Lol, I thought this would be like an advertisement for an in game event or something. Events like a prom or something would actually be pretty fun if you organized them in game with things like a costume contest with a gold prize or even a tourney to go with it.
Anyways, good luck winning against my darling Naaga:
Do you really care all that much? How much do you actually go to Timberline to do things? It’s just one of those maps that are never really visited after finishing your personal story and hitting 80.
Though I would agree with you that it is a gorgeous zone, I would prefer Mord destroys Dredgehaunt myself, now THAT is an ugly map.
There is a ramp on the right side that lets you walk right up to Aerin. Just go up there and melee him, dodge or walk out of the bombs, and then range him when he jumps to another platform. When he ups his shield just pick up a sun aspect and ram into him.
Seriously, it is not hard at all. I don’t get you people.

As in, will more rewards be opened up for them other than some bad recipes and equipment? Will the currency still be relevant past this patch for more things? I need to know if these should be something I should farm.
Glad you have a good time in the pve, if I where you I would go for map completion right now. Gives rewards and having all wp’s open is nice.
Why can’t I have your rng?
Anyone opened enough of these to know what can be gained from them? I’m curious since they are so easy to aquire.
It’s easy, I’m not sure why so many people are having issues with him. This guide may seem unwarranted to some, but I’ve seen so many complaints that I felt the need to make it.
1.) Run through the trash mobs on the bottom level and keep to your right. You should see a stone ramp that leads up to the upper level.
2.) Once on the upper level jump to the center platform and begin to hit Aerin and dodge his bombs/grenades.
3.) If he jumps to another platform equip a ranged weapon and continue to plug away at him, you do not need to jump platforms to hit him.
4.) When he turns on his shield grab a nearby sun aspect and rush into it, then his shield will be down.
5.) Rinse and repeat.
You do not need to kill the trash on the bottom, the npc’s will keep that stuff busy for you, and you have no need to use any aspect except for the sun one
There are three that involve combat, one purely story instance that comes after the three combat instances, and some running around in between.
I’ve already accidentally blown through it then -____- Ty man.
Do you really want more useless account bound stuff that everyone has? At least the boxes bring in money.
If anyone knows please do tell, I want to know so I can spread out how much I do over the next two weeks.
Then why does it say the gates will open tomorrow? -____-
Anyone know when we can expect the LS S2 patch is being launched on to the live client? I’m so excited to see these new areas and enemies and things Anet pls.
Do you want safe methods? Or are you willing to gamble a bit?
If you want to play it safe, I would continue world bosses and dungeon running but also add BL key farming to your list.
If you are willing to gamble a bit for some greater profits, you could always flip items on the TP or dump things in the forge to hope for higher returns. Unidentified dye gambling always worked at least decently for me, mystic toileting for a precurser to sell is freakishly hard but if you manage to pull it off you get a big kitten chunk of money back.
Either way, if you just want to outfit your toons, I would suggest continuing what you’re doing. Or you could even put like 25 dollars into the game, convert to gold, and buy the gear.
“Hi, I just bought this game, why do people that finished map completion before July 1st 2014 have advantage over me? Why do I have to complete one more zone? Worst update ever!”
Nope, I don’t think it will be new zone. Or maybe something like Southsun, which doesn’t count towards map completion.
Does WoW not place this burden on its new players? Why not Gw2 then? It’s kinda ridiculous that game development could be held back because “muh new playas dun wanna complete moar things”. :/
However, as long as it’s a sizeable new zone with better rewards and kitten to do I’ll be happy.
Please let it be a new zone and not just some garbage thrown into Brisban or something. I hunger for a new place to explore that hopefully has better rewards than what Orr has become. I think I’ll throw my computer out a widow if it’s just an instance T____T
Discuss: Your evergrowing need for a new zone that actually has rewards that are worth a kitten .
GW2 has been extremely uneventful lately, with that said, I’m wondering what you all are doing with your time in game.
I personally am trying to stock up on things that I think will be in high demand in the future and just in general trying to accumulate funds. I’m not really the rp type or “just walk around and take in the sights” type myself.
How about you?
Only in places where it could become profitable. I try not to do it too much so I don’t end up looking like a bot.
Are you kittened? It’s so easy to get…
This content to not made for random pugs. If anything the megaserver have made this content worse for groups with organized people. In my opinion they need to revert bloodtide and sparkfly to the old system so at least we could guest to low pop server and some control on who is on our map. Or better, makes these two encountered instanced and add some sort of raid mechanic. Khyber my best suggestion is to find a group that does it regular and join that guild, other leave those encounters alone so you don’t get into organized groups way.
The rooms I have joined have not been organized groups, even the one on Blackgate was just a bunch of randoms (there where a lot of us though). I get what you’re saying though.
How big does a guild need to be to do Teq successfully?
Glad to hear you had some good luck, but some of us get stuck in some really kittenty underpopulated rooms whenever we try so we can never complete it. It’s beyond annoying.
