Kidel doesn’t play Ele he just hops in threads trying to get them nerfed. New player that want’s to play rev I think.
Tasao is a salty necro main that does the same.
Just ignore them.
Tempest felt great, not “stronger” then ele, but gives a lot of new options to the class.
“Amazing” doesn’t mean “more damage multipliers”.
Tempest is cool, fun to play and has a lot of options to support, heal, survive AND do damage.
Only the easy access it has to magnetic and frost aura should be enough to call it a day.Omg, guess what? Ele can already do that, what a surprise. So much for new options for ele.
Cool and fun to play is very subjesctive and as you can see many of the ele mains do not share your opinion.
More team support and shouts are all great except elite. You don’t need even more damage on ele.
Overloads need a buff, but aside from that tempest is still strong and fun to play.
More on one of the Jade Winds bugs from Roy: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/revenant/Sword-3-not-an-evade/first#post5361156
Jalis should be able to tank, so that you can use shiro to damage and jalis to save yourself.
You start at 100 energy. 50 for each legend.
Don’t be condescending. You know what he means. 100% in the legend I think is not needed, however OOC draining is needed rather than a complete reset to 50%
but that would mean that you actually start at 200 energy worth of skills, having a huge burst only at the beginning compared to what we have now.
It would also mean 2 elites in a row. To prevent that they would have to add a cd on elites or an increased energy cost, and that’s bad. The class would actually be nerfed, so no.
Don’t spam utilities just because they’re not grey, watch the bar and you won’t run out of energy if you’re careful.
It’s harder than any other profession mechanic, indeed, but it’s because majority of this game already promotes spamming.
Agreed, just manage wisely.
that 2s block on sword #4 is sweet. Olso works while moving.
I don’t have a problem with to 10% extra crit chance – its all pointless unless I can keep 100% fury uptime.
Until you change that, the Roiling Mists doesn’t have a place.
Superior rune of rage. I have more then 100% fury uptime.
Thank you for the trhead.
Can you replace “skill cancels itself if someone is next to wall” with “skill cancels itself if target is next to wall” ?
And can you add that if Jade Winds is stunbreaked (happens often in pvp)
the enemy is still coated with jade?
Also happens if enemy has the stunbreak bar (but that may be intended or it’s not an issue however).
Also hammer #3 not hitting enemies on a different level right at max distance (the skill gets casted so it’s in range) and hammer #2 stopping midway or after 1 tic in certain map points.
And well, sword 4 is not “fixed”, Roy said he took note, but should stay pending.
Yeah, those feel a lot better then Guardian shouts. I mean using “Retreat” while attacking is not really immersive.
EDIT: before you blast me, I agree it needs a damage buff.
It’s not “bad”. It’s very fun to play at least, so you can’t say it’s bad.
It also has some very cool mechanics.
It just needs a damage buff to be AT LEAST on par with dagger.
Same for reaper shroud (that is also very fun to use, good job devs).
I agree. It’s not so strong to require that huge cd.
Atm I’m playing with the old elites, because CttB is always on cd.
I think Sword #3 is meant to be like Guardian/Warrior spinning attacks. Multihit with no invulnerability.
The difference with those however is that you can’t cancel it. So yeah, a semi-invuln or at least a way to cancel would be nice.
Of course, it’s auto canceled if enemy is near a wall, so… >.<
Probably best to create a new thread detailing Revenant bugs. I’ll put one up and try to update over the weekend.
thank you.
You should be able to affect the regen in some way, make it somewhat tactical instead of just a timegated hindrance.
I literally NEVER wait time for energy. Just legendswap. It gives you instant 50% back for a reason, so you are able to “affect” energy.
Already talking about that in different threads (plus one with the same title).
At the moment you can do Impossible Odds to get infinite superspeed ooc (just double legendswap).
In the future this strategy may be nerfec introducing more cd on legend swap ooc, however we’ll get access to swiftness. By Roy (see Dev Tracker).
That’s way better then a +25% speed trait, since superspeed is +100% (capped).
IO however only gives +50% damage, not 2×.
I will main a revenant and Shiro will be my bff… whether he likes it or not
“I demand that you release me”

New player, lol, I’m here since pre-access 3 years ago.
So everyone that has a different opinion is a troller?
Are you denying that Elementalist is the strongest class in the game? I have a lv80 ele, I don’t even main it, yet I get better results then with my other classes (got all of them at 80, and 2 Rangers just for more racial story).
Tempest felt great, not “stronger” then ele, but gives a lot of new options to the class.

