Changed the class name “Guardian” to “Useless”
MMR really needs to be overhauled as the only thing it looks at is whether the person wins or loses and what is there current pip range.
Saying that a person has low MMR because they “lost” is an extremely undefined broad statement. Some people lose because they aren’t good, or that they have bad internet, or they are trolling, or any other manner of random variable which can make a person “lose”.
MMR doesn’t even focus on the points scored in a match. The algorithm which calculates MMR can’t even tell if a person who lost a match, lost because they got outplayed by the opposing team? Or is this a person who lost because they stood afk at the start. They are all the same thing.
If you want to say “well they cant let points in a match affect MMR, then they could just manipulate the points in the match by capping/de-capping points to get a high score.” Well that would at least let you weed out people who d/c or are afk. Secondly they could overhaul the point system as well so capping points don’t add to your score, only kills do or only capping points and holding them for a certain amount of time gives any points.
By not differentiating why people win or lose and factoring in those extra variables, we get a very bland stale sPvP season where people TRY to get better and are paired with people who troll/afk ect. and then they give up because the system isn’t even remotely reflective of a players skill level.
This is why people say “getting legend doesn’t mean anything” Because the algorithm for MMR isn’t advanced enough and needs to take into account other variables rather than just win/loss and pip range.
(edited by Jumpin Lumpix.6108)
season 3 we get both
i.e.red – blue
8 – 8
8 – 9
9 – 8
8 – 9
9 – 8something like that maybe.
otherwise, one team gonna have slightly higher overall MMR.Season 1 would have been closer:
6 – 7
6 – 5
5 – 5
5 – 4
4 – 4Your season 2 example is accurate, though could be closer in some circumstances.
Season 3 will be like a sorted version of season 1:
4 – 5
4 – 5
4 – 6
5 – 6
5 – 7
So i assume this will still cater to ppl getting trapped in MMR hell, only slightly less so? Once you start losing you will still be paired with other people who consistently lose. So I guess the advice is if you win keep playing, if you lose no advice really.
Additionally are you resetting MMR for everyone with season 3? If not then players will be stuck before they even begin.
Best to put them out of their misery. When are the char going to build a factory for processing quaggan into dried edible snacks? At least then everyone will be able to enjoy their presence.
This was such a bad decision to postpone legendary weapons. Its one of the few things I was actually looking forward to.
They said they’re going to add new content and events in living world for everyone to enjoy. Legendaries, however, are the only thing to work towards. They are pretty much a major component of gw2 endgame. So whats the point of doing said events if there is nothing to buy or work towards or accumulate resources for?
They really screwed up and in hindsight the only reason these weapons aren’t released is because they made it so that all the legendary precursors have to be obtained through a series of complicated quests which require too many programmer resources to implement. They should have left out all quests for the original precursors and only done them for the expansion precursors.
That way we already would of had all of the HoT legendaries in the game already.
As I’m sure the skins for all of them are already completed and just sitting there but their precursor quest lines are what isn’t complete.

So i can assume that this sword in the birthday finisher is either the legendary GS or one handed sword. Look at the animation effect in the background of the planet (similar to twilight/sunrise) , that’s probably going to be part of a legendary as well.
I honestly think people make these threads just to announce that they have Eternity, lol.
I don’t have Eternity, I’m not buying it because I cant match it w/anything FeelsBadMan
As a wielder of Eternity, I endeavor to make it clash horribly with everything I wear…
well played sir. Well played
I like the top hat
ok he’s somewhat redeemed he did make it better. I wanna see more pics if anyone has them?
If they can match Eternity to their armor.
Oh you mean like how this guy pulled it off, whom I just saw by chance with the weapon…
he has Eternity, and uh… white/red/black and some spikes and stuff…..
not a clown at all >.> tertiary and complimentary and <insert generic artistic term here which describes whatever that is>.
(edited by Jumpin Lumpix.6108)
How are we supposed to dye our armor if this thing always changes? Am I supposed to make a black/red armor for night and white/gold separate armor set for day?
Or maybe a black/white/red/gold armor like a godkitten clown? MOST expensive item in the game why not make it unique like this, instead of some stupid switcheroo?
https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/198096/Eternity_Idea.jpg
I could match that, its like blue/purple/silver.
