I was wondering if anyone knows if the material cost of crafted infusions will go down in the near future. I’m talking about the ones that have a stat on them and agony resistance, more specifically the Omni Infusions.

Currently 6 Omni infusions on armor costs about 1,000 gold (250 t6 material + 100 Passion Flowers for one), so I’m wondering if there is anything in the near future which might lower the material cost?

I also noticed that a +30 agony infusion was recently data mined, so I’m wondering if they are going to be upping the agony infusion requirements for content and thus lowering the material costs of the infusions themselves.

not to mention the whole Mursaat spectral agony thing…

If a dev could weight in or something it would be appreciated.

So I think it would be a cool to share your biggest trading post Flipping flops, or mess-ups, or duds, in which you lost a ton of money by speculating. So I’ll go first

Bonetti’s Rappier – I bought these after the Chest Farm in Silverwastes, They were at about 5g, and then they spiked to 20g the next day…. Now previously before the chest farm they were selling at like 80g.

So I thought well surely they will go up to like 20g-30g or something so I bought about 25 of them at 15g… Well as you can see there now 8g on the TP with probably no chance of going up anytime soon… woops lol.

Trick or Treat Bags – bought them as Halloween ended, for 5s 43c, I thought, Surely they’ll go up like the other years ToT Bags did.. Nope Maize balm was the death of me now there at like 4s and I bought about 4k of them. Woops.

[Suggestion] Change "Retreat" Shout

I think it would be better to change the shout “Retreat” to “Charge” and the corresponding shout dialogue. It’s a little odd when I’m doing a dungeon or wvw and were all running forward and my character shouts retreat!?

It’s even more unsettling and confusing when activating all of my shouts and it says, “Stand Your Ground” followed by “Hold the Line” followed by “Retreat” lol?

Charge would be good or something like it since it has to do with sprinting.

So its been posted to death that everyone is somewhat sick of people saying go zerker stat or get out. Its mostly because with berserker stats you kill faster then any other stat combination, and if you die due to low defenses/healing power then groups simply kick you and say you didn’t dodge well enough or your a noob and get out of the party.

So in light of this I’ve come up with a solution to fixing the zerker meta we are all so familiar with, in order to grant some build diversity to the game. (your welcome arenanet) \(>.^)/

so in the classic meta setup, for a dungeon group you run 5 berserker stat group members (class combination is optional looking at u warriors/mes/guard’s). No other stat combination really has a place in this setup if your going for the fastest clear time, unless you implement a new mechanic.

Simply add a flag to each character which recognizes the primary armor/trinket/weapon stat combination each character has. If more pieces of gear come up as being Power/precision/ferocity, flag that character as a berserker character. (additionally flag any character as whatever there primary stat is, rabid, apothecary ect.)

If 3 (number of group is optional) or more characters are flagged in a group as a berserker character (or any stat combination if you prefer) Then the boss/mobs gain a debuff (we’ll call it enrage) where if you do too much damage to it too quickly, (or if just too many group members in the party have the same stats), the boss/mobs gain stacks of enrage thus making the mob/mobs hit harder and do more damage or inflict more conditions (ie make the fight harder or unbeatable).

If the group slows down dps then the stacks wane or dissipate, thus drawing the fight out, as the group will have to throttle there dps and balance between hurting the boss and gaining stacks of enrage. However as a berserker, this makes the fight much harder as most berserker groups rely on fast dps to kill before most boss mechanics really kick in.

The majority of dungeon groups who stack berserker members with this mechanic will either wipe, because they dps too fast and the boss will enraged from gaining too many stacks. Or they throttled there dps and thus will most likely be killed by the regular mechanics being drawn out, as berserker stats grant no defenses.

This will allow for more build diversity at the very least as groups will be forced to take members with other stats (perhapse 1 or 2 to avoid enrage stacks) or to simply not dps any boss/mob too quickly (whichever mechanic you prefer). Thus forcing groups to take a more balanced build/group to tackle the majority of the content.

as for world bosses this probably wont work, but for small group content it is a viable solution.

well thanks to arenanet not allowing any kind of way to limit 2v1, all 3 servers in t1 have nobody to fight now. TC and JQ wont fight each other and BG is now outmanned on EBG on a weekend, during a tournament, in t1 gold.

RIP wvw good job arenanet. Guess everyones gonna go play a diff game now.

If JQ and TC don’t want to mess with their scorings, it’s just not take the objectives (thus not affecting the ppt) and do some open field battles for fun.

