Everything but WvW, you have to be on the same server for that.
I’m on Tarnished Coast. Another note about servers. GW2 now uses a megaserver system which means that people in PvE are merged across servers for their region. This means that in PvE you can still play with players from other servers as long as they are in the same region NA or EU. Server choice matters the most for WvW as you have to be on the same server as your friends to play WvW with them.
Also keep in mind if your friend is on a full server you may not be able to transfer there until there is an opening. Some servers stay full most of the time.
I know for a fact that all banked items move with you even when you delete all your characters and transfer. The only items that are no good after deleting a character are items soulbound to that deleted character. You can still bank them but you can’t withdraw them or use them.
I think the items get mailed to you in game once you create a character. I suppose you could leave them in the mail. I don’t have the DE version so I’m not sure how that works. But I’m guessing you can either leave them in the mail or put them in your bank.
You can test the game if you want on whatever server you choose but if you want to transfer later for free you will have to delete all your characters. If you choose to do so you will need to put everything not soulbound in your bank first so you don’t lose those items. All items in your bank will transfer with you. Since you are receiving the armor skin and other items that come with the DE you may want to bank them and not use them if you plan on deleting your characters later for a free transfer.

The download tracker percentage is number of files left to download not the size left to download. Some files are larger than others. That said, I think the final download size is somewhere around 20 GB or so. The minimum system requirements state you need 25 GB available HDD space.

Town clothes have been replaced by the wardrobe and outfits as a way to customize characters in and out of combat.
Players can visit a Black Lion Armor Trader in any major city to have their town clothes converted to items compatible with the new wardrobe.
Full outfits such as the Cook’s Outfit and Mad King’s Outfit are now outfits as described above.

As far as posting the ticket in the sticky thread, if we cannot login to the guildwars2.com site without authenticating under her email address, then we cannot access the forums to post the ticket number for review. … unless I do it under my login, in which case you’re saying they won’t do anyway.
You can post your daughter’s ticket number in that thread for her if it has been over 72 hours. Also, as I quoted from the article, has your daughter tried setting up an email account with an alternate service and submitting the ticket? Did she get the auto response if you have done so? I’ll quote it again incase you missed it.

Note, your daughter does not have to be able to sign in in order to submit a support ticket. You mentioned a support ticket has already been submitted anyway. The ticket should have been submitted for your daughter’s account as support will not discuss account issues with a different account holder. Tickets are reviewed in the order they are received. If you do not receive a response within 3 days (72 hours) you can post the ticket number for review in the “3 Days & older” sticky thread.

It is bad news. I wonder if the designated Mac people will be able to find Mac related posts in the merged tech support forum. I’m guessing they will get lost. Not that the Mac team posts here much as it is or there is any proof they read this forum more than once a month.
With the new forum specialist program, I would hope someone would volunteer to at least get word to Anet about what is going on with the Mac client posts. The person I think would be best doesn’t qualify because I think he is in the UK.

With so much lumped into general discussion posts are going to fall off the page fast. What’s easier for a dev? To go to a sub-forum dedicated to that topic or scroll through 10 pages of topics on just about everything to try and find a specific topic? What’s easier for a forum member interested in a topic to do? Go to a sub-forum on that topic or scroll through 10 pages of random topics trying to find the one they are interested in?

Also you should remove your email address from your post for security reasons and so spammers don’t get ahold of it and spam you.
I agree I feel the Mac posts will just get lost there. Not to mention it will be a matter of seconds after someone posts a Mac issue and some troll chimes in with, “Mac suX0r! Get a real machine.”

You should never post an email address out in the open like that unless you want to get a ton of spam. Spammers use spiders to crawl the internet for publicly posted email addresses, harvest them and then spam away.

We are losing our forum. The forum that is supposed to be watched by the “Mac specialist”. It is going to be merged with account and tech support. In other words our Mac related posts will be buried with all the account support and PC tech support posts. This will make it even more difficult for that “Mac team” to find Mac related posts.

You won’t get your gold back, as Anet stated they don’t get involved in player to player transactions. The most that will happen is the person that scammed you might get suspended or banned.

You can buy the digital download and send them the unused serial number you receive. Just make sure you don’t register it and make an account, let them do that. Then all they have to do is register and download the game.
