Steal / Infiltrator's Signet failing?

Ever since the bloodlust release, my steal or inf signet + C&D precast seems to land me 10 to 15 feet away from my target about half the time. And then my C/D misses, I’m not invis, my initiative doesn’t get replenished, and I am more than likely dead.

Is anyone else experiencing this type of position lag? It’s driving me freaking nuts.

I stopped playing the past two nights after the position lag (which is still there) would not allow me to close gaps to where my actual opponent was.

Nothing like stealing and winding up 15 feet away from your target, steal on cooldown, nothing stolen, and now a sitting duck.

I have no clue what they did, but something got seriously boned.

I usually run D/D + SB, and I’ve created my first ascended zerker dagger for primary. And Yeah, I notice a fair improvement with it.

My question is, for the next weapon I make, would it be better for it to be SB or offhand dagger? SB is not great for roaming damage – it’s more of an “oh crap” or re-positioning tool, but in dungeons and zerg wvw I end up using it a fair amount.

I’m not sure how offhand weapon damage factors into over-all dps….

You don’t have to continually hold them to keep the buff. Once it’s been gained, it takes someone else taking and holding 3. At least I think that’s what you’re misunderstanding…..

We didn’t ask for “this”.

We asked for a balancing mechanism and they provided something that does the opposite lumped along with some good things.

After, I might add, it was explicitly, redundantly, and quite vocally opposed, both by the current player base and the Ghosts of Devs Past.

Why do NPCs get the buff too? That seems like adding insult to injury.

As a solo player, hitting a supply camp with no upgrades was a 9 out of 10 times success rate. I tried 2 last night when they had the +150 and got my butt handed to me.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

Does anyone else realize that we’re only taking about a perfect damage increase potential of only a couple percent here? Far less than a single weapon hit and easily mitigated through normal means? It’s less than it was going from exotic to ascended items.

Nope. Not even close. It’s like everyone on the opposing side suddenly has the stats of more than 3 exotic celestial chest pieces( +45 to each stat per piece), minus the additional crit damage.

Think about that. Do you not bother repairing when you have a broken piece of armor? Good god no.

Every orb that your opponent has that you don’t roughly like one of YOUR pieces of exotic armor is broken.

6 matches are blowouts.

75% of matches are freaking gangrape. It’s hard to have a conversation when someone won’t admit that the sky is blue.

Again, this is coming from a (balanced) T1 server. I wish a few devs would try WvW’ing on a server that is losing significantly. Try starting at +35 PPT every prime time and see if you can continue trying.

@Radiology, that’s what happened. I logged in, went to a borderland, saw 15+ people camping at the 3 closest Bloodlust objects, all with +150, and said, “Screw that”. And I went and sanded a bathroom wall because that was more satisfying.

It will be even harder than it was previously to gather enough momentum to push back. Log in, look at orb icons, “oh, we’re getting destroyed. Ain’t nobody got time for that”. -click- logout.

For the times when you have no coverage, this will always happen. It happens regularly on the majority of servers – prime time comes around, and you have ground to make up.

Push your own borderland against fully upgraded hills/garrison/etc.
Push EB near spawn-side towers.
Push EB Keep.
Push EB far spawn-side towers.
Upgrade and hold.
NOW you can have an almost even fight.

Anet just added an additional (and continually present) thing to the checklist: try to take down the buff from the dominant server, or EVERYTHING on the list will be harder.

One practical side effect that I’m seeing now that this is live: the #2 server would rather go up against the #3 server than face the #1 server with +150 to stats.

I will bet my account that this will be, if not modified, catastrophic to morale.

Neeho, in real life it doesn’t work that way, pretty much ever. And I’m guessing that it’s coded to require a certain amount of imbalance before being applied.

As a thief (and I know, as soon as you say that, you kind of screw yourself), I think Rangers should be able to have a skill that does what the stealth disruptor does that requires a grandmaster skill in either Beastmastery (if it was pet based detection) or Wilderness Survival.

Stealth needs a hard counter, and Rangers could use the love

Okay, do I read this correctly:
*… conditions(Blind, Burning, Chilled, Cripple, immobilze(now stacks duration), and Poison) now stack to a maximum of 5 times. *

This means that if you take something like http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sneak_Attack and combo it through a dark field, you could apply 5 stacks of blindness to someone?

Unless they cleanse it, that’s a heckuvalot more blind, and should significantly improve the small skirmish value of p/X?

Yeah, that works really well when you have a 17k health pool and you’re hit by 12k eviscerates. That timing gets, you know just a little impossible.

The reason why respeccing at will without timers is because it would make the VERY powerful. Oh, you have 100 points? Well, instead of spreading that around to be good at all situations you could reset it at will constantly. Going to take a keep with trebs? Switch to all trebs? Oh, done and now defending, go and swap to all AC mastery.

Not being able to reset at will makes people choose how to be the most optimal. The points aren’t capped, so they aren’t focing you into a “build”, but they are making you choose how you want to balance your bonuses.

