I want to play a hammer guardian with Healing Circles.
What gear should I use? Cleric or Berserker? For Dungeons/mid-FoTM?
Offensive Golem deals surprisingly great damage. Use it, love it. But otherwise, use supply crate when a fight is not mobile.
Aren’t they invulnerable?
ATTENTION ALL WARBANDS!
The Black Citadel is formally declaring war on Rata Sum!
Those subverted Flame Legion dissidents are going to come in handy for once, because all Asuran Portals are to be shut down immediately! They will be replaced with our own Fiery Portals connecting us to Lion’s Arch!
Furthermore, we will lobby Back Lion trade to impose sanctions on Rata Sum; all trade with the Asuran city will immediately cease!
I hereby call forth a meeting between all warbands of the 3 legions and dissidents of Flame Legion, to discuss our plans to assault Rata Sum!
How do you propose we initiate our assault?
Shove it up your assassin, skritt face!
You can hide behind your lingo all you like, because in the end what you’re hiding is your lack of wit! You couldn’t even build a proper cannon to fight Zhaitan without relying on the very resource he collects!
Poor babies can’t even build a stable city either! You live in a third world where you can’t even breath without Arcane Eye propaganda being shoved down your throats every 5 seconds! How do you like martial law dictatorship, you little raisins?
Charr favor innovative solutions; efficiency! What use is an unstable golem compared to reliable cogs and steam? Only a fool tampers with that he does not understand! Iron Legion engineers do not trial and error… They build and succeed!
Who are the ones which create your zeppelins? Who are the ones who founded Black Lion Trade? Who are the ones to perfect teleportation through fiery portals, while you cowardly bunnies were running from destroyers? EXACTLY!
NOW SHUT UP, AND BOW DOWN TO YOUR IRON LEGION OVERLORDS!
As heads of the Pact and high ranking representative of the Iron legion, the Black Citadel declares war on Rata Sum!
Well, it is stated by NPC’s that it’s cheaper to buy a golem than make your own.
Hmmm… My economics class tells me that they are manufactured using skritt-slave labor. That is the only way the price to purchase is cheaper than the price to produce.
Generally, you’re allowed to record video games as long as you don’t sell it.
That said, I’m sure youtube partners like Dontain profit off of it.
Know what we need? A thread listing all the aesthetic problems of Engineer in general, including;
- Hobosacks
- Legendaries
- Hip Shot + Overcharged SHot
- Rocket Boots
Personally I go thief because Asura get Radiation Field. This synergizes very well with the Shortbow because you can spam blast finishers for VERY long duration weakness on foes!
> Leader of the Pact with a background in the Priory and Iron Legion
> Asura wont accept me into college?
Why? You racist kittens! I’ll build my own Rata Sum, with blackjack! And HOOKERS!
Know what? Screw the whole thing! I’ll design my own Black CItadel!

From this day forward, the engineer backpack will be renamed “hobosack”!
Why do grenades even need a backpack anyways? Flamethrower, maybe. Elixir gun, I could also understand. But nades?
1 ticket in 131 chests.
I hope they give more tickets at the end of F&F.
Eh, nice try :P
I wish they could add a tunic and medium armor yule cap though.
Difference between WoW and the GW1 “trinity” is the fact in late GW1 you could customize your own team of AI with completely team-centered builds.
You could not judge a build in GW1 without looking at a the team as a whole.
In GW2, all the AI heroes’ functions are compressed into the player itself, so they are unnecessaty.
As a zerker, couldn’t I accomplish more damage by using bombs, or possibly wrench? What about stacking might with Flamethrower and trapping to rifle?
So I just spec 30-30-0-0-10 and use grenades? That is it???
Ain’t that a little weak? (And tedious to use?)
They are the actual GW2 concept art.
Sylvari tutorial dragon boss is in a separate instance entirely. It should not be appearing in Caledon Forest.
Show this to the entire dev team~
What if we delete our mail? We need a living story tab to keep track of objectives.
It seems ANET is hinting they will finally give away tickets for the finale of the event.

April 30, 2013
In secret foundries deep beneath the Shiverpeaks, the Molten Alliance forges deadly new weaponry/b] that combine the fiery power of the Flame Legion with the iron might of the dredge. There, [b]Alliance weapon smiths test their creations on innocent captives, perfecting their cruel technology until it is ready to unleash on all of Tyria. In the last chapter of the Flame and Frost series, you’ll strike at the heart of the Molten Alliance with your comrades Rox the charr and the norn Braham. Take the battle into the enemy’s weapons facilities and defeat a final hybrid menace unlike any Tyria has ever seen!
There seems to be a lot of emphasis on their weapons. Is this a good sign?
Ps. As someone who bought 131 chests before getting my ticket, I don’t mind if you give them away in the story. Maybe 1/account? Just do the right thing please, ANET!
Your reward for finishing F&F is removing it from the UI.
GG anet.
I’m also wondering who does the voice? He also voiced Big Nose Ted and the PvP Announcer.
His voice is amazing!
I agree. We need some cool shotgun skins.
But even if they add shotgun skins, the #1 skill still looks weird. Furthermore, Overcharged Shot?
