No thats the ground target concentration skill that Guardians never use because it sucks
Cleric works even better. With the toughness converted and the fury from traits, you would be gtg with larger self heals.
In SPVP you would get burst down running S/S shiro…. this was needed. Besides hit and run builds, Shiro Revs get eaten alive.
1v1 is never a good way to balance things.
Yeah the heal seems really strong, maybe even to strong.
4x 900 heal that’s nearly the amount of a usual heal skill. Okay it has twice as much cooldown as a heal skills with 3500-4000 heal, but still.But I would like to see the possibility to move while channeling that skill. And not to get stunned/vulnerable when it breaks. Then I guess it would be fine.
I believe Roy mentioned that he was running Marauder when previewing the Shield skills, so I guess healing numbers may be quite decent.
The worst part of this skill is that it’s immobile. And last thing you want is Grandmaster that makes you immobile for 3s when dropped to 25% health. With possibility of getting stunned right after.
Yeah not sure i like the sound of root as a proc.
but also the thing i want to point out is unlike RF from Guardians, in theory this skill shouldnt remove capture point contribution so it can be pretty good in SPvP. Also if it gets broken, doesnt Herald have a stun breaker and condition transfer on Glint?
What about RS damage reduction?
energy goes down while upkeeps are on. keep that in mind.
Also why use that when Assassin is better for movement out of combat?
Just went to game stop. there is no way to get Gems outside the game from them.

RS #2 striking foes it passes through would be a good start.
I believe RS2 should generate LF. Also should aply Blind to all enemies hit each hit.
Rs should have a secondary attack that does some kind of CC that interrupts enemies.
Would like some bonus toughness i guess but not sure how scaling works. Maybe a passive armor bonus conversion from the minor trait.
also been brainstorming an idea for damage reduction based on LF bar.
Depending on how much LF you have you get a flat bonus to damage reduction. Apply both inside and out of RS.

Just to clarify, are you talking about ways to take what it already has and make a build that improves the defense? Or are you talking changes that could be made that aren’t larger mechanical ones to make it have better defense?

If you were lead developer for Revenant, how would you have redesigned the Energy resource system?
What some ways to improve the Reaper’s defense in melee range with its current traits and tools?
Have it heal a fraction of the damage of the shout could make it worthy on top of the current trait.
In the new guild hall custom arenas, i would like to request that we get Capture point creation tools like SPvP and also get destroyable walls like in Foe map.
Would be nice to also get orb running tool.
NPCs would also be a nice element.
would like some visible score objects as well. Something like a colored ground based on three colors. (1 color per team)
The ground circle change color by percentage of that circle is controlled by that color’s team.
would like an option for 10 player size groups to 15 player sized groups.
Have some interesting ideas for PvP map modes i would like to make.

also can a elite specialization grant a new weapon type to both hands when it comes to 1handers?
For an Elite specialization what weapon do you all want next, that isnt a completely new weapon type for the game or land?
How about an Off Hand Dagger. Could be like a religious witch hunter or demon hunter or something? Could get Sword animations for it.
This skill reminds me of death pull from Death Knights class from World of Warcraft.
(Also believe the paladin themed class from Aion has this as well)

Perhaps its best is this is target based instead of its current method. Or make it camera view point aim instead of character’s facing.
Also how about adding a ending root effect to counter server side lag for chaining this with melee attacks. A short root.

We have to wait until friday to see the facets, maybe you can run nature and another facet together without or with a very small degeneration (1-2 pips)
thats not the point. it was mentioned that Facet of Nature is all about Boon Durations as our F2 skill.
but what good is that to us? That may be good on a Ele with tons of boons, but on a Revenant? how that going to help us in our current issues (Energy cost, lack of choices, lack of self defense, etc)?
Hello necro community.
I’ve played necro since beta, and don’t often post. By I’m growing increasingly concerned with the necro and have become quite disillusioned by the lack of… well, everything a lot of classes just do better.
You might not agree with me at all, but I quite often get the sense that I have to work 2x, 3x as kitten my necro to kill someone (when I’m solo roaming) than when I switch to one of my other characters (80 of every class). This kind of forces me to go full ham on condis, which I do well with obv since it does good dmg, however I’m still getting completely wrecked by mesmers (both power, condi), good thieves, good rangers.
Now you might be thinking, well hey you do well against every other class, and you shouldn’t be able to beat everyone. But I do like to fell I at least have a chance in hell, and a 15-18k burst from a mesmer just leaves me with the feeling I’m not entirely as effective, or defensive as I should be.
So in summation, I prolly suck. Give me tips so that I at least have a chance against every class, most annoyingly mesmers.