And blackgate have two endless hordes of people that want them dead to fight against… So they have quite a bunch of people to fight too.

And about being outmanned on Eternal Battleground… Friend, my server have outmanned buff on Eternal battleground (and in at least one other map) 24/7 in non-league weeks… Don’t come crying to me about that because you don’t know how bad it can get.

Yeah what you don’t realise is we aren’t blaming BG for our server’s current status. We are letting you know that your situation is not unique in the slightest and that there are servers who faced odds like this for the last year and have never flooded the forums with threads crying about WvW not being fair. In fact 2 to 1 odds in nothing compared to the 5 or even 10 to 1 man odds I have seen in some match ups in the bottom tiers.

I will admit I complained about free transfers but more about their poor implementation and lack of limits. If the bottom servers got no sympathy after free transfers left several servers all but empty expect no sympathy being on the server that buys guilds and placed 1st in gold last season.

the reason your seeing an increase in posts is because a lot of wvw players play on blackgate. When they experience bad mechanics there will be a lot more posts complaining then on lower servers. And im not expecting sympathy? For all I care u guys can all just transfer to BG and we can all be friends again. THey need to fix wvw it is a POS that is not being played.

And why BG is crying here like if anyone else care about how they are feeling? WvW is meant to be a unfair kind of pvp… If you want a balanced and fair pvp mode, spvp is where it is.

This is why people dislike BG and to a lesser extent T1 in general. You act like T1 is the end all be all of WvW, but based on these forums I would say its more of a cesspool. WvW will be just fine if any of the servers on T1 implode, in fact I would say its better off. As much as I hate leagues if it causes any of the T1 servers to SoR it I will think of the season as a success.

you mistook my message, I was saying that there is no activity in tier 1 not because tier 1 is the best but because it is the most active, and due to arenanets lack of balancing or interviening nobody is playing now on the most populated servers

heh If you wanna fight without honor…I’ll fight sans honor as well…But wvw gets extremely ugly from here out…

There was never “honor” in WvW. How can drastically outnumbering your opponents and PvDooring their structures overnight be considered “honorable”? That’s what determines 90% of WvW outcomes.

The only difference is that BG players QQing here have never experienced what every other server experiences regularly. That’s what makes it so annoying to read.

SO this is what I don’t understand about these posts… you make fun of BG players like NOW YOU KNOW how we feel. WHy are u directing that at the players of BG instead of arenanet? There the ones in charge of balancing the game not bg players, ur complaining to the wrong people and in the process just making everyone mad.

I don’t get it.

it seems like all of the d/d builds are full glass cannon now, with no points into shadow arts? I’m seeing a lot of 6/6/0/0/2 w/full zerk, while this is good for soloing you get destroyed by aoe, and w/out shadow arts its more difficult to get away and heal up.

I’m also noticing people replacing hidden killer trait with executioner in critical strikes and supplementing it with sigil of intelligence which grants you 3 guaranteed crit hits on weapon swap.

Before the patch I had d/d with Valkyrie and 0/6/6/2/0 which worked great with shadow’s rejuvenation of course. Now with the critical % dmg nerf i’m not putting up decent numbers.

Any suggestions for a d/d build that uses shadow arts and doesn’t basically do 0 damage?

I suppose I could always do some condition spec thief.

reason 5 Combo Fields -

another thing that bother’s me is combo fields for necro’s. IF you ever go with an organized zerg in WvW you will learn that Combo field water/fire, and combo finisher blast is essential for aoe healing and burst damage. Necro has only one combo finisher blast move on its staff which has a 25 second CD on it!? Thief for example can trigger 5-6 combo field blasts with the shortbow #2 skill in about 5 seconds in comparison.

Also none of our skill’s trigger combo fields fire or water. I understand having combo field dark or poison on wells and staff marks, but having combo field light on well of Blood?! Necromancers shouldn’t have anything combo field light on their skills at all since they are a dark oriented class! Not to mention when you think of a well you think of WATER and well of blood is a healing move (combo field water is for healing), only I can never use it in a zerg on my allies because it creates combo field light (which heals conditions) instead of water so I can’t even heal people as necro w/out getting yelled at “WATER FIELDS ONLY!”

In conclusion -

So I dunno what to do, go healing and kitten people off that i’m creating light fields instead of water and cant run away from any fights? Go conditionmancer and have 50% of my damage disappear into the ether, either from condition removal, reduced condition duration food, or too many conditions on the target? Or go power and be told I’m crap because I don’t have heavy armor and I get one shot.