Or perhaps my thread where i suggested a toggle? But nobody gave a crap. First world problems bro.
well in light of all the trolls who thought this system of pvp was perfect even though I said endlessly that the SPvP is a joke and that so many changes are needed, especially to the pip system/ranking/esports rules.
I’m gonna say getting DDoSed is a L2P issue and he ended up ranking where he belonged. Kappa
Would be really nice if there was an option to choose between day/night effects for legendaries that have it. This would be useful if you like the way a weapon looks perhaps during the day, but not how it looks at night, so you could have an option to choose how it appears at will.
by right clicking on a legendary which has a day/night effect change you could add 3 additional options:
1- toggle on day effects
2- toggle on night effects
3- switch to day/night auto toggle effects (default – which is what it is now)
I’ve notice that since they’ve revised dungeon rewards to increase the gold received and added a 2g reward to the dailies that the price of almost everything on the TP has gone through the roof. Legendaries are way up from what they were before as are regular crafting materials.
I’ve also noticed gem prices at a steadily increasing high over the past week, it’s now at 25g + for 100 gems.
Any form of a gold sink coming out anytime soon or can we expect prices to go into the stratosphere?
so It’s almost season 3 now and with the latest balance patch the same 4/5 classes are still meta since season 1-2. Pretty much its always Mes, Rev, Engi, and sometimes druid/ele and rarely thief. Necro got knocked out this season and Guardian/Warrior are obsolete.
Whats lame about most of the top classes is that they are running the exact same builds throughout each season – slightly modified of course.
http://academygamingnet.com/guild-wars-2-class-tier-list-april-27th-2016/
The focus of every meta build always revolves around tanky specs – (picking Wanderer’s amulet or Mercenary’s for that Toughness and Vitality.) – and this makes sense as the game mode revolves around capping and HOLDING points. Additionally downed state mechanics encourage you to have enough sustain that you can actually finish an opponent off.
So what we see each season in pro-league is around 3-4 tanky classes an ele, an engineer and sometimes a mesmer who are meant to stand on points and hold them and finish off downed opponents because they can withstand the dmg to do these tasks.
The other 1-2 classes are burst classes usually filled by rev and thief and sometimes mesmer. They roam around the map and help team-mates defend or assault on/near points to get enemies into downed states but they usually don’t finish opponents off unless tankier team-mates aren’t around.
So would be nice if perhaps some of these specs had defensive CD’s removed or totally revamped. Perhaps add in new sPvP maps that don’t revolve around capping and holding points.
Remove downed state from the game entirely is also an option, although, even though this mechanic is what makes Gw2 unique among mmo’s, it still promotes a tanky meta or manipulation of mechanics that revolve around raising downed teammates (such as search and rescue from druid in season 2).
Additionally, adding new skills or new functionality to existing skills might really make it a lot more exciting.
Would be nice if season 3 was different from the last 2 seasons.
yah except for how OP chronomancer is and how nerfed into oblivion guardian is in general.
nerfing True Shot dmg by 20% has effectively changed DH from “oh a DH i can counter it with reflects, dodge rolls and ccing/focus fire, but I better be careful because it can burst me hard if I don’t pay attention to it” into “Oh a DH i can counter it all the same ways as above only I don’t really need to pay too much attention to it because it doesn’t do that much dmg anymore”
Talking about Hunter’s ward as the skill that really needs work? That skill has a 40 sec CD, who cares how they change this skill, it rarely affected the outcomes of any of my games, maybe only team fights and only rarely against 1 person.
True Shot is on a 4 sec CD and its dmg was cut by 1/4, we aren’t even a threat anymore, Its True Shot that wins in most fights not Hunter’s ward or any other DH skill.
Would be really nice if participation in sPvP and/or WvW would allow for experience gain towards either HoT or Tyria mastery tracks of your choosing.
Gets old doing these activities endlessly because I enjoy them, but none of my time spent doing them counts towards any masteries.
This might become a glaring problem for wvw when they add gliding to it which is affected by masteries. (I.e. you use gliding in wvw but can only level it up in pve.)
Even with the unnerfed true shot, hunter’s ward AND the buffed deflecting shot and symbol of energy damage as well as the base guardian shout and virtues buff, guardians still wouldn’t be anywhere close to a top 4 class.
At best, it’d be a viable 5th and that’s its absolute ceiling.
