I thought that it should be removed with Hide in Shadows too.
Or he could have been using sword and teleporting all over god’s green earth
It should be account bound. I haven’t touched an alt in WvW since they released the wvw abilities, and that is going to reduce my over-all time I spend on the game long term.
Once I get bored with this character in WvW, I’m done.
I for one know that I’ve been “glitched” through gates multiple times by the fact that when you get a loot bag, it moves you slightly in one direction.
I didn’t report it because, well, that’s obvious / dumb as balls and figured I’d be clogging up the reports.
Whichever. I agree, actually, but you know, the chance to get people to spend more… Who knows, it might help.
Personally I think 250 badges would be about right.
Now, how about allowing us to respec our wvw skill points (even at considerable cost) so we can actually play with some of these new toys?
“Changes to <INSERT CURRENT REQUEST> sound great, but we are unable to do them with the system as currently set up.”
LOL indeed, very nice and mostly accurate
I mean, I love new abilities coming out. I really do. Every time a new one comes out though, it makes me less and less likely to spend points because what happens if a FREAKING AWESOME ability comes out and I don’t have 3 months of points saved up?
Make me pay 500 gems. I will. Shut up and take my money. Just let me reset them!
No (legitimate) person is crying about it. It’s kinda fun.
Seriously Lotus, chillax.
Now, how about allowing us to respec our wvw skill points (even at considerable cost) so we can actually play with some of these new toys?
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could experiment without potentially wasting months of work?
Oh, that’s right, no resetting of WvW skill points once spent.
Don’t like that the ability doesn’t work as advertised? (IE advanced mortar skill being half the range of other skills, but not listed on the tool tip) —- YERBONEDLADDIE!
Other skills besides auto can be put on “auto attack”. I’ve had some signets accidentally put on that and it was fairly annoying until I noticed why they kept going on cooldown.
I’ve only done AC Mastery, but not the last one – everyone says that’s crap for the cost. Everything else in the line is not bad – at least on paper – except the increased radius. That’s freaking pimp.
I would, in order of expediency, go level 1 of AC Mastery, then one point in each of the repair/build because it is roughly a 100% speed increase.
I’m currently sitting on my points, hoping that they’ll announce a way to reset them. The next things I’m looking at are increased ballista range or guard killer, but the guard ones are such a huge investment
Did you find the increased ballista range worth it?
PLEASE. The issue is only going to get worse.
I couldn’t agree more. Throw us a bone and let us reset them. I’ll buy gems for it even.
I don’t know what crack you all are smoking, but my thief brings a ton to the table, both in roaming AND zerg fights.
Good lord, you sound like rangers. Unbunch your panties, pull out your short bow, and blast / poison / damage / heal the crap out of things.
You can CnD off of walls, gates, siege, and some houses.
You can go back to full health by leveling up.
I can two round dolyaks, but not one shot. If he was actually doing that, then fraps it and we’ll believe you.
Yeah, I’m really glad I was warned before buying the lvl5 AC mastery.
I mean, at 2 hours a point, I wouldn’t mind JUST a little more info before deciding on a 50 hour investment.
Just me.
Or you fix the whole bloody thing and let us reset our skill points at the cost of 100 badges…
Oh, perhaps this is another reason to allow people to be able to reset traits! You know, something not being well thought out or just a bad investment. The description is NOT enough to go on. If I had bought this, I would be royally peaved.
anyone know what the base poison duration is?
Yeah, that’s what I’m wondering.
IE, Shaman Reward Breastplate has:
+72 Power
+72 Vitality
+101 Condition Damage
Total of 245 stats
Runes of divinity add stats to Power, Toughness, Vitality, Precision, Healing Power, and Condition Damage and crit damage (7 stats), so if Celestial armor adds to all of these but gives close to the same total stats, you’d only get +35 to everything.
Anyone know the stats of the celestial armor pieces?
I’d support the OP, but we were farming Maguuma at their spawn. I don’t have a night-specific weapon yet and don’t use Executioner and I’ve gotten 8k-ish C/D. It feels a little weird when you mug + c/d and the person goes from full health to downed before your backstab hits.
As for guardians, I start with short bow, plink them 5 or 6 times, wait for them to heal once and then BOOM, weapon swap / steal / c&d / bs.
Bunker eles can please die in their own fire, but non bunker usually go down within the first opening s/c&d/bs.
It’s “fixed” in that you have to wait for stealth to wear off before reapplying it with c/d.
Before you could could mistime it and not get the “revealed” debuff.
Your point #1 is wrong. It has as much supply as it had previously, up to a max of 100.
If you want to deny supply for the opposing team on a camp that is about to be taken, then buy an upgrade right before they get there. And if you’re especially spiteful, drop a supply trap.
Your point #2 is partially valid, but really, I’ve never had trouble clearing a fully upgraded camp with 3 people. If you’re on EB, use the dredge/ogres/hylek – it is TRIVIAL to clear a fully upgraded camp with any of those mercenaries helping you.
If you’re not in EB? Well, find 2 other people, and if that fails, you may want to cough l2porsomething….
It annoys the crap out of me when I waited 20 minutes to get in a queue, zone in and see 20 people akitten spawn.
