It feels really pointless to harvest anything besides t5+ mats. We have an excess of mats worth only copper as well.
What if we had a new weapon, using for example, platinum, soft wood, and iron?
I would love to see more Dredge NPCs rather than enemies.
The only friendly ones to my knowledge is Mr. NoNoNo in Sorrow’s Embrace, and some of them in Forstgorge Sound.
I would like if some Dredge simply walked around in LA, maybe if one of them were a merchant.
I wouldn’t mind if Risen were removed, to be honest. They tried to do a throwback to GW1 undead, but it didn’t work. Also, there were no Zombie horsemen.
My message to the devs:

Do the rewards justify the time and repair cost?
Please, ANET. Fix it!
Fix it, fix it, fix it, fix it, fix it!
Fix it, fix it, fix it, fix it, fix it!
How is the market doing? Everyone is selling them now that the event is over.
Smart investors will play the waiting game… Wait until October.
At the start of the game I noticed a lot of hate towards the dredge, but as I progressed through, they REALLY grew on me!
From their hilariously exaggerated voices to their parody of politics, ANET made them better with each update! In Flame and Frost they act like mad scientists with mechas!
I know the Dredge have gotten a lot of hate from Thieves who can’t blind them, but as a personality I think they’re really awesome!
Thanks. Now I know where to sell the dill. Hopefully they keep prices high so I could earn a little cash without the CoF machine.
Note they say “Account Bound” and “Double click to consume”.
This means it will be an account bound skin, similar to fusion weapons.
Which I presume will be from RNG boxes!
I really want to use SE Pants, but it seems as if EVERY pair of shoes clip with it! Even SE shoes! (Really, ANET? It clips with its own armor-set? The artists did not notice this occur in the creation process whatsoever!? Really!? REALLY!?!?)
Using any other pair of shoes, the pads inside the pants itself will clip out. Whereas if I use SE shoes, the hanging cloth in the back will clip.
Does anyone know any shoes which do NOT clip? Please anyone help me out here! Thanks!
Solution: Cultural back-pieces.
That way we could just roll a human character for cape and no clipping issues on norn and charr! (Of course, knowing ANET, it would still clip with their own set… -.-)
I’m sure they were always like this. Can we please get video evidence comparing?
Thank you!
12/chars
I completed both the Rox and Braham instances, and I’ve completed the Molten Facility dungeon. I’ve also watched the cutscene between Braham and Eir afterwards.
Where are my gauntlets!? Did I have to do anything else? (Can they be done within a single day?)
because no content was destroyed with expansions.
Oh, I see what you did thar.
cough LivingStory cough
People are mostly tired of Risen.
Whatever happened to the GW1 undead? They were a LOT cooler!
Zombie Hound (Skeletal wolves)
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Zombie_Hound
Bone Dragon/Rotscale (An undead freaking DRAGON!)
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Rotscale
Necrid Horsemen (Risen on HORSES!!!)
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Necrid_Horseman
Granted, abominations are pretty baddass. But every other risen was just silly. Imagine if instead, Zhaitan was commanding armies of risen horsemen in position? Imagine if we were fighting zombie DRAGONS other than Tequatl?
Is the reward account-daily? Can I redo it on multiple toons? Or can I use the same toon?
What I’m wondering is why so many people hate it? :S
Guardian Staff is fine.
What’s wrong is the aiming bug where projectiles fly in random directions if you rapidly strafe.
I hear a lot of people ingame saying the new gauntlets are ugly.
Well, I’m in the group of people who LOVE these new gauntlets! They look like what SE gauntlets should’ve been in the first place!
Really awesome!
To my knowledge, it’s just something to protect ANET from legal hooplah.
Pretty much everybody disagrees with the whole RNG in Gem store nonsense. It really doesn’t feel very ANet to me. Makes me think NCsoft control it.
They are one and the same, the anet that made GW1 is dead.
I’m pretty sure the “resident economist” of GW2 also worked on GW1. I recognize his name.
What happened was puberty. ANET discovered their RNG fetish like a boy discovers women.
btw, doesn’t anyone else feel that it’s wrong to decrypt data in the gw2 files in order to reveal spoilers for upcoming updates?
Actually, it’s brilliant viral marketing!