I agree and to that end they should un-nerf true shot at least and/or buff it by making it unblockable so tons of classes can’t reflect it like engineer or elementalist
OK so far when I said un-nerf true shot dmg, the responses are “RE-roll another class” or “dh dmg is fine were it is, and it needed to be nerfed” this in light of the fact that dh is currently the least viable class to play in Spvp. So no buff necessary apparently and or go play completely different class.
GG guys GG
yah let’s leave guardian how it is, the worst class in SPvP – no balance necessary, right guys? yahhhhh…. you guys probably don’t even play the class – clearly since you make stupid comments like I reflect DH damage or in your signature it says you play warrior and ranger – GG WP nerds
I don’t really need a lesson in risk vs reward, I’m trying to point out that there is no logic in what they do and that its totally rigged, like they play favorites with people who happened to buy early BLT skins but everyone else can go f- themselves – its dumb and nonsensical – if it was up to me I’d make a ton of weapon sets exclusive but they decided to re-release them all minus 2 sets – its ridiculous.
So, your point is “They’re watching what we buy and trying to deliberately punish people who bought later Black Lion skins”. Good to know I don’t have to take you seriously.
well think about it – they re-release the halloween skins from the first year in a lottery – implying that yes these skins are indeed exclusive (since its the reward of a lottery) at the same time they have a lot of other sets that are exclusive (no longer obtainable except for on the TP, such as Aetherized, fused, zodiac, dreamthistle)
So you would think OHH there making things exclusive like the early sPVP armor that still isn’t re-released. Then in one fell swoop they re-release all of them from content that doesn’t even financially benefit them – like aetherized weapons being dropped in fractals.
and they even release 2 halloween skins in the mystic forge with the latest patch – its like they cant decide to make things exclusive or not exclusive and then when they decide to make them non exclusive, they do it half baked and they don’t release everything that was previously exclusive at the same time – none of it makes any sense and in turn it does indeed favor those who bought the exclusive weapon sets which they didn’t re-release, because they just happened to overlook those or not get around to re-releasing them in some form back into the game.
so yah that is playing favorites in some form, it makes no sense and you can rationalize it anyway you like ( oh they haven’t gotten around to it yet or they forgot about those weapon sets and now they remember and their going to release it sometime in the future) why not release it all at the same time? why give some players INSANE profits and others you screw, try to balance the game and TP and try to do it fairly would be nice and stop waffling on idea’s of exclusivity with your programming decisions.
Otherwise you’ll just get more players who are annoyed by this like myself and others, and those people might stop playing, and from the looks of it lately gw2 can use all the players it can get.
(edited by Jumpin Lumpix.6108)
A-net can you please return True Shot on Dragon hunter back to its previous damage? – get rid of the 20% nerf, DH was fine where it was before – thanks
How do you know that they are not going to release the fused weapons? Do you have a source, or only a rant.
how do you know they are going to release them? so far they haven’t? so that pretty much validates my whole argument
Gambling is always going to be a risk. You take a risk, and you might not come out on the winning side.
So I love how tons of people lost money (including myself) on gambling on the value of items like Dreamthistle skins, Zodiac skins, and Aetherized weapon skins only to have A-net re-release these in ridiculous methods like “Oh now there just in black lion chests” you don’t even need a ticket to get them or anything they’re just in there now.
Or my favorite the Aetherized weapons are just in fractals now – rightttt…..
But for some reason people who hoarded Fused weapon skins or the Halloween skins. NO NO NO its OK – let them make tons of money and let them go up to 2k gold plus on the Trading post and the people who bought 50 of them at the time they were 8g and 30g a piece respectively that’s fine – cuz you know “Reasons”… lets let those people make TONS of money cuz that makes sense- gg wp
PS. I also like it when you guys do that with Dyes too, like – UH OH they’re getting expensive time to re-release them for NO REASON whatsoever..
just re-release everything, no point in even making anything exclusive anymore since you re-released everything minus 2 sets of weapons
(edited by Jumpin Lumpix.6108)
ya was the necro in that match with you, was bs didnt get any pips either =(
Pass me the account info. I’ll get it out of “mmr hell” and into legendary for you.
Sure you will. If you’re so hot, do it. You can do it all by yourself. Just make an alt account. Deliberately tank the character – get the win/loss ratio at about 47% or lower – usually takes about 100 losses – you usually need a long consecutive streak to catch the loss bus. Now start streaming. Breeze your way to legendary from there. Do it. Prove it.