“Rebound.” – delete it and we will forget that ele can use elite skill. Do not create usless elite like this.
How many times can we repeat this?
I really hope Anet give us a proper elite.Really. How hard can it be for ANY Anet developer to simply come in here and at least write something like “We are aware eles aren’t happy with Rebound, we’re working on something new for it.”
If I was Karl, I would stay the hell away from these forums or I would have to quit my job.
Agreed. He would be called a troll for no reason.
You start at 100 energy. 50 for each legend.
Sword 3 is an amazinng skill, so I hate even more that it’s bugged

Beta characters won’t be deleted, you get to use them in next BW
By Colin
Since it’s a ELITE spec you have to
lol, you’re right. :P sorry
Let’s hope it’s good then, or that Roy was referring to a trait.
Nice idea with the additional utility slot but…
I don’t think they going to develop new utilitis and UI at this point for the rev but Arenanet please prove me wrong :-)
I agree with you, and also hoping we’re wrong, also because I’d love to use racial skills and mistfire wolf.
energy is not enough to use shiro’s survivability skills AND his offensive skills, so you have to make a choice on what to use before legend swap.
Jalis should be the tanky one, but he is not.
they do not need to give you the option, you can do it for yourself.
It’s not a console game, it’s a pc game. Learn how to make a macro and make one with F1+~
BOOM, here you have your doubleswap (that is not the right way to play revenant, but you’re free to do whatever you want).
Making that option for everyone not only is a waste of time, but would give a bad hint on how to use revenant in the wrong way. And, again, you can do it for yourself.

