Actually, the maximum people at each knight might be your problem. The bigger the zerg the longer the fight will be.

  • 4 – So the defend events won’t run if the Scarlet Alliances are currently holding the rally camps. If you see the crosses swords event at the camps, that means a defend even has already run and failed – you’ll have to succeed the recapture event before another defend event will start. If you are seeing it work out differently, let me know!

No defend event even though NO crossed sword on the entire map. I think the bugged Commodore Lawson event prevents all the defend the rally point events.

Commodore Mariner Event is bugged on Gunnar`s Hold and it prevents ALL the “Defend Rally Point” events you need for the daily to start.

It doesn’t feel alive for me, as long as only bad stuff is permanent and good stuff isn’t. They turned Kessex Hills into something ugly and they are going to turn LA into something ugly.

Why no positive things stay around? Like defeating all the risen in the first map of Orr? Or slaughtering all the Tamini in Harvati Highlands and conquering it for humans?

We defended (and I wouldn’t say easily) LA against a dragon champion, and a mindless monster of one at that. Not to mention the army that time was undead; not exactly overachievers. Scarlet is intelligent and resourceful and has an army made up of multiple factions of civilized races who have pooled their tech together into a very advanced and potent force. She is considerably better prepared and better equipped to take the city than Zhaitan ever was.

She also has failed at every invasion attempt she made. Zhaitan owns three entire maps which are NEVER conquered by the players or the pact. There is no ingame reason for why she should succeed at something that Zhaitan failed at. That is bad writing for me.

Plus if you haven’t figured out she’s a dragon champion by now…

So she is even more of an unbelievable mary sue-ish character now.

So in the personal story we easily defend LA against the frigging ARMY of an ELDER DRAGON while enduring a badly done drama piece but Miss ANet’s favorite Salad conquers it?!?!?!?!?!

So Scarlet is now more dangerous than an elder dragon!!! That is by far the worst part of the Scarlet LS so far. And if what “Mortifer.2946” wrote is true than it gets even worse.

I don’t even mind that but everyone praising Trahearne for doing nothing that kittenes me off. I just killed the Mouth of Zhaitan and “my” character says: “Trahearne is bringing Zhaitan down bit by bit.”

She could have said: “WE are bringing Zhaitan down bit by bit.” But nope.
My own character doesn’t acknowledge her own participation and claims Trahearne did it. What a kitten of kitten.

The worst part for me was that Scarlett was a “special consultant” for the Inquest which lead to the explosion of the reactor in Metrica Providence.

I am surprised actually that they didn’t make her the inventor of the steam creatures too.

But ANet didn’t do that. And there is a reason they avoided it. In fact in GvG in GW1 they added invincibility to respawning teams because the kitten PvP players would spawn camp the other team back then too.

The fact that ANet allows spawn camping in WvW is a massive step backwards.

Just happened again. I died at the Marionette and resurrected myself at the Waypoint. NO WEAPON SKILL WORKED ANYMORE. I had to logout to the character selection screen and back in to get the weapon skills working again and lost my place on the server.

You need to distinguish those achievements.

  • “Jumping puzzler” is achieved when you reach the chest of any JP (or pretty close to one).
  • “Jumping puzzle discoverer” is achieved when you find the start/ beginning of a JP. You usually need to “find” three different JPs for the daily one.
  • “Monthly Jumping Puzzle (12)” is achieved when you reach the chest of twelve different JPs (there’re 45 in total).

I know but every time you find the entrance you trigger the “puzzle discoverer” countdown even when there is no “Daily Puzzle Discoverer” counter to increase. That timer is probably 24 hours.

So you go to and do a puzzle at 9pm. The next day at 3am the daily is reset and now you get the “Puzzle Discoverer” but the puzzle is not reset before 9pm.

Everything connected to a daily should reset when the dailies reset and not be on a different timer.

It looks like the problem has to do with the monthly puzzle jumping achievement. The JPs I used to finish the monthly yesterday or maybe even two days ago didn`t count for the discoverer achievement, all the others seem to work.

This time the proposition is to assign two attunements to two slots and the weapon swap key switches between those to attunements.

Then you pick one skill from one of the other two attunements and assign it to the “F1” key. Rinse and repeat for “F2”, “F3” and the “F4” key.

So you get two attunements and 4 additional skill from the other two.

That would move the elementalist closer to the behaviour of the other classes and maybe make it easier for ANet to balance.

First proposition: The weapon swap key “^” should cycle through the attunements. You are in “Water” and you press “^” and it switches to “Air”, another pressing of “^” and now you are in “Earth”, then “Fire” and then “Water” again.

Second proposition: In the “Hero” window under “Skills and Traits” tab add a new item to the list titled “Attunement List” which gives the elementalist player four slots in which the player can arrange the order in which “^” cycles through the attunements.

The standard order is “Fire, Water, Air, Earth”. But the player could then do stuff like “Fire, Air, Fire, Air” or “Fire, Air, Water, empty”.

It needs to be impossible to choose “Fire, Fire,…..” or that case needs to be treated like “Fire, empty, …”.

The only reason that GS is so powerful …

100b deals the same amount of damage in 4 seconds than autoattacking with a one-handed sword does in 4 seconds. Test it yourself in the Mists. Now add to that the fact that you are rooted with 100b and it has a cooldown and you should ask for a buff of that horrible skill.

At least that is the impression I get when I see 10 keys long “skill rotations”. Those sound more like a 10 hit combos out of “Street Fighter” or “Soul Calibur” or all the other ones.

But this is supposed to be an ARPG that you play with your mouse and keyboard and not with a gamepad. But then again a gamepad does not have enough buttons to go through all the skills.

