I’d love for them to put some of the guildwars armor sets in game. There were some very nice ones.

As far as whether it unlock for the account or for the character. I would prefer for the account but would be fine with either.

I don’t think it would prevent you from doing areas with your alts. I don’t complete areas to get the armor looks, I complete the map in the area to get the area completed. That won’t change. I think people who are completionists on characters will still complete them and people who aren’t will not.

As for the other objections to making it an account wide unlock such as economic ones to Anet. Only Anet has the data to analyze what would be better for them.

I’m in the group who doesn’t really bother with armor looks until max level because you out level the armor so rapidly. I’ve only got one set of armor for looks and won’t get more due to it taking up space. Plus, why buy another set of max level armor just to have more than one look? Not wasting the coin or karma on that. If I decide I want a different set of stats then ok.

Anet can probably tell by the fine transmutation stones how many are like me and how many are willing to transmute (and buy stones over and over) all the time.

The PVP locker opens armor for you so they already have some sort of system in place. I would be ok with purchasing a PvE locker.

Am I enjoying GW2?

Yes, there is much I like about it.

I’m concerned about the direction they may be taking with gear. One of the things that I thought would be unique here is that you wouldn’t be obsolete with your gear constantly. One of the appeals of GW1 was the fact that you could reach maximum level quickly and the gear stats weren’t an issue. One of the reasons I left EQ2 was boredom of working for gear just for it to immediately be outdated and useless.

To be honest though, I miss having quests. The personal story was good, but I miss the part of questing that tells little stories in a game.

I do like that they have you naturally find things to do and you don’t have to run back and forth across the map to turn in quests and pick up the next one. I like the DE, hearts, mapping, etc.

But honestly, I don’t remember a lot about each area I’ve mapped other than they are fighting their particular enemy (centari, nightmare court, blood legion, etc.). I hope that they develop each area more.

Funny thing is, I remember the story from each of the areas of GW1 and I completed those years ago. I can’t remember a story from an area in GW1 that I completed a couple of days ago.

I don’t use MF gear yet. It’s way down on my list after getting the weapons, etc I want. I would prefer that it be something that you could add additional to the other stats, not in place of.

I plan on going there, completing what has to be completed, and then avoiding it from then on.

I’ve found there are zones I like and will return to and zones I will probably rarely go back to. I don’t like desolate ugly zones. And I don’t like monsters that yank you around like a rag doll on a string. Yes I know it is doable and yes you can get around the blah blah blah of the monsters but I just don’t find the area fun. It is tedious to me.

Does anyone really like the area? If so, what is it you like about the area?

I resorted to using a table copied from wiki to a word file. (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Explorable_zone) Now as I complete an area, I highlight it’s name in yellow. When I’m mapping, I open that and the gw2cartographers site. I’m going to make a guess that you have some area somewhere that is cloudy but is difficult to detect due to blending in.

One thing you could do is just count the vistas from your world map in each area and compare to this table. It might narrow down where you need to go and save you some coin that way. Luckily there aren’t that many vistas on each map usually. Hopefully the poi’s that you need are near the vistas.

Did they give you the wrong account back? It seems odd that your name could be changed once and not again.

I like that. They could also add rabbits, raccoon, armadillos, and other animals seen out and about across the land. And if they started an insect group that would give several other choices.

The other is on the docks near the ship that takes you to Lost Shore.

It’s too hard to type in chat and run/fight mobs. Mostly when I group its with long term friends or the occasional person where we are after the same objectives. Usually the latter type is very short lived.

I’d like to suggest that all sounds that are repeated frequently have a way to be turned off. Particularly annoying is my necro fighting sounds and my sylvari yipping like a chihuahua when she is crippled. I’ve resorted to just turning game sounds off when I play my necro. It is the only way I can tolerate playing her. At least my sylvari isn’t crippled every time she fights.

I like having the game sounds on and hate that this is causing me to turn them off.

In another game we had a long time member (months) who was very nice and helpful. Everyone liked him. Then he scammed some members of the guild, robbed the guild bank, and bought a name change, and changed servers.

Turns out there are people in the world who get a real thrill out of fooling people with their acting abilities. It’s hard sometimes to tell who was hacked and who was playing everyone for a thrill.

@MMOJumper No, it was directed at the OP. I just didn’t understand what he was getting at in his first few posts. I see now he was talking about the lack of boss reset due to respawning and running back from waypoints.

