CITIZEN! launches missile
Seriously though. I would love to see him as a boss in a giant golem, shouting annoying quotes at players.
If the living story is good for anything, it’s temporary bosses.
Hey Robert. My hopes are you and your team implement some new farming locations!
People are getting a little tired of Cursed Shore and CoF. Fact of the matter is people like to farm gold as their endgame. You could add all the cool NPCs you want, but we will be marching right back to CoF unless new content could compete!
So if you could perhaps consider creating some nice 5-10g/hour farming events or instances while the resident economist is not looking, please sneak it in! Thanks!
Seriously though. We want more ways to make cash!

I wouldn’t look too deep into it. Drakes are simply the GW version of reptiles.
There is actually a large inconsistency between GW1 and GW2 in regards to differentiating reptiles and drakes. If you look at the designs, the GW1 crocodile resemble the GW2 river drake, while the GW1 dune reptiles resembles the GW2 ice drake. There for, we might as well condlude they just wanted to transform all lizard-like animals to drakes.
How much gold are 800 gems ($10?) anyways?
Greatsword is in a good place.
I don’t feel any changes should be made, except maybe buffing the Autoattack damage slightly.
It’s every other Ranger weapon which are broken…. -.-
Hello guys.
I saw someone posting this video 2 weeks ago (maybe?!).
The video isn’t mine, i just thought it could be relevant for this thread, and maybe it’ll be useful for someone, if the build in the video description actualy works as advertised (i never got to check it out in game).
Wow… If only our 1h sword wasn’t broken… -.-
I really want to see Kralkatorik have personality. His obsession with perfection opens up a lot of doors as a character.
I like to think the Molten Dredge are just a small faction, and not representative of their entire race.
If ANET did not make some more friendly Dredge NPCs, I would be one very disappointed moletariat!
The personal story constantly hinted the dragons were actually intelligent.
What I think would make them baddass is if they were given personalities and insidious motives, seeking a higher goal beyond the comprehension of Tyrians.
Even if the dragons are hellbent on destruction, they need quirks to make them recognized and unique. Kralkatorik for example has an obsession with perfection, but we never actually see him express his obsession.
Kefka for example was a great villain because he acted so utterly comical and absurd. Yet he poisoned a kingdom, destroyed the chance of peace between espers and humans, kills the emperor himself, becomes a god, then destroys the world.
And even when he achieved godhood, Square still gave him character by making him the ultimate sadist rather than simply being a force of destruction. He seeks to destroy everyone’s hope, yet he lets them live so that they may suffer.
Compare Kefka and Zhaitan, and you will see a huge difference.

Opened 131 chests, got ONE ticket!
You guys make me sick! >:(
As much as I want to pretend they are incompetent, the reality is an LFG system is in their best interests. So they’re probably working on it (unlike the Champion scaling in Orr with no ETA.)
Removing Cantha because it is allegedly not a “universal” depiction of humanity is Eurocentrism.
Just saying.
Besides, what is this “Asian” they speak of? Last I checked, the continent of Cantha had nationalities of Canthan, Kurzick, and Luxon. The continent of Cantha were actually a pretty diverse amount of peoples.

Well I’m also spending my laurels on t6 bags (3 t6 mats inside). Any more tips to completing my t6 stacks?
If you move to the top left area of Southsun Cove, it starts getting all black, like Malchor’s Leap.
After my traumatizing experienced in Malchor’s Leap, it honestly makes me scared I’m going to get thrown out of bounds somewhere in Glitch City! :S

I must admit, I’m particularly disappointed. Usually they give us a month or two to calm down after the RNG boxes.
Notice the skins this time are also account-bound, much like the Fusion weapons. I have a bad feeling…

