I find jumping puzzles most difficult on my Asura. Humans seem the easiest to me to use.

Consider your guild bank to be unsecured and only put in it that which you will not miss if it is taken.

We use ours to put extra stuff in generated from leveling crafting mostly, potions and foods free for others to take and use and intermediate items not needed by the depositor anymore but that could help the next person leveling crafting. Also, extra harvested materials that a crafter could use while leveling.

We never deposit money in it.

Anyhow, permission is key and trust is misplaced.

Ranger and elementalist are fun. To be honest, my ele works well with any medium or light armor class. Not as much fun pairing her with other light armor classes.

You shouldn’t have to transfer to another server to complete the map.

Map completers need a new skill. Call it infiltrate. The skill allows you to stealth your way through walls to needed poi and vista. You cannot see any other players (no spying) and can only interact with a vista.

What I want to know is how does this affect my chances of getting final rest?

- No effect because the better loot change will still be in place and that’s what made it start showing up in the chests….or
-Chance greatly decreased because it was affected by the guaranteed rare

I think this is one people notice more, rather than going to the account section. At the very least a link in the first post of that thread, to the bot hot spots thread would go a long way. Perhaps making a consolidated post on all the info, links etc that are related to botting, what you are doing about it, how to report etc.

I think you should sticky this thread and link to it from the thread listed in the quote above. It will make it easier on everyone to direct people to the sticky thread.

With millions of players, I’m sure things like this happen a lot and it would take a huge amount of manpower to investigate each case.

They will have to come up with an in game way to try and prevent this.

I’d add that the NPC could also sell the personal story items also.

It has been like that all along. I think it is because you are in an instance which is treated as separate from the city.

When running I put the pet on passive or store it. It is annoying though as you have to remember to take it off passive to fight or constantly restow it.

Even if it is on passive it can still draw aggro and since it is running a distance away from you, you have a larger aggro circle than those without pets. Best to stow it. It would be nice if they would have the stow button be more controllable. For example, have a stow until unstowed choice. That would be nice for running and for jumping puzzles.

I would love to have an underwater zone and underwater new races and perhaps classes. Quaggan and Largos for example.

You should probably post what days and times of day you play, including the timezone.

I’ve resorted to avoiding using the staff on my necro just to avoid the sound. I want to get final rest for her. At that point I will just turn sound off I guess. I really wish they would remove that sound from the staff. You get a few necros at an event using the staff and wow, it gets annoying.

The mesmer greatsword one doesn’t bother me as much but I can see how it would get annoying if it did bother you.

I completely agree with you. Nothing is appreciated, everything is an opportunity to complain.

I had no trouble figuring out what I was supposed to do. I think perhaps people should realize that different people like different things.

My take on it is this: It is a Living story. Tyria has no newspapers, you find things out by word of mouth. When strange things start happening, people are confused, some know more than others, they have different opinions, there is no complete set of information, no one official voice in Tyria that knows everything and is willing to tell it. So we find out bits and pieces by talking to people and by using our imagination. We wonder what is happening. Why are the dredge and flame legion working together? What is their goal? And the consortium, surely they aren’t benevolently helping the refugees? What is their ultimate goal?

Those that enjoy a mystery and figuring things out have explored, talked to NPCs, observed changes, and enjoyed the content. Personally, I have enjoyed this. I have been able to do everything at a slower pace, without the rush rush rush that annoys me. I have been able to wonder about what is going on, speculate with friends on what we think will unfold, and have fun anticipating what will next happen. Heck, it has even inspired me to take my alts through Wayfarers map completion now so that they have all waypoints.

Does the guild bank history change players names to “unknown user” if they leave the guild? Has anyone left recently? Or joined and then left? Perhaps someone decided to quit playing and left all their gold to the guild?

Could ArenaNet make the dead players have a different nameplate color, like grayed out? all that red nameplates are confusing as hell, at least for me.

A hundred red nameplates in the middle of the action (in a 3 servers SM attack for example), and all dead or alive players has the same red color? why? Can’t imagine after the patch that remove culling, I will see even more red names in my screen.

I think greyed out is a great solution for the opposing team. For our team the names could change from green to yellow when they are down/dead.

I agree. I would go a step further and say that you have armor from the start that you can choose that is race and profession specific.

No. I hate this account bound currency. Character bound currency is the best way to go, because then all my characters can earn the different currency’s and get the rewards at approximately the same speed. Take Laurels for instance, It will take years for all my character to get the rewards from the laurels, since it is only 1 laurel per day per account. If the Laurels were character bound instead, then they could have made it so that each character can earn 1 laurel per day.

This account bound currency is very much anti-multi character.