OP I believe you are confusing Underpowered Necro, with OP other classes.
You fight against OP classes expect to get beat down.

I guess upkeeps will be something like -3/-4, so you can activate 2 and still not be out of energy in 8 seconds.
Well at least i hope you can keep at least one permanently with still a low but positive energy regenSome are cheap, some are expensive. You’ll be able to keep multiple up at the same time. A lot of the inspiration for the skills came from what you might find a bard style class doing in other games.
I’ll be showing it all off plus some extra things on the POI this Friday which will give a much better idea of how everything works.

By the sounds of it, there still isn’t a ‘permanent’ 25% movement utility though, it sounds more like something that will be temporary via blast finishers or whatever. I hope I’m wrong.
I doubt there will be any, espesially when one signet grants swiftness. Traveler runes still the king, espesially with it +15% boon and +10% condi duration.

Thats also what came to mind as well. Tempest attunement mechanics. Which doesnt really interest me much unless they have cool skills.

Still confused what Facet of Nature does as a mechanic.
A solution is to simply make it like GW1 energy but with a slower regen. Start at full and low regen.
But with regard to player-made events, isn’t the commander tag just as viable (or perhaps more so) for helping players follow player-made events?
It is. But cost gold i dont have.
I like doing a few player made events in the game. But have a few ideas i currently do for a player made event.
with the new Pact Mentor feature it could be easier to gain follower for player made events.
i was wondering if any of you all had any ideas for player made events to use this new tool on?
My favorite player made event so far is the escort missions, when we escort low level characters from a low level zone all the way to Orr with limited number of deaths allowed or auto failure.

How did you build up energy? Is there some skill or trait that helps? Because as far as I can tell, you simply auto attack and wait for energy… It’s not a very complex system is it?
By not using situation utility skills maybe? It has nothing to do with wep skills as you can still use them.. as long you dont spam utility skills youll be fine.

I said this in first live Rev beta.
The Tablet gameplay is meant for group content, not small scale PvP. It’s meant for being used along side other support burst healers like Tempest and other Support Revenants during Group PvE, or whatever this hard group content is.
We saw Rylock use one of the skills in the personal story.
Some rev skills need their weapon energy cost reduced or all out removed. Sword 4 need to have cost removed.
I want a Dwarf Minion that summons and attacks enemies.
I want a support skill that heals over time separate from regen.
I want Damaging Ranged attack.
Since we getting a Off hand/1handed weapon from Elite Specialization, could that possibly mean we getting an enhanced “F” skill such as F2?
If so, what’s some ways that could work to change up Revenant’s?
Anybody have any speculation and ideas for how a F2 skill for Revenant could work?

Seen lots of responses from various devs on various forums from this weekends beta experience. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous of the Revenants and the communication the community and the devs have going on.
Robert Gee, even if you aren’t changing anything, or are still reading forum responses and going over data collected from the weekend, please please please just take a minute and make a post communicating that too us.
It makes me sick to read forums on other channels and hear about the “salty” necro forum, and I really believe that having an open line of communication, even if all we get are "no"’s, would be absolutely amazing.