I think repair costs are enough punishment and definitely an incentive to get better. I agree with you. I’d much rather people be able to respawn and get back into the fray to try a new strategy. Plus, it would be a pain to be one of the ones who hadn’t died and have to die on purpose so the group can respawn.

I’ve completed the mapping there, done the monthly kills, but still need to get credit for the jumping puzzles. I’m a PvE type although I enjoy WvW occasionally. I wouldn’t consider it unfair to me if they modified the WvW requirement on the mapping.

My suggestion is that they move WvW to another achievement category. Have the WvW map, kills, and JP on that separate achievement. The advantages of this would be that people not interested in participating in WvW won’t be taking up spots in the queue, they could add a larger variety of WvW activities into the achievements, and those who like having tasks to complete could have more available to them.

Finally, in your last post I get your meaning. You are saying that people are dying to bypass a particularly difficult boss. They respawn at the waypoint and don’t go back to fight that boss.

I’m sure their are other ways to handle that sort of problem than preventing respawning at the waypoint. For example, if there is a chest reward, they could require that all bosses be killed before the chest can be opened.

I would love to have more pets to find. At least appearance wise. It was a fun hunt to find them and I wish I had some more to find. Some rare and hard to get.

The LFG that gw1 has would work. As long as you can state what you are looking for and its on a tab that is easy to read and is prominent in your UI (people can find it easily so they know it exists), it would work.

Spamming map/Lion’s arch chat is not so great a way to have to LFG.

I’ll never get this until they fix the bug. I keep forgetting I can’t zone or log off.

One thing that would increase their use is to let you waypoint to the city free of cost. Many people would use the cities for crafting, banking, etc needs if you could waypoint to them without cost.

1) A mechanism to unlock weapon and armor skins for the account. Advantages: something to achieve (collection all the skins), more variety in looks available to people, you can use your bank and bag storage for something else.

2) Some sort of LFG/Dungeon Finder. Cross-server that facilitates building a party.

3) Waypoint costs that don’t increase with level. The high cost at level 80 discourages helping out someone who is 3 + silver away from you.

4) Some sort of account restoration feature. I’ve been watching the hacked account thread with alarm. I don’t know that I would play anymore if I had to start over. You can’t start over really. Hearts can’t be repeated, personal story can’t be repeated. Honestly, I wish that was your number one priority. Every person who doesn’t come back due to losing everything represents actually several lost people because people play with their friends. Sometimes entire guilds leave.

5) Housing and furniture building.

6) Make items that are currently soulbound on acquire be account bound on acquire. Just have things that are destined to be soulbound, be soulbound on equip.

7) Have the blueprints be account bound. I’d rather stack them all in one neat stack and use them on one toon instead of having them take up so much storage space.

I think they should lower the costs to what they are for the lower levels, say level 10 and leave it at that cost. I didn’t mind using waypoints at the low levels but now I tend to spend more time trying to avoid waypoint costs.

I would be one of those people collecting all the skins. It would be a fun and long lasting goal. I wonder how feasible it would be to have such a system? I would love it.

As an alternative to tabs, NPCs could be populated into the Hall of Monuments. You could have an NPC for each type of armor (light, medium, heavy), weaponsmiths of different types. Then they could work like the HOM npc now works. As you “unlock” the skins, they could then have them there. It would be great to be able to “build” your HOM by doing things in GW2.

Alternatively these NPC’s could be in your home district.

I would pay for an expansion that had a feature like this.

To be honest, I think your idea has one flaw. You propose using the t-stones to put the skins into the skin saver, but then being able to always put any of the skins on any item for free after that. Well, I don’t think that’s going to fly because that means that (before more skins get put in) you could actually reach a point where you are no longer using t-stones. Why is this an issue? Because they’re on the cash shop and so are obviously one of the ways Anet counts on to make additional money.

Instead I think it would be better to use something to save the skin (it could be a t-stone or it could be a new item) and then when you withdraw the skin from your collection it pops out as a white item with no stats that you can use the t-stone on to convert it. So, now you’re still going to be using t-stones every time you want to give yourself a new look.

If they require the previously suggested method of having unlocks require the transmutation stones and having more stones required for the rarer armor and weapons I think it would have the opposite effect.

I have my stones sitting in the bank in a big pile. It isn’t worth it to me to transmute while leveling because I would have to transmute every time I got a higher level piece of armor.

I bought a set of fine to transmute a look for my level 80. One look. I would love to have multiple looks but it takes up bank space.

