I’m not really asking to nerf it, I think it might be a little bit strong in 1v1s, but isn’t anything special anywhere else, can be exploited by enemy and so on. Game isn’t balanced around 1v1s on Niflhel anyway.
I’m just giving suggestion just in case so it doesn’t get a random nerfbat somewhere down the line. It’s really hard to say if something is super strong or not after 2 days playing it.
If anything, I’d suggest to move just a little bit of that damage from each strike, like I said, 10 or 15% which is roughly around what – 200 damage? – to final attack. Waiting just for 7th hit would still make you eat vast majority of damage.
thats still a huge nerf. There was a reason it had to get a damage buff. Saving everything to the last hit basically makes it useless because of all the current ways to counter it such as terrain.
I want a Axe main hand with nice AoE power build and defense.
Learn to stay out of it and range dps burn…
In SPvP i been countered by Stealth, dodge, block, Invulnerable and terrain.
this doesnt need nerf. If it does, Anet has to add burst damage to something else because right now they have none other.
I have to disagree with any nerfs. Take away the only true burst the class has then what? The counter to it is backing into terrain or double dodge. Remove the burst and we uave beta weekend 1 situation again, because Sword 2 isnt reliable and has little to no self defense in SPvP on the class as is.
Like i said before i’m pretty sure it’s for us a tool for selling the expansion. The only two specs that wasn’t mandatory dragonhunter and tempest was the least liked of all. So i pretty sure now specs are going to be classe v2 and must have but, yeah with this system i don’t know how it’s going to work in the next expansion. Imagine rev without herald and swiftness or chronomancer without chronomancer. It’s a problem
Mesmer still mesmer tho. So Chronomancer being strong is meaningless when its already strong. Rev on other hand, is paper without Herald.
the Herald is pretty much required compared .
CH counters Chaotic Release elite skill. The wings go off but has no effect…
Without it I feel like they’d drop back to nothing.
I agree. without Herald, Rev is paper…. its nothingness…
its 0-1=-1
If I could use the same legend in both slots simply for the energy regen, I would..
Some of the legends just not good across the board…
Anet, why don’t you simply admit the Trinity is an essential part of gaming beyond the zergs we’ve had for three long years?
This incremental move toward roles, clearly demonstrated in the current and previous beta events, is tiresome.
they did in a POI but it was a PR control version of it. So they admitted its needed, but without admitting they were wrong.
What if Forced Engagement was am Upkeep skill that procs taunt on intervals, and procs slow on intervals, damage on intervals as well?
Defiance Stance
/trollface
collecting mounts would be much better than collecting minis.
I agree. The minis bore me. They too real looking for a pet.
When it comes to future Elite Specialization development, I been curious, if the developers at ArenaNet have some kind of rule the governs how all future elite specialization get developed.
I asked because I am interested in making some fan made Elite Specializations, and I wanted to make them in a way that would fit into ArenaNet’s Ten Commandments for Elite Specializations so they could potentially be plausible.
Example:
Are there rules thats All Future Elite Specialization have to have a new weapon type?
Are there rules that All Future Elite Specializations for the class, have to stick to a certain theme? Such as Warriors could never get an Elite Specialization that deals with magic?
Are there rules that All Future Elite Specialization have to add new skill types to the class?
Are there rules that All Future Elite Specialization have to change the class mechanics?
I can go on and on. But hope you get the idea.
I am curious, but if I spend my hero points into Herald first from ToK Revenant, what would i be sacrificing?
They were using Glint Fire Breath/Staff5 burst.
Good for hit/run builds. Hard to master.
How about stun break on Dwarf Heal?
Its one of the two things i like about dwarf. Heal and Hammers…
Kind of debating if i want to unlock this trait and legend line along side Glint, when the expansion launch.
Taunt skill needs a buff to add some kind of useful element to this. Perhaps make it deal heavy damage and transfer damage you take, back to the target, sort of like a buffed up ret boon.
The Elite would be nice if it had a negative effect on enemies nearby as well, such as a AoE Fear or AoE root or something. Maybe make it generates health or make immune to crits or something along with the damage reduction.
I don’t mind that the skill roots you because it seems thematically fitting – IF, that is, it can be balanced around the self-root.
Atleast in PvP/WvW scenarios, the self-root means that opponents can anticipate and prepare burst against the Rev for when the skill ends. And the defiance bar would probably be difficult to balance – either it will be unbreakable in 1v1 or trivially easy to break in zerg vs. zerg (WvW).