So yes. Cut it down to 3 minutes.
It’s extra funny because I created a thief about 3 months in when I was tired of getting facerolled by thieves on my ranger. I named him “Tired of OP”, and now it’s a bit of a laugh now.
This was addressed by a dev:

Yup. You’re still invis.
God I love that not breaking stealth
From what I was told, AN has been working on this and it was suppose to be released a month+ ago, but they’ve encountered some massive bug with it so it had to be delayed.
For the short term they did the 1 time reset.
I thought it was the one-time reset they were working on. I don’t recall any communication that they thought there should be a regular retraining of points. I hope they realize that offering it as a “carrot” to keep people around is really a bad idea. I’ll stick around longer if I don’t have to work 3 months to try out a new role.
I unlocked all the skills on 3 characters in 3 months. And even after lots of superior siege building, I have 600 skill points on one character, 400 on another.
I have yet to max one skill in WvW in the same amount of time. They’re not even close to the same in terms of difficulty to achieve / max.
I’ve had this happen, and the first time I was THOROUGHLY confused.
I think this is a wonderful idea, and would make it more consistent with the rest of the game mechanics.
Heck, you could even take it one step further and make me super happy by having all your characters be able to draw from the same pool of skill points….
EG: I have 90 skill points on my thief. I’d like to refund those on my thief and use them on my guardian for a month.
Does anyone else find it frustrating that even if you spec’d and equipped entirely into healing (approximately 1400 healing) with full sigil healing stacks (250), and food (100) you’re adding a paltry 350 ( (1400250+100) * 0.2) to the heal?
The absolute best you can do is increase the splash heal by is roughly 25%.
I know they don’t want healers. But sometimes you need healers
Last night and the night before in EB a single thief kept both TC’s keep and SM perma-contested, killed all the yaks going to EB from (and flipped both supply camps) TC’s side multiple times for hours at a time.
Does it get boring? Yes. Does it help your side when you’re getting roflstomped? Yup.
“Roaming” solo can be a way to pull 10x the weight of a zergling. But you have to do it with purpose and tenacity.
How did I miss your huge QQ thread posted a day and a half ago? And yet you still feel the need to start a new topic on it?
FOR SHAME!
Plus I don’t buy it. You must either a) run with some ishtty thieves or b) BE a ishtty thief. The people I run with seem to appreciate my thief’s skills. 12k backstabs single target and 25k AE damage per clusterbomb + blast finishers ever 2-3 seconds in group fights…… What do you call that?
Oh, I call it keeping up 20+ stacks of might on the group when teaming up with a guardian or ele.
We’re fine PvE.
Not only did they not nerf it, they added 300 to the long range steal ability =) So now we can insta-gib you from further away. Because with Infiltrator’s Signet (900 range) + steal (900 range traited to 1200) wasn’t enough – we need 900+1500 = 2700 range. Add in one infiltrator’s arrow (900) = 3600 range gap closer in under a second for exploding your target.
I loves it.
Yeah, I don’t understand why this was even on the radar. It will be hilarious if the distance from keep walls to the ground is basically max range so it’s useless for defending.
If this was last night in EB over by Rogue’s Quarry, I was going to suggest we fight after we took TC’s camp instead of before, risking a stalemate where the camp didn’t get flipped. But then (if it was you) ran into the camp swinging….
I rallied you 3 times from killing the camp NPCs, but they finished you off before I could get them all down. I’m le sorry.
Agreed. Go bump the post in the suggestion room to that end. I think I’m wearing out my welcome in it.
I would love a response to this
We have been getting WvW exp for ~3 months. In that time, I have played at least 2-3 hours a day average, and I have 65 points. That is not enough points to complete a single line of one of the lowest cost abilities. At this rate, it will be several years to complete the Supply line.
It is unrealistic to say “play more”. I’m already horribly angry that WvW points are limited to character – I simply can’t play an alt and feel that I’m contributing to the maximum. So not only are we pigeon-holed into a specific Class, we are also forced into a specific role.
I have it happen all the dang time. It’s really frustrating, and it seems to be unrelated to immobilize and more related to being queued during a stun or a knockback.
In that video of the ranger taking the camp, he had the help of the tamiri taking one set of the guards’ attention. True, that’s a “solo” take….
And in that case, I’ve taken fully upgraded camps solo on my thief (Hyleks for one camp, Dredge for the other).
Falrin, the question is a fully upgraded camp – which means 3 wandering x2, 6 in the camp + supervisor, all upgraded to level 82.
I’d love to see a ranger pull that off – I just don’t think they have the DPS to beat respawn.
I’m going to ask what every thief here is actually wondering – what server were you on, and please god, let these qq tears be for me!
I wish I knew what server the OP was on, just on the hope that his tears were the result of me insta-gibbing him.
Blood makes the grass grow. Tears make cookies.
1v1, no yak is safe from a sub par to decent thief. The only class that’s been annoying on my thief (and I say annoying, but not close to stopping me) is either a highly skilled hammer warrior or a guardian. A few well timed aegis can suck.
I want to try out some different builds. And like hell I’m going to take 3 months each time.