Prior to karma jugs, you would have to finish the daily on the account you wanted to get the karma. You could not do the daily on each character and get karma on each character. I’m sure laurels would be the same. I’d rather they have all currencies, including karma, be account wide and not in the form of tokens that you store somewhere.

You have to have 15 characters in your post for it to post.

They only show up on the minimap.

Best thing to do is try and earn gold to exchange for gems to pay for a transfer.

The problem is too many people at the events. It doesn’t matter where they came from.

They show up at the events because the loot is good and the time investment is short. So many people show up that if you are 1/10th of a second late you miss the event all together.

Rather than scapegoat guesting, it would be better to fix the underlying problems. Personally, I think more boss events with good loot and unique skins spread around all over the place might help. (why do people always look for a scapegoat to blame their troubles on? always, always they point and say THOSE PEOPLE CAUSED ALL MY PROBLEMS!!!!!! GET THEM!!!! All the old Frankenstein monster movies with the crowd running around with pitchforks and torches comes to mind.)

There is an alternative – fill a buy order.

Can you fill a buy order with it deducting all the fees from the buyers payment?
That is, if you don’t have the money to pay the 5% selling fee, does it subtract that from the buy order profit?

Or do you have the money taken from you prior to the money being taken from them?

If it is the first, then I suppose if there were no buy orders you could advertise in LA still and tell people if the want to buy it they need to place a buy order.

What if there was a choice of 5% listing, 10% selling OR 20% selling charge. That way people who don’t have enough money for the selling tax could list for less profit overall.

If some mechanism isn’t put into place for poor people who “luck out” and get an item that sells for a lot of money to be able to list that item, then the game will encourage outside of the tp deals which don’t act as a money sink and are susceptible to fraud.

It’s all well and good to say, you should have used the trading post but if someone doesn’t have the listing fee, how can they?

Also, to prohibit people from taking advantage of that and listing things for way above a selling price (to use as storage), if they unlist the item without selling it, then they automatically have to pay the 5% listing fee.

Glad I had this ticked on and …shouldn’t you stop selling town head gear until this is fixed?

In a strictly anecdotal manner, I too have noticed the attitudes that have been inherited in 250 years have been a turn for the worse. I compare the calmer, friendlier, European Districts of ages past with the oft vitriolic and/or juvenile map channel [particularly in Queensdale and Lion’s Arch, as of late] of the current Tyria and sigh with both sadness and confusion.

A simple answer may be to disable the communication platforms as a whole, but it is a shame that what might otherwise be an effective tool is instead something preferred to be discarded.

“Surely we’re a little bit more grown up” An honorable wish, despite the evidence to suggest a percentage of the population is contrary to that statement.

Perhaps, in time, the ‘time vs. reward’ scales will balance out across wider swaths of the world and some of these issues will resolve themselves. We should not be holding our breath, however.

I added the bold… Queensdale has some decent chat in it but more and more has the self-involved “I love to hear myself talk and try and shock people with how nasty I can get” juvenile chat. I wish it would go away but its been present in every game I’ve played so I have little hope for it.

I’ll wait and see how this plays out. I hope it doesn’t encourage me limit myself to one class in wvw.

Poor person was probably from pve and just trying to map. Frustrating to almost, oh so close yet so far, get to that poi, skill point, or vista and then die.

I would like for them to have more than one tag.

For example, how about some guild tags on the field? So that guilds working in squads could stick with their leader more easily.

Or ..what about the ability to change the color of the commander tag? Then we could strategically follow the green one instead of the blue one quickly without having to hover over the tag for the name.

If the guild leader leaves the guild, is there even a guild leader? If there isn’t a guild leader, how can he get invited back?

Some of the people in our small guild of family and friends were very excited about the new guild missions/bounties/puzzles/etc. That is, until they found out we can’t do them. Now those that want to do the guild missions and get the rewards are representing in other guilds most of the time.

I hope that something is put in for small guilds to achieve as a guild in the future along these lines. We need some love.

When we are all on at the same time, we will party up and play together but ….here is the worst part… the influence we used to accumulate when we grouped is now going to those large guilds they are representing. You know, the ones that don’t really need it. Our small guild that really needs the influence is crippled by that loss.

-Credit for killing creatures is now easier to receive in situations when many players are attacking a single target.

-Increased the loot rewards on many world boss chests, including the chests in Orr temples and the dragon chests.

-Fixed a bug on certain world boss chests that was causing them to drop fewer rewards than intended. These chests can now only be looted once per day, to encourage players to fight multiple bosses and spread out across the world.

I’m not sure I located the first complaining threads about guesting. The oldest I was able to find was the merged thread and it said “7 days ago” for first post there.

I found a post about guesting that was 12 days old but it was asking that EU and US servers be allowed to guest with each other.

So if indeed, the complaining started approximately 7 days ago, then it followed shortly after the February loot update. Not shortly after the January guesting update. This indicates to me it is a loot update problem.