Because of this I agree with JoshuaRAWR, that the defiance bar should be removed and the skill make you completely invulnerable.
Alternatively, the break bar could maybe be kept if movement is allowed while channeling, but I feel this would not be as fitting for the intended aesthetic of the skill (though balance must always come before aesthetics).
Just change the animation to be the Rev channeling a clear dragon orb around their body floating in midair which allow movement.
I just hate how it easily miss fire when terrain constricted.
I say keep the range as is. Just fix the kitten thing
I disagree. Sword 2 on the other hand need to be buffed to actually hit enemies.
You don’t have to use shield just because you take herald
I dont, because it sucks. But who likes having weapons that suck? You play Necro?
I was playing Reaper in PvP, and yes like Paper. But people will argue otherwise, so no point.
So my biggest concern for the Herald is the 600 radius for Glint utilities. I would like to promote not stacking but the only way to cover both range and melee is for me to stand in the middle of them. But in doing so I have to use the 2nd hammer for range dps. This then does not let me use any of the shield skills.
Could we either increase radius to 900 or 1200. Or enable the use of a scepter so that we could still range 600 while using the shield skills.
Unless there was a specific reason to limiting range to 600, I would be interested in hearing why.
Glint is meant to be the up front tank legend along with Dwarf.
The actives are also for similar melee range combat.
Sword 2 has lots of pathing problems to the point it often doesn’t do any damage.
noticed this as well. I stopped using it. Was pointless.
its meant for PvE likely, just like Ventari legend is for PvE.
please fix this. It made me lose twice now when I would have won.
Hey I take that back. I found a good use for the Legend. but the traits on the other hand, and shield…
maybe in PvE only.
Hey this trait was disabled. no longer procs. I had it equipped. Switched to another trait line, and back, and now it wont work.
I notice Axe 5 can be avoided by simply walking towards the source.
Is that intentional?
Also dont like how the Smoothing Bastion trait will interrupt my heal skill and put it on cooldown, basically putting me in a bad situation because the skill itself doesnt heal much.
man I just got an ascended weapon box from rank up chest in PvP n my Revenant….
well every stolen spell supposed to help you to fight class you stole it from…. question is what counters revenants
CC if they have Glint…
What’s the deal with the bizarre delay with dodging on Daredevil? You press dodge and the character just stands there eating attacks like a member of a dungeon pug. Then like a second or so later it finally decides to dodge when it’s far too late to be of any use.
I thought maybe it was lag or input delay, possibly because Anet keep deciding that the best time for stress tests are at the exact same time that people are trying to beta test. However, I loaded up a different beta character and did some test dodges and they worked perfectly.
So what’s the dealy? Is this intentional? Did Daredevils get the name because they just refuse to dodge until it’s too late?
its the special effects on the dodge that is doing this.
Warriors use to suffer from this early on in the game when they trait for damage on dodge trait.
Surg of the Mist should go in camera direction.
Need to make it so it doesnt interrupt our cast time. or maybe heal more.
This skills procs using downed bar as well…
2nd facet effects are great. I’m not liking crystal hybernation making you unable to move and still being considered an invuln in pvp point capture, while it’s not. The healing is nice
I agree with this. crazy that its not a invulnerability but still prevents capture point. and it roots and doesnt heal much. Its basically a self stun. and for what trade off?
wow I am really liking the changes…
personally it just comes down to Herald not feeling like an elite spec at all. very passive. In fact should have been baseline like the OP say. Works better with Vetari and Hammer which have no connections
wow the Dardevil as a whole is clunky.
Glad I didnt waste time going on a hero point grind on my Thief…
yes. Somebody said it could be a bug. I believe otherwise.
Hey Anet Death Charge need a speed increase if its going ot be a distance closer.
Right now its still too easy to kite by simply running.
Randomly the game will interrupt skills with cast time when moving.
This happen to me while playing Warrior and casting Rampage,
and now just happen with Necro casting wells.
yeah sorry but this just doesnt work well outside of PvE…
maybe in WvW where everything works.
But that Shield,,,, come on,,, could have been better.
When did this get added?
When you build a game around just one of the trinity roles (dps) dont be surprised when people spec and stat for that one single specific role.
poor game design decision. This is why i say, leave the Anti-WoW stuff at the door whe making a MMO. It clouds developers decisions and make them make poorly thought out decision in game design.