A lot of these issues don’t have to do with just necromancer there about a lot of the core mechanics of the game as well.

So this is a myriad of issues that have been bugging me since release and I would like to hear what the community thinks of them and also maybe what some of the developers are thinking in regards to these issues.

First off I Play a necromancer as my main and it’s no surprise to anyone that necromancer is not really a meta class. In PvE/PvP/WvW it’s not really desirable for a number of reasons.

reason 1. Light armor -

I don’t see what purpose different armor types have in this game except to exclude classes. I see so many groups saying BERSERKER, HEAVIES ONLY or GTFO.
well that’s nice but in gw1 there was at least some balance to different armor types. For instance if you wore light armor you had more energy, additionally you also had elemental resistance, whereas heavy armor had almost no energy and thus this was some form of balance.

In GW2 however, there is NO downside to wearing heavy armor, they have no cooldown restriction on skills, there is no such thing as energy so they cant have less of that. It doesn’t restrict things like endurance regeneration or make them move slower. Basically warriors and guardians get more armor w/absolutely no drawback whatsoever. I don’t understand why we all just don’t have the same armor rating but keep the armor classes/looks different.

Additonally necromancer’s had medium armor in GW1, why was this changed to light armor in gw2???

reason 2. condition versus power builds. -

Condition damage builds in PvE are completely broken for the most part. Why is it, that bleed’s on a single target only stack to 25? If one application of each condition is on a target in addition to 25 stacks of bleed’s my build as a conditionmancer does 0 damage! It’s insane I might as well stand there and do nothing, Why does each player not have their own separate instance of condition’s applied to the same target? Or perhapse some sort of spill over effect where if a target has 25 bleeds, any additional bleeds get the total damage applied to the target instantly.

reason 3. stat combinations on armor and viability -

Half (if not more) of necromaner’s weapon skills and utility skills revolve around condition damage. And yet there is no armor stat combination that allows for the following stats: condition damage (primary), condition duration, and precision (crits apply bleeds for necro). Those stats compliment condition damage to its maximum, even though conditions do nothing once there all applied by multiple players on the same target as mentioned above.

So you might think well i’ll go power build. We’ll what stats compliment power? Precision and critical %, oh perfect that’s berserker armor. The only downside to this is we wear light armor and again NOBODY wants light armor users in PvE, because they can only take 1 hit in full zerker gear where as heavies can usually take 2 hits. Again I don’t understand armor differences in this game there is NO DOWNSIDE to heavy armor.

reason 4 – PVP/WvW -

We have NO ESCAPES as a class, we are completely committed to every fight we engage in whether we like it or not. This is a huge drawback to the class as we have no leaps, stealths and only a weak teleport with necrotic traversal to a worm minion which is also a 1 sec cast to pull this off, not instant. – This is also very confusing since we have moves like spectral walk, that turns you into a ghostly figure. You would think that would be a stealth, only instead it leaves a giant green trail behind you ALERTING the enemy as to which way you went. Additionally death shroud also sounds like a move which should make you invisible since you enter the realm of the dead and become ethereal, and yet nope no stealth…

Additionally half our builds in wvw are condition burst and if you are doing anything in a zerg you will notice that most of our conditions are removed INSTANTLY because of mass condition removal. In addition to this there is FOOD which reduces the duration of conditions!? Why is there not food which reduces the damage taken from critical hit % which is the accompaniment stat to power/crit builds?! I guess arenanet really HATES conditions.

Feedback Thread: Account Bound WXP, Ascended and Legendaries!

So with this recent update, it seems like just about everything is going to be account bound. From dye’s to ascended equipment, legendaries and skins.

The problem I see, is that in GW2, (and this is especially true of GW1) end game revolves around acquiring skins and making your character stand out and look unique. If we make it so that skins are account bound, isn’t that like shooting the entire point of end game in the foot?

I mean if I acquire a skin from some dungeon on one character and it is permanently unlocked, why would I ever run that dungeon again on any of my alts to get that skin again?

It seems like this patch is going to hurt people’s desire to farm content/replay content, not to mention that havoc its already wreaking on the Trading Post skin market as well as dye’s.

Thoughts?

Question about Knights

So I am aware that the Knight’s are currently bugged in regards to their loot. What I’m wondering is how the loot is supposed to drop.

Are the knights supposed to drop cores + exotic bags all the time but it’s just bugged?

or are the knights supposed to drop their loot only once per day now, and that is bugged as well?