It is possible that I missed a post complaining about guesting that occurred before the February update. If so, I’m sure someone will point it out.

They really should have a history feature to the mail tab that lets you know who you sent things to.

The problem with the TP though is the 15% total tax, which may not seem like a lot but if you are selling items that are really valuable, it makes a lot of difference!

For normal items, the TP is probably your best choice.

For some people it means if they luck out and get a fantastic item that would sell for a lot of gold, they are out of luck because they can’t afford the listing price.

I have unfortunately wasted karma also. I accidently bought 3 pieces of the wrong weight once and 2 of the same weapon once. I think the problem could be solved by making the karma armor and weapons account bound rather than soul bound. Either that or let you sell back for a karma refund.

I’m just saving them for now to through into the mystic forge some day.

If you made a character right away and still have it, type /age and then do some calculations.

Ok, I think I may have a solution for all the guesting issues going on. You see ANet want’s guesting because they are trying to make money out of having people switch servers. They put in place a system where a user from one server can “try out” another server to see if they like it there and if they want to make it a permanent home they buy a server pass from the gem store to transfer over…..

They talked about guesting before the game was even released. They allowed free server transfers until they got guesting in place. The intention is for friends on different servers to be allowed to play together. Guesting should be allowed for that reason.

Rather than destroy features that are important to people who want to use them in the spirit intended, why not go after the root problem.

The problem = the loot chests that people are overloading zones to get. Even if you remove guesting, your own server will overload the zone.

I have not guested anywhere. I am rarely at any of the events because I have limited time to play and use that time to do the daily and then a little time in wvw. The only time I am at one of the events is if I am doing the daily in the area and the event happens to pop up.

However, I think many solutions suggested will not work. Somehow they need to spread the populations out across the entire server. Having predictable good loot in one place is always going to be overloaded.

As much as I hate to suggest a nerf to the chests, I think that the bosses that can be completed by people at level ikittenone should be adjusted so that people in that zone can experience an exciting first boss event WITHOUT a bunch of level 80’s being there to overpower the boss. I remember encountering the shadow behemoth when leveling my first character. It was exciting with all of us (at the level of the zone) desperately fighting that boss. That experience is ruined now for others, new to the game, leveling in Queensdale.

Only Anet knows which potential solution would work. I wish them luck with their solutions.

… number 3 is a technical limitation of our system and not a bug. Unfortunately, this is not something we can change as of this time….

The problem with #3 indicates to me that all skills that are affected by lack of flat terrain should be reworked. There is very little truly flat terrain in the game anywhere.

I respectfully suggest that once you reach the end of the story, the portals become two-way.

If they remove everything someone doesn’t like, pretty soon there will be nothing left in game. :P

I’d rather they just change it. Put it on a separate slot or something so that you can keep your stats.

Maybe your ‘friend’ did exact the same movements as a bot will do. And from that other topic, the reported areas are watched. I’ve farmed a lot too but not in a certain pattern.

Banned from games can also ban you from forums. And if they are not banned from forums they may be too annoyed to post.

The way people throw around the word “exploit” is mind boggling. Seriously, can’t we reserve use of the word for exploits and not use it for everything under the sun?

I have a new theory. The shadow behemoth event (when it last worked) had probably 10 commander tags there last time and we were lagging very badly! I think that the commander tag must have caused all the lag!

The problem is that lots of people in one area results in the event lagging. Prior to the change, the SB would lag in Queensland on my server just because it was so popular.
If guesting IS contributing to the problem then it is due to some bug in the guesting script that interacts with the space time continuum allowing massive lag monsters to attack.

Whatever the problem is, they need to address the underlying cause and fix that. We lagged at the event where Lion’s Arch was attacked. We lagged at the event where we went to the island to kill the big whatchamacallit. We lagged when the pumpkin king appeared…was that due to guesting? Nope. It was due to more people being in one place at one time than the server can manage.

There was a guy on my server fussing at someone for guesting and then other people started ridiculing the guy for fussing at someone who was on his own server. Seriously, do people think they have the name of everyone from their server memorized?

The problem is large numbers of people at events causing lag. That’s the problem that needs to be addressed. It doesn’t matter if they are from your own server or guesting, the lag will occur.

And no, I’m not guesting on other servers. Heck I’m not even trying to make it to the events on my server everyday.

My biggest complaint is that everything was gated behind art of war. Why couldn’t it be set up where we can unlock puzzles, etc. without the art of war line?

Well its been happening on Sea of Sorrows too. I don’t think this is something specific to your server. I don’t know if guesting has anything to do with it or if its just the events are more popular due to increased loot.

I have three soulbound runes that are unusable on the characters they dropped for. I’d like them to at the very least be account bound.
