Experienced on Overlook. Where we’ve been for the past 5 weeks.

I have to agree. I’m sure I’ve done invasions on all the maps, but only have 10/13…. and no clue which ones haven’t registered because I was just having fun at the beginning and not being anal about achievements.

I guess I messed up by just having fun and enjoying myself.

Eh, no one is verbally abusing. We just want this implemented, or at least a response.

That being said, I do find some of the condition based, heavy stealth+regen builds annoying. But then again, I find bunker eles, guardians, and engineers annoying.

No one is saying these should be changed on the fly – but that there should be some method for resetting them at a non-trivial cost. And no, this hasn’t been addressed as far as I know. Account-bound wvw titles were. If I’m wrong, please, by all means, someone link it.

Time gate it, require badges, gems whatever you want. At the end of the day, we should be able to retrait, especially in a still-unfinished environment where new skills are being added.

It should work similarly to Warhammer Online handled it.

Right now, objectives have a defensive list of players to reward on that tick and a offensive list of players to reward should the objective be taken. Let’s call it list D and list O

Defensive tick is worth size of O list * 25 + a base value of 25.

Offensive take is worth size of D list * 25 + a base value of 300 or whatever it currently is.

So both Defenders and Offenders are rewarded based on the size of the opposing force. Now taking an empty tower and taking a tower with 30 people defending are worth different amounts based on the difficulty of the task. And repairing the gate when someone taps it is worth a different amount than 5 people holding back a 40 man zerg.

Imagine that.

It also depends heavily on whether your server is winning or losing. If you’re winning, you’re getting more bags, paying for fewer upgrades, and taking more stuff.

If you’re losing… well, no bags, and I probably spent 5-6 gold last night trying to keep things upgraded / defended while outmanned and out-PVE’d.

Although I guess I’m not surprised, given the current match up of:
5. Fort Aspenwood
9. Crystal Desert
12. Ehmry Bay

Being able to reset traits, or having them reset upon new trait releases is the only decent, fair, and fun way to handle this.

Still PO’d that this hasn’t been addressed when the less important “account bound wvw levels” issue has been addressed clearly.

It was described as being defacto in each level up chests previously, so I thought something was wrong as well when I didn’t receive them.

It’s usually not modified program code. Usually (unless I’m wrong and I very well could be) it is modifying things in memory already. As the working memory footprint of GW2.EXE is somewhere in the neighborhood of 2gb, it’s not really feasible to do a checksum on that whole process.

Live GMs wandering around during prime time, being (meta)physically present for hacking would be helpful. Just knowing that you might get unlucky and have an official Anet person seeing you hack would put the fear of god into people.

The fundamental problem is this:
In real life, walls are easier to defend than attack in every way, shape and form.
In game, being ON a wall is more dangerous than being BELOW it.

I don’t know how you fix that given the limitations of how the game engine handles AoE and LoS issues.

I always thought it was bull that your condition damage affected the arrow cart, but my power didn’t.

Then again, condition builds have their own difficulties.

Disagree with point 1, and agree with point 2.

People should be able to respec for the same cost as resetting your main traits. Think about it. Any good player will have a different roaming spec than a zerging spec. I’d want different WvW skills based on what I am doing as well. It adds more strategy to the game which is a good thing.

Personally I have no problem as long as people aren’t switching on the fly. I don’t know what Anet (or other players) are fearing – I really can’t even imagine any way to abuse respec’ing.

No one cares about the title. Your team can’t see it, the other team doesn’t give a rats kitten . It’s the skills associated with it that matter.

One moderate-cost trait (AC Master for example) would cost 3750-7500 badges at that rate.

7500 badges converts directly into 25 gold via flame rams.

You think it should cost 25 gold to respec a single trait?

Yup, that happens regularly in EB, less so in borderlands. It’s kinda fun, but way too unpredictable. No hacks, just poor server architecture.

This needs to happen with the next patch.

Time gates FAIL if you have no hope of attaining full achievement on even a single character. It is demoralizing and will cause single-character, single-role burnout.

It took me 3 months to get full AC skills. 2 months later, I would like to try guard killer – it will take me 6 full months to attain at current rates. Do you think I’m going to try to get any skills on other character? Hellno.

WvW points should be
1) account bound
2) retraitable

The fact that it isn’t is ridiculous, ESPECIALLY with the introduction of new skills.

These changes are meaningless if I don’t have a way to reset the points I have spent.

We’re still waiting for that to be addressed.

Heck, I wouldn’t try P/D on that kind of a target. If I had time, I’d get out the SB (D/D backup) and plink him down + #3 to keep him at a distance, wait til he blows his big heal, plink 2-3 times more and the switch to D/D, mug+cd+bs and you should him in “OH CRAP” mode.

I’m trying I just have yet to see a red name post in regard to the issue.

Has anyone considered making ACs work like Catapults? You have to aim a direction and then a power. This would make them more static (easier to evade), eliminate ALL the issues of ground targeting, and reduce the rate of fire at max range.

I won’t play #1 on the principle that it’s not fun to play against. Ridiculous to play against.

Spent most of my time in #2, a little in #3

Lately I’m a balls to the wall spike, scholar runes, 25/30/0/0/15, and I’m decent enough to survive most of the time in wvw. Most. I still die a lot. And I like it more because #1, opponents can see me so they feel like they can fight back and #2, 12k backstabs are purty.

Yes, I spent months on ACs defending and now I want to do something else. Oh, too bad. You’ll have to earn 6 months of points before getting guard leech.

The new system sounds wonderful, and if the only down side is someone has to exhibit the tiniest bit more self control, then sign me up twice.

I don’t care if it takes a while, just let me share the points I get with alts and reset them if I want to get off my dang arrow cart!

Fine, the gems it is. As long as it costs 200-400 gems, I’ll shut up. It would at least be progress. It does make your head hurt when they do things so contrary to their own described principles.

I should gain points across all characters that can be spent on any character. It should all come out of the same pool, and if spent on one character it is not available to another character.

I want to play one of my alts, but I can’t justify the lack in my contribution to the team by not having the 100+ ability points spent on my main. And this doesn’t even touch the angle that I want to try different roles.

This absolutely needs to be available.

250 badges is a superb price point.

Still haven’t heard a peep from anyone on it.