I’m getting more than a little irritated with this whole Tequatl and Three Headed Wurm thing. Even with megaservers it seems that every room I join can’t complete them. I have only gotten Tequatl once and that was on Blackgate, even then we almost didn’t make it.
The issues are:
- Low numbers of people
- Low group coordination
- Idiots on turrets
So my question to you GD, is how do I ensure that I get into a room with enough people to complete Tequatl and the Three Headed Wurm? Is buying a tag and leading people around my way the only way to fix the other two issues? Any thoughts on these two bosses in general?
I see a black blob in the picture. ; P
And I agree, but not just for flames. There are actually many interesting effects on armor that you can’t dye and it’s really dissapointing. I don’t know if maybe it’s just to complicated to implement or what, but it is a bummer.
Better lighting now?
Hey I’m a necromancer who has been playing since launch, if we’re built for power we’re actually a kitten good asset for the team. Dagger/Warhorn is actually really good for damage. Not to mention the fact that if the group is low on condition output to begin with we will still have that even when we build power. Deathshroud is a huge asset as well.
Ranger: I have found that the “Spotter” trait has made these guys soooooo much better. As long as they have spotter and use melee I don’t mind them in groups.
*Thief: * Why someone would refuse a thief is beyond me, the things they can do with SB are amazing. Not to mention they have the highest single target damage in the game (granted they aren’t p/p trash).
*Engineer: * Have excellent support abilities, and amazing damage output (have you ever SEEN a nade engi?) I have an 80 engi, they are better than people make them out to be.
Pretty sure anyone can start the condition.
Then no one would wear anything but fire armor, and CoF (the easiest dungeon) would have the best armor. Makes no sense xD Can’t say I don’t agree that it would be awesome though. If Anet wanted to make it more exclusive they could do something like an “Element of Color” that you need to work up to and can apply to an armor piece.
A lot of color combos can be used with it actually, I know because I have been running around in CoF mixed with Arah armor for a really long time. You don’t necessarily need to pair it with black/red, get creative.
Attached pic is what I normally run, midnight green and abyss with that armor. You white dyes with it if you want.
I think you can get that “extremly lucky” getting the luck esscences by salvaging that junk
In my experience, magic find has never seemed to help.
I mean really, we don’t even know how it works. Anet won’t tell us.
I’m currently sitting under a mountain of blues and greens. Can we at least make some loot items that build into bigger items that help us get what we want in this game? You could make it like 1000 of X makes 1 of Y, then 100 of Y makes one of Z, and so on. I just want to feel like I am making progress.
Just make farming better in general, as it stands the only real way to make money in this game is to flip the TP, spam dungeons to an unhealthy degree, or get extremely lucky.
It’s been the same few legendary weapons since launch and some still completely outshine the others. Not to mention the fact that some classes are left in the dust for having thematically fitting weapons.
I personally just think each weapon type should have two different legendary weapons for it. You know how we have the rainbow themed Bifrost? What if we gave that an opposite skin or something and made a dark and gritty, or elemental themed skin?
I don’t know, I just think Anet needs to try to fit more themes with their legendary weapons. A lot of classes are pretty SOL when it comes to getting a theme fitting legendary for them. Some old legendary weapons like the minstrel need to have more effects added as well.
Sorry if this post was weird to read, kinda in a scatterbrained mood tonight.
Like, permanent cool stuff? Or the much needed balance changes that the game needed when I left? Do I have a long grind to look forward to for ascended? (Please no…)
Whats been happening?
The guest and stop alerting Anet of our farming spots? It’s always open somewhere.
That you don’t know the actual meaning of Ranger makes this thread invalid.
/thread.
The only thing that makes a ranger a ranger is the pet, otherwise they are marksmen.
Let’s be honest here, pets are garbage and giving them more damage would just become useless in dungeons when they die to AOE or can’t hit a moving target.
The point is that a heavy armored faceroll class should not get the best ranged dps.
Mesmers are only picked for portals, Feedback, and Time Warp in dungeons? I won’t deny that those skills are extremely helpful but they’re hardly the only reasons why mesmers are good to bring along.
Why else would you bring one along? They have utility and decent damage… but if you didn’t want utility and you wanted a mage what would stop you from bringing an elem?
Shouldn’t heavy classes have less damage than light ones? Just because they do have more defense in general? Gonnae blunt here, mesmers are only really picked in dungeon groups for portal, feedback, and timewarp. Warriors still hit higher than them and take less damage.
Does not make sense to me how Warriors have the highest dps in the game. From melee and range. If you really think about it, thieves should have the highest melee dps because they get blown up if they are even looked at. Rangers should have the highest ranged dps because they’re RANGErs. Warriors should be somewhere in the middle as the jack of all trades master of none considering how many weapons they have available to them.
How does this not make sense?
Hell.
Yes.
Anything you can tell us or hint at Anet? Hopefully reworks of some existing legendary weapons will come with this yes?
That wont wipe on Lupi over and over until everyone but me leaves.