Or shut up.
Sorry I upset you. Pass me your info too and I’ll get you out of emerald.
You didn’t upset me. I’m in ruby. Why on earth would I pass my acct info to u? Just pair up w/ me and get me out of ruby. Or, make an alt acct yourself, tank it, and then stream the ride up. GL!
Why would I team up with you to carry you out of ruby when the whole point is to show that getting to legendary can be done solo even with low mmr as long as you improve your game.
People need to stop making excuses and improve at the game. Coming to the forums and complaining about mmr hell is never going to help you.
I’m already legend, how am i supposed to “improve at the game” on my alt ruby account when i get teammates with downs syndrome?
Played 2 matched today, on my alt account, solo capped mid, won a 2v1 at mid and also won 2 other 1v1’s while capping home and supported others at initial mid fight and won that fight as well and also helped in various team fights on different nodes… still lost because the enemy team as a whole out rotated us and my team members were doing i dunno what while i was soloing 2 ppl.
regardless of what you say I am having to play at 120% to even remotely win a game in ruby, the amount of effort is 10x that of legend games, where as in legend if i play normally like not having to do 2v1 bullkitten to turn the match around, i can win because my team mates support me.
I played 5 games on my legend account today and won all 5 games – some were close but still won.
Lmao, what a joke. People have streamed all kinds of accounts to legendary. I have personally have already done a no-HoT f2p warrior.
Not good enough. We have to throw FIFTY games first. As in cause 200 other players to lose, intentionally. I don’t think I could lose 50 times if I were AFK, not to mention what a kitten move it would be to even try.
Ya’ll are grasping at straws looking for any excuse to avoid the obvious: you are not very good.
f2p accounts have 50% mmr which is much higher win ratio then an account with a loss streak. So no its not grasping at straws, you need to lose about 50 times so you can simulate low MMR and the situation that creates. If you make a new F2p account and you win you will get good teamates and win streaks, this proves nothing. Did you even read my post?
getting into a situation where your MMR is low and you are on a loss streak is the most important factor to MMR hell, any other factor, such as streaming on a f2p account with a non meta build is almost irrelevant to this variable.
Yeah, I read your post. I also read the part where you thought full capping far by yourself was a good way to carry a bad team.
I asked for an account in so-called MMR hell. Nobody wants to pony up. I’m not throwing 50 games and causing 200 teammates to lose. That’s the opposite of what I do.
no one is going to share an account with you, and your basing your opinion about me based on one example i gave, wow. Pretty short sided You must be so much better than me, with me being in legendary and all.
You can’t carry when your teammates are afk at start or run into a 1v4 multiple times die instantly, then sit there afk at start and give up. Try winning with those variables… Take the time to lower your MMR so you can experience this yourself. I’m not impressed.
and good players lost a lot in amber when the season first started, and MMR and divisions weren’t part of the equation. I got in this situation with my alt account because i actually experimented with builds and subsequently lost to pro teams while experimenting in amber. So loss streaks can happen to anyone, even good players.
(edited by Jumpin Lumpix.6108)
I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that people are still arguing about whether or not MMR hell exists or not. It’s ridiculously obvious to me.
Top tier players simply don’t want it to exist because if it is actually properly fixed then next season these players wont have as easy of a time.
Use common sense here: look at you teammates, do they play the same as you? Look at all these “top players” streaming, do their teammates play the same as them?
When you see some ESL player streaming from a brand new alt acc with a fresh MMR of 1 (which can be argued as above average) and they start going at it, the players they are paired with get closer and closer to their level as they proceed – Hence this absolutely DOES NOT disprove MMR hell.
When you see a GOOD player streaming who claims they are stuck in MMR hell, look at their teammates, look at what their teammates do, it is so obvious to me. When you see someone winning 1v2s while they have 2 teammates capping home at the start of a game, or you see the same person constantly running far and dying the whole match… It’s just so obvious.
I’m disappointed in the community on this issue.
The only way an ESL player will prove it to me that they can pull out of MMR hell, is if they make an alt char and deliberately tank the mmr to a substantially low mmr (presumably something around a 47% win/loss ratio) and THEN start streaming their crawl back to the top. Then we can really see how hard it really is, and we can also see how frustrating an experience it is for them.