Since we’re going back to Karkaland, I demand ANET add him somewhere to kitten us off.
Imagine the look on peoples’ faces once they see him again!
I care. Howler looks baddass!
Kudos!
Guild Wars 2 is an amazing game where loot scales according to your level. Maw is famous for rewarding a highly sought after “rare” tier of item, which they could salvage for ecto, and use for all sorts of purposes!
The rewards for maw are great.
Honestly? I wouldn’t mind a new dungeon. I just hope the timeframe to play is bigger than 2 weeks.
Ever notice swimming in Southsun Cove the water and terrain goes DEEEEEEP downwards? To the point where the lighting changes?
Why would ANET go through the hassle of making extra terrain, for places they could have easily sealed off with a “strong current”?
Does it have anything to do with the update? Fellow divers, what have you found underwater in southsun cove?
I already have my precursor (The Hunter) and 77 clovers. I’m going for The Predator.
Now what should I do next?
I figure Obsidian Shards/karma overlap with WvW tokens because of the massive karma rewards for capturing keeps. And Bloodstone Shard naturally overlaps with World Exploration because of skill points.
That leaves Gift of Stealth (500 CoE tokens + 100 Onyx Lodestones), and Gift of Magic/Might (250 of every mat). I also have to do Icy Runestones (100g).
I’m just a little overwhelmed at where to go now. t6 mats are my main source of money, yet I’m forced to deposit each and every I find.
Anyone have any tips for speeding up the remaining goals? Strategies? Besides running CoF (because that got boring after crafting Volcanus with all my Molten Lodestones), what ideas do you have to complete the remaining gifts? Particularly, the stacks of 6 mats?
Any more ideas?
But isn’t the final boss a structure without a chest? So where does the recipe drop from?
Anyone know the most efficient way to obtain Nightmare Coil?
It sells for about 5g on the TP and only needs 200 tokens to craft.
According to the wiki it’s obtained in TA F/U, but which boss? And will wearing Magic Find increase my chances? (Is it dropped from a boss? Or a chest?)
And anyone here with knowledge would like to start speed running TA exp wit me to get it?
Any more ideas? I don’t know if craft+sell is profitable..
How can I farm some gold, besides (currently broken) Orr events, and CoF speedruns?
I really need some dough, but I’m getting tired of CoF, and I’m kinda turned off from wearing MF armor and not being able to use my build.
What should I do?
Bah. Either way, it’s a kitten shame Zhai-chan is not anywhere to be found in Arah explorable.!
I’m fascinated by this image. It shows what seems to be Mordemoth corrupting someone, who looks a lot like a Risen in another image.
My guess is this longhaired character is supposed to be a representation of dragon corruption.
The new update page describing the refugees “like prisoners” makes me very suspicious.
Yeah, I’ll bet the consortium are an evil bunch. Just the fact they’re incredibly unfriendly says a lot.
If that is truly Zhaitan, I’m really disappointed that didn’t make it in as a map.
If you look closely at the screenshot, it shows an opening where you can enter his mouth to explore inside Zhaitan himself. I’m really curious what that is made of? It could possibly explain why the dragons consume magic.
Anyways, they messed this up hardcore in my opinion. I’ll blame time constrains.
Engineers are the worst. The devs like to nerf all our builds just to give Turrets 10% more damage… Which means our turrets do 330 damage instead of 30, whoopie!
Ranger is in a good place. They lack burst, but they pack the best Water Field in the game, and they are pretty handi sometimes, such as the CoF P2 final boss where your pet tanks the boss while your Ranger attacks the crystal.
Pets are also great at holding agro (contrary to the misconception they die easily), and Rangers even a 9 second fire field too! (Hint: Ping it to your team before they use their blasts.)
I also hear Rangers are used in high level FoTM, though I don’t have the experience to give advice.
Rangers are in a good place. They don’t have the high damage of Warrior, but they’re handy when used properly. Warrior is the burger, while Rangers are french fries.