Maybe we are getting beta 1 Revenant treatment, in which Anet deliberately made the Revenant underpowered all around which they admitted to doing, for the original Rev beta. Then changed the numbers after all was done.
It set forth the impression that the Rev was weak and in the eyes of the GW2 community they supported them getting a buff. Rather than releasing them full power in the first beta for everybody to cry “Rev is OP nerf now!!!”. Which we know would have happen.
So maybe we got the same treatment. Start off with it looking and playing lame, so the community don’t automatically cry nerf, and actually be supportive of the upcoming buff.
Just saying.
No if RS2 became a shadow step it a the same as DS 2.
I like the current RS2, it just need an added effect to compensate.
RS2 is basically Rev Staff 5 without the knock back.
I say add a blind to it, and the effect to increase the duration of conditions on enemies hit.
Also an evade on it would be nice.
Maybe even add life force generation to it for each enemy hit.
I like the concept from it. Don’t want to take anything away from our sister the Revenant, by requesting to copy her staff 5 knock back.
But I want some added effect to this other than weak poison. Give enemies conditions that are on me as well. Something like that.
Prefer some kind of defense honestly. I get creamed more in RS by thieves then I do in DS.
RS3 on the other hand is a buggy mess. Sometimes it doesn’t activate when clicked. Can’t have that in fast combat of PvP. Would like an added damage reduction from RS3 with a temporary Life Force armor buff that drains life force for 3 seconds each time enemy hits the Necro while it’s up. Or 1.5 seconds, which ever test out better. That could be pretty good defensive skill to counter burst damage in SPvP.
RS auto attack is not consistent, which I notice. It’s pattern of swing effects what enemies are hit in the cone. Which I assume is a bug. Tried this using Charr male btw. Could be related to race swing animation. Tested this on dummies in the mist. On of the swings is a upward angled swing that can miss enemies in the cone.
RS4 could use some life force regen from a trait perhaps, or have baseline healing similar to the trait we currently have for it.
RS5 is very inconsistent in SPvP. This need a faster cast time and larger range. Perhaps a leap, but prefer it stay a Melee ranged attack just need its speed increased, and the field left behind need to deal damage AoE. Because this is impossible to land in SPvP due to the way the game does skill checks. In more tab target games the skill check is done a bit differently which is why it’s more consistent. But single target Melee attacks on the other hand suffer. Warrior’s mace main hand comes to mind.
Was testing this all in SPvP. The time of cast is just off. And the animation is very poorly done on male Charr for this attack.

It takes 30 seconds to switch classes, and you can pvp with full gear from a lvl 11 char.
Not everybody play all classes well in SPvP. This not WvW/OWPvEwere you can just auto attack you way to success.
In SPvP your play skill and your build effectiveness matter. And some classes and builds are far weaker than others.
leagues punish losses, and will condition the community to once again Min/Max on a team structure as well to prevent losing. That means most people in league will avoid having underpowered classes and builds on their team. Meta rules all in Arena PvP. World of Warcraft is the biggest MMO in the west, yet nobody seems to learn from their mistakes. Even they openly admit it was a mistake that cant be fixed now and regret introducing Arenas.

pve level of class/build discrimination will happen here as well in SPvP because of this. There is a reason it exist in PvE….

My first experience with this was in Arenas from World of Warcraft’s first expansion as well. Before hand Battleground (Instanced PvP) were my favorite element. It was the main pvp format. Then it was completely replaced as the main pvp with Arena 5v5, 3v3 and 2v2.
The smaller the group size gets, the more impossible it is to balance. Since this was the main PvP format it had the main PvP progression/rewards. And the community in Arena was all toxic. There was no room for underpowered classes and play styles. I played a Retribution Paladin which was underpowered back then both in design as will as resistance. So i know from experience this will signal the same kind of discrimination practices of underpowered classes and specs that is currently found in PvE dungeons. .. which i also avoid for that same reason.

I still dont understand how unranked work vs ranked. I alwayd play ranked. I stick to dailies custom maps on classes i am not good at.
but one thing for me, i dont really care much about my win/lose stats. I like the rank up reward chest and track rewards.
for me personally, i wouldnt mind an option to queue into matches that have already started but has a out numbered group because somebody left.
I want to get into the queue faster while still having fun and getting my rewards.
honestly my biggest complaint it the lame 5v5 pvp modes. But thats never going to change.
So i am still trying to figure out the general complaint here that others seem to be having with the system.