Until then, they just need to be quiet and more humble.
people already did that
No one has tanked their mmr/win/loss ratio and then streamed it. No one has shown a win loss ratio of about 47/48% and then moved up. Losing 15 games does not create low mmr and does not even necessarily start the loss train. They need to tank it good – 40 or 50 straight losses, 100% solo que with no exploits, and then some more either losses consecutively or intermittently. Then stream the ladder climb.
Lmao, what a joke. People have streamed all kinds of accounts to legendary. I have personally have already done a no-HoT f2p warrior.

Feel free to provide me with an account in “MMR hell”. I will stream the results and you can all watch me get Legend within 24 hours.
I’d thoroughly enjoy hearing the backpedaling and excuses as to why that “doesn’t prove anything” so people can cling to the hope that they aren’t awful.
you really think you can win, when you solo cap far, kill 2 enemy teammates on the way and then look over and your entire team is dead? Just happened to me last match.
Can you provide a GW2 efficiency link for your alt? Or SSs of your wins/losses on your alt?
here’s screenshot of my alt in ruby – been playing mostly necro on it.
here is a screenshot of my main account in legend

that is not a bug that’s hacking almost sure of it
So I just hit legendary rank today on my main account, I’ve prob played with a couple of you in diamond. Did it 100% solo q as a dragon hunter from amber to diamond and then necro from diamond to legend.
I have an alt account in which I play the exact same classes/builds as my main. I play on this account occasionally to test builds, and as such got a loss streak on my alt account of about 15+ at the very beginning of the tournament when I was in amber. My alt account is now ruby. Whenever I play on my alt account, I hardly win any games at all, mostly because my teammates are so horrible. The more I lose because of my teammates, the lower my MMR goes and the crappier teammates i get.
On my legend account I get good team support and make quite a lot of game saving plays as I am a good player. On my alt account those plays are wasted as team members do stupid things like not fighting on points, engaging in 1v4’s and not raising teammates, or my personal favorite, 1 goes home, 2 go mid and 2 go beast – gg.
This MMR is BS and as a solo q player it doesn’t even remotely reflect the skill level of the individual. When you get trapped in low MMR Hell it is nearly impossible if not impossible to get out of it with solo q. Once your win loss ratio drops below 50% you are screwed, you get afker’s trolls and even people in lower divisions, such as people who are in amber and emerald. -the enemy team is of course composed of full rubies.
In addition to this you get everyone that is considered a “bad Player” regardless of skill – trolls who throw matches, afkers, ppl who dont know how to play pvp at all + people with bad internet connections as well as people who don’t even own HOT and are playing vanilla builds
-I don’t know why as a paying customer of HoT that I should be pared with people who don’t even own the expansion pack and cannot even make any of the meta builds or be seriously competitive.
and don’t say form a team as a solution, as forming a team negates MMR and completely takes it out of the equation. I’m doing this to see how MMR works and its abysmal in soloq and needs to be completely reworked.
In addition to this when you get in low MMR you cannot even form a team as nobody wants to join with a player who has low MMR as it might lower theirs or ruin their win streak – Teams ALWAYS ask if you have a win streak or loss streak and they also ask you your win % ratio vs total games played, if they are serious.
For anyone stuck in this scenario you have my sympathies, if you get to around 45% win ratio it completely ruins pvp and makes it unplayable and really NOT fun at all.
Update – I played 6 matched on my legend account today 3/25 and won all 6 games, some of them were close but still won, all on my necro build.
I played 4 games on my alt account in ruby today all on my necro, and lost all 4 games in a row. In one of the games i won a 2v1 and 2 seperate 1v1’s resulting in me capping a node as well as solo capping mid, all in the same match and winning the initial mid fight. I still lost this same game, because my team was out rotated and I’m not sure what my team mates were doing at far or why they were fighting on the treb for 2 minutes straight or why one of the 2 dragon hunters on my team wouldn’t switch to necro or revenant or some other build besides 2 dragon hunters, especially when the enemy team deliberately re-rolled engi to counter them. This is just one example of many.
I am having to play 10x harder on my ruby account to even remotely have a chance of winning compared to playing on my legend account, and even that is not enough in most cases and most of my good plays are completely wasted as stated above.
Edit – added screenshots -
1st pic – my character
2nd pic – legend account stats
3rd pic – ruby alt account stats – playing same necro build on both accounts on the same day.