I would love to have it so that you use the transmutation stones to unlock the item once for the account. Then have it like the HOM npc where you can then use it without further use of the stones or anything else.

Many of us had great fun dying the weapons in GW1. Also, some of the skins I would love to have available (holiday events?, special skins?).

I tend to save the can’t sell/can’t salvage items until I have 4 of them (4 blue or 4 green) and use them at the mystic forge.

In some games they classify raids based on how many parties you need to typically be able to complete the raid. For example in EQ2 you can have a x2 raid or x4, etc. made up of 2 parties or 4 parties. Typically they are laggy due to the larger numbers of people and the particle effects of the spells/skills. They can take hours to complete. Often they have loot in them that has stats on it needed to do well in the raid. Sadly, by the time you get the loot that makes the raid easier to do, you no longer have a reason to do the raid because you were repeating it to get the loot.

I think he meant don’t leave the very first part after character creation but before completing that first part to get to the starter area. I didn’t know you could go to the mists in the starter story. If do that, does it glitch your personal story?

A solution would be for the color of their name to change if they are dead. That way you would immediately know not to target them in a fight.

I see ‘Guesting’ as nothing more than a huge potential for bugs, and a never-ending source of Tickets for Customer Service.

I disagree. I’m looking forward to guesting as I have friends and family on other servers I would like to quest with.

My party ended up on three different servers (2 overflow and 1 regular). You would get the “full server” message.

There is a huge incentive to group. If you are grouped, as best I can tell, everyone in the group is getting some credit if anyone in the group hits the mob. Therefore, it is best to have the maximum size group in order to get decent drops.

This is based on my observations of when I have participated in events solo versus grouped. If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

The content and story were great. Loved all three phases. The battle at the end. The new level 80 area. Haven’t tried the dungeon yet but I’ve heard its fun.

Didn’t like:
The timing of it. Please don’t have things in that short of a time frame again. It just stresses people and puts too much pressure on everyone (including you all). The bugs and disconnects at critical times caused a lot of stress on folks too.

Suggestion: Debug then run the entire event again. Its worth doing right.

I enjoyed the event itself. I was terrified of getting dc’d at the end as I was lagging horribly. Luckily I managed to stay in game. I feel bad for the folks that dc’d.

Just mail us the updates we don’t have npc’s for.

I like the zone much better than Orr. I hate being yanked around like a rag doll by the undead in Orr. A small group does ok in the new area. Some of it can be solo or duo.

I like the new map. Its a nice change from Orr.

I haven’t done this one yet but I look forward to it. The other jp was very nice.

When I was running through in a very small group later I was getting loot from mobs. I think you just need smaller groups of people.

Can you just mail everyone the map fragment? Unless someone frequents the forums how would they have even known this.

The event itself content wise is good and I would enjoy it. However so far I haven’t gotten to complete much of it. Also, I know this has to be hard on the people working at arenanet.

To me, the biggest issue is that we don’t have time to complete the quests.

My suggestion:
Start these things at your regular worktime on Monday morning. Then you can work out bugs at a reasonable time for you and roll it out all week. Then the following weekend have stuff that is multiple times for multiple timezones perhaps. Just make the events so that they don’t frustrate us due to not having time to complete them and make you all work day and night on bugs.

Find or start a guild that isn’t focused on voice chat. There is no way you are going to change people’s minds that are acting that way. Logic and reason will not convince them. People who aren’t that way, you don’t have to convince. The best thing to do is move along to a different guild.

I agree. I am not going to stand around in town not playing just to show off town clothes. Please make them skinnable on armor.

Basically, I’ve learned from the last two events: Ignore them. They aren’t important. Just wait to see what does work and if it easily fits in, I might do them. Might not.

I talked to him each of the times I defeated him. Maybe sometime I’ll be the only one there and it will update for me. I think it may be limited to the first person or 2 that manages to talk to him out of the crowd there.

But…..you can defeat him and still not get the update. I’ve defeated him 4 times just now and no update.

I’m giving up on it.

Could you please just mail us the updates at this point. Some are getting updated with Canach and some not. I’ve fought him several times and no mail. No update.

Many were here and could have completed the quests yesterday or last night but had to give up. It isn’t fun trying to figure out how to get a quest to update or moving from broken one to broken one hoping that you will get an update this time. This if for the ones other than Noll. I know Noll is still broken and I’m not even trying him.

I like having a daily. I never do the monthly. A weekly would be a nice addition (but not replacement).