Because this keeps me from wearing all condition damage armor/trinkets when I hop on an arrow cart to tick people for 130 bleeds? This means I can’t go respec from being a griefing thief to a support thief?

Oh wait, I do those things. What?

SWEET MOTHER OF GOD, FLEXIBILITY! VERSATILITY!?!? STOP THE GADDANG PRESSES!!!

Flexibility doesn’t break the game. Where the flying rip did that thought come from?

Seen a thousand+ of those threads…Anet love it, constantly congratulating themselves on creating such a good money sink with the MYSTIC TIOLET…where players flush there gold down every day…

The forge is not a gold sink. If anything, it leaves more gold in the economy that would otherwise have been taken out if you used the TP to sell your items.

Economics failure lad.

Putting 4 things in and getting 1 that’s worth the same as one of the original 4 is removing value from the economy – which is what happens 999/1000 times.

The one in a thousand that turns a gigantic profit just consolidating wealth and not creating it.

@Niim – my wvw trait points are a) AC mastery, all but last, and Cata mastery, all but last.

I’m trying to be a well rounded player, spending time running supply + upgrading, defending, attacking, roaming, yak sniping, etc.

It’s just hard to be well rounded when certain aspects go almost completely unrewarded and actually cost me money – speaking of dropping siege, running supply for said siege, and purchasing tower/supply upgrades.

Well, for my thief who goes d/d primarily vs my ranger who goes sb primary…

It just feels like something is really off for one weapon setup to take double the work. I thought they learned this lesson when they dropped the badge cost and token cost of 1h vs 2h weapons:

Kodan Dagger: 300 tokens
Kodan Greatsword: 390 tokens

Invader’s Dagger: 132 Badges + 1g
Invader’s Greatsword: 198 Badges + 1g

And yet, crafting ascended weapons:
Dagger ingredients:

10 Pile of Crystalline Dust
5 Deldrimor Steel Ingot
100 Thermocatalytic Reagent

10 Pile of Crystalline Dust
6 Deldrimor Steel Ingot
100 Thermocatalytic Reagent

A difference of 1 ingot.

I ran into a condition / perplexity runes warrior on my dps-spike thief…. Wow is all I can say.

After killing me once, I grouped him and we tested his confusion without trying to kill eachother. He could, with one attack combo, which I neglected to ask what he was doing sadly, he was stacking 12 confusion at a time, 15ish seconds duration. The damage wakittenting for 2100 an action.

Let me put that into a different perspective. Thief dagger/dagger autoattack is 3 quick strikes. It takes just over a second for that 3 swing cycle.

3 seconds of autoattacking would kill me.
1 death blossom would damage me 6300 damage.

Healing myself for 5k would make me take 40% of that in damage back.

It’s hilarious.

Players who are on siege during offenses are being severely penalized now.

It started with the addition of chests to keep/tower lords, and it has now gotten worse with ascended materials being added to those chests.

Scenarios that have played out within one evening’s game play:

In Overlook in EB, catapulting Ogre Watch from the Overlook wall. I get the wall down (solo) and before I can jump down and rush in, the keep lord is dead. NO LOOT FOR YOU.

Attacking Hills, both outer and inner gates are down, we’re about to rush into the Lord’s room, but some of us have to stay on the bridge and hold off the defenders that are returning. NO LOOT FOR YOU.

Attacking a supply camp with defenders, and (as a smart player would), some of us attack the players instead of the NPCs, but about half of us don’t, and the Supervisor dies to them while we’re killing the players. NO LOOT FOR YOU.

Is there a reason to tie the act of tagging the boss here that makes sense? There are already events tied to the taking of a keep / tower / supply camp – why not have a chest reward attached to the event that everyone there helped, not just the people who were in a position to tag the boss.

Heck, I think it makes MORE sense – we had an attempt to take a tower that failed, but we got the Lord down before we got swamped. doesn’t matter got loot

Now I’m a big boy. I guess I can make decisions about whether or not failing an event is worth the chest, but I know many people will gladly sacrifice victory for phat loot. And I don’t why there has to be the choice.

This is extra funny because I named my thief “Tired of OP” – I switched from a ranger to thief because I was so ticked off at them. Now it’s my main, 3.8k deaths, not sure how many hours

And I’ll still say that max regen + HS→Smoke is freaking annoying and never fun to play against.

Quick and dirty explanation: points for holding an enemy’s assets is based on your ranking relation to the owner of that asset.

example:
3 servers – Highest rank is Server A, next is Server B, lowest is Server C

Server A takes Server B tower: worth 80% of the point value
Server A takes Server C tower: worth 60% of the point value

Server B takes Server A tower: worth 110% of the point value
Server B takes Server C tower: worth 80% of the point value

Server C takes Server A tower: worth 120% of the point value
Server C takes Server B tower: worth 110% of the point value

De-incentivize picking on lower tiers and make going for the top guy more appealing point-wise.