I am not pro and I do not expect my teammates are the best.
FOX…
and clearly you never will be pro, should stick to amber where you belong. =)
10/10 would Colin back again
I love how anytime people lose the opponents are well organized teams on TS.
2 matches definitely were, 3 people from pvp guild w/tag “oRLY” and 3 people from mist initiative and they were unbelievably organized
at one point i went to treb mid in khylo, and instantly 3 people came out to destroy treb, once they came out they let the engineer run up to me and the other 2 split off, one headed home the other headed far, id say they were on ts w/that kind of coordination.
The MMR score as a placement of skill is completely ridiculous.
In SPvP a team of 4 people can carry a team but not a team of 3 or less. So if you soloq and then the MMR matches you with players who aren’t good and then it continues doing so, you will never advance, especially if it deliberately stacks the enemy team with slightly better players.
Better of course could mean, is a better SPvP player or is familiar with all of the maps, or has a meta build which is strong vs most builds currently, or simply is on a win streak and is getting carried by other players who are good.
This leaves no room for players who are good or bad (skill becomes almost irrelevant) to ever advance if they get low MMR due to the system deliberately stacking players who aren’t good.
Not good could mean, they’re botting, afk, not good at SPvP, have a bad internet connection in fact there’s way more variables that would dictate if a player is bad then good none of which have to do with “git gud”. So when ppl say “l2p” or “get better” or “carry your team” It’s impossible as soloq with the current matchmaking system.
You can play like a god and if 4 other people on your team suck, or die instantly or dc at the start or just play really poorly your screwed.
Let’s say you have MMR score of 1. That means everyone else has an MMR that is higher then you. No big deal if your a good player who cares right? Only it will then match you with players who also have an MMR of 1 which again they could be bad players for a ton of reasons if not all mentioned reasons above, and they will get placed with you constantly on your team.
The enemy team will be matched with higher MMR players than you (because you are at the very bottom, you cant go any lower). Good luck advancing, and good luck getting paired with the 20 or so odd godly players in the whole game, who also happen to be down on their luck with low MMR as well.
I challenge anyone even pro players to lower their MMR and then soloq and try to win matches.
They would be better off matching players with other players in their pip range and just making it random. The entire MMR system is cumbersome, redundant and needlessly penalizing and not required.
yah I know you can make a 5 man group, but 5v5 premade is a completely different beast from soloq infact it might as well be completely different pvp just like in gw1 where they had random arenas and team vs team arenas.

So i blitzed through emerald and half way through sapphire on 12+ win streaks on my dh. Sounds great and all but my friend who is an equally good player as myself started out in amber by getting a slew of afkers who wanted to get the daily and/or still thought that lowering mmr before playing was still a good idea.
So i decide to team up with him to get him out of emerald because he had a 15 game loss streak and I figured well my MMR is hi, and I’m sapphire so we’ll be paired with other people in Sapphire.
Here’s what happened, I went from a win streak of 8 to losing 7 games in a row because the enemy team consisted of 5 sapphire players, all of whom were good or were in groups of 3 on ts. My team was composed of me a sapphire player and my friend an emerald player followed by another sapphire player who had an amber player with them.
This happened 6 out of 7 of the games. So obviously when you try to help lower mmr/tiered friends out by partying with them, it parties you up with other people who are trying to do the same.
Everytime we would join we would have another group of 2 players one from sapphire and one from either amber or emerald in our team and the amber and emerald player would always be horrible. Like really horrible to the point where it was rediculous.
I also have no proof of this but i noticed a significant drop in the quality of sapphire players I had on my team once he was joined in my party, so I’m not sure if some MMR averaging was going on there or what?
So yah, I wouldn’t recommend partying with low MMR players either. All i can say is RIP if you get low MMR because there is just about nothing you can do except for maybe organize a 5 man.
(edited by Jumpin Lumpix.6108)
OP, please go ahead and make a thread complaining about how you are on a lose streak and that it’s very unfair for anet to do this to such an expert pvper such as yourself.
I’m already sapphire, fyi
When your waiting for the match to being, you should not be allowed to see what the enemy teams composition is and then change your class accordingly, its completely unfair and gives a distinct advantage to those who have every class ready to go at the click of a button.
its also completely counter to esports, imagine if in league of legends i saw the entire enemy team and then said oh well i guess ill play this character now. ridiculous.