(Balance-wise, WHY does it need to knock us back anyways? It’s single target…)
D/D is a defensive set because autoattack regens you endurance.
Bosses in dungeons already down you in 2 hits.
Hey, I just wanted to thank Robert for being so active on the Ranger forum.
Don’t be discouraged by the naysayers.
Thank you!
I think LR should also have a recharge of 15 to balance it out with the Thief heal.
Pfft. A berserker thief is viable in high level fractions, just tell them to dodge more. And invest in acrobats.
They have some of the highest endurance regeneration of any class. Why are they getting hit!?
Netshot and Blunderbuss make sense, because in real life (and MGS!) there are rifles with a shotgun and grenade-launcher attachment.
Glue shot also makes sense if you imagine using a pistol to fire ammunition which explodes into glue. Meanwhile, poison volley is simply a barrage of pistol shots… (However, why does ANET feel the need to make it inaccurate?)
I remember seeing screens where the Jungle Dragon was rendered on one of the servers inside Caledon Forest.
It was a glitch, and the dragon was untargettable ans stationary, but the sheer fact it was rendered inside the map has a lot of significance to it.
We can speculate ANET actually intended the dragon to appear at some point in that map (perhaps instead of Jungle Wurm.)
He can knock you back? Since when?
The fact they use to fire their guns correctly and ANET thought it was a good idea to change it makes me feel a LOT worse!
What is the basis of the HGH build? Is it conditions? I’m more of a Berserker fan.
Yes, but why is it a hip shot? It’s so innacurate. Why does the Gunner class act like an amateur?
As for Overcharge Shot, why? Why does it have to be an overcharged shot that knocks us down?
I’m not being sarcastic. I’m wondering why they made the gunner class look so amateur?
Not as good as my Spycicle.
cloaks
Is anyone else bothered by the Rifle animations? Anyone else want to see them change?
Hip Shot: WHY is he shooting a sniper rifle from his hip!? WHY SHOOT FROM HIS HIP IN THE FIRST PLACE!?
Overcharged Shot: WHY IS THE MASTER OF GUNS KNOCKING HIMSELF DOWN!?
Leap Shot: The stomp is cheesy.
The whole knockdown thing is unnecessary, and whoever gave ANET that idea that should be ashamed of himself.
The same can be said for Overcharged Shot. Other classes can knockdown foes on demand.. But the Engineer knocks himself down too?
Fix them both, please!
So I’m a rusty engineer trying to jump back into the Engineer for PvE. I tend to gear glassy, so I want to get an offensive use out of my engineer.
What is the current meta for being efficient in dungeons and fotm? Any tips for a returning engineer?
Also, will the deployable turrets toss be fixed? (It’s a really awesome bug that makes turrets actually usable in boss fights…)
But gems are ANET’s profits. They were kind enough to let hardcore players use ingame money to buy gems instead of real money.
I think the system is fine, and the Black Lion Trade as a whole is awesome! (What’s not fine are the RNG chests.)
Short answer: No. It’s too tedious.
I would have preferred them to make the kick more responsive. It’s very frustrating, and I’m not sure if it’s intentional.
Conglaturation !
you have beeten a great game and prooved the justice of our culture !!!
Go rest our heroes !
It’s something we’re absolutely aware of and want to address in the future, one of my main characters is an engineer so I feel ya on this one. My poor quaggan backpack is visible like 2% of the time I play as I kit swap, never mind my weapon skins.
We’re currently focusing our engineering (programmers, not guys with net guns) resources that could work on solutions to issues like kits/skins on major systems that address issues higher priority and wider reaching like lag in large battles, LFG, custom arenas, spectator mode and so on but this issue is absolutely on our radar.
As always, please post your ideas of what you’d like to see solution wise, we love to see the fun ideas y’all come up with too!
Hello Colin.
When I first started GW2, I fell in love with my Sylvari Engineer. However, I had since salvaged his equipment because every build feels inferior to everything else. Including Ranger.
Please give the Engineer a niche in dungeon teams!
As for visuals, please change the rifle. Hip Shot looks utterly lame, a master of guns should NOT be firing from his hip! It looks especially silly with Predator!
Furthermore, please change Overcharged Shot’s animation not to knock ourselves down. The fact the engineer cannot control his own gun makes him a joke.
I am confident ANET will fix its flaws, though. I hope Engineer lives up to the name of “gunner”.
Thank you!
Ranger would frustrate a newcomer because of the broken 1h sword.
Trust me, just go Guardian.
It looks like the Tarnished Coast, possibly the Sylvari starter area.
Honestly, having had balancing experience, I especially don’t believe Guild Wars 1 is hard to balance. Tedious yes, difficult no.
In my opinion it was an issue of resources to actually implement the skills rather than balance. I imagine GW2 is a lot easier to work with for skills.
I believe we should be able to use town clothes in PvE combat, period. It’s what made the costumes in GW1 so cool, and it would give us a reason to buy all that town clothing.
Hey, out of curiosity, but does anyone here have an underwater legendary?
Problem is, while the new final bosses are just right, the spider queen is too difficult for the first explorable dungeon boss in the game. Reduce her from legendary to champion, in my opinion.
