is going to be gone in 2 days only to be replaced with nothing, another long stretch of no content saps a lot of desire to keep playing.
Why doesn’t a-net make there content more permanent, knowing that its not feasible to create a real “living world” from a development perspective? It destroys nostalgia and feel good thoughts about the game as much of the content can never be re-experienced.
RIP – all of season 1, queens gauntlet, southsun cove + karka events, fractal events, (sab for now and its still unfinished).
Is there anyway you can remove the mechanic where the checkpoint kills you when your playing with others in Super adventure box in tribulation mode. Its very annoying as you get all the way to the checkpoint only for it to kill you because your standing there waiting for your teamates. This makes it actually easier to run tribulation mode solo, which in turn discourages multiplayer for tribulation mode.
Would be really cool if we could get a toggle option on the legendaries Eternity and Meteorlogicus so we could just permanently have on the day or night cycle version of these weapons at our choosing.
So me and my friend want to make a guild hall and fully decorate it. Once I looked into it i figured out I’m about 4 members too short to even claim the guild hall let alone be able to do the events to earn points to upgrade it in the future.
What is the point of even having scribe? It requires a huge guild with tons of people donating resources so that 2-3 people in a guild of 100+ get to have fun and enjoy all of the content that a-net made for guild halls. Why don’t they lower the bar for guild halls so that 1 person can buy a guild hall for around the cost of a legendary 3-4k and can fully upgrade it and deck it out w/cool decorations. Instead it requires multiple people to do events and 10k+ gold. Why would they make all of this content so that a small subset of the population (mainly guild officers/leaders) can enjoy the content. And no donating my trophies and gold and materials so 4 other people i don’t really know can have fun in guild halls is not my idea of a good time nor is it a good developer decision in my opinion.
Why not make it like how GW1 was? where 1 person can buy a guild hall and fully deck it out for around 200-300 platinum which for gw2 would cost about 500g.
Was looking at some paintings from Dutch Renaissance Painter Hieronymus Bosch & noticed both Skritt & Quaggans in the paintings.
picture 1-2 “The Haywain Triptych” c. 1516 – You can clearly see a quaggan
picture 3-4 “Death and the Miser” c. 1494 – There is a skritt and he’s even taking money from someone!
What they should do is check your account and see how much total gold your account has, and if you have more then 10k gold, then the TP fee for all items jumps from 15% to 20%. If you have more then 50k gold then it should go from 20% to 25% so on and so forth, then I might believe the 1% is noble.
and yes I know you could just use alt accounts to list items to avoid the increased listing fee or just invest gold into items to lower your accounts gold count, just like RL people do with offshore accounts in the Cayman islands but hey its more work for you. GGWP

Man I love the frost effect that comes off the skin, I don’t even mind that it makes your skin color more pale. But the blue hair kills it for me.
So what’s to stop people from not playing the entire season, and then on the last day, play 10 placement matches and go 10-0 w/another pro player, and get rank 1-5 w/out having really played compared to others.