I know how to run ARAH, please just if you’re good at it add my necro Naaga Soulstealer in game. Sick of bads.
For your necromancer?
Our options are:
Kraitkin
The spear (not gonna type the name, too hard haha.)
Frostfang
Howler
The Bifrost
Incinerator
Meteorlogicus
So which are you making? I personally am having a hard time picking between Howler, Frostfang, or Meteorlogicus. Love the design of Meteorlogicus, but I hate that it has no added effects. I like the ice on Frostfang, and Howler just kinda suits a Necro I guess (But something tells me I shouldn’t make an off-hand legendary.)
Just because a server is high population does not mean they all do WvW.
Anet I highly suggest you put in some sort of function that allows you to see a server’s WvW population. So small WvW servers don’t have to get matched up against monster servers that have triple their numbers. I’m in Anvil Rock and I’m against Gate of Madness and Fegusun’s Crossing. The Fergies have similar numbers to us, Gates of Madness usually has zergs triple the size of ours and dominates everything. This isn’t even fair.
(BTW, stop camping the EB jumping puzzle with a zerg of thirty and sitting there too. Literally super annoying, I simply don’t have the numbers to go up and remove you so I just wont get badges of honor I guess…)
You will just be getting daily chests correct? Like those count towards all of them and each day I can expect a chest?
Kralkatorrik
Bubbles
Jormag
Primordus
Consider that when each is introduced it would most likely come with a new zone.
I’d really like to see Bubbles be introduced. There is a lot of mystery and freakyness about him because of how little information we have. With him we could get a fully underwater zone (Hopefully with lots of Largos? Hell it could make Largos playable.), some new additions and fixes to underwater combat. The armor and stuff released with him would be kitten and water themed. Also, the boss fight could be made absolutely amazing. The lore around the whole thing would be great too.
A close second for me would be Primordus. I think that would be better to be introduced last though. Being the biggest force and lurking underground like a bomb waiting to go off.
What about you?
Stop QQing about thieves. Just stop.
They are balanced in their own right. Every class is supposed to have it’s niche. Thieves just happen to be some of the best roamers in the game. Look at warrior 40k 100 blades. Theyre kings of pve, why cant thieves be kings of small scale combat in wvw.
Any method of doing this you would suggest? How much money did you start with? Just ordered a bunch of rare rifles from the tp because you made me feel lucky.
If you don’t want people farming in this game please nerf them all the farming spots and not just everything but CoF.
Honestly, you nerf and destroy every other farming spot and leave this in the game. What are the professions that are not Warrior and Mesmer supposed to do for money? You nerf the farming spots all of us have access to, and leave this in the game. I literally have access to no ways to really make money, yet my friend who just happened to pick a mesmer just now found about speed runs and proceeds to rub in my face the gold he makes a day.
All I ask is that if you nerf farming spots you nerf them all, and this would mean reworking all dungeons (most). So they can’t be farmed like CoF was. Put some mechanics in dungeons that favor tanky characters and not just zerkers dodging everything. Aetherblade Retreat was a great start.
And why ppl like u keep complains about it? Does it hurts u? Just by ppl like u everything in this game gets nerfed to the point thakittens not worth visiting certain places. Cof is fine, other dungs should rewards for the same amount of cash over time as cof.
I complain about it because it’s stupid that you’re little farm spot is still doable when every other farm spot in the game gets nerfed on sight. CoF rewards the same as other dungeons, the path you run over and over for money just happens to be 100 times easier than say… Arah path 3. If anything you should be rewarded less.
Currently I play a necromancer, and an engineer that I absolutely adore. It has however come to my attention that these two classes don’t bring much to dungeons and I feel I would like to be accepted into more groups and to contribute more.
So what classes do you like to have in your group in dungeons? What classes do you feel contribute the most? Out of these classes which do you think would be the most fun to play? I’m open to just about anything, I could probably do a guardian maining melee but I would probably end up as a ranged warrior because I prefer ranged overall. I want your opinion though.
If you don’t want people farming in this game please nerf them all the farming spots and not just everything but CoF.

Literally every group I have been in has done well only to wipe at the final boss. I just want my achievements ;____;
I understand all the mechanics and I wont be a burden, please someone help me.
Don’t be bad, it’s far from impossible. You assume all people want to toss you off the puzzle.
Did the achievement today, walked past a bunch of stormbluff isle people who let me pass and I got it. A lot of these people are decent human beings. Try it before crying please.
Glad she is a boss that requires excellent teamwork and coordination. I’m glad her shadowstep can’t be dodged. It doesen’t actually do that much and it is completely avoidable if you keep with your group.
I’m also glad that her damage is enough to completely kitten with people in full berserker gear. Just like the Karka Queen who is damaged more by conditions this is a step in the right direction. Not every boss should have only moves you can dodge and just faceroll zerker destroy. Players should always be forced into adapting into new situations.
Finally a boss with cool mechanics that require teamwork that rewards other builds.