Too bad the bigshots in the game industry are too dense to realize anything about their audiences past market data.
They have done the right thing with items like the Wintersday weapons, the new gauntlets and these Living Story weapons, but I agree with you. I still think adding more potential unique drops from specific chests and enemies is the way forward. Having specific things to hunt with a clear direction reduces the feeling of unfairness.
To be absolutely fair, RNG chests are not bad if done right. Halloween was perfect because the drops were not soulbound.
Players who liked gambling chests had a chance to score big because they could sell the items.
Rare items would not be rare if they weren’t … you know … rare. Low drop chances are there for a reason, to keep an item either sought after, valued, or prestigious.
That’s the problem. GW2-ANET values a progressive view on the playerbase, rather than the individual experience.
Why is it every freaking MMO falls into this trap? GW1 did it right with Tormented Weapons, then they messed everything up in GW2, and worse… Did they really have to combine RNG and cash shop?
I have no comment on RNG aspect of things, as RNG is just that … RNG.
0.4% drop rate is bad RNG. That’s not even 1%…
Try a random number generator of your own with those odds. Now keep rolling until you succeed. See how long that takes you. Now multiply your time by 30 minutes per attempt.
Sounds a little insane to me.
131 tickets before I got my fusion weapon.
Yes, it is broken. The same people responsible for the low drop-rate (read: none) of Final Rest at launch.
GW1 is a lot better balanced than GW2, and a lot more solo-friendly. It’s worth buying the expansions, and rolling a Nightfall character to get heroes.
According to a “reliable source” with GW1 updates, ANET tests things quite thoroughly! One class revision for example was months in the making, with over a hundred people called at once, every week to test it! And when the class update was finally released, it was met with incredibly positive reviews!
Will I get in trouble for revealing ANET put a ton of love and care into the Dervish update? The effort really shows!
Of course, that was GW1. I’m not too sure about GW2. I do know they have smaller, dedicated teams working on separate content from each other in the game. So while they do pump out a large variety of content at once with monthly updates, I do fear it comes at the price of polish and quality.
Time constraints and smaller teams could mean a huge setback if a single developer is a liability. This is probably why content like the Living Story are incredibly well polished, whereas the event scaling is totally out of whack… Unless ANET really likes fighting champions harder than world bosses themselves?
So in short, ANET probably has a ton of testers in GW2, considering how high-budget it is. However, they might not be able to fix certain things when under pressure.
That’s just my assumption anyways.

Took Spirit of Frost into CoF p1+p2. Went asplat whenever we fought the silver Flame Legion charr.
Pet survival was fine pre-patch. Honestly, I have no idea what you’re doing to kill your own pet so easily.
Hm, I wonder if we will need to buy 131 keys again, to get 1 weapon?
Hmmmm….
Ah, I remember the test krewe. I wonder what the code will do?
RNG chests for dragon festival AND the return to Karkaland!?
Charr, whether they like it or not, have an affinity for Fire because of Steam-based technology and Iron Legion.
Wut? That is saying some one has an affinity for water because they use hydroelectricity.
Think it is a topic of magical affinity, not mechanical use of fire. Least thats what I am getting out of it.
Traditionally Charr have used fire magic. Furthermore, the fire element is the base for most of their technology (iron, explosives, etc..)
I would also think that after the Flame Legion ruled for so long, fire magic is somewhat passed down by their genes, even though they don’t use it.
I remember reading about someone who hits 10k on greatsword “Maul”. I forgot the thread, but anyone know how he accomplished it? Thanks!
WTB devs who play their own game.
How hard would it have been on the test server to spawn 50 or so bots to see how much the enemy health scales, and how long it takes to defeat them?
How could they NOT test the new scaling with major world bosses?
Is this REALLY ArenaNet’s standard of “fun”?
Why will it be another month before (possibly) any fix? This seems like a very game-breaking issue…
(edited by Kain Francois.4328)
A norn in Snow Leopard form looks awfully a lot like a charr. So it’s not too unlikely.
I think anet added an extra digit to the scaling. That’s the only thing to explain such carelessness and lack of testing.
That, or they genuinely enjoy fighting champions who take 10 minutes to kill, with little to no reward.
Since this update has been in the works for awhile, I’m actually willing to believe they DO enjoy fighting champions!