I think people are missing the ball on this. It’s not whether or not magic find makes you a leech in dungeons, but the fact a majority of open-world PvE is spent farming.
We’re forced to use Magic Find in Open-World pve instead of using whatever gear we like best. And it’s INCREDIBLY annoying to constantly switch our gear from magic find to dungeon!
Turning Magic Find into an infusion not only frees up the builds we can use, but it’s also a VERY MUCH needed convenience!
May update notes:
-Static discharge now has a 10 second cooldown. This will be the end of the last direct (non-condition) damage build. The hip shot recharges every seconds and releases a discharge making this build usable.
May update notes:
-Reduced Bomb damage by 50%Bombs are very weak and petitions are being made to en power them. They are very difficult to use and the player practically has to run constantly near monsters.
May update notes:
Increased Turret damage by 10%Turrets would still be weak. My spit has higher damage.
May update notes:
Increased Mortar health by 20%Even if they increase it 100% the mortar is unusable in a real situation.
Conclusion? The engineer traits and skills need reworking not small variable tweaking. For months we were just running in circles doing nothing. Just sand in the eyes.
Actually, this update would increase “variety” for Engineer builds!
*increased turret damage by 10%
*Static Discharge now has a 10 second cooldown.
Why not add an “extra” zone in Orr, where it is post-Zhaitan?
Will we have to qeue EB to enter JP? Or will there be a new entrance entirely?
Anyone else wish this theme to return?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LA8GKXPeqXQ
It was not on the official Factions OST, yet it was THE Most iconic Factions theme in all of GW! (Makes me wish someone could extend it on youtube..)
Man, Factions really did have great music…
I think magic find on gear should be handled with utility infusion slots. Gear would have their stats, a slot for the sigil of your choice, and an infusion slot like the utility slot on ascended items where you can choose mf, or more gold, or more karma. I like the idea of choosing what to boost.
Perhaps there is a mystic forge recipe to add this slot to armor pieces, or a quest that opens an npc that will add it for a fee.
Existing mf gear could be exchanged for same level gear of another stat breakdown.
This.
Seriously, infusions open up a lot of possibilities. We could totally split conomy-stats from buid-stats.
This is the one thing Ascended gear could do right.
In WvW the jumping puzzle in Eternal Battlegrounds will be split out into its own map, so those folks who wish to play there aren’t counting against the population cap for EB. This means more people can play in the EB jumping puzzle, and more people can play in EB as well with the populations separated.
Wow, that sounds amazing! Definitely a highlight of the upate!
Shiro Tagachi could kick Zhaitan’s kitten
Come on, he basically did the same thing, and more! He has an army undead, he corrupted an entire continent, but he’s such a baddass! I (And his his hair makes him hot! :o)
I argue Shiro could actually defeat Zhaitan, as he wields the power of a god (Dwayna), and he’s also a lot more intelligent.
I think Largos just wear the masks to look cool. It’s a fantasy RPG game, and we don’t need air breathers. (Actually, we don’t. You could remove your mask underwater!)
ANET probably wanted to design a bunch of different underwater helmets, but didn’t have time to make them widely available. So they they just threw them on a future underwater race in the meantime.
131 chests here.
I wish we could at least trade in boosters.
Tengu and Largos seem most likely because they could easily accomodate most armor currently in the game.
I’m wondering why this hasn’t been fixed already? It’s been almost a week since the update.
They probably don’t think there’s anything wrong. Yet.
ArenaNet isn’t stupid. If events are being messed up and made not fun, I’m sure ArenaNet is completely aware.
However, some of their updates such as this do come off being unpolished. So when justified, we should pretend they are incompetent, simply to pressure them.
Go play Super Adventure Box. Oh wait…
-snip-
nah, you don’t get the tradeoff: power vs. better loot. The devs want to give people the choice to become weaker and in return get better loot. I’d say: give magicfind a group-buff which doesn’t work on yourself. So the power in a group stays the same, but you are weaker nontheless + get better loot.
Why do we need a tradeoff in the first place? It doesn’t do anything significant in zergplay. But it does prevent us from using builds we enjoy in the open world.
Using anything but magic find in open world is kinda pointless.

After contemplating a long time, I came up with a wonderful idea for magic find and ascended gear!
What if, one we have a full set of Ascended Gear for armor and weapons, Magic Find and similar stats (karma-booster, gold-find, etc…) are segregated into infusions?
What infusions allow you do to do is split “statistical”-boosts from “utility”-boosts. So rather than choosing between Magic Find and Berserker armor, you choose between a Magic Find and Gold Find infusion, and we could use whatever stats we want?
We could use our favorite heaing power gear for example, and decide whether we play open world or dungeons, to use magic find or gold find.
In short: abolish magic find from armor, and give us a Utility infusion slot instead.

-Reduced Bomb damage by 50%
-Increased Elixir-Infused Bombs heal by 20%
-HGH no longer works with tool belt.
-Increased Mortar health by 20%
- Replaced Elixir B with a NEW!!! skill “Smiter’s Boon”
-Increased Turret damage by 10%
