those players are very bad. I use the same build in PvP and while I may not be as good as Brazil, It’s way harder, and I die vs 3 and sometimes even vs 2.

Plus other bunker builds can do pretty much the same without relying on a gimmick

I missed the memo.whats OP about it?

Bunker Revenant can blast Ventari’s tablet and keep enemies out of points.
Unfortunately it’s nowhere as bulky as other bunkers.

OP also knows that Revenant has been nerfed for way less (like mesmers and elementalists complaining that Unrelenting Assault was “uncounterable”, and now it’s useless)

Renegade (beta) will not be good in PvE

From the stress test:

- SB is pointless unless you absolutely cannot fight in melee.
- F2-F4 skills are unusable due to energy cost and cuz they do not do much to begin with.
- Utilities may have some niche uses, but cost too much energy to be used consistently.
- Heroic is where all energy should be dumped. It offers the highest damage and sustainability for its cost in PvE.

Renegade surly buffs condi damage in PvE, but it is just due to Kalla’s Fervor and heroic spam. It also simplify condi rev game play. Mallyx heroikittenil you run out of energy, then Kalla do the same. Kinda like how things are now.

Agreed. Kalla’s Fervor is basically the only good thing about this spec, for both condi and power builds.
The rest is almost completely trash.

This basically means that on the 22nd we’ll see that Kalla’s Fervor has been nerfed.

I mean, boonrip on 10 targets is broken already, but that’s also on a ½s interval, over 10 seconds, with projectile block, boon prevention, combo field and unblockable.

Basically pop 1 in a zerg fight and it’s over. It can’t even be noticed among all the other stuff.

I mean if it’s really that bad and no one actually uses it then yes it will see changes.

The fact is that if you don’t equip Kalla and you never press F2-F3-F4, it’s actually usable (not bright or strong, just usable).

That skill is completely gamebreaking in some game areas, basically making some classes useless.

10 targets and ½s interval with boonrip, boon prevention and projectile block.
Also unblockable and combo field.

Basically WvW god in 1 skill.

And yes Kodiak, I will never go 10 seconds into Ventari to heal 3 conditions while losing tons of utility and DPS. May as well change rune or sigil, heal more conditions together with Jalis and loose a ton of DPS but still less than what you’re proposing.

The solution is far more simple than a full rework on Ventari. Just add cleanse on Shield (a defensive weapon that makes you sacrifica anche offensive weapon) and buff the cleanses on Invocation and maybe Jalis.

Most classes just need 1 trait or 1 utility slot to become conditions cleanse gods. Some other classes like Ele or Druid (even DPS ones) don’t even need a trait, just go into water or Druid stance for half a second.

As Roy said, Elementalist and Engineers have conjured weapons, kits and a huge amount of extra skills to make up for the loss of the utility slot. Almost every Ele uses Ice Bow even on melee oriented builds, so you always have an option to go ranged if needed. Are you a PvP only player? In WvW and PvE there are many scenarios where switching weapon is needed. Elementalist have learned to swap weapons before a fight while ooc and always carry at least 1 conjured weapon skill.

Weapon swap has nothing to do with the nerfs, that were done because of the giant damage spikes in PvP and mostly because skills like Unrelenting Assault were difficult to counter for some people, apparently. I remember many threads in this subforum of people asking for a nerf on Revenant. But you probably never read the logs or the nerf motivations, or you were there saying that removing weapon swap would have solved the damage spike issue.

But please stop talking about this already. It’s like your life revolves around this argument you lost 2 years ago. And I seriously don’t remember you at all while you even went personal on me.

I can run it stable at 40 FPS on my Dell XPS 13 with Intel Iris GPU even in WvW. Min settings but v-sync and fxaa.

On my 5 years old PC it runs at 120 FPS at almost max settings (I don’t like max shaders, they’re strange, so I keep them medium by choice) and supersample. It’s an OC i7 4th gen and a gtx 970.
It would cost less than 300$ now.

A current gen i5 and a 1060 would probably do way better even with no OC.

Keep in mind that “stable” is used improperly when talking about gw2. The Devs did a great job, but some areas and some game modes will have spikes that can drop the fps on any CPU.

Changing legend has nothing to do with weapon swap. Revenant is not elementalist and switching to Jalis doesn’t make you magically ranged. Being able to go from melee to ranged and vice versa is needed for any class including Revenant, so give it an extra skill to conjure a weapon or keep weapon swap.

After 2 years please stop being kitten about it.

Bullet points, self explanatory. This is a recap from all the other threads.

Renegade:
- remove energy cost from f-skills. They mess up rotations on core legends.
- remove cd from utility skills. Obviously.
- stun break moved from healing to a random utility.
- make summons less vulnerable and give them stability.

Optional:
- ranged greatsword instead of shortbow (same skills but Kalla had a greatsword).

Herald:
- underwater Glint
- Shield-4 now also heals 1 condition
- Some healing is moved from Shield-4 to Shield-5

Core Revenant:
- underwater Jalis
- restore the skills that were nerfed because of PvP, just make a PvP and a PvE version. Most of the huge nerfs to sword and shield were made because of PvP.
- Cleansing Channel buffed to 2 conditions.
- Trait on Mallyx that transfers 1 condition if Resistance is ripped. Should scale to more conditions depending on the duration that was ripped.
- Remove quickness from Impossible Odds and just make it like in GW1, with a flat multiplier (so from 10% to 20% but no quickness). Otherwise Jalis will always deal more damage than Shiro in all party content even if Shiro is supposed to be the dps legend.

Optional and likely never going to happen:
- remove or lower energy cost on weapon skills so that we don’t rely on AA.

Please help this thread reach the Devs.