My issue with bandits are that they’ve been done to death in jRPGs.
Had they been renamed “rebel”, or “insurgent”, it would have made them a lot more interesting.
It recently just occurred to me what role the Ranger does better than others: We are tanks.
Tons of evade, endurance regeneration, mobility/escapes, long range, and 12 second invulnerability! (signet of stone + protect me)
We also have some of the best capabilities while downed (f2+wolf howl then f3 pet-res), and we STILL deal a ton of damage while down!
Also, no matter how bunker a ranger sets himself up to be, his pets still deal a ton of damage.
Our role is to tank enemies, yes? (It might not have much use in PvE, but in WvW….)
What is a hunter? I keep hearing people use the term.
Is it a new class in an upcoming expansion? :S
Final day of Super Adventure Box.
I will miss you sooo much! :’(
The Bandits are actually the White Mantle, who 250 years ago ruled Kryta before being overthrown by the Shining Blade.
They worship the “unseen ones” (Mursaat), and their operations typically revolved around picking out “chosen ones” in the population capable of becoming Ascended, and sacrificing them to their gods so that the Mursaat could stop the Titans from entering Tyria.
The White Mantle in present day Tyria exploits peoples’ frustrations with the Queen in order to overthrow the Shining Blade, and convert their followers to the worship of Mursaat.
Supposedly ANET is waiting for an expansion dealing with the Mursaat before they show the true colors of the so called “bandits”.
I wonder if ANET will throw us a bone, since it comes in one day? . ?(???)
Longbow if you’re a warrior. No other longbow skin is appropriate for the warrior’s fiery bow.
If you want a fiery greatsword, just go for Volcanus, which has a thicker trail.
Who else is super excited for the 30th patch? I hear it’ll have MASSIVE balancing compared to previous months. I also heard Rangers will be addressed for once.
I for onee am SUPER excited! I’m probably going to stay up all night, hoping it comes at 12 AM instead of 3 PM when I have school! >w<
Anyone else with me here? The class updates sound awesome! I’m going to try and sneakpoint at them while at school!!! (//o 3o)//
I think most of all, what a World Boss needs should be more “raid” style mechanics, where large groups of 40 people need to spread out, rather than clumping on the boss.
Let’s take the Risen Priestess of Lyssa world boss for example. Players must split into 3 groups, for 3 separate events distant from each other.
Why not expand on that concept a little more? Turn it into one big event so EVERYONE gets credit, and give every distinct roles besides DPSing the boss itself.
For Tequatl, one group charges the cannon, but to do so must collect essences very far from the cannon itself. Another group must defend the cannon from a hoarde of risen attacking it (if destroyed, must repair it.) The third group must escort a group of Hylek who venoms will stun Tequatl, leaving him susceptible to the Cannon.
Players must protect the Cannon, Essence-makers, and Hylek. If all 3 are destroyed at the same time, Tequatl fails, Risen Hylek begin to invade and the island is corrupted with the green “Zhaitan” aura seen in Cursed Shore.
What will improve world events and satisfy players who want raids are events we can not only fail, but also the designation of roles. Severs should be expected to organize into things like “Team 1, Team 2, and Team 3”, and they should be pushed for failing to do so.
A world boss should be difficult to defeat because it invites the entire server to fight it. Failure to complete it should grant a 5 minute timer as opposed to 3 hours, much like failure to complete Grenth/
Because it should be difficult to co-ordinate, promoting commander squads and teamwork, the rewards should justify the efforts. Rather than a rare, they should be exotics (including precursors). While this may seem like a stretch, most exotics only cost 2g or so, which most level 80 characters have no trouble earning within a single hour anyways.
My vision for a promotesrevised Tequatl not only promotes a responsible use of the Commander tag, pleases those wishing for raids, but also promotes team work, and strategy for the entire server!
It doesn’t bother me when people have fun with the accidents. I just appreciate it if they let me know where it happened so I can fix it.
You don’t have to fix every little place a player can outside a map or into other areas.
Some of these little glitches are fun to have in the game. It’s like finding a easter egg. For example RP’s can get into the home in DR without going into a instance. I wouldn’t want to see that area completely closed off.
I’m pretty sure he’s obligated by ANET contracts nonetheless, “to do his job.”