So ANet could you please fix the elementalist so that the profession fits better in a PC ARPG?

auto attack not working

That bug happened several times to me.

Just now when fighting the wurm with my engineer with the flame thrower flame jet always stopped attacking after one attack even though it is set to auto attack and I was standing right next to the worm.

Just writing about this now reminds me of another bug that might be related to that. Trying to attack the Golem MKII with a FGS often causes an “obstructed” message. Even though there is nothing in the way and I am close enough. And my earth elemental runs to the Golem or the Wurm punches it once and then runs back to me and then back to the boss, rinse and repeat….

So could it be that the auto attack doesn’t continue to attack because somehow the game things the enemy is obstructed?

But then I also could not resurrect someone. Pressing “F” did nothing.

I definitely had the wurm as a target and I was not writing accidentally in chat.

Unless we see more open world candy corn nodes as the event progresses. I agree that 10,000 is still a obscene amount of candy corn needed for a bag.

10000 candy corns = 3333 nodes = 3333 times pressing “E” = 33 mining picks.

That is ridiculous.

The change was release 24 days ago so that translates to: 25% of all the servers have beaten an event that happens several times a day more than once a day. I counted 46 servers. So averaged over all the servers the event was beaten 0.87 times a day.

And that is a successful and good change to an event? And the numbers are probably going to get worse.

Colin Johanson specifically said calculating bleeds takes a lot of bandwidth. I’m not really sure they need to go in further detail.

So does 2500 stacks of bleeding distributed over 100 enemies cause less bandwidth than 2500 stacks on one enemy?

I have seen a guildmate kill several enemies with epidemic and bleeding. I am pretty sure the total amount of stacks over all enemies was higher than 25 which would support that the 100 enemies scenario can actually be handled. Well, maybe not 100 enemies, but 10 or 20 shouldn’t be a problem.

Do you really know if the server could handle that? Are you sure that interacting with 100 mobs that are spread out is the same as interacting with one mob in a focused area? What happens if those necromancers now Epidemic those 2,500 bleeds?

No, I don’t know if the server handles that. But since that scenario isn’t mentioned in all the “technical limitations” talk at all and because there doesn’t seem to be a limitation on the amount of Condition Damage characters that are allowed into a map I assumed that the servers could handle it.

Which would leave the second question as an explanation for the limitation. But why should 2500 counters counting down to zero cause a problem if they are connected to only one enemy instead of 100?

I obviously disapprove of the bleed cap, but I’m sure ArenaNet is telling the truth about it being a technical limitation, although that should warrant designing around the limitation, not the status quo of build diversity.

I am not sure about that, main reason is that they haven’t explained WHAT the limitation really is. And again there is my scenario above and the questions it causes. “technical limitation” could be just a lame excuse to hide bad programming and/or design or the problem is really hard to explain and they just can’t explain it properly.

Now, someone came with the solution. The condition cap. 25 stacks per object. If you multiply “25 * number of stackable conditions * number of entities that can get conditions” you get the maximum number of conditions in the game. I guess they runned some stress tests and they got that they can maintain that 25 stacks of conditions on everyone…..

You both ignore that people make errors. You equate “Failure” with “Difficulty” and that is wrong. Daily grownup people fail at climbing stairs, does that make climbing stairs difficult? No, it means they made a mistake.

High population servers don’t always beat Tequatl because of mistakes some people do. That doesn’t imply that the content is difficult.

All the dragons and anything with a similar HP bar are immune. Most dungeon bosses are not immune except for the TA end bosses.

Thanks. So against Dragons using Berserker, Assassin, Valkyrie, Rampager, Knight, Cavalier, Rabid, Magi, Giver and Celestial equipment would mean one or more of the stat boni are useless!

Be happy then, because you are wrong. Thinking that everyone acts the same is foolish. Why would anyone play Dark Souls if nobody really wants a challenge?

Because it is SINGLE PLAYER. You fail because YOU screwed up! In Guild Wars 2 you fail events if SOMEONE ELSE makes a mistake.

What I read about the changes sounds horrible and artificially convoluted. It also means you can probably forget about beating it at low population times.

Timberline is blurry

This seems to be a depth blur issue. If you disable depth blur, it usually will clear up.

I reported this some time back. I think it is more of a bug with some of the Shiverpeaks maps, Timberline in particular is really bad.

Thanks. Deactivating depth blur helped which still leaves the question why depth blur is only a problem in this map?

Timberline is blurry

I have set shaders to high and when I zoom the camera out as far as it can go everything including my character looks blurry. Timberline is the only map where that happens.

Is that on purpose?

Leaving the game and then restarting it solved the problem for me.

EDIT: Problem there again after teleporting into Black Citadel.

I have helped close several portals Aetherblades, Molten and Steam but none were Twisted portals. And then you get NO kittenING reward?

  • Every map will be invaded at least once per day, probably twice. In some cases, three times.
  • If you play at the same time every day, you will see all 13 maps by the end of the Clockwork Chaos release.

I’ve done all 13 maps and I’m stuck at 12/13. How could you FAIL that badly.

I don’t want to do the invasions anymore. They BORE and ANNOY the kitten out of me. At this point ANet should just give everyone the achievement and admit they are too stupid to program a counter correctly.

Downed state's Place in the game

The downed state is only useful when

a) you are not alone and there are not too many hard hitting enemies or enemies with knock down skills around

b) the enemy is alone and nearly dead too

c) you are close to the leash distance of the mob and don’t die before the “move me away from here” skill is useable.

In every other situation downed is a waste of time. I already hated the down state in “Borderlands”. Also having the “down state” can and probably does influence balance decisions.

Congratulations. You play at different times than I do.

Sorry that you’ve had a bad experience, but you can’t blame ArenaNet for that when it works for pretty much everybody else.