Probably the reason we have Kalla now is tha post about not having enough female legends. #genderequality

If you really want to get technical, there isn’t gender equality because they made Kalla and her warband exterior killable/fearable manifestations as opposed to the other spirits that operate as an integral part of us and guide our movements. I’d have preferred a new spirit to have manifested internally the same as the others, otherwise I’d have rolled a pre-PoF ranger…

This; one of my most burning objections to the renegade is the fact we’re not really channeling Kalla, we’re channeling her warband.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the f skills were the utilities at some point; their icons follow the color scheme of Kalla’s legend icon; like other legend icons color scheme correspond to their utility skills. Meanwhile, the current Kalla utilities have the standard Revenant color scheme of white, black, and red.

I really wish Kalla’s utilities were a mixed set or kit of different abilities themed around Kalla and the warband summoning skills were the f skills.

We are not even channeling, we are summoning them. Channeling them would actually be great, with Aoe effects around us.

The Aoe effect should be around the caster instead of being around a summon. We should become Kalla as Revenants.

Fixing numbers won’t solve core Revenant issues (like conditions cleanse, Resistance becoming useless and so on) and Kalla lore issues (shortbow and summons instead of Greatsword and channeling).

It’s too late to fix this mess. They had to consult the playerbase way before.

The word “lore” you’ve been using is kinda strange. By lore Kalla should have a Greatsword. By lore Revenant should channel legends and become them, not summon.

With how the summons work by buffing those in it’s radius, the greatsword would have made more sense as a weapon choice.

ANet is probably saving the greatsword for the next legend, the (underwater only) quaggan. It will buff magic finding in scuba places.

I’d take it over Kalla

Fun fact: Kalla had a greatsword and never used summons

Yes. Skills on paper may have decent effects, but they are completely useless in practice even versus fodder mobs.
Every F-skill and utility skill was just a waste of energy forcing me to spam AA and nothing more and was easily avoided by the AI. The heal does basically nothing.

Again, on paper there are some nice things on the F-Skills, but I’m unable to add them in the normal rotation without having to waste 4-7 seconds autoattacking. F3 IS 40 ENERGY, COME ON. We have 50 Energy and 40 goes away with 1 skill that is shared among legends.

Any Revenant build except Ventari ones are now weak to conditions because of boonrip.

I’ll just leave this here and walk away.

Yeah just reported it in game.
I should have +33% crit chance while at full endurance. Checking the character screen, the bonus to precision comes and goes randomly. I find myself sometimes at 85% crit chance (including Fury) and sometimes at 52% crit chance (so just the bonus from Fury, even if I didn’t dodge).

Thanks for noticing that’s because of ICD.

If the trait is working as intended, it means we can’t use Valkyrie, but still go with Berserker and play as if the trait doesn’t exist, or if it’s a random bonus.

Renegade has already unusable skills, at least fix the traits please.

I don’t agree on the fact that we should equip a healing oriented legend to be just functional. Sure that would be a good option for heavy cleanse, but for QoL improvements just having cleanse on Shield-4 and double effect on Cleansing Channel would be decent. Still subpar, but decent.

As you said we have no means of mixing our condi cleanse with any build, with the exception of Cleansing Channel that is a bit luckluster, not only because it’s just 1 condition, but also because that cooldown is shared with energy management and, usually, stun break.

Also agt the beginning Revenant traded the “weakness to condi” with a very good spot as burst dps, condi dps and a very strong position in the pvp meta. Now Revenant is basically “balanced” in positive feats, but still weak to conditions.

And that’s all pre-PoF, so even before the condi creep and boonrip extravaganza.

Are we ever going to hear any response from the devs to our feedback to the previous beta weekend?

During the HoT beta period we had a lot of partecipation in the class subforums, but now everything is silent.

The HoT beta was an actual beta; the PoF “beta” is just demonstrations of what we’ll see in the game, while also letting us give feedback and letting the devs fix any glaring issues that pop up during the demo. They were at a different stage of development than they are with these PoF demos.

I don’t really wish to discuss it, I merely wanted to ask and maybe prompt a response. I don’t see however how the stage of the development should have anything to do with how the community is managed and informed.

Most classes can casually cleanse even on offensive builds. No need to even mention Druid and its 10 conditions cleanse. I get that Druid is a healing spec of course. However you can go conditions DPS on Druid and still get all the conditions cleanse you want, while Revenant is more limited by design. Given that it’s more limited, it should get some benefits

In theory you balance the summons by making them stronger than the average well. In practice, they didn’t do this. Instead, we get two skills that act like offensive wells, and the other three act as very odd buffs that require teammates to be any good, and each one is generally unfulfilling.

The energy costs definitely hold them back. If you could drop both Icerazor and Darkrazor in an area, you would get solid combination of disables and damage that would make for good point control. Problem is, both skills cost a total of 70 energy to use. You simply can’t layer them up. Of course, Necromancers and Chronomancers don’t have a problem layering their wells. Hell, I’ve been hit by double gravity several times in WvW.

Individually they’re weaker than wells, they have a destructible component on top of their effects, and because of energy costs they’re also mutually exclusive with each other. You can only use the best PVP combo after 4 seconds of combat while using no energy for other skills.

Yes, that’s the main reson why Kalla is useless in any game format.
On top of that you also have very costly F-skills and everything has cooldown for some reason, like you could spam those skills if there was no cooldown.

I second this.

This and condi cleanse on shield would really help survive the PoF condi madness.

Also let me address that “condi damage reduction” while being usually very costly (both in Energy and CD), doesn’t do anything against things like Vulnerability, Chill, Crippl, Weakness and so on.
Condi damage reduction, even when at 100%, is nothing compared to condi cleanse