Reaper damage is abysmal. It does even less damage than the Necro dagger does. The individual hits are strong, but they happen about once a week.
Reaper’s main focus will be the shroud. That’s pretty amazing, I’m loving it.
But that’s off topic here.
I agree that Revenant needs to be able to go frontline, but not only for the sake of WvW. Revenant needs more survivability, expecially with Verdant Brink monsters. Some of them are scary.
Shiro’s heal wouldn’t be so bad if they removed the interval, instead it’ll be very good !
Yeah, it heals 1500+4800 so it’s not bat at all. The problem is that it’s done over 6 seconds instead of just 6 attacks.
(edited by Kidel.2057)
I do find the HoT areas are quite overwhelming for lower-spec machines, though I haven’t had a chance to try it on my gaming machine.
I agree. Having no problem on my tower, but serious issues on my laptop.
I think the main problem is the smoke.
If I only need Glint for mobility OOC then I don’t need to equip the trait line…
And why the hell are you equipping legend+traitline? It’s not needed. I’m using Corruption without Mallyx and it’s fine.
As I said, it’s just like equipping an utility signet or a swiftness skill on any other class. You equip it when you need it, then you remove it.
Also it’s a little bit too soon to discuss thi, and it’s off topic.
EDIT: that’s my PvE build at the moment. Corruption but no Mallyx.
(edited by Kidel.2057)
You should probably read the blog post that introduced energy and legendswap.
Plus we have already discussed it and did the math. Legendswap is always a better idea then waiting for energy. You’re not supposed to camp a single legend as if it was your only set of utility.didn’t say you had to camp it. I said it shouldn’t be mandatory for energy.
It’s not, it’s just way better if you swap.
Bad troll is bad, check other thread where he claim dragonhunter is weak
90% of the community claims that Dragonhunter is a downgrade from Guardian.
Tempest only adds stuff to elementalist.
Dragonhunter trades the old and amazing virtues with a slower version. Plus longbow is worse then scepter+anything and traps are crap.
You may not like overloads, but tempest shouts are awesome and horn skills are OP.
My feedback: Tempest seems too good. Too strong. Of all the Elite specs plus the Revenant we have to toy with in the beta, Tempest is head and shoulder beyond all of them.
Wat.
Like seriously. Wat.
Lol, he’s right.
Only that magnetic aura shout alone is enough to kill any ranged enemy.
You may say that overloads are not that much, but horn and shouts are amazing.
+1
New virtues are a downgrade. Slow and not possible to activate them during other skills.
I won’t mind no ground targeting, it traps were actually good.
2 traps with cripple? Why?
There is a class with insta cast virtues: Guardian.
Dragonhunter has a downgraded cool looking version.
Lol, I can use Guardian virtues DURING the spinning GS attack.
Implying a normal staff+focus/torch guardian could not have done the same if not better.
Also no traps used.
Only enemies that keep moving around when made of jade are the ones with stun break bar. Jade winds only removes half of it, so it’s working as intended if you were talking about them.
No this is 100% happening in pvp. Mabey its a graphical bug with the stun not disapearing if they stun break. But this happens often enough that a stuned enemy just just walks away. Granted i do belive they are still under the dazed effect and cant cast anything but they can still move sometimes.
There is also a graphical bug that seems like teh hammer 5 skill animation repeats itself
Yeah, I can confirm that. It’s working fine (it seems), however stunbreak leaves the “jade” look there, so they can still move when made of jade.
It’s probably just a graphical issue and they need to fix stunbreak so that it removes the jade skin.
Legend channels are already clearly pigeonholed into certain weapon sets, but weapon swapping confuses the issue and results in overall poor design.
On this one in particular…
In my experience, it’s not actually the stance that is thematically linked with a particular weapon that is usually the best fit. Mace maybe, but Jalis really wants to be in the thick of it where Vengeful Hammers can have the best effect. Hammer, on the other hand, seems to work best with Ventari and, ironically, Shiro, both of which can make good use of their stance skills from a standoff position.
With the possible exception of Mallyx (since revenant is fairly light on damaging conditions apart from Mallyx/mace) all weapon/stance combinations have their synergies if you know how to use them. They may require using them differently, however.
That all being said, another reason for not binding weapon to legend (apart from enshrining relative mismatches like hammer Jalis) is that the revenant is already a profession which is lacking in customisability. Fixing weapon to revenant would basically mean that you’d only be free to make two decisions, and after that it’s just traits and gear.
Thank you.
Expecially
Fixing weapon to revenant would basically mean that you’d only be free to make two decisions, and after that it’s just traits and gear.
It would be nice if the invocation line (or the glint line?) had something in there to reduce the CD of the swap.
That’s actually a nice suggestion. Even 1s cd reduction would be a huge improvement considering the energy regeneration.
Just a side note: I don’t insult, never. I may not agree with something, but I always try to be polite and discuss.
One more suggestion:
- Make Jalis elite an invul (or endure pain-alike) while casting, then apply the 50% damage reduction. It would be a perfect disengage.
That would justify the 50 energy lol.
Also 50 energy on taunt makes no sense. I’m not using that skill until the energy cost is halved or less.
It already has a 1s cd ooc however.
And by the way I agree with all you said except the glint part. You can equip a different legend for movement, I’m fine with that. I’m already using SHiro in WvW just for movement, then I swap to Mallyx+Jalis close to a fight.
It’s not different from Guardian that has to equip a couple of shouts (+staff) and it’s better then using Traveler Runes.
Aside from the already reported bug(?) of Vengeful Hammers disappearing when hitting walls/ground, there is a bigger one.
At the moment if I summon Vengeful Hammers and then I legendswap, I can keep the hammers without wasting energy. So yeah, infinite hammers + any other upkeep/skill.

Read the post right after that. He’s simply going to add a small cd to legendswap ooc.
However that won’t be needed probably, since keeping that up is not a good idea.
He also said we are getting more swiftness, so don’t worry
Lighter is actually right.. Youre always free to prove hes wrong by 1v1 him on your main class/rev. Ofc that wont happen for obvious reasons
Sure, a 1vs1 pvp match is the best way to decide if a mechanic is welcomed or not.
/irony
Sword#2 autotargets stealthed foes. Not much however. Revenant is still a kitten in pvp.
You should probably read the blog post that introduced energy and legendswap.