All anyone ever does is bring tanky bs to matches, they roll rev or aura ele and they take 0 damage, do almost no damage themselves and all there skills revolve around cleansing conditions, raising dead people and healing.
It makes the fights drag on forever, (like in season 1) its boring to watch and play, and if your team doesn’t have one in your party and the other does, you lose.
at least if were going to soloq make it so that, it ensures that both teams have one of these healer/tank builds on there party or get rid of them and eliminate vit, toughness and healing power from the amulets.
I haven’t played any WvW since the expansion hit, But I’m wondering what happened to Blackgate? It used to be #1 and now its beaten by Yak’s bend? Tarnished Coast is like gone as well and JQ is somewhere in the middle.
Let me guess everyone transferred from Tarnished coast and Blackgate to Yak’s Bend for some reason that nobody can figure out?
Who would of thunk it. Guild content designed for groups of people to accomplish.
This wasn’t personal player housing they were making. In-fact I’m pretty sure what you are describing is what they were trying to avoid all together. I can imagine they want to avoid data and server resources it would take have to store and load a customized instance for each single player that wants a guild hall, and the server resources it would take to have public instances of all those custom instances running simultaneously. That really doesn’t benefit anyone, so the designed it around giving guilds something to work towards and share.
It is working as intended for alot of guilds. Something that guilds could work on long term and make into their own and big enough for everyone to take part in customization with being big enough to add since of exploration.
I have seen some guilds as small as 10-20 people turn out some really impressive halls, but those players played enough to have the resources and dedication to earn it. And, if you are in a guild only the guild leader and officers have decorating privileges, you are in the wrong guild. There are many guilds like mine that extend privileges to the vast majority of members because Guild Halls are for the entire guild to enjoy.
right because its not annoying at all to decorate an entire area of the guild hall yourself only to have one troll guild member with privileges tear all your decorations down. This is another reason you might want to decorate an entire hall yourself, with your own resources and time.
And as far as the cost to the servers go, I paid $100 for the deluxe expansion i would say that would cover the cost of my own personal instanced guild hall, and not to mention how much development and time went into making guild halls so that again only a small number of individuals or like minded individuals can actually experience it. Your example Is in the minority of users I am sure.
They actually developed an entire new crafting class and how many people actually use it? Usually each guild has only one guild scribe, anymore would be redundant, why bother making such complex content for only one person per guild to enjoy?

When I first read about guild halls, I thought that this would be content that we could all experience. Similarly to Guild Wars 1 where you could buy a guild hall by yourself or with one other person and fully upgrade it if you had enough money.
Likewise in this game I was able to buy a guild and upgrade all the bank tabs with my own money (which is nice).
Once HoT came out though I realized that the only way to decorate (or even claim) a guild hall is to basically have 10+ people in your guild. It gets even worse in that even with 10 people you need to spend a tremendous amount of time and gold to decorate or unlock any of it.
So in reality if you want to play all of the new content they made for guild halls, which was a huge chunk of the development of this expansion, you need to be:
1) in a guild with at least 50+ people in order to unlock the content in a reasonable/affordable manner.
2) be one of the few officers/or leaders who has permissions to actually decorate the guild hall.
Why does ArenaNet spend so many resources on content that only a VERY SMALL subset of the population – (guild officers/leaders of guilds with 50+ members in them) can experience. I’d like to spend my guild decorations and decorate my own guild hall, why not make this content more accessible to everyone?
and no making a guild and recruiting 50+ members on my own, is a horrible solution to this problem as I already have a guild/s that I enjoy being in, I don’t want to form a new guild just so I can play house decorator and use my decorations that I earned through content.

I have done countless events where I didn’t realize that my Mastery Tier was Maxed out, and none of the extra experience gained afterwards is counted towards any other tier… It’s just wasted.
So would be nice to either store this experience in an overflow until you select a new mastery line and then apply it. Or simply automatically unlock the selected mastery line once its maxed out, and then automatically start a new mastery line for us so additional experience applies to that.

So here’s how this works, one of the person’s that you downed put a condition on one of your teammates. That teammate that had the downed players condition on him then transferred his conditions to the other downed player. When you stomped the down player who had the other downed players conditions transferred to him it counted as a rally because those conditions that were transered to his ally are still flagged as his own so he rallies off the death of his teammate even though they’re on the same team
